  • NoMethodError when using .where (eager fetching)

    - by Ethan Leroy
I have the following model classes... class Image < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :description, :title has_many :imageTags has_many :tags, :through => :imageTags end class Tag < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :name has_many :imageTags has_many :images, :through => :imageTags end class ImageTag < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :position belongs_to :image belongs_to :tag end And when I use find for getting the Tag with the id 1 t = Tag.find(1); @images = t.images; But when I do the same with where, I get a NoMethodError, with the description undefined method 'images': t = Tag.where(:name => "foo"); @images = t.images; I also tried adding .includes(:images) before the .where statement, but that doesn't work too. So, how can I get all Images that belong to a Tag?

  • How To Make Hundreds of Complex Photo Edits in Seconds With Photoshop Actions

    - by Eric Z Goodnight
Have a huge folder of images needing tweaks? A few hundred adjustments may seem like a big, time consuming job—but read one to see how Photoshop can do repetitive tasks automatically, even if you don’t know how to program! Photoshop Actions are a simple way to program simple routines in Photoshop, and are a great time saver, allowing you to re-perform tasks over and over, saving you minutes or hours, depending on the job you have to work on. See how any bunch of images and even some fairly complicated photo tweaking can be done automatically to even hundreds of images at once. When Can I use Photoshop Actions? Photoshop actions are a way of recording the tools, menus, and keys pressed while using the program. Each time you use a tool, adjust a color, or use the brush, it can be recorded and played back over any file Photoshop can open. While it isn’t perfect and can get very confused if not set up correctly, it can automate editing hundreds of images, saving you hours and hours if you have big jobs with complex edits. The image illustrated above is a template for a polaroid-style picture frame. If you had several hundred images, it would actually be a simple matter to use Photoshop Actions to create hundreds of new images inside the frame in almost no time at all. Let’s take a look at how a simple folder of images and some Image editing automation can turn lots of work into a simple and easy job. Creating a New Action Actions is a default part of the “Essentials” panel set Photoshop begins with as a default. If you can’t see the panel button under the “History” button, you can find Actions by going to Window > Actions or pressing Alt + F9. Click the in the Actions Panel, pictured in the previous illustration on the left. Choose to create a “New Set” in order to begin creating your own custom Actions. Name your action set whatever you want. Names are not relevant, you’ll simply want to make it obvious that you have created it. Click OK. Look back in the layers panel. You’ll see your new Set of actions has been added to the list. Click it to highlight it before going on. Click the again to create a “New Action” in your new set. If you care to name your action, go ahead. Name it after whatever it is you’re hoping to do—change the canvas size, tint all your pictures blue, send your image to the printer in high quality, or run multiple filters on images. The name is for your own usage, so do what suits you best. Note that you can simplify your process by creating shortcut keys for your actions. If you plan to do hundreds of edits with your actions, this might be a good idea. If you plan to record an action to use every time you use Photoshop, this might even be an invaluable step. When you create a new Action, Photoshop automatically begins recording everything you do. It does not record the time in between steps, but rather only the data from each step. So take your time when recording and make sure you create your actions the way you want them. The square button stops recording, and the circle button starts recording again. With these basics ready, we can take a look at a sample Action. Recording a Sample Action Photoshop will remember everything you input into it when it is recording, even specific photographs you open. So begin recording your action when your first photo is already open. Once your first image is open, click the record button. If you’re already recording, continue on. Using the File > Place command to insert the polaroid image can be easier for Actions to deal with. Photoshop can record with multiple open files, but it often gets confused when you try