  • Static variable for communication among like-typed objects

    - by Dan Ray
    I have a method that asynchronously downloads images. If the images are related to an array of objects (a common use-case in the app I'm building), I want to cache them. The idea is, I pass in an index number (based on the indexPath.row of the table I'm making by way through), and I stash the image in a static NSMutableArray, keyed on the row of the table I'm dealing with. Thusly: @implementation ImageDownloader ... @synthesize cacheIndex; static NSMutableArray *imageCache; -(void)startDownloadWithImageView:(UIImageView *)imageView andImageURL:(NSURL *)url withCacheIndex:(NSInteger)index { self.theImageView = imageView; self.cacheIndex = index; NSLog(@"Called to download %@ for imageview %@", url, self.theImageView); if ([imageCache objectAtIndex:index]) { NSLog(@"We have this image cached--using that instead"); self.theImageView.image = [imageCache objectAtIndex:index]; return; } self.activeDownload = [NSMutableData data]; NSURLConnection *conn = [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url] delegate:self]; self.imageConnection = conn; [conn release]; } //build up the incoming data in self.activeDownload with calls to didReceiveData... - (void)connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *)connection { NSLog(@"Finished downloading."); UIImage *image = [[UIImage alloc] initWithData:self.activeDownload]; self.theImageView.image = image; NSLog(@"Caching %@ for %d", self.theImageView.image, self.cacheIndex); [imageCache insertObject:image atIndex:self.cacheIndex]; NSLog(@"Cache now has %d items", [imageCache count]); [image release]; } My index is getting through okay, I can see that by my NSLog output. But even after my insertObject: atIndex: call, [imageCache count] never leaves zero. This is my first foray into static variables, so I presume I'm doing something wrong. (The above code is heavily pruned to show only the main thing of what's going on, so bear that in mind as you look at it.)

  • How to setup Lucene search for a B2B web app?

    - by Bill Paetzke
    Given: 5000 databases (spread out over 5 servers) 1 database per client (so you can infer there are 1000 clients) 2 to 2000 users per client (let's say avg is 100 users per client) Clients (databases) come and go every day (let's assume most remain for at least one year) Let's stay agnostic of language or sql brand, since Lucene (and Solr) have a breadth of support The Question: How would you setup Lucene search so that each client can only search within its database? How would you setup the index(es)? Would you need to add a filter to all search queries? If a client cancelled, how would you delete their (part of the) index? (this may be trivial--not sure yet) Possible Solutions: Make an index for each client (database) Pro: Search is faster (than one-index-for-all method). Indices are relative to the size of the client's data. Con: I'm not sure what this entails, nor do I know if this is beyond Lucene's scope. Have a single, gigantic index with a database_name field. Always include database_name as a filter. Pro: Not sure. Maybe good for tech support or billing dept to search all databases for info. Con: Search is slower (than index-per-client method). Flawed security if query filter removed. For Example: Joel Spolsky said in Podcast #11 that his hosted web app product, FogBugz On-Demand, uses Lucene. He has thousands of on-demand clients. And each client gets their own database. His situation is quite similar to mine. Although, he didn't elaborate on the setup (particularly indices); hence, the need for this question. One last thing: I would also accept an answer that uses Solr (the extension of Lucene). Perhaps it's better suited for this problem. Not sure.

  • Why is setting HTML5's CanvasPixelArray values is ridiculously slow and how can I do it faster?

    - by Nixuz
    I am trying to do some dynamic visual effects using the HTML 5 canvas' pixel manipulation, but I am running into a problem where setting pixels in the CanvasPixelArray is ridiculously slow. For example if I have code like: imageData = ctx.getImageData(0, 0, 500, 500); for (var i = 0; i < imageData.length; i += 4){ imageData.data[index] = buffer[i]; imageData.data[index + 1] = buffer[i]; imageData.data[index + 2] = buffer[i]; } ctx.putImageData(imageData, 0, 0); Profiling with Chrome reveals, it runs 44% slower than the following code where CanvasPixelArray is not used. tempArray = new Array(500 * 500 * 4); imageData = ctx.getImageData(0, 0, 500, 500); for (var i = 0; i < imageData.length; i += 4){ tempArray[index] = buffer[i]; tempArray[index + 1] = buffer[i]; tempArray[index + 2] = buffer[i]; } ctx.putImageData(imageData, 0, 0); My guess is that the reason for this slowdown is due to the conversion between the Javascript doubles and the internal unsigned 8bit integers, used by the CanvasPixelArray. Is this guess correct? Is there anyway to reduce the time spent setting values in the CanvasPixelArray?

