  • Connecting to SQL database using SQLCMD

    - by kaleidoscope
As we all know, there are a number of ways you can connect to your SQL Azure Database. One of the quick options is to try to connect to SQL server is SQLCMD. To start the SQLCMD utility and connect to a named instance of SQL Server Open a Command Prompt window, and type sqlcmd -S myServer\instanceName. Replace myServer\instanceName with the name of the computer and the instance of SQL Server that you want to connect to. Press ENTER. The sqlcmd prompt (1>) indicates that you are connected to the specified instance of SQL Server. SQL Management Studio offers the facility to use SQLCMD from within SQL scripts by using SQLCMD Mode. How to: Enable SQLCMD mode in the Transact-SQL Editor (About how to start the editor, see How to: Start the Transact-SQL Editor.) To toggle SQLCMD mode from the Data menu 1. Open the query in the Transact-SQL editor. 2. On the Data menu, point to Transact-SQL Editor, and click SQLCMD Mode. To toggle SQLCMD mode from the toolbar 1. Open the query in the Transact-SQL editor. 2. On the Transact-SQL Editor toolbar, click SQLCMD Mode. To toggle SQLCMD mode from the shortcut menu 1. Open the query in the Transact-SQL editor. 2. Right-click anywhere in the editor window, and then click SQLCMD Mode. For more information follow below link http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms170207.aspx   Geeta, G

