Deploying and publishing my first asp.net mvc 3 web application

I want to deploy and publish my first asp.net mvc 3 web application at my client side (the client is a small office with 2-4 employees that need to access the application) , currently i finished developing my web application using the free Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2010 express and the free SQL Server 2008 R2 Express database . So my concerns are :- 1. The free sql express database that i am currently using have a limitation of 10 GB i think So i want to buy SQL server for small business to remove the database limitations. So my questions that i need help with them are:- **1. If i use the sql server for small business then will my web application have other limitations on production i am unaware of ? 2. Will be using SQL server for small business my right choice? baring in my that the system will be used by 2-4 clients only? 3. How much does “approximate ” the sql server database will cost in US dollars? 4. Are there any other software that i need to buy to be able to deploy and publish the application on intranet and the internet ?** Appreciate any help Best Regards

Hi, I'm using a class which applies a visual reflection-effect to defined movieclips. I use a reflection-class from here: link to source. It works like a charm except when I apply a rotation to the movieclip. In my case the reflection is still visible but only a part of it. What am I doing wrong? How could I pass/include the rotation to the Reflection-Class ? Thanks in advance! With a jquery modular dialog how do I stop the form values from persisting?

Simplemodal: four times on a page leads to extra "next" or "previous" button

We are experiencing a problem with each instance of the call to the simplemodal div class .basic-modal-content adding an extra next or previous button in the modal windows. We are using simplemodal in four places on a page using a common JS in the container (provided below) and a common CSS format for the modal windows. In one area we are using six "statements" in a window with a next and previous button. I would include a picture of the modal window but it's being disallowed by the system as I'm a first time poster to this forum. In the other three areas we are using three "biographies" in a similar window with the ability to see each of the three bios from each of modal windows. We want to keep the JS simple. The only behavior that is bad is the extra previous and next bottons that appear to be spurious. So is this a fix to the JS? Or do I have the instances of the modal windows too entangled? Perhaps there is a better method for having multiple instances of a simplemodal window on the same page? Or is the problem the "#" variable being common to each of the uses of the JS? Thanks in advance. DDF

How to let short content pages reach the bottom of the browser window and then a footer should appea

In this case, I've developed a CSS code for this web application ..and sometimes the resulting data is too small and the footer of the site appears in the middle of the page and looks odd. I'd like to push that whitespace of the background to the browser's bottom and then followed by a footer. AND if the page is long, that text won't get overlapped by the footer. Can someone help me out with this code right here? Issue with Multiple ModalPopups, ValidationSummary and UpdatePanels

I am having an issue when a page contains multiple ModalPopups each containing a ValidationSummary Control. Here is the functionality I need: A user clicks a button and a Modal Popup appears with dynamic content based on the button that was clicked. (This functionality is working. Buttons are wrapped in UpdatePanels and the partial page postback calls .Show() on the ModalPopup) "Save" button in ModalPopup causes client side validation, then causes a full page postback so the entire ModalPopup disappears. (ModalPopup could disappear another way - the ModalPopup just needs to disappear after a successful save operation) If errors occur in the codebehind during Save operation, messages are added to the ValidationSummary (contained within the ModalPopup) and the ModalPopup is displayed again. When the ValidationSummary's are added to the PopupPanel's, the ModalPopups no longer display correctly after a full page postback caused by the "Save" button within the second PopupPanel. (the first panel continues to function correctly) Both PopupPanels are displayed, and neither is "Popped-Up", they are displayed in-line. Any ideas on how to solve this? jQuery DataTables is messing op my CSS grids in IE8, how to fix?

I am using ASP.NET MVC3 with the jQuery Datatable plug in. I am having an issues with my CSS layout when the datatable is on a page. If there is no datatable then everything displays fine. When the datatable is on the screen then it overlaps the footer of my website. I can't seem to get this to display correctly. I have a grid layout using the YUI3, and this is what I all use from YUI3 (in this order): cssreset-min cssfonts-min cssgrids-min cssbase-min This works fine in the latest version of FireFox. I am only testing on IE8, this is a requirement and most of the people at my work uses IE8. I have minified my HTML so that only the bare minimum is available. Block Hover Effect - Why doesn't it work correctly in FF3.6?

Why doesn't following code work correctly in FireFox 3.6? I have tested in IE7, IE8, and Chrome with out any issues. Issue: The first block hover link (the table's 3rd row) doesn't apply the same style/effect as the following below it. Notes: I am trying to create my own table framework. This project is something I am doing to learn more about CSS. Before I started, I thought I knew a lot about CSS. However, to my surprise I was wrong. Who knew? Moving on... As side note, I do not want to take the time to support IE6. So, if you see a problem related IE6, please don't waste your time telling. And I am trying to traverse from input.save at the bottom right the way up to div.node... This all works well with one copy of the markup but if I duplicate it (obvisouly changing the ID of the uppermost div.node and use jQuery.closest('div.node') for the upper of the div.node's it will return the element below it not the element above it (which is the right one). I've tried using parents() but that also has it's caveats. HTML client-side portable file generation - no external resources or server calls

