  • Next project. GW or webOS enyo framework [closed]

    I'm considering the use of GWT for next project. We already know java and the front-end its already writteng in Android java (not the same at all, but its a starting point). We are also considering enyo framework, from HP's webOS. Its seem interesting and its only javascript for everything. Does anybody have tested it yet?.     I am a CS major. I've taken 2 courses in C (Intro to C and CS1) and 1 introductory course to OOP with Java. I really like Java and feel that I have a firm understanding of OOP concepts. I am really interested in web development and would like to learn a programming language that can be used to build dynamic web applications. My question is what language should I learn? I've narrowed it down to python or ruby. Also, I want to learn a programming language that will help me get a job upon graduating. So essentially, I will use this particular language to build applications that will help me get a job in the future.

Ideally, commonly used Java packages like: java.io.* java.util.* should be automatically imported, so that I can copy and paste code from a class without having to add a bunch of imports. I read somewhere that introducing closures in java is a bigger change than generic was in java 5. Is this true? pros and cons? I can an error however, java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException To create the data source im using SysWoW64 odbcad32 and adding it the datasource to system DNS. I say this as i have seen else where there are problems which occur with 64bit systems. However it still doesn't work for me.     Hi I have an Eclipse CDT enviroment up and running and customised just the way I like it. I'm also going to be heavily dealing with java soon and I don't want to install a seperate version of Eclipse just to get the java features as I'll be switching between C-C++-ADA-Java quite often so I'd wont the one IDE to support all languages. At the moment I've got C/C++ and Ada working together (CDT + GNAT workbench). How can I get the Eclipse Java IDE with out installing eclipse from scratch again. Thanks

Therefore, I need Java programs---in best case used in production---and appropriate benchmarks. For instance, I already got HyperSQL and measure its performance by the benchmark program PolePosition. The Java programs running on a JVM without JIT compiler. Thanks for your help! P.S.: I cannot use programs to benchmark the performance of the JVM or of the Java language itself (such as Wide Finder).

    I have a Java website, now Ive build an uploader, the validation for JPG images is done and a way to save it into the server it is too. But now I need to create an utility class using isGIF and isTIFF validated them by byte[] and convert that byte[] to java.awt.Image to save as JPG So basically I need boolean isGIF(byte[]), boolean isTIFF(byte[]), java.awt.Image convertGIF(byte[]) and java.awt.Image convertTIFF(byte[]). But I have no idea how to do it, could someone help me please? Thank you!