  • Windows Azure Evolution - Web Sites (aka Antares) Part 1

    - by Shaun
This is the 3rd post of my Windows Azure Evolution series, focus on the new features and enhancement which was alone with the Windows Azure Platform Upgrade June 2012, announced at the MEET Windows Azure event on 7th June. In the first post I introduced the new preview developer portal and how to works for the existing features such as cloud services, storages and SQL databases. In the second one I talked about the Windows Azure .NET SDK 1.7 on the latest Visual Studio 2012 RC on Windows 8. From this one I will begin to introduce some new features. Now let’s have a look on the first one of them, Windows Azure Web Sites.   Overview Windows Azure Web Sites (WAWS), as known as Antares, was a new feature still in preview stage in this upgrade. It allows people to quickly and easily deploy websites to a highly scalable cloud environment, uses the languages and open source apps of the choice then deploy such as FTP, Git and TFS. It also can be integrated with Windows Azure services like SQL Database, Caching, CDN and Storage easily. After read its introduction we may have a question: since we can deploy a website from both cloud service web role and web site, what’s the different between them? So, let’s have a quick compare.   CLOUD SERVICE WEB SITE OS Windows Server Windows Server Virtualization Windows Azure Virtual Machine Windows Azure Virtual Machine Host IIS IIS Platform ASP.NET WebForm, ASP.NET MVC, WCF ASP.NET WebForm, ASP.NET MVC, PHP Language C#, VB.NET C#, VB.NET, PHP Database SQL Database SQL Database, MySQL Architecture Multi layered, background worker, message queuing, etc.. Simple website with backend database. VS Project Windows Azure Cloud Service ASP.NET Web Form, ASP.NET MVC, etc.. Out-of-box Gallery (none) Drupal, DotNetNuke, WordPress, etc.. Deployment Package upload, Visual Studio publish FTP, Git, TFS, WebMatrix Compute Mode Dedicate VM Shared Across VMs, Dedicate VM Scale Scale up, scale out Scale up, scale out As you can see, there are many difference between the cloud service and web site, but the main point is that, the cloud service focus on those complex architecture web application. For example, if you want to build a website with frontend layer, middle business layer and data access layer, with some background worker process connected through the message queue, then you should better use cloud service, since it provides full control of your code and application. But if you just want to build a personal blog or a  business portal, then you can use the web site. Since the web site have many galleries, you can create them even without any coding and configuration. David Pallmann have an awesome figure explains the benefits between the could service, web site and virtual machine.   Create a Personal Blog in Web Site from Gallery As I mentioned above, one of the big feature in WAWS is to build a website from an existing gallery, which means we don’t need to coding and configure. What we need to do is open the windows azure developer portal and click the NEW button, select WEB SITE and FROM GALLERY. In the popping up windows there are many websites we can choose to use. For example, for personal blog there are Orchard CMS, WordPress; for CMS there are DotNetNuke, Drupal 7, mojoPortal. Let’s select WordPress and click the next button. The next step is to configure the web site. We will need to specify the DNS name and select the subscription and region. Since the WordPress uses MySQL as its backend database, we also need to create a MySQL database as well. Windows Azure Web Sites utilize ClearDB to host the MySQL databases. You cannot create a MySQL database directly from SQL Databases section. Finally, since we selected to create a new MySQL database we need to specify the database name and region in the last step. Also we need to accept the ClearDB’s terms as well. Then windows azure platform will download the WordPress codes and deploy the MySQL database and website. Then it will be ready to use. Select the website and click the BROWSE button, the WordPress administration page will be shown. After configured the WordPress here is my personal web blog on the cloud. It took me no more than 10 minutes to establish without any coding.   Monitor, Configure, Scale and Linked Resources Let’s click into the website I had just created in the portal and have a look on what we can do. In the website details page where are five sections. - Dashboard The overall information about this website, such as the basic usage status, public URL, compute mode, FTP address, subscription and links that we can specify the deployment credentials, TFS and Git publish setting, etc.. - Monitor Some status information such as the CPU usage, memory usage etc., errors, etc.. We can add more metrics by clicking the ADD METRICS button and the bottom as well. - Configure Here we can set the configurations of our website such as the .NET and PHP runtime version, diagnostics settings, application settings and the IIS default documents. - Scale This is something interesting. In WAWS there are two compute mode or called web site mode. One is “shared”, which means our website will be shared with other web sites in a group of windows azure virtual machines. Each web site have its own process (w3wp.exe) with some sandbox technology to isolate from others. When we need to scaling-out our web site in shared mode, we actually increased the working process count. Hence in shared mode we cannot specify the virtual machine size since they are shared across all web sites. This is a little bit different than the scaling mode of the cloud service (hosted service web role and worker role). The other mode called “dedicate”, which means our web site will use the whole windows azure virtual machine. This is the same hosting behavior as cloud service web role. In web role it will be deployed on the virtual machines we specified and all of them are only used by us. In web sites dedicate mode, it’s the same. In this mode when we scaling-out our web site we will use more virtual machines, and each of them will only host our own website. And we can specify the virtual machine size in this mode. In the developer portal we can select which mode we are using from the scale section. In shared mode we can only specify the instance count, but in dedicate mode we can specify the instance size as well as the instance count. - Linked Resource The MySQL database created alone with the creation of our WordPress web site is a linked resource. We can add more linked resources in this section.   Pricing For the web site itself, since this feature is in preview period if you are using shared mode, then you will get free up to 10 web sites. But if you are using dedicate mode, the price would be the virtual machines you are using. For example, if you are using dedicate and configured two middle size virtual machines then you will pay $230.40 per month. If there is SQL Database linked to your web site then they will be charged separately based on the Pay-As-You-Go price. For example a 1GB web edition database costs $9.99 per month. And the bandwidth will be charged as well. For example 10GB outbound data transfer costs $1.20 per month. For more information about the pricing please have a look at the windows azure pricing page.   Summary Windows Azure Web Sites gives us easier and quicker way to create, develop and deploy website to window azure platform. Comparing with the cloud service web role, the WAWS have many out-of-box gallery we can use directly. So if you just want to build a blog, CMS or business portal you don’t need to learn ASP.NET, you don’t need to learn how to configure DotNetNuke, you don’t need to learn how to prepare PHP and MySQL. By using WAWS gallery you can establish a website within 10 minutes without any lines of code. But in some cases we do need to code by ourselves. We may need to tweak the layout of our pages, or we may have a traditional ASP.NET or PHP web application which needed to migrated to the cloud. Besides the gallery WAWS also provides many features to download, upload code. It also provides the feature to integrate with some version control services such as TFS and Git. And it also provides the deploy approaches through FTP and Web Deploy. In the next post I will demonstrate how to use WebMatrix to download and modify the website, and how to use TFS and Git to deploy automatically one our code changes committed.   Hope this helps, Shaun All documents and related graphics, codes are provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. • Debugging the NetBeans Platform

