  • Prevent form to repost on refresh

    Given is a form that is followed by a confirmation page where you have to confirm you entered data of previous form. Now if the user refreshes this recapitulation page, the data form the previous form reposts. Is there a way to prevent that in JavaScript? I know its not a ideal solution, it should happen on the server side. But i have no choice in this case.

    I am attempting to simulate my site's production environment as closely as I can on my local machine. This is a rails site that uses Apache w/ mod_proxy to forward requests to a mongrel cluster. On my Mac OSX Leopard machine, I have the default install of apache running and have configured a vhost to use mod_proxy to to forward requests to a local running mongrel instance on port 3000. <Proxy balancer://mongrel_cluster-development> BalancerMember http://127.0.0.1:3000 </Proxy> For the most part, this is working fine. I can browse my development site using the ServerName of the vhost I configured and can confirm that requests are being properly forwarded to the mongrel instance. However, there is a page on the site that has a multipart form that is used to upload an image to the server. When I post this form, there is a delay of about 5 minutes and the browser ultimately returns a Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. In the error log for my vhost: [Tue Sep 22 09:47:57 2009] [error] (70007)The timeout specified has expired: proxy: prefetch request body failed to 127.0.0.1:3000 (127.0.0.1) from ::1 () This same form works fine if I browse directly to the mongrel instance (http://127.0.0.1:3000). Anybody have any idea what the problem might be and how to fix it? If there is any important information that I neglected to include, post a comment, and I can add to this question. Note: Upon further investigation, this appears to be a problem specific to Safari. The form works fine in Firefox.

    I've been trying to get the Zend Jquery autocomplete function working, when i noticed this section in the Zend documentation. The following UI widgets are available as form view helpers. Make sure you use the correct version of jQuery UI library to be able to use them. The Google CDN only offers jQuery UI up to version 1.5.2. Some other components are only available from jQuery UI SVN, since they have been removed from the announced 1.6 release. autoComplete($id, $value, $params, $attribs): The AutoComplete View helper will be included in a future jQuery UI version (currently only via jQuery SVN) and creates a text field and registeres it to have auto complete functionality. The completion data source has to be given as jQuery related parameters 'url' or 'data' as described in the jQuery UI manual. Does anybody know which svn url tag or branch i need to download to get a javascript file with the autocomplete functions available in it?     Hello, I'm writing some additions to a Castle MonoRail based site involving an Add and an Edit form. The add form works fine and uses POST but the edit form uses GET. The only major difference I can see is that the edit method is called with the Id of the object being edited in the query string. When the submit button is pressed on the edit form, the only argument passed is this object Id again. At the end of the day I'm not that familiar with MonoRail and this may be a stupid mistake on my behalf, but I would very much appreciate being made a fool out of if it fixes the problem! :) Thanks

  • jQuery hold form submit until "continue" button pressed

    I am trying to submit a form, which I have had working, but have now modified it to include a modal jQuery UI box, so that it won't submit until the user presses "continue". I've had various problems with this, including getting the form to hold until that button is pressed, but I think I have found a solution to that, but implementing it, I am getting a SyntaxError which I can't find the source of. With the help of kevin B managed to find the answer was the form was submitting, but the returned JSON response wasn't quite formatted right. The response was that the form wasn't being submitted, so that problem is still occurring. So updated the code with the provided feedback, now need to find out why the form isnt submitting. I know its something to do with the 2nd function isnt recognising the submit button has been pressed, so need to know how to submit that form data without the form needing to be submitted again.   • Apache redirection problem!!!!

    Hi guys, I am setting up a pre-built website built in php. The site was actually hosted on the linux server. Now I am trying to set it up on a Window machine with WAMP server. In this website almost every page request passes through a particular file called redirect(which is basically a php file without extension). Now the problem is that when I inspected the configuration(httpd.conf, apache.conf,.htaccess, vhost.conf etc) of the apache server on the linux machine, I nowhere found the redirect rules for doing so. Neither mod_rewrite nor mod_alias rules for this redirection were found there. But is still redirects the request properly. I also noticed that Zend Framework library is there in the exact same directory where the redirect file is. This library is included in the include_path in php.ini. However, the web site is still not developed using Zend MVC and I have seen NO proof of ZEND being used there. So I am really confused how this redirection is working there? I am unable to set up this on window machine without rewrite rules of mod_rewrite or mod_alias. Do you guys know any alternative of both the said modules for redirection? I know the site is really weird, but i have to set it up. :) Thanks in advance for your help.

  • How do I make a form transparent while keeping the controls fully visible?

    I would like to have a form in which the controls on the form are fully visible but the form itself is invisible. If I change the form's Opacity, this makes both the form and the controls on it semi-transparent, so this doesn't work. I can't do this by setting the form's TransparencyKey, since I have a PictureBox on the form. If the image in the PictureBox happens to contain pixels that match the TransparencyKey, they appear as openings in the form, which I don't want.

    I have a public computer lab where users must give a few short details about themselves such as their age and objective before they use the computers. Currently this information is gathered by a lab attendant on paper. I would like for the user to be given a form in Windows at the beginning of his or her session on a computer in the lab. It should be impossible to use the computer without filling out and submitting this form. I am confident in my abilities as a web application developer and I would prefer to collect the data in some sort of browser-based form. How do I present it to the user and lock them out of Windows until it has been submitted?