  • Should frontend and backend handled by different controllers?

    - by DR
    In my previous learning projects I always used a single controller, but know I wonder if that is good practice or even always possible. In all RESTful Rails tutorials the controllers have a show, an edit and an index view. If an authorized user is logged on, the edit view becomes available and the index view shows additional data manipulation controls, like a delete button or a link to the edit view. Now I have a Rails application which falls exactly into this pattern, but the index view is not reusable: The normal user sees a flashy index page with lots of pictures, complex layout, no Javascript requirement, ... The Admin user index has a completly different minimalistic design, jQuery table and lots of additional data, ... Now I'm not sure how to handle this case. I can think of the following: Single controller, single view: The view is split into two large blocks/partials using an if statement. Single controller, two views: index and index_admin. Two different controllers: BookController and BookAdminController None of this solutions seems perfect, but for now I'm inclined to use the 3rd option. What's the preferred way to do this?

  • Chord Chart - Skip to key with a click

    - by Juan Gonzales
    I have a chord chart app that basically can transpose a chord chart up and down throughout the keys, but now I would like to expand that app and allow someone to pick a key and automatically go to that key upon a click event using a function in javascript or jquery. Can someone help me figure this out? The logic seems simple enough, but I'm just not sure how to implement it. Here are my current functions that allow the user to transpose up and down... var match; var chords = ['C','C#','D','D#','E','F','F#','G','G#','A','A#','B','C','Db','D','Eb','E','F','Gb','G','Ab','A','Bb','B','C']; var chords2 = ['C','Db','D','Eb','E','F','Gb','G','Ab','A','Bb','B','C','C#','D','D#','E','F','F#','G','G#','A','A#','C']; var chordRegex = /(?:C#|D#|F#|G#|A#|Db|Eb|Gb|Ab|Bb|C|D|E|F|G|A|B)/g; function transposeUp(x) { $('.chord'+x).each(function(){ ///// initializes variables ///// var currentChord = $(this).text(); // gatheres each object var output = ""; var parts = currentChord.split(chordRegex); var index = 0; ///////////////////////////////// while (match = chordRegex.exec(currentChord)){ var chordIndex = chords2.indexOf(match[0]); output += parts[index++] + chords[chordIndex+1]; } output += parts[index]; $(this).text(output); }); } function transposeDown(x){ $('.chord'+x).each(function(){ var currentChord = $(this).text(); // gatheres each object var output = ""; var parts = currentChord.split(chordRegex); var index = 0; while (match = chordRegex.exec(currentChord)){ var chordIndex = chords2.indexOf(match[0],1); //var chordIndex = $.inArray(match[0], chords, -1); output += parts[index++] + chords2[chordIndex-1]; } output += parts[index]; $(this).text(output); }); } Any help is appreciated. Answer will be accepted! Thank You

  • jQuery attribute question

    - by Nick Simone
    I'm trying to select a series of divs one at a time. I'm sure theres a better way to do this, but I gave them all unique rels and I'm using the rels to select them one at a time. I want to move them over the width of the div, then animate it dropping down the screen. What I have is: $(document).ready(function(){ var totalbricks = 7; var index = 2; $(".brick").animate({top:"600px"}); while(index < totalbricks) { var postion = 45*index; $(".brick[rel='+index+']").css('left', postion+'px'); $(".brick[rel='+index+']").animate({top:"600px"}); index++; } }); All the divs are in a container div. Jquery docs say, 'Variables can be used using the following syntax: [name='" +MyVar+ "']' What am I doing wrong? Here is the HTML that is being used by the jQuery <body> <div id="container"> <div id="canvas"> <div class="brick" rel="1"> </div> <div class="brick" rel="2"> </div> <div class="brick" rel="3"> </div> <div class="brick" rel="4"> </div> <div class="brick" rel="5"> </div> <div class="brick" rel="6"> </div> <div class="brick" rel="7"> </div> </div> </div> </body>

  • How to update a property using Type.GetProperties() method?

