    What is it that Windows is doing when it shuts down? Assuming I've saved everything, what negative impact does powering down instead of shutting down properly have? We've all done it at some point and personally I don't know anyone whose machine has died as a result. (Just to be clear, I know I shouldn't, I'm just not sure why.)

    I have a large MS-SQL database that i need to send to the aws cloud. The issue is how do i persist my sql data and how to setup MS-SQL cluster using windows AMI. The real issue is that for replication i need to use the private ip's of the instances. However, these ip's are always dynamic and will change on server launch.     I'm planning on cloning a Windows XP install, and am a little confused about sysprep. I know that it blanks out the XP product key, but what about other software? If I install Office 2007 and enter a product key, then use sysprep and create an image, will I be able to enter a new product key in clones I create from the image? Or will they all have duplicate product keys?

As soon as i click the "conrol panel" item in start items, it shows up a window and then its closed automatically ( same happens if i use "control" command).     I recently tried opening one of my Python projects with CMD to see what would happen. The result did nothing amazing, but Windows 7 thought I wanted to open .py files in CMD all the time. I have tried everything, setting it back to python.exe does not work, I even went to Control Panel to see if it could help, but Control Panel couldn't help either. With the Program Files and User Folders moved to a Second regular HD Drive also configured using Raid 1. Or Setup a single SSD Drive (120 GB or 256 gb) as a cache Drive using Intel Rapid Storage Technology combined with two normal hard drives configured as Raid 1. Which setup would have the faster hard drive performance over the life of the computer?

On many browsers, the below code will work great and I will get the stack trace that points to the actual line that throw the exception. However, some browsers do not have "e.stack". Iphone's safari is one example. I have gone through the entire stackoverflow.com and found some relevant answers but all of them are obsolete and doesn't work with iOS 4.0 anymore. The most famous solution for this problem is NSString *num = [[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] stringForKey:@"SBFormattedPhoneNumber"]; but as I mentioned this solution no more works with iOS 4.0 As my application is intended towards the jail broken phones and not intended the Apple app store so I am not worried about my app rejection, hence any private API will also work for me. Also please let me know if we can fetch IMSI number from SIM using any private APIs of iPhone

    I am trying to push DNS to the client with OpenVPN server with config: push "dhcp-option DNS 192.168.x.x" It is working well, but what I really need is that during the VPN connection I do not want to use my primary resolvers, clients should use only the DNS provided by the server. It can be done with push redirect-gateway, but I do not want to tunnel all connections from the client thru the VPN, only specific networks. Is it possible to do it somehow? Linux clients are OK with a script, on Windows I am not sure