it. Keep your recordings as simple as possible to ensure your success. When the image is placed in, simply press enter to render it. Select your background layer in your layers panel. Your recording should be following along with no trouble. Double click this layer. Double clicking your background layer will create a new layer from it. Allow it to be renamed “Layer 0” and press OK. Move the “polaroid” layer to the bottom by selecting it and dragging it down below “Layer 0” in the layers panel. Right click “Layer 0” and select “Create Clipping Mask.” The JPG image is cropped to the layer below it. Coincidentally, all actions described here are being recorded perfectly, and are reproducible. Cursor actions, like the eraser, brush, or bucket fill don’t record well, because the computer uses your mouse movements and coordinates, which may need to change from photo to photo. Click the to set your Photograph layer to a “Screen” blending mode. This will make the image disappear when it runs over the white parts of the polaroid image. With your image layer (Layer 0) still selected, navigate to Edit > Transform > Scale. You can use the mouse to resize your Layer 0, but Actions work better with absolute numbers. Visit the Width and Height adjustments in the top options panel. Click the chain icon to link them together, and adjust them numerically. Depending on your needs, you may need to use more or less than 30%. Your image will resize to your specifications. Press enter to render, or click the check box in the top right of your application. + Click on your bottom layer, or “polaroid” in this case. This creates a selection of the bottom layer. Navigate to Image > Crop in order to crop down to your bottom layer selection Your image is now resized to your bottommost layer, and Photoshop is still recording to that effect. For additional effect, we can navigate to Image > Image Rotation > Arbitrary to rotate our image by a small tilt. Choosing 3 degrees clockwise , we click OK to render our choice. Our image is rotated, and this step is recorded. Photoshop will even record when you save your files. With your recording still going, find File > Save As. You can easily tell Photoshop to save in a new folder, other than the one you have been working in, so that your files aren’t overwritten. Navigate to any folder you wish, but do not change the filename. If you change the filename, Photoshop will record that name, and save all your images under whatever you type. However, you can change your filetype without recording an absolute filename. Use the pulldown tab and select a different filetype—in this instance, PNG. Simply click “Save” to create a new PNG based on your actions. Photoshop will record the destination and the change in filetype. If you didn’t edit the name of your file, it will always use the variable filename of any image you open. (This is very important if you want to edit hundreds of images at once!) Click File > Close or the red “X” in the corner to close your filetype. Photoshop can record that as well. Since we have already saved our image as a JPG, click “NO” to not overwrite your original image. Photoshop will also record your choice of “NO” for subsequent images. In your Actions panel, click the stop button to complete your action. You can always click the record button to add more steps later, if you want. This is how your new action looks with its steps expanded. Curious how to put it into effect? Read on to see how simple it is to use that recording you just made. Editing Lots of Images with Your New Action Open a large number of images—as many as you care to work with. Your action should work immediately with every image on screen, although you may have to test and re-record, depending on how you did. Actions don’t require any programming knowledge, but often can get confused or work in a counter-intuitive way. Record your action until it is perfect. If it works once without errors, it’s likely to work again and again! Find the “Play” button in your Actions Panel. With your custom action selected, click “Play” and your routine will edit, save, and close each file for you. Keep bashing “Play” for each open file, and it will keep saving and creating new files until you run out of work you need to do. And in mere moments, a complicated stack of work is done. Photoshop actions can be very complicated, far beyond what is illustrated here, and can even be combined with scripts and other actions, creating automated creation of potentially very complex files, or applying filters to an entire portfolio of digital photos. • Moving while doing loop animation in RPGMaker

