    Consider the following MS SQL Server table: ID | X | Y ------+-------+------- 1 | 1 | 1 2 | 1 | 2 3 | 1 | 3 4 | 2 | 40 5 | 2 | 500 6 | 3 | 1 7 | 3 | 100 8 | 3 | 10 I need to select the ID of the row that has the maximum value of Y grouped by x, i.e: ID | X | Y ------+-------+------- 3 | 1 | 3 5 | 2 | 500 7 | 3 | 100 The query will be nested several times so an optimal performance solution is required...     My project currently contains two largish property lists. One is currently 20KB; another is 8KB. So far, I have been maintaining them with xCode's property list editor. This is manageable but also a bit clunky. I am wondering if other people have better ways of doing this? So far, my lists consist of nested arrays of strings. The depth is not uniform.

I've tried .clone stuff, which works great for copying the row verbatim, but it doesn't keep track of the number of rows dynamically like I need it to. So basically I've pared it down to needing to find out how to mess with the name of each input so that it can reflect the loop index appropriately, so Catalyst::Plugin::Params::Nested will build the correct structure. Thoughts?

In the end, I would like to have a nested-array containing each posts, with the next details: An array of the related comments Likes Views Obviously, I don't ask for any code, only a reference to the related API I will need to use. EDIT: If this is not possible, should I consider cURL as an option?

    I'm trying to generate top-level abstract class with JCodeModel library, but I can't find any way to change class modifiers. It's possible for nested classes (JDefinedClass API provides methods that get modifiers as parameters). But for creation of top level classes I found only JCodeModel API methods that get fully qualified name with or without ClassType (class/interface/annotation/enum) as parameters. Does anybody can suggest me how to change modifiers of JDefinedClass to make it abstract?

  • Any Javascript optimization benchmarks?

    I watched Nicholas Zakas' talk, Speed up your Javascript, with some interest. I liked how he benchmarked the various performance improvements created by various optimization techniques, e.g. reducing calls to deeply nested objects, changing loops to count down instead of up, etc. I would like to run these benchmarks myself though, to see exactly how our current browsers are faring. I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to cook up some timed loops, but I'd like to know if there are any existing implementations out there.

    How can I convert a given object (in a generic way with reflection) to pretty printable HTML? What ready made library do you recommend that does this? I need support for simple nested objects (as long as they don't create loops in the object graph). I tried to convert it to JSON, but DefaultPrettyPrinter is not HTML friendly.

    Hi, In an if statement with multiple conditions is second executed if the outcome is clear after checking the first condition? example: if(i>0 && array[i]==0){ } If I swap the conditions a seg fault may occur for negative values of i but this way the memory debugger doesn't find a problem. Can I be sure that this works always or do have have to use nested if statements?

Basically I need a simplicity like this: values = numpy.array(inp.data) idx1 = numpy.where(values > -2.14) idx2 = numpy.where(values < 2.0) res1 = (values[idx1] - diff1)/1000 res1 = (values[idx2] - diff2)*1000 In python it's just 5 lines, but the simplest way in C++ i can think of is quite a number of nested loops.     Hi everyone, I'm trying to find an elegant way in Coffeescript to merge an array of arrays, so that [[1,2,3],[4,5,6],[7,8,9]] == [1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9]. As you might imagine, I need this because I'm generating arrays from a function in a "for in" construct and need to concatenate the resulting nested array: result = (generate_array(x) for x in arr) Is there an elegant way to handle this?
