  • Entity Framework One-To-One Mapping Issues

    - by Baddie
Using VS 2010 beta 2, ASP.NET MVC. I tried to create an Entity framework file and got the data from my database. There were some issues with the relationships, so I started to tweak things around, but I kept getting the following error for simple one-to-one relationships Error 1 Error 113: Multiplicity is not valid in Role 'UserProfile' in relationship 'FK_UserProfiles_Users'. Because the Dependent Role properties are not the key properties, the upper bound of the multiplicity of the Dependent Role must be *. myEntities.edmx 2024 My Users table is consists of some other many-to-many relationships to other tables, but when I try to make a one-to-one relationship with other tables, that error pops up. I have copied zipped file from the playframework.org website and unzipped it at a location. I have inserted it in my .bashrc profile to set up as PATH environment. But still, the play command is not accessible from anywhere. And even in the installed directory of the framework, the play file is not running as it is. I have to prefix python before any play command to run it. Am i making a mistake somewhere? Please help me.

  • CSS positioning inside div

    I am using a div with 2 elements inside and I want to position my 1st element to be vertically aligned top and 2nd element to the bottom of the div. The div is the right portion of my page and equal to the height of my main content. #right { float:right; width: 19%; background:#FF3300; margin-left:2px; padding-bottom: 100%; margin-bottom: -100%; } #right .top { display:block; background-color:#CCCCCC; } #right .bottom { bottom:0px; display:block; background-color:#FFCCFF; height:60px; } HTML: <div id="right"> <span class="top">Top element</span> <span class="bottom"><img src="images/logo_footer1.gif" width="57" height="57" align="left" class="img">&nbsp;<img src="images/logo_footer2.gif" width="57" height="57" align="right" class="img"></span> </div> I want the right div to be like this:

  • Div positioning problem related to Relative and Absolute positioning

    - by abszero
    Hello everyone. The problem I am running into is related to a footer I have absolutely positioned at the bottom of the page. Everything is fine until the copy on the page begins to extend further down the page which then causes my content wells to extend down, behind, the footer. Is there anyway I can force my content wells to 'push' the footer down the page? Here is the relevant html: <div id="page"> <div id="page_container"> <div id="header"></div> <div id="nav"></div> <div id="main_content"> <div id="left_column"></div> <div id="right_column"></div> </div> </div> </div> <div id="footer"> <div id="footer_container"> </div> </div> And the relevant CSS #page {width:100%;margin:0 0 10px 0; text-align:center;} #page_container {width:743px;height:auto !important;height:100%;margin:0 auto;min-height:100%;text-align:center;overflow:hidden;border:2px solid #000;} #header {width:100%;background:url('../images/header.jpg');height:87px;clear:both; margin-top: -2px;} #nav {width:100%;height:29px;float:left; text-align:left; border-bottom: solid 2px #000; border-top: solid 2px #000;} #main_content {width:100%;float:left; text-align:left; background-color:#fff; border-bottom: solid 2px #000; border-left: solid 2px #000; border-right: solid 2px #000;} #footer {width:100%; position:absolute;margin-top:10px; bottom: 0; background:url('../images/footer_bg.jpg');height:133px;text-align:center;} #footer_container{width:746px;height:133px; text-align:left; display:inline-block;} #left_column {width:230px; float:left; text-align:left; background-color:#fff; margin-top:5px;} #right_column {width:490px; float:right; text-align:left; background-color:#fff;margin-top:5px; padding:10px;} Thanks for any help you might be able to give!

  • Unable to list owned images and running instances from Amazon Web Services using Zend Framework

    - by Marcel Tjandraatmadja
I am using Zend Framework's library to manage EC2 instances and AMI. However I can't list the AMI's I own and can't list existing EC2 instances. $ec2Instance = new Zend_Service_Amazon_Ec2_Instance($awsAccessKey, $awsSecretKey); $instances = $ec2Instance ->describe(); $ec2Instance -describe() should list all instances but it is returning no instances even though I have three of them running at this time. $ami = new Zend_Service_Amazon_Ec2_Image($awsAccessKey, $awsSecretKey); $images = $ami->describe(); $ami-describe() returns all the public images but none of them are the ones I created even though I have two AMIs. Does any one know what I am missing here?

  • Fluid CSS: floating column with max-width and overflow

    - by Ates Goral
I'm using a fluid layout in the new theme that I'm working on for my blog. I often blog about code and include <pre> blocks within the posts. The float: left column for the content area has a max-width so that the column stops at a certain maximum width and can also be shrunk: +----------+ +------+ | text | | text | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | +----------+ +------+ max shrunk What I want is for the <pre> elements to be wider than the text column so that I can fit 80-character-wrapped code without horizontal scroll bars. But I want the <pre> elements to overflow from the content area, without affecting its fluidity: +----------+ +------+ | text | | text | | | | | +----------+--+ +------+------+ | code | | code | +----------+--+ +------+------+ | | | | +----------+ +------+ max shrunk But, max-width stops being fluid once I insert the overhanging <pre> in there: the width of the column remains at the specified max-width even when I shrink the browser beyond that width. I've reproduced the issue with this bare-minimum scenario: <div style="float: left; max-width: 460px; border: 1px solid red"> <p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit</p> <pre style="max-width: 700px; border: 1px solid blue"> function foo() { // Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit } </pre> <p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit</p> </div> I noticed that doing either of the following brings back the fluidity: Remove the <pre> (doh...) Remove the float: left The workaround I'm currently using is to insert the <pre> elements into "breaks" in the post column, so that the widths of the post segments and the <pre> segments are managed mutually exclusively: +----------+ +------+ | text | | text | +----------+ +------+ +-------------+ +-------------+ | code | | code | +-------------+ +-------------+ +----------+ +------+ +----------+ +------+ max shrunk But this forces me to insert additional closing and opening <div> elements into the post markup which I'd rather keep semantically pristine. Admittedly, I don't have a full grasp of how the box model works with floats with overflowing content, so I don't understand why the combination of float: left on the container and the <pre> inside it cripple the max-width of the container. I'm observing the same problem on Firefox/Chrome/Safari/Opera. IE6 (the crazy one) seems happy all the time. This also doesn't seem dependent on quirks/standards mode. Update I've done further testing to observe that max-width seems to get ignored when the element has a float: left. I glanced at the W3C box model chapter but couldn't immediately see an explicit mention of this behaviour. Any pointers?