    - by AzDesign
I made a custom class to display character portrait in RPGMaker XP Here is the class : class Poser attr_accessor :images def initialize @images = Sprite.new @images.bitmap = RPG::Cache.picture('Character.png') #100x300 @images.x = 540 #place it on the bottom right corner of the screen @images.y = 180 end end Create an event on the map to create an instance as global variable, tada! image popped out. Ok nice. But Im not satisfied, Now I want it to have bobbing-head animation-like (just like when we breathe, sometimes bob our head up and down) so I added another method : def move(x,y) @images.x += x @images.y += y end def animate(x,y,step, delay) forward = true 2.times { step.times { wait(delay) if forward move(x/step,y/step) else move(-x/step,-y/step) end } wait(delay*3) forward = false } end def wait(time) while time > 0 time -= 1 Graphics.update end end I called the method to run the animation and it works, so far so good, but the problem is, WHILE the portrait goes up and down, I cannot move my character until the animation is finished. So that's it, I'm stuck in the loop block, what I want is to watch the portrait moving up and down while I walk around village, talk to npc, etc. Anyone can solve my problem ? Or better solution ? Thanks in advance

  • How can I most efficiently batch resize images on a Mac?

    - by Nick Douglas
I've been batch-resizing images through Preview (OS X) through the menu bar, but I want a simpler workflow, since I do this a dozen times a day. What I want: 1. Select a group of image files in finder 2. Hit a button or two (menu item or keyboard shortcut) to do the following: a. Scale all the pictures to 600 pixels wide b. Save as JPG files at 75% quality What I also want: - All of the above, plus step a(1): Crop images to 200 pixel height I can do all that manually, to a batch of files, through Preview. I can do it one at a time with some keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop or Pixelmator. Automator (using Preview) can scale to 600 pixels on the longest dimension, but it doesn't let me specify width. (It can scale specifically to width before cropping height.) It can change to JPG, but it can't specify image quality. And I can assign a keyboard shortcut to the whole process. Is that my best option on a Mac? Can I accomplish this more efficiently through another app like Quicksilver?

  • Inconsistent file downloads of (what should be) the same file

    - by Austin A.
I'm working on a system that archives large collections of timetstamped images. Part of the system deals with saving an image to a growing .zip file. This morning I noticed that the log system said that an image was successfully downloaded and placed in the zip file, but when I downloaded the .zip (from an apache alias running on our server), the images didn't match the log. For example, although the log said that camera 3484 captured on January 17, 2011, when I download from the apache alias, the downloaded zip file only contains images up to January 14. So, I sshed onto the server, and unzipped the file in its own directory, and that zip file has images from January 14 to today (January 17). What strikes me as odd is that this should be the exact same file as the one I downloaded from the apache alias. Other experiments: I scp-ed the file from the server to my local machine, and the zip file has the newer images. But when I use an SCP client (in this case, Fugu for OSX), I get the zip file for the older images. In short: unzipping a file on the server or after downloading through scp or after downloading through wget gives one zip file, but unzipping a file from Chrome, Firefox, or SCP client gives a different zip file, when they should be exactly the same. • GROUP_CONCAT in CodeIgniter

    - by mickaelb91
    I'm just blocking to how create my group_concat with my sql request in CodeIgniter. All my queries are listed in a table, using Jtable library. All work fine, except when I try to insert GROUP_CONCAT. Here's my model page : function list_all() { $login_id = $this->session->userdata('User_id'); $this->db->select('p.project_id, p.Project, p.Description, p.Status, p.Thumbnail, t.Template'); $this->db->from('assigned_projects_ppeople a'); $this->db->where('people_id', $login_id); $this->db->join('projects p', 'p.project_id = a.project_id'); $this->db->join('project_templates t', 't.template_id = p.template_id'); $this->db->select('GROUP_CONCAT(u.Asset SEPARATOR ",") as assetslist', FALSE); $this->db->from('assigned_assets_pproject b'); $this->db->join('assets u', 'u.asset_id = b.asset_id'); $query = $this->db->get(); $rows = $query->result_array(); //Return result to jTable $jTableResult = array(); $jTableResult['Result'] = "OK"; $jTableResult['Records'] = $rows; return $jTableResult; } My controller page : function listRecord(){ $this->load->model('project_model'); $result = $this->project_model->list_all(); print json_encode($result); } And to finish my view page : <table id="listtable"></table> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $('#listtable').jtable({ title: 'Table test', actions: { listAction: '<?php echo base_url().'project/listRecord';?>', createAction: '/GettingStarted/CreatePerson', updateAction: '/GettingStarted/UpdatePerson', deleteAction: '/GettingStarted/DeletePerson' }, fields: { project_id: { key: true, list: false }, Project: { title: 'Project Name' }, Description: { title: 'Description' }, Status: { title: 'Status', width: '20px' }, Thumbnail: { title: 'Thumbnail', display: function (data) { return '<a href="<?php echo base_url('project');?>/' + data.record.project_id + '"><img class="thumbnail" width="50px" height="50px" src="' + data.record.Thumbnail + '" alt="' + data.record.Thumbnail + '" ></a>'; } }, Template: { title: 'Template' }, Asset: { title: 'Assets' }, RecordDate: { title: 'Record date', type: 'date', create: false, edit: false } } }); //Load person list from server $('#listtable').jtable('load'); }); </script> I read lot of posts talking about that, like replace ',' separator by ",", or use OUTER to the join, or group_by('p.project_id') before using get method, don't work. Here is a the output of the query in json : {"Result":"OK","Records":[{"project_id":"1","Project":"Adam & Eve : A Famous Story","Description":"The story about Adam & Eve reviewed in 3D Animation movie !","Status":"wip","Thumbnail":"http:\/\/localhost\/assets\/images\/thumb\/projectAdamAndEve.png","Template":"Animation Movie","assetslist":"Apple, Adam, Eve, Garden of Eden"}]} We can see the GROUP_CONCAT is here (after "assetslist"), but the column stills empty. If asked, I can post the database SQL file. Thank you.