    - by Geertjan
Once you've set up the NetBeans Platform sources as your NetBeans Platform, you're able to debug the NetBeans Platform itself. That's an occasional question (certainly not a frequent question) on the mailing list and in NetBeans Platform courses: "Is it possible to debug the NetBeans Platform?" Well, here's how: Firstly, set up the NetBeans Platform sources as your NetBeans Platform. Now, open into NetBeans IDE the NetBeans module where you'd like to place a breakpoint. That in itself is the hardest part of this task. I.e., you know you want to debug the NetBeans Platform, but have no idea where to place your breakpoint. One way to figure that out, from 7.1 onwards, is to take a visual snapshot of the NetBeans Platform and then analyze that snapshot in NetBeans IDE. To do this, right-click a module that you've set as using the NetBeans Platform sources as your NetBeans Platform and then choose Debug. The application, i.e., the NetBeans Platform, including your custom module, starts up and you'll see this, i.e., NetBeans IDE in debug mode together with your NetBeans Platform application:Notice there's a new toolbar button (new in NetBeans IDE 7.1) that resembles an orange camera. Click that button and the IDE creates a visual snapshot of the running application, which in this case is the NetBeans Platform. When you click components in the visual snapshot, the Navigator and Properties window display information about the related GUI component: By clicking the above components, you can end up identifying the component you'd like to debug and even the module where it is found. Open that module. Set a breakpoint on the line of interest. Right-click the module again and choose Debug. A debug session starts and when the breakpoint is hit, the Debugger in the IDE will open and there you can step through the NetBeans Platform sources.

  • Unable to debug simple Java application in Eclipse. Cannot connect to VM. AGENT_ERROR_TRANSPORT_INIT(197)

    - by Heptaparaparshi
When i try to debug a simple application in Eclipse i receive a following error: Cannot connect to VM com.sun.jdi.connect.TransportTimeoutException And console provides me with a lonely string: FATAL ERROR in native method: JDWP No transports initialized, jvmtiError=AGENT_ERROR_TRANSPORT_INIT(197) I have JRE 1.6, JRE 1.7 and JDK 1.7 installed. Tried all of them. I've seen tons of same topics, but not a single answer helped me to solve my issue. Here they are: 1) Disable Firewall. Doesn't help. I have latest Avast ver. 9.0 at the moment. I'm a bit suspicious about that software, because before updating my Avast i was able to debug in Eclipse. I think it may cause this error, but i do not have direct clues :). I may ping my machine, firewall doesn't block Eclipse traffic, etc. 2) Add strings to hosts file. No reaction. ::1 localhost.localdomain localhost 127.0.0.1 localhost 3) Changing Network Settings in Java Control Panel to "Direct" connection. Doubtful advice. Also read that thing: http://wiki.eclipse.org/Debug/FAQ Can anyone help me to find out what is happening? Or guide me in the right direction?

  • Why can't I debug from Visual Studio 2005 after installing IE8?

    - by tjrobinson
I've just installed IE8 (final) and restarted. I can no longer debug Web Application Projects using Visual Studio 2005 on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise R2. I get the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" and then WebDev.WebServer.exe quits with no visible error message and nothing in the Event Viewer. Does anyone have any ideas? Things that haven't helped: Adding localhost to trusted sites Changing the port to 8080 or 80 Checking my hosts file (it's just got 127.0.0.1 localhost in it) Things that have helped a bit: Running (not debugging) with CTRL-F5, which works fine (unless you need to debug) Changing the default Visual Studio browser to Firefox, which allows me to debug My hosts file contains: # Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp. # # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows. # # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name. # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one # space. # # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol. # # For example: # # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host 127.0.0.1 localhost

  • log4net - how do I set DEBUG for my Console output, and INFO for my FileAppender?

    - by Greg
    Hi, I haven't quite worked this one out yet - how do I set DEBUG for my Console output, and INFO for my FileAppender? That is, how would I change the configuration below so that I can get the ConsoleAppender pumping out all logging from DEBUG upwards? Note that both appenders need to cover all logging (i.e. I don't want to use a scoped logger element that changes the log level for just one logger name) <log4net> <root> <level value="INFO" /> <appender-ref ref="LogFileAppender" /> <appender-ref ref="ConsoleAppender" /> </root> <appender name="LogFileAppender" type="log4net.Appender.FileAppender" > <param name="File" value="log-file.txt" /> <param name="AppendToFile" value="true" /> <layout type="log4net.Layout.PatternLayout"> <param name="Header" value="[Header]\r\n"/> <param name="Footer" value="[Footer]\r\n"/> <param name="ConversionPattern" value="%d [%t] %-5p %c [%x] - %m%n" /> </layout> <filter type="log4net.Filter.LevelRangeFilter"> <param name="LevelMin" value="DEBUG" /> <param name="LevelMax" value="WARN" /> </filter> </appender> <appender name="ConsoleAppender" type="log4net.Appender.ConsoleAppender" > <layout type="log4net.Layout.PatternLayout"> <param name="ConversionPattern" value="%d [%t] %-5p %c [%x] - %m%n" /> </layout> </appender> </log4net>

  • How to debug into my apache module built using a Makefile?

