  • UINavigationController's back button disappears?

    I notice something strange happens to one of my view controller: the back button disappears, yet it's possible to go back to previous view controller by tapping the top left corner (i.e where the button should reside). In my entire file there's no line that set self.navigationItem.hidesBackButton to YES; also NSLog prints 0 as self.navigationItem.hidesBackButton's value in viewDidLoad. This occurs in both the simulator and real device. Any ideas?

  • Editing a BrowserField's History

    I have a BrowserField in my app, which works great. It intercept NavigationRequests to links on my website which go to external sites, and brings up a new windows to display those in the regular Browser, which also works great. The problem I have is that if a user clicks a link to say "www.google.com", my app opens that up in a new browser, but also logs it into the BrowserHistory. So if they click back, away from google, they arrive back at my app, but then if they hit back again, the BrowserHistory would land them on the same page they were on (Because going back from Google doesn't move back in the history) I've tried to find a way to edit the BrowserField's BrowserHistory, but this doesn't seem possible. Short of creating my own class for logging the browsing history, is there anything I can do? If I didn't do a good job explaining the problem, don't hesitate for clarification. Thanks

  • Zscaler. Certs, cookies, and port 80 traffic

    So I work at HQ for a large company that shall remain nameless. We use Zscaler and I had to roll out a 2048 cert per zscaler's request. People around me at work dont understand the technology and think that the cert's are what is allowing internet connectivity. From my understanding(and please chime in) is the cookie located C:\Users\$$$$$$4$$\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player#SharedObjects\Q3JQJQJV\gateway.zscaler.net\zscaler.swf here that gets created when you provide your creds the first time you use the browser. The cert's are just simply a way of inspecting the SSL traffic as zscaler had no way of doing this before without them. They are essentially using the classic MITM attack to parse your SSL traffic. Gmail is smart enough to recognize this as you get a warning. My question is this, is there a product or service that I can use to verify my web browser when at home(I.E. off company network) isn't still getting routed to zscaler's cloud? If i do a tracert that will work fine. It's the port 80 and 443 web traffic zscaler and my company is after. I would like to verify that when I'm off their premise that my web traffic is using only my isp and the path to whatever content I'm searching for. Do the cert's i'm pushing and browser authentication do something behind the curtain that forces web traffic to get routed to zscaler? I searched quite a bit and would very much like to know if I'm ever off company scrutiny. I do know zscaler offers the service to force the scenario im asking about. Can I prove how my web traffic is getting routed? Thanks for any insight. I've been a fan for a long time and your guy's kung fu is very strong:-)

  • Untrusted file not showing unblock button windows 7

    I downloaded a dll but cannot use it as it is considered untrusted. I opened it using: Notepad.exe filepath\filename:zone.identifier and it informed me that that the file was in zone 3. Despite this I do not get an unblock button in the properties page for the file. Not being able to unblock it with this button I instead changed the value in notepad and saved my changes. When I reopen the zone.identifier info it is as I left it. I have set it to both 2 (trusted) and 0 (no information), but still am unable to use the files. Any one have any ideas? If I cannot unblock the files I will investigate turning this blocking off, but as a first step I'd like to try and just unblock this one file. Note: using Windows 7 Ultimate edition. It is when using MSTest from within Visual Studio 2008 that I hit problems.

  • Xubuntu login hangs after Cancel Button click

    I'm running Xubuntu 12.04 (I installed using the alternative installer.) running in Virtaulbox 4.1.20 My issue is with the login screen (lightdm-gtk-greeter). It usually runs just fine, and allows users to log in and out but it will hang if the user presses the cancel button. The interface is still working (ie, shutdown menu is still available, I can switch to a different tty) but the username or password field (depending on when the button is hit) is disabled. Restarting lightdm will reset the screen, but the problem still exists. The issue is only with the cancel button. The login, session, and language buttons/menus as well as the accessibility and shutdown menu appear to work normally. I've modified some of the config files for lighdm-gtk-greeter, specifically /etc/lightdm/lighdm-gtk-greeter.conf to change the background image and /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf to disable the user list. I did not check to see if the error existed before the changes took place. The changes have been restored the default settings but the problem persists.   • How to add a Receive All only button to Outlook 2010

    I managed, somehow, 2-3 years ago to add a big button on to task bar to Send All mail only. I don't recall how I did it but it replicates a function built into Outlook but is much bigger visually. However, more importantly I want a button to just receive all my email. But, I can't find anywhere how to do that. Most of the time I don't want to send mail at the same time that I am receiving, for a multitude of reasons. And, I don't want to make them drafts coz it is a pain to then send them, you need to open each one up and then click send again. Anybody know how to fix my problem? Much appreciated the Godzonekid