    - by Richard77
    Hello, I've a collection of a class' properties and would like to update each one's value by iterating over the collection through the index. 1) I create the collection of properties this way private PropertyInfo[] GetPropertiesOfMyClass() { Type myType = (typeof(myClass)); PropertyInfo[] PropertyInfoArray = myType.GetProperties( BindingFlags.Public | BindingFlags.Instance); return PropertyInfoArray; } 2)Now, I'd like to set up the value of each one depending on the index this way public void UpdateProperty(MyClass instanceOfMyClass, string valueToUpdate, int index) { //TODO: //1. Get an individual property from the GetPropertyOfMyClass() using index //2. Update the value of an individual property of the instanceOfMyClass } I'd like to be able to call UpdateProperty from a Controller like this: UpdateProperty(instanceOfMyClass, valueToUpdate, indexOfTheProperty); Honestly, I do not know how to involve the instanceOfMyClass in the game as GetProperty only plays with myClass. Since I saw that I can use Name, PropertyType, ... to get information on the property. So, I've tried also GetPropertyOfMyClass()[index].SetValue(...), but I was lost in the arguments of its constructor, so I abandoned. What I want is to be able to update the value of a property in my collection just by using the index. Thanks for helping

  • regenerating url in cf9/Coldbox

    - by faheem7860
    Hi I am wondering if there is a way to regenerate the URL when any page is loaded in coldbox/CF9 when using event.buildLink ? Currently I get http://cawksd05.codandev.local:8080/entries/editor when using event.buildlink. But the correct url should have /index.cfm added to it as shown below: /index.cfm/entries/editor Is there a way to set this once and where does this get set as I am confused where to set this for all my pages so that /index.cfm gets added the the url prefix when I do an event.Buildlink. Thanks Faheem // General Properties setUniqueURLS(false); setAutoReload(false); // Base URL if( len(getSetting('AppMapping') ) lte 1){ setBaseURL("http://#cgi.HTTP_HOST#/index.cfm"); } else{ setBaseURL("http://#cgi.HTTP_HOST#/#getSetting('AppMapping')#/index.cfm"); } // Your Application Routes formatConstraints = {format="(xml|json)"}; addRoute(pattern="/api/:format/tasks/completed",handler="tasksAPI",action="list",constraints=formatConstraints,completed=true); addRoute(pattern="/api/:format/tasks",handler="tasksAPI",action="list",constraints=formatConstraints); addRoute(pattern="/api/:format?",handler="tasksAPI",action="invalid"); addRoute(pattern="/tasks/list/:status?",handler="tasks",action="index"); addRoute(pattern=":handler/:action?");

  • Formatting Parameters for Ajax POST request to Rails Controller - for jQuery-UI sortable list

    - by Hung Luu
    I'm using the jQuery-UI Sortable Connected Lists. I'm saving the order of the connected lists to a Rails server. My approach is to grab the list ID, column ID and index position of each list item. I want to then wrap this into an object that can be passed as a parameter back to the Rails Controller to be saved into the database. So ideally i'm looking to format the parameter like this: Parameters: {"Activity"=>[{id:1,column:2,position:1},{id:2,column:2,position:2} ,...]} How do I properly format my parameters to be passed in this Ajax POST request? Right now, with the approach below, I'm passing on Parameters: {"undefined"=>""} This is my current jQuery code (Coffeescript) which doesn't work: jQuery -> $('[id*="day"]').sortable( connectWith: ".day" placeholder: "ui-state-highlight" update: (event, ui) -> neworder = new Array() $('[id*="day"] > li').each -> column = $(this).attr("id") index = ui.item.index() + 1 id = $("#" + column + " li:nth-child(" + index + ") ").attr('id') passObject={} passObject.id = id passObject.column = column passObject.index = index neworder.push(passObject) alert neworder $.ajax url: "sort" type: "POST" data: neworder ).disableSelection() My apologies because this seems like a really amateur question but I'm just getting started with programming jQuery and Javascript.