    - by AJ
Firstly, I come from Windows-VisualStudio-C++ background. Now I am developing in a Ubuntu environment. With the help of a Makefile, I built a mymodule.so and copied it to the modules folder within apache. Now, it appears that the module is working fine. But I would like to debug into this module to understand it better. So, first, is there any way I can get something similar to the Visual Studio debugger type of feel while debugging this module? Now, i read that i can use gdb to debug into apache modules, can somebody tell me in detail how this is done or point me to some resource that does it. Ideally, i would like to single step and stuff. I am trying Code::Blocks IDE which has some debugging support. Using the IDE and custom make file, I build the module. Copied it to module location, but how do i debug. How do i hook to the apache process. Should I use Attach to Process. I tried that with the pid of httpd, but with no success. Also, while building is there some flag that i should set so that the .so file is debuggable? I am pretty basic with Linux because i come from windows programming background. Kindly suggest how I go about this. Thanks in advance, Arjun

  • How do I run NUnit in debug mode from Visual Studio?

    - by Jon Cage
I've recently been building a test framework for a bit of C# I've been working on. I have NUnit set up and a new project within my workspace to test the component. All works well if I load up my unit tests from Nunit (v2.4), but I've got to the point where it would be really useful to run in debug mode and set some break points. I've tried the suggestions from several guides which all suggest changing the 'Debug' properties of the test project: Start external program: C:\Program Files\NUnit 2.4.8\bin\nunit-console.exe Command line arguments: /assembly: <full-path-to-solution>\TestDSP\bin\Debug\TestDSP.dll I'm using the console version there, but have tried the calling the GUI as well. Both give me the same error when I try and start debugging: Cannot start test project 'TestDSP' because the project does not contain any tests. Is this because I normally load \DSP.nunit into the Nunit GUI and that's where the tests are held? I'm beginning to think the problem may be that VS wants to run it's own test framework and that's why it's failing to find the NUnit tests? [Edit] To those asking about test fixtures, one of my .cs files in the TestDSP project looks roughly like this: namespace Some.TestNamespace { // Testing framework includes using NUnit.Framework; [TestFixture] public class FirFilterTest { /// <summary> /// Tests that a FirFilter can be created /// </summary> [Test] public void Test01_ConstructorTest() { ...some tests... } } } ...I'm pretty new to C# and the Nunit test framework so it's entirely possible I've missed some crucial bit of information ;-) [FINAL SOLUTION] The big problem was the project I'd used. If you pick: Other Languages->Visual C#->Test->Test Project ...when you're choosing the project type, Visual Studio will try and use it's own testing framework as far as I can tell. You should pick a normal c# class library project instead and then the instructions in my selected answer will work.

  • Why is my toolbar not visible when in landscape mode?

    - by mr-sk
My aim was to get the application functioning in both landscape and portrait mode, and all I could figure out to do it was this code below. The app was working fine in portrait, but when switched to landscape, the text wouldn't expand (to the right) to fill up the additional space. I made sure my springs/struts where set, and that the parents had "allowResizing" selected in IB. Here's what I've done instead: - (void) willAnimateSecondHalfOfRotationFromInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)fromInterfaceOrientation duration: (NSTimeInterval)duration { UIInterfaceOrientation toInterfaceOrientation = self.interfaceOrientation; if (toInterfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait) { self.myView.frame = CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, 320.0, 480.0); } else { self.myView.frame = CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, 480.0, 256.0); } } Note that it looks just fine in portrait mode (toolbar appears): But the toolbar is gone in landscape mode: Any ideas?

  • How do I detect if a display is in High Contrast mode?

    - by banjollity
I'm testing my company's established Swing application for accessibility issues. With high contrast mode enabled on my PC certain parts of this application are rendered properly (white-on-black) and some incorrectly (black-on-white). The bits that are correct are the native components (JButton, JLabel and whatnot) and third party components from the likes of JIDE. The incorrect bits are custom components and renderers developed in-house without consideration for high-contrast mode. Clearly it's possible to detect when high-contrast mode is enabled. How do I do this?