I have the following situation: I have set up a series of Cron jobs on an internal company server to run various PHP scripts designed to check data integrity. Each PHP script queries a company database, formats the returned query data into an HTML file containing one or more <tables>, and then mails the HTML file to several client emails as an attachment. From my experience, most of the PHP scripts generate HTML files with only a few tables, however there are a few PHP scripts the create HTML files with around 30 tables. HTML files have been chosen as the distribution format of these scans because HTML makes it easy to view many tables at once in a browser window. I would like to add the functionality for the clients to download a table in the HTML file as a CSV file. I anticipate clients using this feature when they suspect a data integrity issue based on the table data. It would be ideal for them to be able to take the table in question, export the data out to a CSV file, and then study it further. Because need for exporting the data to CSV format is at the discretion of the client, unpredictable as to what table will be under scrutiny, and intermittently used I do not want to create CSV files for every table. Normally creating a CSV file wouldn't be too difficult, using JavaScript/jQuery to preform DOM traversal and generate the CSV file data into a string utilizing a server call or flash library to facilitate the download process; but I have one limiting constraint: The HTML file needs to be "portable." I would like the clients to be able to take their HTML file and preform analysis of the data outside the company intranet. Also it is likely these HTML files will be archived, so making the export functionality "self contained" in the HTML files is a highly desirable feature for the two previous reasons. The "portable" constraint of CSV file generation from a HTML file means: I cannot make a server call. This means ALL the file generation must be done client-side. I want the single HTML file attached to the email to contain all the resources to generate the CSV file. This means I cannot use jQuery or flash libraries to generate the file. I understand, for obvious security reasons, that writing out files to disk using JavaScript isn't supported by any browser. I don't want to create a file without the user knowledge; I would like to generate the file using JavaScript in memory and then prompt the user the "download" the file from memory. I have looked into generating the CSV file as a URI however, according to my research and testing, this approach has a few problems: URIs for files are not supported by IE (See Here) URIs in FireFox saves the file with a random file name and as a .part file As much as it pains me, I can accept the fact the IE<=v9 won't create a URI for files. I would like to create a semi-cross-browser solution in which Chrome, Firefox, and Safari create a URI to download the CSV file after JavaScript DOM traversal compiles the data. MediaElement.js setSrc() Loading The File But Not Changing pluginType

I'm working on a page that uses mediaelement.js to play mp3/mp4/wmv (yes, we have a lot of wmv). I have a list of links and those links should change the player. My effort is to make the changes to the player through javascript so that the page doesn't refresh. This code is working, but it refreshes every time. I've read a couple pages that referenced refreshing the DOM after the javascript runs, but I haven't been able to successfully do it (I know enough about javascript to hack things around and get stuff working, but not enough to create whole new things). It is worth noting that Silverlight doesn't work with Internet Explorer 8 or Safari (not sure if it's my code, mejs, or the browsers). Also, neither Silverlight nor Flash play mp3 or webm (again, not sure where the problem lies). Is there a way to dynamically load different types of files into mediaelement?

UITableview has problem reloading

Hi guys, I've kinda finished my application for a school project but have run into a major "bug". It's a account management application. I'm unable to insert a picture here so here's a link: http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee112/seelani/Screenshot2010-12-22atPM075512.png Here's the problem when i click on the plus sign, i push a nav controller to load another view to handle the adding and deleting of categories. When i add and return back to the view above, it doesn't update. It only updates after i hit the button on the right which is another view used to change some settings, and return back to the page. I did some research on viewWillAppear and such but I'm still confused to why it doesn't work properly. This problem is also affecting my program when i delete a category, and return back to this view it crashes cos the view has not reloaded successfully. I will get this error when deleting and returning to the view. Floats will not align, stay staggered, can't find a solution?

What I am trying to do is build a multi column layout. The main two sections are divided 2/3 to 1/3 and inside the 2/3 column is divided 2/3 1/3 as well. My problem is that my floats will not align nicely with each other, choosing instead to stagger like stairs. I have tried declaring the widths smaller, floating them individually, including in the float sections display:block,inline, or inline-block and nothing seems to be working. I am getting really frustrated and would appreciate any help! wsdl interoperability problems

I wrote a .asmx web service which I'm trying to consume from a java client. I'm using axis2's wsdl2java to generate code. But it says that the wsdl is invalid. What exactly is the problem here? It is .net which generated the wsdl automatically after all. Are there problems with wsdl standards, rather the lack of them? What can I do now? $_GET['page'] loading content incorrectly

OK so here is my previous post PHP Templated Site w/ file_get_content links now i got that issue resolved BUT the problem is now that the content loads it displays UNDER the div i placed #CONTENT# inside so the styles are being ignored and it's posting #CONTENT# outside the divs at positions 0,0 any suggestions? Found out whats happening by using "View Source" seems that it's putting all of the #CONTENT#, content that's being loaded in front of the tag. Integrating PayMill: The token filled input field is not created, error "field_invalid_amount"

I'm implementing the Credit Card Payment form of PayMill according to the Payment Form docu. So I copied the JS from the Bridge docu page and the form from the Payment Form docu page. But no token is created. When I try to debug the JS and add console.info(error.apierror); into the paymillResponseHandler(...) function, I get the error code: field_invalid_amount. According to the support page There are three possible reasons for this error message: no amount value was provided numbers were rounded wrong delimiter symbol But the amuont is provided and I've already tried different delimiter symbols. What "numbers were rounded" means, is not clear. What can be the problem and how to fix this issue?
