    What's a proper way of building a Winform app that has multiple 'screens'? For example, I'm trying to write a small backup program (mainly for giggles), and I've been dumping controls and containers onto the form. I'm using panels and group boxes to separate out the different screens (eg: I'm using a panel to hold all of the controls for the "Settings" window, and another panel to show all the current backups that have been set up). Well, my form.cs file ballooned into a massive amount of code, and I feel like I'm doing something wrong. I can hardly find anything in the file, and I'm ready to start over. This project was just for me to expand my knowledge of C# and .NET, so starting a new project is not a huge deal.

    I have a table with 3 fields: color, fruit, date. I can pick 1 fruit and 1 color, but I can do this only once each day. examples: red, apple, monday red, mango, monday blue, apple, monday blue, mango, monday red, apple, tuesday The two ways in which I could build the table are: 1.- To have color, fruit and date be a composite primary key (PK). This makes it easy to insert data into the table because all the validation needed is done by the database. PK color PK fruit PK date 2.- Have and id column set as PK and then all the other fields. Many say thats the way it should be, because composite PKs are evil. For example, CakePHP does no support them. PK id color fruit date Both have advantages. Which would be the 'better' approach?

  • Brightness fn key adjustment problems

    My brightness function key controls work after setting grub boot parameter to "acpi_osi=" but using them I cannot adjust the brightness higher than around 70% (there is empty bar left over and I can't adjust higher) unless I go to Brightness & Lock settings manually than I can use the slider to adjust it higher... I primarily use intel_backlight to adjust my backlight and I am running Linux kernel 3.14.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on an ASUS X550LA Laptop when I try: cd /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight cat max_brightness 937 cat brightness 811 It seems that I can only adjust to a maximum of 811 using the fn brightness controls If I instead do cd /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0 cat max_brightness 10 cat brightness 4 cat actual_brightness 10 With the FN keys actual_brightness is not equal to the value returned from brightness on acip_video0 (which is always 4) but on intel_backlight actual_brightness = brightness The adjustment problem seemingly arises because both intel_backlight and acpi_video0 are trying to adjust brightness

    I'm a total newbie to Ubuntu and recently decided to give it a go on my early 2009 Alu MacBook. For about a week now I've been trying to get the brightness controls to work. I've tried the following: Brightness controls doesn't work on a MacBook Pro 5.5 (ubuntu 12.04 LTS) https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBookPro5-5/Precise#LCD None of it seems to work. Next option was to try the Nvidia-bl-dkms drivers, but aftert installing the Mactel PPA I just get this: Reading package lists... DoneBuilding dependency tree Reading state information... Done E: Unable to locate package nvidia-bl-dkms Any help would be much appreciated as my eyes are going to fall out soon with the brightness maxed out.

    SharePoint, WCF and Azure Trainings: more information SharePoint 2013 (foundation too), detects requests from mobile devices and automatically changes the uRL of the requested non mobile page to its mobile substitute. This logic is now built into SPRequestModule. The mobile view is pretty damned amazing. Even though the set of pages for mobile access is completely different, SharePoint has an entirely separate set of controls for the mobile pages. These are in the Microsoft.SharePoint.MobileControls namespace which inherit from Microsoft ASP.NET controls in the System.Web.UI.MobileControls namespace.   • How to make multi-function linux device work in windows

    I was able to compile my Linux device to a composite gadget.(Serial + Mass Storage) When I plug this device on a Linux PC, The OS was able to detect and use both function. But when I plug it on Windows, it is just detected as a "Multifunction Composite Gadget" and I can't use it as neither a Mass Storage or a Serial Device. How do I go about making this work in Windows. Is making a customized driver really essential for this task? If so, how is this accomplished the least "painful" way?

    I am not able to access any method with the attribute [webinvoke] in a RESTful WCF service. My code is like this: [OperationContract] [WebInvoke(Method = "Post", UriTemplate = "Comosite/{composite}", ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Xml)] CompositeType GetDataUsingDataContract(string composite); On executing the above service I am getting an error message Method not allowed. I tried many ways, by modifying the urltemplate, method name and method type etc. but nothing is working out. But if I use the [WebGet] attribute the the service method is working fine. Can anybody suggest me what can I do make it work? Thanks in advance... :)

  • Framework for interaction between web-page and server-side script

    I want to make a web-page that will have several controls elements, among which there are elements like check-boxes, radio-buttons, "range selectors" (one can specify the min and max value, like it is done when you select range for prices in the online markets). The new values shall be sent to the "server-side", once changed (without any Submit buttons etc), and the "server-side" can return something (one or more numbers, etc). Does anyone know a good ajax-like framework that allows (with minimal adaptation / changes) to make such solution in an easy way? It will be good if the server-side of existing solution will be in Perl (not a big deal, but I know it much better than PHP or something else). Set of controls might change and depend on other parameter, so adding one extra element should not cause rewriting the whole thing. P.S.: I haven't working in this area for quite a while, so not aware of existing solutions in this area, and don't want to invent the wheel and write everything from scratch for something that already exist (at least, I hope so). Main Handle is just a window in C++ or usercontrol in C#. The Question is here for scrolling option , how can I perform scrolling when user is typing. I mean vertical scrolling here . What is Philosophy of works of scroll bars in C++ windows or C# user controls ?