  • Can I have an XHTML document with an XML declaration in standards mode for IE6?

    - by user225643
I've been reading about this for the last half hour, and here's what I understand: IE 6 will render a page in standards mode if there's a valid DTD, but not if there are any comments above the DTD. The XML declaration is a comment that goes above the DTD. If the XML declaration is wrapped in a conditional comment, the page will render in IE 6 in quirks mode but be invalid XHTML. Are there any workarounds to getting valid XHTML with an XML declaration to render in standards mode in IE6? If not, what are the disadvantages of removing the XML declaration entirely? Thanks.

  • How do I get the median/mode/range of a column in SQL using Java?

    - by Derek
I have to get the median, mode and range of test scores from one column in a table but I am unsure how to go about doing that. When you connect to the database using java, you are normally returned a ResultSet that you can make a table or something out of but how do you get particular numbers or digits? Is there an SQL command to get the median/mode/range or will I have to calculate this myself, and how do you pull out numbers from the table in order to be able to calculate the mode/median/range? Thanks.

I am trying to write a caesar cipher program in c++. This is my codes template: int chooseKEY (){ //choose key shift from 1-26 } void encrypt (char * w, char *e, int key) { //Encryption function, *w is the text in the beginning, the *e is the encrypted text //Encryption in being made only in letters noy in numbers and punctuations // *e = *w + key } void decrypt (char * e, char *w, int key) { // Decryption function, *e is the text in the beginning, the *w is the decrypted text //Dencryption in being made only in letters no numbers and punctuations // *w = *e - key } void Caesar (char * inputFile, char * outputFile, int key, int mode) { // Read the inputfile which contains some data. If mode ==1 then the data is being //encrypted else if mode == 0 the data is being decrypted and is being written in //the output file } void main() { // call the Caesar function } The program has four functions, chooseKey function have to return an int as a shift key from 1-26. Encrypt function has three parameters, *w is the text in the beginning, *e is the encrypted text and the key is from the choosekey function. For encryption : Only letters have to be encrypted not numbers or punctuation and the letters are counting cyclic. Decrypt function has three parameters *e is the encrypted text, *w is the beginning text and the key. Caesar function has four parameters, inputfile which is the file that contains the beginning text, output file which contains the encrypted text, the key and the mode (if mode==1) encryption, (mode ==0) decryption. This is my sample code: #include <iostream> #include <fstream> using namespace std; int chooseKey() { int key_number; cout << "Give a number from 1-26: "; cin >> key_number; while(key_number<1 || key_number>26) { cout << "Your number have to be from 1-26.Retry: "; cin >> key_number; } return key_number; } void encryption(char *w, char *e, int key){ char *ptemp = w; while(*ptemp){ if(isalpha(*ptemp)){ if(*ptemp>='a'&&*ptemp<='z') { *ptemp-='a'; *ptemp+=key; *ptemp%=26; *ptemp+='A'; } } ptemp++; } w=e; } void decryption (char *e, char *w, int key){ char *ptemp = e; while(*ptemp){ if(isalpha(*ptemp)) { if(*ptemp>='A'&&*ptemp<='Z') { *ptemp-='A'; *ptemp+=26-key; *ptemp%=26; *ptemp+='a'; } } ptemp++; } e=w; } void Caesar (char *inputFile, char *outputFile, int key, int mode) { ifstream input; ofstream output; char buf, buf1; input.open(inputFile); output.open(outputFile); buf=input.get(); while(!input.eof()) { if(mode == 1){ encryption(&buf, &buf1, key); }else{ decryption(&buf1, &buf, key); } output << buf; buf=input.get(); } input.close(); output.close(); } int main(){ int key, mode; key = chooseKey(); cout << "1 or 0: "; cin >> mode; Caesar("test.txt","coded.txt",key,mode); system("pause"); } I am trying to run the code and it is being crashed (Debug Assertion Failed). I think the problem is somewhere inside Caesar function. How to call the encrypt and decrypt functions. But i don't know what exactly is. Any ideas?