  • how can load images from plist in to UITableView ?

    - by srikanth rongali
I have stored the videos and the thumbnail images of the videos in Documents folder. And I have given the path in plist. In plist I took an array and I added directories to the array. And in the dictionary I stored the image path /Users/srikanth/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/User/Applications/9E6E8B22-C946-4442-9209-75BB0E924434/Documents/image1 for key imagePath. for video /Users/srikanth/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/User/Applications/9E6E8B22-C946-4442-9209-75BB0E924434/Documents/video1.mp4 for key filePath. I used following code but it is not working. I am trying only for images. I need the images to be loaded in the table in each cell. - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; [cell setAccessoryType:UITableViewCellAccessoryDetailDisclosureButton]; UIImageView *image2 = [[UIImageView alloc]init]; image2.frame = CGRectMake(0.0f, 0.0f, 80.0f, 80.0f); image2.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; //image2.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"snook.png"]; image2.tag = tag7; } NSDictionary *dictOfplist = [cells objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; [(UIImageView *)[cell viewWithTag:tag7] setImage:[dictOfplist objectForKey:@"imagePath"]]; return cell; } - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; self.title = @"Library"; self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"Close" style:UIBarButtonItemStyleBordered target:self action:@selector(close:)]; NSString* plistPath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"details" ofType:@"plist"]; contentArray = [NSArray arrayWithContentsOfFile:plistPath]; cells = [[NSMutableArray alloc]initWithCapacity:[contentArray count]]; for(dCount = 0; dCount < [contentArray count]; dCount++) [cells addObject:[contentArray objectAtIndex:dCount]]; } How can I make this work. Thank you.

  • UITableViewCell imageView images loading small even when they are the correct size!

    - by Alex Barlow
Im having an issue whilst loading images into a UITableViewCell after an asynchronous download and placement into an UIImage variable.. The images appear smaller than they actually are! But when scrolled down and scrolled back up to the image, or the whole table is reloaded, they appear at the correct size... Here is a code excerpt... - (void)reviewImageDidLoad:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { ThumbDownloader *thumbDownloader = [imageDownloadsInProgress objectForKey:indexPath]; if (thumbDownloader != nil) { UITableViewCell *cell = [self.tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:thumbDownloader.indexPathInTableView]; [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.4]; [self.tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath].imageView.alpha = 0.0; [UIView commitAnimations]; cell.imageView.image = thumbDownloader.review.thumb; [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.4]; [self.tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath].imageView.alpha = 1.0; [UIView commitAnimations]; } } Here is an image of the app just after calling this method.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/arbarlow/5288563627/ After calling tableView reloadData or scrolling around the appear correctly, go the the next flickr image, to see the normal result, but im sure you can guess that.. Does anyone have an ideas as to make the images appear correctly? im absolutely stumped?! Regards, Alex iPhone noob

  • How can we set time delay in animation of images to make them appear smooth ?