  • Changing the indexing on existing table in SQL Server 2000

    - by Raj
    Guys, Here is the scenario: SQL Server 2000 (8.0.2055) Table currently has 478 million rows of data. The Primary Key column is an INT with IDENTITY. There is an Unique Constraint imposed on two other columns with a Non-Clustered Index. This is a vendor application and we are only responsible for maintaining the DB. Now the vendor has recommended doing the following "to improve performance" Drop the PK and Clustered Index Drop the non-clustered index on the two columns with the UNIQUE CONSTRAINT Recreate the PK, with a NON-CLUSTERED index Create a CLUSTERED index on the two columns with the UNIQUE CONSTRAINT I am not convinced that this is the right thing to do. I have a number of concerns. By dropping the PK and indexes, you will be creating a heap with 478 million rows of data. Then creating a CLUSTERED INDEX on two columns would be a really mammoth task. Would creating another table with the same structure and new indexing scheme and then copying the data over, dropping the old table and renaming the new one be a better approach? I am also not sure how the stored procs will react. Will they continue using the cached execution plan, considering that they are not being explicitly recompiled. I am simply not able to understand what kind of "performance improvement" this change will provide. I think that this will actually have the reverse effect. All thoughts welcome. Thanks in advance, Raj

  • Lucene setboost doesn't work

    - by Keven
    Hi all, OUr team just upgrade lucene from 2.3 to 3.0 and we are confused about the setboost and getboost of document. What we want is just set a boost for each document when add them into index, then when search it the documents in the response should have different order according to the boost I set. But it seems the order is not changed at all, even the boost of each document in the search response is still 1.0. Could some one give me some hit? Following is our code: String[] a = new String[] { "schindler", "spielberg", "shawshank", "solace", "sorcerer", "stone", "soap", "salesman", "save" }; List strings = Arrays.asList(a); AutoCompleteIndex index = new Index(); IndexWriter writer = new IndexWriter(index.getDirectory(), AnalyzerFactory.createAnalyzer("en_US"), true, MaxFieldLength.LIMITED); float i = 1f; for (String string : strings) { Document doc = new Document(); Field f = new Field(AutoCompleteIndexFactory.QUERYTEXTFIELD, string, Field.Store.YES, Field.Index.NOT_ANALYZED); doc.setBoost(i); doc.add(f); writer.addDocument(doc); i += 2f; } writer.close(); IndexReader reader2 = IndexReader.open(index.getDirectory()); for (int j = 0; j < reader2.maxDoc(); j++) { if (reader2.isDeleted(j)) { continue; } Document doc = reader2.document(j); Field f = doc.getField(AutoCompleteIndexFactory.QUERYTEXTFIELD); System.out.println(f.stringValue() + ":" + f.getBoost() + ", docBoost:" + doc.getBoost()); doc.setBoost(j); }

  • Counting problem C#

    - by MadBoy
    Hello, I've a bit of a problem. I'm adding numbers to ArrayList like 156, 340 (when it is TransferIn or Buy) etc and then i remove them doing it like 156, 340 (when it's TransferOut, Sell). Following solution works for that without a problem. The problem I have is that for some old data employees were entering sum's like 1500 instead of 500+400+100+500. How would I change it so that when there's Sell/TransferOut and there's no match inside ArrayList it should try to add multiple items from that ArrayList and find elements that combine into aggregate. ArrayList alNew = new ArrayList(); ArrayList alNewPoIle = new ArrayList(); ArrayList alNewCo = new ArrayList(); string tempAkcjeCzynnosc = (string) alInstrumentCzynnoscBezNumerow[i]; string tempAkcjeInId = (string) alInstrumentNazwaBezNumerow[i]; decimal varAkcjeCena = (decimal) alInstrumentCenaBezNumerow[i]; decimal varAkcjeIlosc = (decimal) alInstrumentIloscBezNumerow[i]; int index; switch (tempAkcjeCzynnosc) { case "Sell": case "TransferOut": index = alNew.IndexOf(varAkcjeIlosc); if (index != -1) { alNew.RemoveAt(index); alNewPoIle.RemoveAt(index); alNewCo.RemoveAt(index); } else { // Number without match encountred } break; case "Buy": case "TransferIn": alNew.Add(varAkcjeIlosc); alNewPoIle.Add(varAkcjeCena); alNewCo.Add(tempAkcjeInId); break; } }

