  • Approach For Syncing One SharePoint List With One or More SharePoint Lists

    What would be the best approach or strategy for configuring, customizing or developing in SharePoint a solution that allows me to keep one or more SharePoint lists in sync with a SharePoint list I have designated as a master or parent list. I would like to be able to create a master/parent list of some information that can be extended or used by different parts of the organization without them being able to CRUD any items on the actual columns of the master list. (I have seen some commercial web parts that offer column security on SharePoint lists and although that’s one way of potentially meeting my needs I would like to explore other options.) Scenario: I have a list called FOO: FOO Title Description I would like to create a new list BAR based off of FOO (BAR is managed by sub-organization that doesn't have access to FOO List): BAR FOO.Title (Read-Only) FOO.Description (Read-Only) NewColumn1 NewColumn2 Actions: Create- If a new item is entered in FOO I would like the new item added to BAR. Read - N/A Update - If the title or description is changed in FOO I would like it changed in BAR. Delete- No Deletes in the scenario. (Deletes are handled by the business with status column.) Templates with content extraction offer me this but it’s a one time shot at list creation. Just not sure what the best approach or strategy would be for this in MOSS 2007. Thanks!

  • Flex bug?? Get messed up stacked ColumnChart with type="100%"

    I am trying to do a stacked Column chart with type="100%" and a mixture of positive and negative values. When all the values are positive, is functions well, but when negative numbers come to the game, it looks totally messed up. Isn't it a Flex Bug? I have my own case with such data and it behaves wrong the same way. I'd expect that if it has 800 stacked on -200, it will show 80% up and 20% down, totalling 100%.   • Drupal Multisite - Subdirectory, Shared Hosting

    I'm trying to set up Drupal multisite in a shared hosting environment. The main site's location looks like http://www.mysite.com/foo/bar/ and my goal is to create another site using the same database at http://www.mysite.com/foo/bar/drupal2. I've created a new folder in the sites directory called www.mysite.com.foo.bar.drupal2 and added the default.settings.php and settings.php files, configured correctly for the environment, and I've set up a symlink from the main site's root to the subdirectory, with this command: ln -s . drupal2 The problem is that when I go to http://www.mysite.com/foo/bar/drupal2, I just get the main site at http://www.mysite.com without triggering the installer. What do I need to change to get the multisite working?

    I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to show all datatips for a single lineseries in a Flex 3 linechart. This chart will have multiple lines and the functionality we're looking for is when a user hovers over a line, show all datatips associated with just that series. Any help would be appreciated. showAllDataTips will not work in this case as it will display all datatips on the chart. Thanks! Rich

Now, I want to have tools to save and load this collection to/from XML. Unfortunately, this code doesn't quite work: the collection is saved, but then it cannot be loaded! The intended output is 1 2 3 some xml 1 2 3 But unfortunately, the actual output is 1 2 3 some xml com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.dom.ElementNSImpl cannot be cast to testapplication1.IFoo Apparently, I need to use the annotations in a different way? Or to give up on JAXB and look for something else? I, well, can write "XMLNode toXML()" method for all classes I wan't to (de)marshal, but...

    The default output of File.toURL() is file:/c:/foo/bar These don't appear to work on windows, and need to be changed to file:///c:/foo/bar Does the format file:/c:/foo/bar work correctly on Unix (I don't have a Unix machine to test on)? Is there a library that can take care of generating a URL from a File that is in the correct format for the current environment?

However I'd want to be sure that for every Foo, I have at least two Bar. I can't access the bar_attributes in my validations so it seems I can't validate it. Is there any clean way to do so ?

    Say I have a class Foo, a class A and some subclass B of A. Foo accepts A and its sublclasses as the generic type. A and B both require a Foo instance in their constructor. I want A's Foo to be of type A , and B's Foo to be of type B or a superclass of B. So in effect, So I only want this: Foo<X> bar = new Foo<X>; new B(bar); to be possible if X is either A, B, or a both subclass of A and superclass of B. So far this is what I have: class Foo<? extends A>{ //construct } class A(Foo<A> bar){ //construct } class B(Foo<? super B> bar){ super(bar); //construct } The call to super(...) doesn't work, because <A> is stricter than <? super B>. Is it somehow possible to use the constructor (or avoid code duplication by another means) while enforcing these types? Edit: Foo keeps a collection of elements of the generic parameter type, and these elements and Foo have a bidirectional link. It should therefore not be possible to link an A to a Foo.

  • Need Google Map InfoWindow Hyperlink to Open Content in Overlay (Fusion Table Usage)

When the map is clicked, the info window pops up with a bunch of content including a hyperlink to open up a website with a form in it. I would like to utilize a function like fancybox to open up this link "form" in an overlay. I have read that fancybox doesn't support calling the function from within an iframe, and was wondering if there was a way to pass the link data to the DOM and trigger the fancybox (or another overlay option) in another way? I'm sure some of those things are specific to the architecture, and compiler optimization might make a huge difference, but I would like to see a chart to get a general idea what I should do and what I should avoid to write high-performance programs. How can I change the interface so that it can be called with the foo reference directly? Since this will be a public interface used by customers I don't like the idea of having to explain why all the objects created need to be passed back in an extra pair of parentheses...

    Suppose I have val foo : Seq[Double] = ... val bar : Seq[Double] = ... and I wish to produce a seq where the baz(i) = foo(i) + bar(i). One way I can think of to do this is val baz : Seq[Double] = (foo.toList zip bar.toList) map ((f: Double, b : Double) => f+b) However, this feels both ugly and inefficient -- I have to convert both seqs to lists (which explodes with lazy lists), create this temporary list of tuples, only to map over it and let it be GCed. Maybe streams solve the lazy problem, but in any case, this feels like unnecessarily ugly. In lisp, the map function would map over multiple sequences. I would write (mapcar (lambda (f b) (+ f b)) foo bar) And no temporary lists would get created anywhere. Is there a map-over-multiple-lists function in Scala, or is zip combined with destructuring really the 'right' way to do this?

    I have a Perl module and I'd like to be able to pick out the parameters that my my module's user passed in the "use" call. Whichever ones I don't recognize I'd like to pass on. I tried to do this by overriding the "import" method but I'm not having much luck. EDIT: To clarify, as it is, I can use my module like this: use MyModule qw/foo bar/; which will import the foo and bar methods of MyModule. But I want to be able to say: use MyModule qw/foo doSpecialStuff bar/; and look for doSpecialStuff to check if I need to do some special stuff at the beginning of the program, then pass qw/foo bar/ to the Exporter's import

    Hi, In Java, on a text like foo <on> bar </on> thing <on> again</on> now, I should want a regex with groups wich give me with a find "foo", "bar", empty string, then "thing", "again", "now". If I do (.*?)<on>(.*?)</on>(?!<on>), I get only two group (foo bar, thing again, and I've not the end "now"). if I do (.*?)<on>(.*?)</on>((?!<on>)) I get foo bar empty string, then thing again and empty string (here I should want "now").     Hi there, I am looking for an alternative to using an object/variable in global scope -- I would like to associate key/value pairs with specific DOM elements (eg, a DIV), so that I can use them as input for logic that processes other elements (eg, child elements of said DIV). I tried something naive like: $('[foo=bar]').key='value' , and $('[foo=bar]')[key]='value', but it puked. Doing something like: var foobar = $('[foo=bar]'); foobar.key = 'value' -- works, but the new property/value only affects the new object (ie, foobar, not $('[foo=bar]')) Most likely there's something terribly basic I am overlooking. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