    - by srikanth rongali
Hi, I have 10 CCSprite images. They are continues images. I am using, CCSprite *playerH = [CCSprite spriteWithFile:@"Player_01.png" ]; playerH.position = ccp(playerH.contentSize.width/2, windowSize.height/2); [self addChild:playerH z:1]; CCAnimation* animation = [CCAnimation animationWithName:@"dance" delay:0.20f]; for( int i = 1; i < 11; i++ ) { [animation addFrameWithFilename: [NSString stringWithFormat:@"Player_%02d.png", i]]; } NSLog(@"k VALUE: k: %d",k); id actionA = [CCAnimate actionWithAnimation: animation restoreOriginalFrame:NO]; id actionD = [CCDelayTime actionWithDuration:5.0f]; id actionC = [CCCallFunc actionWithTarget:self selector:@selector(enemyEntranceScreen:)]; id seqActionPlayer = [CCSequence actions:actionA, actionD, actionC, nil]; [playerH runAction: seqActionPlayer]; But the animation is not continues. I have changed the animation delay time. but, I can see only three images appearing. How can we know how much time interval should we keep in animation. Is there any relationship between this and the frame rate [[CCDirector sharedDirector] setAnimationInterval:1.0/60]; [[CCDirector sharedDirector] setDisplayFPS:YES]; Thank you.

  • How can I embed images within my application and use them in HTML control?

    - by Atara
Is there any way I can embed the images within my exe (as resource?) and use it in generated HTML ? Here are the requirements: A. I want to show dynamic HTML content (e.g. using webBrowser control, VS 2008, VB .Net, winForm desktop application) B. I want to generate the HTML on-the-fly using XML and XSL (file1.xml or file2.xml transformed by my.xsl) C. The HTML may contain IMG tags (file1.gif and or file2.gif according to the xml+xsl transformation) and here comes the complicated one: D. All these files (file1.xml, file2.xml, my.xsl, file1.gif, file2.gif) should be embedded in one exe file. I guess the XML and XSL can be embedded resources, and I can read them as stream, but what ways do I have to reference the image within the HTML ? <IMG src="???" /> I do not want to use absolute path and external files. If the image files are resources, can I use relative path? Relative to what? (I can use BASE tag, and then what?) Can I use stream as in email messages? If so, where can I find the format I need to use? http://www.websiteoptimization.com/speed/tweak/inline-images/ are browser dependent. What is the browser used by webBrowser control? IE? what version? Does it matter if I use GIF or JPG or BMP (or any other image format) for the images? Does it matter if I use mshtml library and not the regular webBrowser control? (currently I use http://www.itwriting.com/htmleditor/index.php ) Does it matter if I upgrade to VS 2010 ? Thanks, Atara

  • best practices question: How to save a collection of images and a java object in a single file? File

    - by Richard
Hi all, I am making a java program that has a collection of flash-card like objects. I store the objects in a jtree composed of defaultmutabletreenodes. Each node has a user object attached to it with has a few string/native data type parameters. However, i also want each of these objects to have an image (typical formats, jpg, png etc). I would like to be able to store all of this information, including the images and the tree data to the disk in a single file so the file can be transferred between users and the entire tree, including the images and parameters for each object, can be reconstructed. I had not approached a problem like this before so I was not sure what the best practices were. I found XLMEncoder (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/beans/XMLEncoder.html) to be a very effective way of storing my tree and the native data type information. However I couldn't figure out how to save the image data itself inside of the XML file, and I'm not sure it is possible since the data is binary (so restricted characters would be invalid). My next thought was to associate a hash string instead of an image within each user object, and then gzip together all of the images, with the hash strings as the names and the XMLencoded tree in the same compmressed file. That seemed really contrived though. Does anyone know a good approach for this type of issue? THanks! Thanks!