  • UITableViewIndex Grows to Incorrect Bounds Unexpectedly

    - by chadburggraf
    I have a standard UITableView + UISearchDisplayController + UITableViewIndex setup. Everything works like a champ. Except, under very specific conditions, the index grows too long to display on the screen. Specifically, after ending a search and re-displaying the unfiltered, indexed table, the index sometimes grows too long. More specifically, this doesn't happen if I search then cancel. It only happens if I search, then push a view controller from the search table, then pop that view controller back to the still-searching table, then cancel the search, then re-search and then cancel that final search. After the end of the final search the index is too long. In portrait, the table view is reporting a height of 416 and the index a height of 404 under normal conditions. If I log from searchDisplayControllerDidEndSearch when the index is sized incorrectly, it is reporting a height of 620. I've tried everything from setLayout on the table and the index to manually re-sizing the frame. Nothing works (the manual re-size causes the correct height to be logged, but it doesn't change the display on screen). I was about to try re-sizing after a delay in case the cancel animation was interfering, but then I realized what an absurd situation I'm in and thought seeking help might be wise...

  • Animation is slow on iPhone

    - by Anthony Chan
    I'm developing an app that would display images and change them according to the user's action. I've created a subclass of UIView to contain an image, an index number and an array of image names. The code is like this: @interface CustomPic : UIView { UIImageView *pic; NSInteger index; NSMutableArray *picNames; //<-- an array of NSString } And in the implementation part, it has a method to change the image using a dissolve effect. - (void)nextPic { index++; if (index >= [picNames count]) { index = 0; } UIImageView *temp = pic; pic.image = [UIImage imageNamed:[picNames objectAtIndex:index]]; temp.alpha = 0; [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationCurve:UIViewAnimationCurveEaseOut]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.25]; pic.alpha = 0; temp.alpha = 1; [UIView commitAnimations]; } In the viewController, there are several CustomPic which would change the images depends on users' choice. The images would change as expected with the fade in/out effect, but the animation performance is really bad. I've tested it on an iPhone 3G, the Instruments shows that the animation is only 2-3FPS! I tried many methods to simplify and modify the codes but with no hope. Is there something wrong in my code or in my concept? Thanks for any help. P.S. all the images are 320*480 PNGs with a max size of 15KB.

  • IIS URL Rewrite rule - Default document for subdirectories

    - by Antonio Bakula
    I would like create URL rewrite rule that will set default document for my virtual folders. eg. someting like this www.domain.com/en/ -> www.domain.com/en/index.aspx www.domain.com/hr/ -> www.domain.com/hr/index.aspx www.domain.com/de/ -> www.domain.com/de/index.aspx directories en, hr, de doesn't really exists on web server they are just markers for languange used in site used by home grown http module that will rewrite path with query params. Quick solution was define rule for every single lang, something like this : <rewrite> <rewriteMaps> <rewriteMap name="Langs"> <add key="/en" value="/en/index.aspx" /> <add key="/hr" value="/hr/index.aspx" /> <add key="/de" value="/de/index.aspx" /> </rewriteMap> </rewriteMaps> <rules> But I would really like solution that would not require changes in web.config and adding rewrite rule for every languange used on particular site. Thanks !

  • nginx 0.7.65 rewrite url with querystring problem?

    - by WisdomFusion
    Hi, all Recently, I altered my web server lighty to nginx. And now, Struggling with some problems. First, I have a site in nginx which only rewrites urls and redircts them to a new domain, and this site has exactly no file in its root directory. I put some rewrite rules (just string rules, no querystring) in my nginx.conf list 1 rewrite ^/index_([0-9]+)(.*)$ /forum-$1-1.html last; rewrite ^/dispbbs_([0-9]+)_([0-9]+)\.html$ /thread-$2-1-1.html last; Those rules work perfect till now. However, some rules that used to rewrite url with querystring do not work as hoped. list 2 location /index.asp { if ($arg_boardid ~ "^([0-9]+)") { rewrite ^ /forum-$arg_boardid-1.html break; } rewrite ^ /index.php break; } location /dispbbs.asp { rewrite ^ /thread-$arg_id-1-1.html break; } And, these rules are converted from rules under httpd server, list 3 ^/dispbbs\.asp\?boardID=([0-9]+)&ID=([0-9]+).*$ /thread-$2-1-1.html; ^/dispbbs\.asp\?(.*)&id=([0-9]+)(.*)$ /thread-$2-1-1.html; ^/index\.asp\?boardid=([0-9]+)(.*)$ /forum-$1-1.html; ^/index\.asp\?boardid=([0-9]+)$ /forum-$1-1.html; ^/index\.asp$ /index.php; So, what's the matter with rules listed in the list 2? and how could I make it woking. • Finding ALL positions of a substring in a large string in C#

