  • How to send a text message to mobile phone via bluetooth in Java?

    Similar to this question. I have been tasked to develop an application using Java to send message strings from my WinXP PC to a nearby mobile phone, using only Bluetooth. I have found a free Java Bluetooth library (Bluecove) to work with, but it seems that it might not support OBEX under Windows, which as I read is necessary to perform this task. Has anyone proven this using Java? What stack and Bluetooth library did you use? Thanks. :)

The layout is pretty simple: 100% header 25% sidebar 75% page 100% footer see also http://jsfiddle.net/KB5Nq/ the problem is that i would like to change the stack order when the site is in mobile view: 100% header 100% page 100% sidebar 100% footer however, by default it arranges the blocks in the same order as they appear in the source code: header, sidebar, page, footer. is there an easy css-only fix for that?

  • Filtering at server or at client?

    I am thinking about how to build advertise site which works like twitter. That means, most user don't not visit the site by browser, they should run a dedicated client application on their PC or smart phone. Then they set some filters about what kind of advertise they like. And when new post that fulfill their needs appear, the client will make a notification. To make that client as real time as possible, it has to poll the server within a short time interval. The problem is, should I do the filtering at the server side when client polls, or should I simply transfer all new posts to client and let client do the filtering? Making server side filtering might cause too much CPU cycles of server, but transferring every post blindly to client might waste a lot of bandwidth. Just a brain game. :)

    How can I maintain local LAN access while connected to Cisco VPN? When connecting using Cisco VPN, the server has to ability to instruct the client to prevent local LAN access. Assuming this server-side option cannot be turned off, how can allow local LAN access while connected with a Cisco VPN client? I used to think it was simply a matter of routes being added that capture LAN traffic with a higher metric, for example: Network Destination Netmask Gateway Interface Metric 10.0.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.0.0.3 10.0.0.3 20 <--Local LAN 10.0.0.0 255.255.0.0 192.168.199.1 192.168.199.12 1 <--VPN Link And trying to delete the 10.0.x.x -> 192.168.199.12 route don't have any effect: >route delete 10.0.0.0 >route delete 10.0.0.0 mask 255.255.0.0 >route delete 10.0.0.0 mask 255.255.0.0 192.168.199.1 >route delete 10.0.0.0 mask 255.255.0.0 192.168.199.1 if 192.168.199.12 >route delete 10.0.0.0 mask 255.255.0.0 192.168.199.1 if 0x3 And while it still might simply be a routing issue, attempts to add or delete routes fail.     I am trying to get wifi direct working on a laptop with ubuntu 12.04 When I type the command 'iw list' it doesn't show P2P-client or P2P-go under 'supported interface modes.From http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Documentation/iw/replace-iwconfig I found that 'iwconfig' was replaced with 'iw'.Does it mean that my hardware doesn't have support for wifi-direct or is it just the software(drivers) issue? If is it just sofware issue please help me to find the right drivers which support wifi-direct.     I am moving from an Apache host to IIS. One of my sites in Wordpress (running Multi-site) which give me multiple blogs. I have moved all my rules from my .htaccess to the Microsoft URL ReWrite module. I have one section left that will not import. I want to restrict access to all instances of the file wp-login.php by Client IP address. In my .htaccess file I did the following: <Files wp-login.php> Order Deny,Allow Deny from all Allow from 192.168 </Files> Any smart ideas on how to accompish this in IIS7.5?