  • Content Box is a Little Off in IE9 ... How to Fix?

    - by Kelsey Nealon
Hi there! I have a website at www.thetotempole.ca and when viewed in IE9... My websites content box (The green wooden backgrounded box with content inside) is moved slightly over to the left making a space between the actual container and the content box... Is there anyway I can fix this without harming any of the other browsers? Thanks! • Profile Picture Thumbnails, Following Projects, and Fork Collaboration

[Do you tweet? Follow us on Twitter @matthawley and @adacole_msft] We deployed a new version of the CodePlex website last week. Profile Picture Thumbnails We have added a way to select a thumbnail from your profile picture, which will start appearing next to usernames across the site.  Managing your thumbnail is simple. From your profile page, choose Edit your profile.  On the left side, you’ll find an intuitive widget for choosing a profile picture, uploading it, and editing your thumbnail image. If you previously uploaded a profile picture, we’ve used that to generate a starter thumbnail. We welcome your suggestions and ideas for areas where seeing user thumbnails would be useful or interesting. Following Projects Based on some feedback we’ve received recently, we have taken several steps to help you discover and follow interesting and popular projects on CodePlex: The homepage now surfaces the top Projects Users are Following from the previous 7 days. When you visit any project homepage, you can see at a glance how many people follow the project. When you visit the People tab for any project, you will see both the project contributors and the 25 most recent project followers. Fork Collaboration We now support enabling collaborators on a fork based on a large number of user requests.  From the Source Code management page for your fork, you will now see the following on the right side: To add a collaborator, type in a username and click Add. All fork collaborators will have the ability to push to the fork and send/cancel pull requests.  To remove a collaborator, hover over user, and click on the X that appears: The CodePlex team values your feedback, and is frequently monitoring Twitter, our Discussions and Issue Tracker for new features or problems. If you’ve not visited the Issue Tracker recently, please take a few moments to log an idea or vote for the features you would most like to see implemented on CodePlex.

  • How does one get Vista to display .MOV thumbnails as a frame from the movie?

    - by Paul Hollingsworth
I've discovered that Windows Vista explorer shell does not display proper "thumbnail"s for .MOV files. e.g. For .JPG files, the explorer shell, when in Thumbnail mode, displays a scaled down version of the image. But for .MOV files, it displays the same icon as in the non-thumbnail view, which is just some generic thing that shows you it's going to be played with Quicktime or whatever. What XP used to do was show you a frame from the actual movie as the thumbnail. I've looked on internet and found various proposed solutions, but none which actually work. Is there a simple step-by-step process for getting Vista to properly display thumbnails for .MOV files?

  • Does XNA 4 support 3D affine transformations for 2D images?

    - by Paul Baker Salt Shaker
Looooong story short I'm essentially trying to code Mode 7 in XNA. Before I continue bashing my brains out in research and various failed matrix math equations; I just want to make sure that XNA supports this just out-of-the-box (so to speak). I'd prefer not to have to import other libraries, because I want to learn how it works myself that way I understand the whole thing better. However that's all for naught if it won't work at all. So no opengl, directx, etc if possible (will eventually do it just to optimize everything, but not for now). tl;dr: Can I has Mode 7 in XNA?

  • Customize the Background in Boxee

    - by DigitalGeekery
Are you a Boxee user who thinks the default background is little boring? Today we’ll take a look at how to freshen up the look of Boxee by changing the background. Boxee Background When you log into Boxee, select the Settings button at the upper left corner of the Home page.   Select General on the Settings screen. When you select or hover your mouse over the Background Image button, you’ll see options to set a background image or set a background image folder. You’ll have the option of settings a single static image as your background, or choosing an images folder.   If you choose a folder, Boxee will rotate through the images in the folder. To set Background images folder, select that option. Browse for your image folder.. And then select OK.   Boxee will rotate through the images in the folder.   Images will change every ten seconds.   If you prefer a single static image, select Set background image   Choose a image and select OK. Now just enjoy you nice new backgrounds.   If you ever wish to revert back to the default Boxee background, simply select Reset Images on the Settings \ General screen. Adding your own backgrounds is a nice way to customize your Boxee experience. Ideally, you’ll want to choose high resolution images and images oriented as landscape rather than portrait. If you are unfamiliar with Boxee, check out our article on getting started with Boxee.  Looking for a Boxee remote? Read how to use your iPhone or iPod Touch as a Boxee remote. • Convert .png images into a .ppt presentation on Linux?