    - by Tommy
    Alright, so what i have, is a large string i need to parse, and what i need to happen, is find all the instances of extract"(me,i-have lots. of]punctuation, and store them to a list. So say this piece of string was in the beginning and middle of the larger string, both of them would be found, and their index's would be added to the List. and the List would contain 0 and the other index whatever it would be. Ive been playing around, and the string.IndexOf does almost what i'm looking for, and ive written some code. But i cant seem to get it to work: List<int> inst = new List<int>(); int index = 0; while (index < source.LastIndexOf("extract\"(me,i-have lots. of]punctuation", 0) + 39) { int src = source.IndexOf("extract\"(me,i-have lots. of]punctuation", index); inst.Add(src); index = src + 40; } inst = The list source = The large string Any better ideas?

    Hi this is my whole class ,I have added number 2 to the doubly linked list and then I want it to be be print in the concole but it will show this "datastructureproject.Node@f62373" thanks! package datastructureproject; public class DoublyLinkedList { private Node head = new Node(0); private Node tail = new Node(0); private int length = 0; public DoublyLinkedList() { head.setPrev(null); head.setNext(tail); tail.setPrev(head); tail.setNext(null); } public void add(int index, int value) throws IndexOutOfBoundsException { Node cursor = get(index); Node temp = new Node(value); temp.setPrev(cursor); temp.setNext(cursor.getNext()); cursor.getNext().setPrev(temp); cursor.setNext(temp); length++; } private Node get(int index) throws IndexOutOfBoundsException { if (index < 0 || index > length) { throw new IndexOutOfBoundsException(); } else { Node cursor = head; for (int i = 0; i < index; i++) { cursor = cursor.getNext(); } return cursor; } } public long size() { return length; } public boolean isEmpty() { return length == 0; } @Override public String toString() { StringBuffer result = new StringBuffer(); result.append("(head) - "); Node temp = head; while (temp.getNext() != tail) { temp = temp.getNext(); result.append(temp.getValue() + " - "); } result.append("(tail)"); return result.toString(); } public static void main(String[] args){ DoublyLinkedList list = new DoublyLinkedList(); list.add(0,2 ); System.out.println(list.get(0).toString()); } }

  • How to change the meaning of pointer access operator

    - by kumar_m_kiran
    Hi All, This may be very obvious question, pardon me if so. I have below code snippet out of my project, #include <stdio.h> class X { public: int i; X() : i(0) {}; }; int main(int argc,char *arv[]) { X *ptr = new X[10]; unsigned index = 5; cout<<ptr[index].i<<endl; return 0; } Question Can I change the meaning of the ptr[index] ? Because I need to return the value of ptr[a[index]] where a is an array for subindexing. I do not want to modify existing source code. Any new function added which can change the behavior is needed. Since the access to index operator is in too many places (536 to be precise) in my code, and has complex formulas inside the index subscript operator, I am not inclined to change the code in many locations. PS : 1. I tried operator overload and came to conclusion that it is not possible. 2. Also p[i] will be transformed into *(p+i). I cannot redefine the basic operator '+'. So just want to reconfirm my understanding and if there are any possible short-cuts to achieve. Else I need fix it by royal method of changing every line of code :) .