  • Tailoring the Oracle Fusion Applications User Interface with Oracle Composer

    - by mvaughan
By Killian Evers, Oracle Applications User Experience Changing the user interface (UI) is one of the most common modifications customers perform to Oracle Fusion Applications. Typically, customers add or remove a field based on their needs. Oracle makes the process of tailoring easier for customers, and reduces the burden for their IT staff, which you can read about on the Usable Apps website or in an earlier VoX post. This is the first in a series of posts that will talk about the tools that Oracle has provided for tailoring with its family of composers. These tools are designed for business systems analysts, and they allow employees other than IT staff to make changes in an upgrade-safe and patch-friendly manner. Let’s take a deep dive into one of these composers, the Oracle Composer. Oracle Composer allows business users to modify existing UIs after they have been deployed and are in use. It is an integral component of our SaaS offering. Using Oracle Composer, users can control:     •    Who sees the changes     •    When the changes are made     •    What changes are made Change for me, change for you, change for all of youOne of the most powerful aspects of Oracle Composer is its flexibility. Oracle uses Oracle Composer to make changes for a user or group of users – those who see the changes. A user of Oracle Fusion Applications can make changes to the user interface at runtime via Oracle Composer, and these changes will remain every time they log into the system. For example, they can rearrange certain objects on a page, add and remove designated content, and save queries.Business systems analysts can make changes to Oracle Fusion Application UIs for groups of users or all users. Oracle’s Fusion Middleware Metadata Services (MDS) stores these changes and retrieves them at runtime, merging customizations with the base metadata and revealing the final experience to the end user. A tailored application can have multiple customization layers, and some layers can be specific to certain Fusion Applications. Some examples of customization layers are: site, organization, country, or role. Customization layers are applied in a specific order of precedence on top of the base application metadata. This image illustrates how customization layers are applied. What time is it?Users make changes to UIs at design time, runtime, and design time at runtime. Design time changes are typically made by application developers using an integrated development environment, or IDE, such as Oracle JDeveloper. Once made, these changes are then deployed to managed servers by application administrators. Oracle Composer covers the other two areas: Runtime changes and design time at runtime changes. When we say users are making changes at runtime, we mean that the changes are made within the running application and take effect immediately in the running application. A prime example of this ability is users who make changes to their running application that only affect the UIs they see. What is new with Oracle Composer is the last area: Design time at runtime.  A business systems analyst can make changes to the UIs at runtime but does not have to make those changes immediately to the application. These changes are stored as metadata, separate from the base application definitions. Customizations made at runtime can be saved in a sandbox so that the changes can be isolated and validated before being published into an environment, without the need to redeploy the application. What can I do?Oracle Composer can be run in one of two modes. Depending on which mode is chosen, you may have different capabilities available for changing the UIs. The first mode is view mode, the most common default mode for most pages. This is the mode that is used for personalizations or user customizations. Users can access this mode via the Personalization link (see below) in the global region on Oracle Fusion Applications pages. In this mode, you can rearrange components on a page with drag-and-drop, collapse or expand components, add approved external content, and change the overall layout of a page. However, all of the changes made this way are exclusive to that particular user. The second mode, edit mode, is typically made available to select users with access privileges to edit page content. We call these folks business systems analysts. This mode is used to make UI changes for groups of users. Users with appropriate privileges can access the edit mode of Oracle Composer via the Administration menu (see below) in the global region on Oracle Fusion Applications pages. In edit mode, users can also add components, delete components, and edit component properties. While in edit mode in Oracle Composer, there are two views that assist the business systems analyst with making UI changes: Design View and Source View (see below). Design View, the default view, is a WYSIWYG rendering of the page and its content. The business systems analyst can perform these actions: Add content – including custom content like a portlet displaying news or stock quotes, or predefined content delivered from Oracle Fusion Applications (including ADF components and task flows) Rearrange content – performed via drag-and-drop on the page or by using the actions menu of a component or portlet to move content around Edit component properties and parameters – for specific components, control the visual properties such as text or display labels, or parameters such as RSS feeds Hide or show components – hidden components can be re-shown Delete components Change page layout – users can select from eight pre-defined layouts Edit page properties – create or edit a page’s parameters and display properties Reset page customizations – remove edits made to the page in the current layer and/or reset the page to a previous state. Detailed information on each of these capabilities and the additional actions not covered in the list above can be found in the Oracle® Fusion Middleware Developer's Guide for Oracle WebCenter. This image shows what the screen looks like in Design View.Source View, the second option in the edit mode of Oracle Composer, provides a WYSIWYG and a hierarchical rendering of page components in a component navigator. In Source View, users can access and modify properties of components that are not otherwise selectable in Design View. For example, many ADF Faces components can be edited only in Source View. Users can also edit components within a task flow. This image shows what the screen looks like in Source View.Detailed information on Source View can be found in the Oracle® Fusion Middleware Developer's Guide for Oracle WebCenter.Oracle Composer enables any application or portal to be customized or personalized after it has been deployed and is in use. It is designed to be extremely easy to use so that both business systems analysts and users can edit Oracle Fusion Applications pages with a few clicks of the mouse. Oracle Composer runs in all modern browsers and provides a rich, dynamic way to edit JSF application and portal pages. From the editor: The next post in this series about composers will be on Data Composer. You can also catch Killian speaking about extensibility at OpenWorld 2012 and in her Faces of Fusion video.