    - by darenw
I've created a presentation as a series of .png images, one per slide. What is a good way to convert these into a .ppt (PowerPoint) that I can give to some audio-visual person? I'm entirely on Linux, with no Windows or Mac software available. (Or maybe PowerPoint isn't the only game in town for presentation file formats?)

My code works in the following manner: 1.First, it obtains several images from the training set 2.After loading these images, we find the normalized faces, mean face and perform several calculation. 3.Next, we ask for the name of an image we want to recognize 4.We then project the input image into the eigenspace, and based on the difference from the eigenfaces we make a decision. 5.Depending on eigen weight vector for each input image we make clusters using kmeans command. Source code i tried: clear all close all clc % number of images on your training set. M=1200; %Chosen std and mean. %It can be any number that it is close to the std and mean of most of the images. um=60; ustd=32; %read and show images(bmp); S=[]; %img matrix for i=1:M str=strcat(int2str(i),'.jpg'); %concatenates two strings that form the name of the image eval('img=imread(str);'); [irow icol d]=size(img); % get the number of rows (N1) and columns (N2) temp=reshape(permute(img,[2,1,3]),[irow*icol,d]); %creates a (N1*N2)x1 matrix S=[S temp]; %X is a N1*N2xM matrix after finishing the sequence %this is our S end %Here we change the mean and std of all images. We normalize all images. %This is done to reduce the error due to lighting conditions. for i=1:size(S,2) temp=double(S(:,i)); m=mean(temp); st=std(temp); S(:,i)=(temp-m)*ustd/st+um; end %show normalized images for i=1:M str=strcat(int2str(i),'.jpg'); img=reshape(S(:,i),icol, irow); img=img'; end %mean image; m=mean(S,2); %obtains the mean of each row instead of each column tmimg=uint8(m); %converts to unsigned 8-bit integer. Values range from 0 to 255 img=reshape(tmimg, icol, irow); %takes the N1*N2x1 vector and creates a N2xN1 matrix img=img'; %creates a N1xN2 matrix by transposing the image. % Change image for manipulation dbx=[]; % A matrix for i=1:M temp=double(S(:,i)); dbx=[dbx temp]; end %Covariance matrix C=A'A, L=AA' A=dbx'; L=A*A'; % vv are the eigenvector for L % dd are the eigenvalue for both L=dbx'*dbx and C=dbx*dbx'; [vv dd]=eig(L); % Sort and eliminate those whose eigenvalue is zero v=[]; d=[]; for i=1:size(vv,2) if(dd(i,i)>1e-4) v=[v vv(:,i)]; d=[d dd(i,i)]; end end %sort, will return an ascending sequence [B index]=sort(d); ind=zeros(size(index)); dtemp=zeros(size(index)); vtemp=zeros(size(v)); len=length(index); for i=1:len dtemp(i)=B(len+1-i); ind(i)=len+1-index(i); vtemp(:,ind(i))=v(:,i); end d=dtemp; v=vtemp; %Normalization of eigenvectors for i=1:size(v,2) %access each column kk=v(:,i); temp=sqrt(sum(kk.^2)); v(:,i)=v(:,i)./temp; end %Eigenvectors of C matrix u=[]; for i=1:size(v,2) temp=sqrt(d(i)); u=[u (dbx*v(:,i))./temp]; end %Normalization of eigenvectors for i=1:size(u,2) kk=u(:,i); temp=sqrt(sum(kk.^2)); u(:,i)=u(:,i)./temp; end % show eigenfaces; for i=1:size(u,2) img=reshape(u(:,i),icol, irow); img=img'; img=histeq(img,255); end % Find the weight of each face in the training set. omega = []; for h=1:size(dbx,2) WW=[]; for i=1:size(u,2) t = u(:,i)'; WeightOfImage = dot(t,dbx(:,h)'); WW = [WW; WeightOfImage]; end omega = [omega WW]; end % Acquire new image % Note: the input image must have a bmp or jpg extension. % It should have the same size as the ones in your training set. % It should be placed on your desktop ed_min=[]; srcFiles = dir('G:\newdatabase\*.jpg'); % the folder in which ur images exists for b = 1 : length(srcFiles) filename = strcat('G:\newdatabase\',srcFiles(b).name); Imgdata = imread(filename); InputImage=Imgdata; InImage=reshape(permute((double(InputImage)),[2,1,3]),[irow*icol,1]); temp=InImage; me=mean(temp); st=std(temp); temp=(temp-me)*ustd/st+um; NormImage = temp; Difference = temp-m; p = []; aa=size(u,2); for i = 1:aa pare = dot(NormImage,u(:,i)); p = [p; pare]; end InImWeight = []; for i=1:size(u,2) t = u(:,i)'; WeightOfInputImage = dot(t,Difference'); InImWeight = [InImWeight; WeightOfInputImage]; end noe=numel(InImWeight); % Find Euclidean distance e=[]; for i=1:size(omega,2) q = omega(:,i); DiffWeight = InImWeight-q; mag = norm(DiffWeight); e = [e mag]; end ed_min=[ed_min MinimumValue]; theta=6.0e+03; %disp(e) z(b,:)=InImWeight; end IDX = kmeans(z,5); clustercount=accumarray(IDX, ones(size(IDX))); disp(clustercount); Running time for 50 images:Elapsed time is 103.947573 seconds. QUESTIONS: 1.It is working fine for M=50(i.e Training set contains 50 images) but not for M=1200(i.e Training set contains 1200 images). It is not showing any error. There is no output.I waited for 10 min still there is no output. I think it is going infinite loop. What is the problem?Where i was wrong?