  • Rails log shows unexpected data as to the time spent on a DB stuff

    - by Arhimed
    I'm running on WinXP + Ruby 1.8.6 + Rails 2.3.5 (frozen to the project) in development environment. Looking at development.log I observe inconsistent data as to the time spent on a database stuff. Example #1 (good): Processing PagesController#index (for 127.0.0.1 at 2010-05-11 12:15:54) [GET] Parameters: {"action"=>"index", "controller"=>"pages"} City Columns (563.0ms) SHOW FIELDS FROM `cities` City Load (15.0ms) SELECT * FROM `cities` WHERE (`cities`.`short_name` = 'NY') LIMIT 1 Redirected to http://xyz:3000/sightings Completed in 953ms (DB: 578) | 302 Found [http://xyz/] Example #2 (unexpected): Processing PagesController#index (for 127.0.0.1 at 2010-05-11 12:15:36) [GET] Parameters: {"action"=>"index", "controller"=>"pages"} City Columns (0.0ms) SHOW FIELDS FROM `cities` City Load (0.0ms) SELECT * FROM `cities` WHERE (`cities`.`short_name` = 'NY') LIMIT 1 Redirected to http://xyz:3000/sightings Completed in 47ms (DB: 32) | 302 Found [http://xyz/] Example #2 shows 32ms were spent on DB while there were just 2 sql querries and both of zero time spent. Example #3 (unexpected): Processing PagesController#index (for 127.0.0.1 at 2010-05-11 11:21:24) [GET] Parameters: {"action"=>"index", "controller"=>"pages"} City Columns (63.0ms) SHOW FIELDS FROM `cities` City Load (62.0ms) SELECT * FROM `cities` WHERE (`cities`.`short_name` = 'NY') LIMIT 1 Redirected to http://xyz:3000/sightings Completed in 1187ms (DB: 297) | 302 Found [http://xyz/] Example #3 shows 297ms while there were querries of 63ms and 62ms (125ms in total). Can't understand it. Could someone explain? Thanks in advance.

  • Sorting XML file through multiple attributes

    - by jbugeja
    I want to sort a 'free-form' XML file through multiple attributes (first by T and then by L). The XML is a bit complex and it is structured as shown below: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <wb xmlns:cf="http://www.macromedia.com/2004/cfform" xmlns:a="urn:dummy"> <a:form name="chart"> <a:fieldset FIELD="a" FIELDNAME="FieldSet1"> <a:select1 FIELDNUMBER="01" L="1" T="2" /> <a:input FIELDNUMBER="02" INDEX="4" L="200" T="1" /> </a:fieldset> <a:fieldset FIELD="b" FIELDNAME="FieldSet1"> <a:select1 FIELDNUMBER="03" T="3" L="1" /> <a:input FIELDNUMBER="04" INDEX="7" T="4" L="200" /> <a:fieldset FIELD="c" FIELDNAME="FieldSet1"> <a:input FIELDNUMBER="05" T="10" INDEX="6" L="400" /> <a:input FIELDNUMBER="06" T="8" INDEX="8" L="200" /> </a:fieldset> </a:fieldset> <a:input FIELDNUMBER="08" INDEX="3" L="3" T="5" /> <a:input FIELDNUMBER="09" INDEX="2" L="2" T="4" /> </a:form> </wb> PS: The root element is wb and this is always followed by a:form The L and T are always found in elements that have a tag in the namespace a, the only exception being a:fieldset which does not have L and T a:fieldset could have multiple children of the namespace a including another a:fieldset We can also assume that L denotes Left and T denotes Top. So, the idea of this is that when I view the transformed XML I can immediately note which elements precede what. What's your take on this?

  • using 'or' operator not working for menu

    - by John Wilkes
    In my code here, I have a CSS class called "active" which I use if the $_GET['page'] == tutorials, php, mysql, etc... The problem is, even if the 'page' variable is not equal to any of these values, the Tutorials button in this case is still active for some reason. Any ideas why this would be happening? Am I using the 'or' (||) operand incorrectly? <?php if($_GET['page'] == 'tutorials' || 'php' || 'mysql' || 'html' || 'css' || 'js') { ?> <li class="active"> <?php } else { ?> <li> <?php } ?> <a href="index.php?page=tutorials">Tutorials</a> <ul> <li><a href="index.php?page=php">PHP</a></li> <li><a href="index.php?page=mysql">MySQL</a></li> <li><a href="index.php?page=html">HTML</a></li> <li><a href="index.php?page=css">CSS</a></li> <li><a href="index.php?page=js">JS</a></li> </ul> </li>