  • Linking errors when building against Boost Unit Test Framework

    - by Rafid
I am trying to use Boost Unit Test Framework by building a stand alone library as detailed here: http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_35_0/libs/test/doc/components/utf/compilation.html So I created a VC library project containing the mentioned files and build it and it was successful. Then I created a test project and referenced the library project I just created, but when I tried to build it, I got the following linking errors: 1>Type.obj : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol "bool __cdecl boost::test_tools::tt_detail::check_impl(class boost::test_tools::predicate_result const &,class boost::unit_test::lazy_ostream const &,class boost::unit_test::basic_cstring<char const >,unsigned __int64,enum boost::test_tools::tt_detail::tool_level,enum boost::test_tools::tt_detail::check_type,unsigned __int64,...)" Any ideas?!

  • Sorted exsl:node-set. Return node by it position.

    - by kalininew
    Good afternoon, gentlemen. Help me solve a very simple task. I have a set of nodes <menuList> <mode name="aasdf"/> <mode name="vfssdd"/> <mode name="aswer"/> <mode name="ddffe"/> <mode name="ffrthjhj"/> <mode name="dfdf"/> <mode name="vbdg"/> <mode name="wewer"/> <mode name="mkiiu"/> <mode name="yhtyh"/> and so on... </menuList> I have it sorted now this way <xsl:variable name="rtf"> <xsl:for-each select="//menuList/mode"> <xsl:sort data-type="text" order="ascending" select="@name"/> <xsl:value-of select="@name"/> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:variable> Now I need to get an arbitrary element in the sorted array to the number of its position. I write code <xsl:value-of select="exsl:node-set($rtf)[position() = 3]"/> and get a response error. How to do it right?

  • DHCP request error. Send_packet now permitted, How to debug, What does it mean

    - by Sparsh Gupta
Hello I recently installed CSF firewall and have made live a new server which is accepting around 600req/second. Its basically a reverse proxy and I found in pingdom and munin that for a particular time, the response times of the server increased by 3 folds. I looked into logs and exactly at that point, I found loads of entries like this: Feb 27 15:22:09 li235-57 dhclient: DHCPREQUEST of <My IP address> on eth0 to 207.192.68.72 port 67 Feb 27 15:22:09 li235-57 dhclient: send_packet: Operation not permitted Can you help me understand what went wrong and what exactly happened. Is there any settings I should change in CSF or any pointer to debug this further Thanks

  • PostgreSQL 9.1 on Ubuntu Lucid fails to start - how to debug?

    - by Tom Fakes
I'm using Vagrant with Chef Solo to setup a Lucid 64 box. I'm using a Chef recipe to install PostgreSQL 9.1 from Martin Pitt's backports. The install goes ok until the point where the database is started with /etc/init.d/postgresql start There's a log pause and the command fails. If I run pg_ctl manually, the database starts! The entire contents of my postgresql-9.1-main log file is: 2012-05-07 11:01:18 PDT LOG: database system was shut down at 2012-05-07 11:01:16 PDT 2012-05-07 11:01:18 PDT LOG: database system is ready to accept connections 2012-05-07 11:01:18 PDT LOG: autovacuum launcher started 2012-05-07 11:01:18 PDT LOG: incomplete startup packet 2012-05-07 11:01:26 PDT LOG: received fast shutdown request 2012-05-07 11:01:26 PDT LOG: aborting any active transactions 2012-05-07 11:01:26 PDT LOG: autovacuum launcher shutting down 2012-05-07 11:01:26 PDT LOG: shutting down 2012-05-07 11:01:26 PDT LOG: database system is shut down I've tried to change the postgresql config file to get more info into the logfile, but that hasn't worked at all. How do I debug this to find out what is failing so I can fix it?