  • How do I boot Ubuntu Cloud images in vmware?

    - by Graham
I want to run an Ubuntu cloud image on on VMWare. I've gotten pretty far but want to know how to set the OVF properties in a way that VMWare understands in order to pass parameters to cloud-init. This is what I've done: Install VMWare Player 4.0.4, using the vmware workstation 8.0.2 / player 4.0.2 fix for linux 3.2+ patch to get around the compilation failure for virtual ethernet module. Download precise-server-cloudimg-amd64.ovf, and also the QCOW2 .img file (220MB) Run qemu-img convert -O vmdk precise-server-cloudimg-amd64-disk1.img precise-server-cloudimg-amd64-disk1.vmdk to convert the image from QCOW2 to VMDK Edit the OVF to change the extension and ovf:size on the <File> element and set ovf:format="http://www.vmware.com/interfaces/specifications/vmdk.html#sparse" on the <Disk> element. Edit the OVF to remove all the <Property> elements because vmplayer was complaining about unrecognised elements. Run the OVF in vmplayer. Alternatively, run ovftool to convert to vmx and run the vmx. Unfortunately I can't log in as "ubuntu" at the prompt because the OVF properties haven't been provided to cloud-init. How should I do this?

  • Using which technique does facebook and pininterest show images?

    - by manish
If anybody has ever noticed that when you open a image in Facebook something like this happens:- suppose you are at your homepage on Facebook:- the URL is https://www.facebook.com/ now if you open a image it gets opened in new modal like window and URL changes to:- https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151125374887397&set=a.338008237396.161268.36922302396&type=1&theater As far as I know in any common case a modal overlay would have kept the url in the address bar the same , My question is how does facebook / pintrest achieve this behaviour of not re-loading the whole page but still achieving the change in the address bar. Is there any jquery or javascript plugin for this?