  • Using Automator to click on an Application-specific button

    I'm new to Automator. I need to launch a specific application and to click on one of its buttons. I've used the "Watch Me Do" feature to register the button click but, in the Automator events log, this action is being reported as "Bring the window XXX to the front." I'm then wondering if a better way exists to "record" a button-click. The reason behind my question is linked to this: http://superuser.com/questions/148386/mac-running-an-automator-task-at-night In fact, using the "Watch me do" approach, Automator is apparently not able to perform the click action when the machine is on sleep and a password is required.   • My Macbook Pro doesn't give any reaction when pressing the power button

    An hour ago I closed the display my Macbook Pro. it goes into sleep mode. After dinner I returned, opened the display and wanted to continue with my work, but I recognized it was switched off completely. I tried to press the power button and received nothing. I also noticed that the green light on the power supply plug which is plugged into my Macbook is off. Same thing with a power supply from the Mac of a friend of mine. What could I try? Some suggestions? What could be the problem here?? I already tried using the battery to start, no success, also taking the battery out completely, no success. Even if I press the small button for showing the current battery charge, none of the leds starts. It's like the Mac is completely dead.

    I have to save links to web pages into a google drive document. What I want is to copy simple webpage snippet, similar to the one this G+ extension button does, to clipboard. One picture and page title as a link. I was looking for many days now and I still couldn't find anything which does the same thing.     I have a webserver that's hosting lots of images. I want the client to be able to press a button or a link, which will run a bash script, which will create a video based on all these pictures. The script I'm trying to run is this: #!/bin/bash # cd to the directory cd /var/www/gallery # use ffmpeg to make video ffmpeg -pattern_type glob -i 'img-*jpg' -r 1 video.mp4 # Take the first file in the directory and name it video.mp4.jpg (for thumbnail) cp `ls | sort -n | head -1` video.mp4.jpg The script is located on the server. So when the client clicks the link or button, the script will run, and the video is created. I've tried both solutions listed here but I can't seem to get it to work. I have php installed on my server.

  • How to Shutdown PC by Pressing Power Button

    I always Hibernate my PC. Sometimes when I boot, it does not recognize the mouse/keyboard or any USB devices. I've also setup it to go in sleep in 5 minutes. In that case I can't restart the PC so that USB starts working. When I press the Power button then it starts shutdown but asks confirmation twice one is for shutdown by force confirmation and then there is one more. When my USB is disabled I can't input these options. So I switch off the power. What I want is that upon pressing Power Button it should at once start shutdown without asking any more confirmations System details: Win-7 Home Premium 64 bit Intel i3 530 Asus P montherboard EDIT: It is Desktop PC

  • Dell Latitude E6400 power button and wireless not working or only working intermittently

    The power button on the laptop stopped working randomly as of a day or two ago. I can only power the laptop on if its attached to a docking station, on which I can use the power button to turn on/off the laptop. Today the wireless card stopped working (the wifi light does not turn on, even after I turn on the wireless switch). What is the problem and how can I fix it? The laptop is about 1 year old. I have not dropped it, but do carry it around a good amount, including docking it/undocking it frequently.

  • Shutdown button doesn't work in Windows 8

    Some time ago I installed Windows 8 64bit ready-to-market version (as a student I had access to it before premiere). What I discovered is that the "shutdown" button doesn't work. When I want to shutdown the computer it simply logs me out. In order to turn off my machine I have to click "restart" and then simply press the poweroff button. I installed some updates but this issue is still not resolved. Is there any way to shutdown the computer in a normal way?

    For a few months I have been successfully using David Justices Default Button example in my SL 3 app. This approach is based on an attached property. After upgrading to SL4, the approach no longer works, and I get a XAML exception: "Unknown parser error: Scanner 2148474880" Has anyone succesfully used this (or any other) default button attached behaviours in SL4?   • Convert NSMutableArray to string and back

    Hello, in my current project I'm facing the following problem: The app needs to exchange data with my server, which are stored inside a NSMutableArray on the iPhone. The array holds NSString, NSData and CGPoint values. Now, I thought the easiest way to achieve this, was to convert the array into a properly formatted string, send it to my server and store it inside some mySQL database. At this point I'd like to request my data from my server, receive the string, which represents contents of my array and then actually convert it back into a NSMutablArray. So far, I tried something like this: NSString *myArrayString = [myArray description]; Now I send this string to my server and store it inside my mySQL database. That part works really well. However, when I receive the string from my server, I have trouble converting it back into a NSMutableArray. Is there a method, which can easily convert array description back into an array? Unfortunately I couldn't find anything on that so far. Maybe my way of "serializing" the array is wrong right from the start and there is a smarter way to do this. Any help appreciated.