  • How do I debug why an OSX key binding stopped working?

    - by nall
Recently, I've realized that my ^A key binding has stopped working in OSX. My assumption is that some application has registered ^A as a hotkey, but I don't know that for certain. I don't recall installing anything new lately, but it's certainly possible that I did and just forgot. Some other pertinent info: ^A doesn't work in any application -- this isn't just a Terminal.app issue Other control combos (eg: ^E) still work as expected Looking through the Keyboard System Preferences pane shows nothing bound to ^A A reboot doesn't help However, logging into under a freshly made account does cause the issue to go away (i.e.: ^A works for the test account) My StandardKeyBinding.dict has the correct value for ^A Note: I don't have a DefaultKeyBinding.dict in /Library/KeyBindings or ~/Library/KeyBindings Any ideas on how to debug this?

  • WIFI connection interfering with Windows Server 2003 Active Directory domain. (How to debug?)

    - by Vinko Vrsalovic
RELATED: This question has led me to ask this one. I had to change our unnamed crappy ADSL router to a crappy Comtrend CT-5361 WiFi router, now every WiFi connection to the domain doesn't work correctly: Joining the domain is impossible (see related question) Logging into the domain takes ages Authentication usually fails Question: How to debug this and pinpoint the exact problem? I have no enough knowledge on either WiFi networks or on Active Directory to know which connections are made at which stages nor how to check what's happening at the wireless level to compare what should happen to what is happening. I'm looking for resources to learn what should be happening and tools to detect what is actually happening (I expect a sniffer should be enough, but if there are better, more specialized tools, that'd be great).

  • What exactly is the "Multi-threaded Debug DLL" Runtime Library option doing in VS 2008?

    - by GregH
I have a solution in VS 2008 that creates a DLL. I then use that DLL in another application. If I go in to the DLL projects property pages and change the following configuration for a DEBUG build then the built dll no long provides the desired functionality. If I change it back and rebuild the DLL, then the DLL does provide the correct functionality: Property Pages = Configuration Properties = C/C++ = Code Generation = Runtime Library If set to "Multi-threaded Debug DLL (/MDd)" then everything works as it should. I get the correct functionality from the DLL If set to "Multi-threaded DLL (/MD)" then the DLL does not function properly...no runtime errors or anything, it just doesn't work (The DLL is supposed to plot some lines on a map but does not in this mode). So the question is, why does using the /MDd flag result in correction functionality of the underlying code, while /MD results in incorrect functionality? A little background...somebody else developed the DLL in C++ and I am using this DLL in a VB.net application.

  • ASUS N56VZ-S4209P Screen saver, Screen dimming,sleep/hibernation mode not working according to power management settings

    - by Alto Roos
I have a problem with my ASUS N56VZ-S4209P(Win8, I7-3630QM) laptop. If I use the fn+f7 command to turn off the screen it turns on by itself after a few seconds (the time varies between 1-10 seconds). In addition to this my screensaver doesn't activate at all and the laptop doesn't dim its screen after X minutes or goes into sleep/hibernation mode as specified in the power options when plugged in or on battery. As far as my knowledge goes it's not caused by the mouse or track pad at all since I can unplug my mouse and disable the track pad but the problem persist. I presume this is caused by the same problem? Does anyone know of a fix for this problem? It would be greatly appreciated. . . . I seem to have found a solution to the problem related to the screen that turns itself on again. The Power4Gear application has a setting which enables you to turn a "Presentation mode" "On" and "Off", if that setting is "Off" then it doesn't turn the screen on without any human interaction. Thus that part of the problem is fixed.

  • How to hide/show controls in UITableViewCell when it goes in/out of editing mode?

    - by Aleksandar Vacic
I have few custom controls (image views) added programmatically to table cell. I want to hide them when table view goes into editing mode and show them again when view gets out of editing mode. I'm not using UITableViewCell subclasses, controls are added through tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath: method. When and where should I do the hide/show? I'm wondering is this even possible without subclassing (where I could do this in layoutSubviews)...
