    hi, i have a company table that is dbo.companies and has companyId as a column. I also have an invoice table that is dbo.invoices with invoicecompanyId column (which is the same as the companyId on the other table) and it also has a column called invoicedate.     I'm creating a custom ActionResult class and I need it to be able to operate on a UserControl. All of the examples I've found so far pass in the full path like so: return MyResult("~/ControllerName/UserControlName.ascx", myModel); But I'd like it to operate the same way as calling View(), i.e. I just pass in the name and MVC determines the correct route: return MyResult("UserControlName", myModel); Is there a way I can find out the correct route to the control without specifying it manually?

    I have a Qt 4 GUI where I need to have a option in a drop-down menu that allows the user to choose to restart the computer. I realize this might seem redunant with the ability to restart the computer in other ways, but the choice needs to stay there. I've tried using system() to call the following: a suid-root shell script a non-suid shell script a suid-root binary program and all of them just cause reboot: must be superuser to be printed. Using system() to call reboot directly does the same thing. I'm not especially attached to using system() to do this, but it seemed like the most direct choice. How can I reboot the system from the GUI?

    I have a root view controller with no nib file, I tried adding this at cellForRowAtIndexPath as that passes in a UITableView as tableView. So I put : tableView = [[UITableView alloc] initWithFrame:self.view.frame style:UITableViewStyleGrouped]; It ran with no error but it didnt seem to change anything.

  • Iphone SDK- How to insert a banner in my app

    I have a tableview that my app shows when it loads, I would like to somehow put a banner at the bottom that if connceted to the internet will check my server for any new image files and if there are it will replace the current one and if not it will just leave it. That way I can constantly display messages to my users - sort of like in Doodle Jump. How could I achieve this? Thanks

    I'm trying to extract some results from a download manager, the format is: [#8760e4 4.3MiB/40MiB(10%) CN:2 DL:4.9MiB ETA:7s] what I'd like to extract from the above example, would be an array that looks like this: ['4.3','MiB','40','MiB','10%','4.9','MiB','7','s'] I've tried to split this in various combinations, but nothing seems to be right. Would anyone happen to know how to do this or be able to offer suggestions? Thank you!

  • To use an api or store a large dataset in a rails app?

    Hi all- I am working on a site that has the potential to need a LOT of space. Basically we hope to have every video game every created stored in a database along with an image of the cover. There are some api's out there that might be able to help, like GiantBomb's (www.giantbomb.com). We are trying to decide whether to store the data locally and if so where to find that comprehensive a list, or make calls to the api on demand. The problem with the latter is likely latency and also downtime problems. Assuming we want to store it locally here are the questions: 1) Where can we find this kind of data (yes, I looked on google, and no I couldnt find anything:)) 2) What is the most efficient way to encode and store the images?   • Problem with Nulls and an UPDATE statement

    UPDATE TableA SET Value = a.Value * b.AnotherValue FROM TableA AS a INNER JOIN TableB AS b WHERE (Condition is true); Here is the problem. The Value field for TableA does not allow nulls. If the calculation of a.Value * b.AnotherValue yields a null, an error is thrown. Now the question. Is there any way to tell the UPDATE to ignore the SET phase when the result of the calculation is a null and delete the record rather than updating it. This UPDATE is intended to update hundreds of records at a time but will fail if a single null is encountered. Also, please note that using the ISNULL() function and setting the Value to zero is not acceptable. I would like the record to be dropped if a null is encountered. Many thanks in advance for any help rendered.

A.IX x = ...; object.DataContext = x; object.SetBinding(SomeDependencyProperty, new Binding("Prop")); .. } So I have a hidden implementation of an interface with a property "Prop" and I need to bind to this property in code. My problem is that the binding isn't working unless I make class X public. Is there any way around this problem?

  • Sort a DataGridView by DisplayMember

    Hi, I have a DataGridView that is bound to a DataTable. In this table there are some foreign keys. I am then using the CellFormatting event to get the corresponding text from another database table for each foreign key. I want to sort the DataGridView when the user clicks the header. Automatic sorting works but is not correct as it is Sorting on the ValueMember (ForeignKey ID) and not on the DisplayMember (the text). I tried using the SortCompare event but then I read that it does not work on DataGridViews that use the DataSource property. How can this be done? Thanks

In other words, if I scripted out alter statements for all procedures and functions in a database, I'd like to know which of these statements are going to fail? I've been working on cleaning up a database I've inherited which has gone through years of changes and I'd like to what objects are going to raise errors when something tries to execute it.

    Here's some code that illustrates my problem: def blocking1(): while True: yield 'first blocking function example' def blocking2(): while True: yield 'second blocking function example' for i in blocking1(): print 'this will be shown' for i in blocking2(): print 'this will not be shown' I have two functions which contain while True loops. These will yield data which I will then log somewhere (most likely, to an sqlite database). I've been playing around with threading and have gotten it working. However, I don't really like it... What I would like to do is make my blocking functions asynchronous. Something like: def blocking1(callback): while True: callback('first blocking function example') def blocking2(callback): while True: callback('second blocking function example') def log(data): print data blocking1(log) blocking2(log) How can I achieve this in Python? I've seen the standard library comes with asyncore and the big name in this game is Twisted but both of these seem to be used for socket IO. How can I async my non-socket related, blocking functions?