  • Print.css issue in Webkit

    - by Andrew
The page in question is featured here: http://www.allwebcafe.com/news/news-article.php?id=78 For some reason, when a user attempts to print any article of this type from a Webkit-based browser (I've confirmed this in both Safari and Chrome), the pages are all blank. On the flip side, everything behaves as expected in both Firefox and Internet Explorer. Thoughts?

  • Entity Framework - SaveChanges with GUID as EntityKey

    - by MissingLinq
I have a SQL Server 2008 database table that uses uniqueidentifier as a primary key. On inserts, the key is generated on the database side using the newid() function. This works fine with ADO.NET. But when I set up this table as an entity in an Entity Framework 4 model, there's a problem. I am able to query the entity just fine, but when creating a new entity and invoking SaveChanges() on the context, the generated uniqueidentifier on the database is all zeros. I understand there was an issue with EF v1 where this scenario did not work, requiring creating the GUID on the client prior to calling SaveChanges. However, I had read in many places that they were planning to fix this in EF 4. My question -- is this scenario (DB-side generation of uniqueidentifier) still not supported in EF4? Are we still stuck with generating the GUID on the client?

  • Entity Framework and consuming a WCF service

    - by nakori
I'm getting data where the database is hidden behind a WCF service. Is it possible to use Entity Framework in a scenario where I have custom objects coming from a web service? (No access to the external database, and no current plans for insert/update/delete logic) Starting with an empty EF model and adding an entity I get this error on compile: No mapping specified for instances of the EntitySet and AssociationSet in the EntityContainer .. Is it possible to make an entity this way, and fill it with data received from an object? (In this case a WCF, but could also be a predefined model class/xml data) If the web service retured a Customer object I could do something like this with a dataset: Make an unbound table and do a loop through the customer properties adding them to a temp row, add it with tbl_Customer.Addtbl_CustomerRow(customerRow) to get my view filled. thanks, nakori

  • Entity Framework - Medium Trust

    - by Echilon
I'm trying to get the entity framework working in medium trust. I've tried splitting the files and using a separate assembly but I seem to have one problem after another. I moved the EDMX to a separate assembly, which causes a single .dll to be outpit to the sites /Bin directory. I'm referencing this as below from web.config. Whenever I try to access one of the entity classes, I get an ArgumentException: 'An item with the same key has already been added.' It's critical this works with medium trust, but I seem to be running out of options. Any advice greatly appreciated.

  • Flow diagram in html/css

    - by viraptor
Hi, is there some good way to create a flow / swimline diagram without resorting to scripting or tables? I'm talking about showing different hosts sending packets (so hosts on the X axis, time on the Y and arrows to the destination host). It seems like too much elements for tables (especially the arrows spanning multiple columns either way), but on the other hand, divs would be hard to position in the right place horizontally (they'd have to be basically aligned to a specified "column"). Is there any good way out? Any helper frameworks? (I don't want to do canvas stuff unless really needed)

  • Best Practices - Data Annotations vs OnChanging in Entity Framework 4

    - by jptacek
I was wondering what the general recommendation is for Entity Framework in terms of data validation. I am relatively new to EF, but it appears there are two main approaches to data validation. The first is to create a partial class for the model, and then perform data validations and update a rule violation collection of some sort. This is outlined at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc716747.aspx The other is to use data annotations and then have the annotations perform data validation. Scott Guthrie explains this on his blog at http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2010/01/15/asp-net-mvc-2-model-validation.aspx. I was wondering what the benefits are of one over the other. It seems the data annotations would be the preferred mechanism, especially as you move to RIA Services, but I want to ensure I am not missing something. Of course, nothing precludes using both of them together. Thanks John

  • False Duplicate Key Error in Entity Framework Application

In an import routine, with the code below, I get a "Cannot insert duplicate key" exception for AccountNum on the SaveChanges call, but when execution stops for the exception, I can query the database for the apparently duplicated field, and no prior record exists. using (var ents = new PvmmsEntities()) { foreach (DataRow row in importedResources.Rows) { var empCode = row["EmployeeCode"].ToString(); try { var resource = ents.ActivationResources.FirstOrDefault(rs => rs.EmployeeCode == empCode); if (resource == null) { resource = new ActivationResources(); resource.EmployeeCode = empCode; ents.AddToActivationResources(resource); } resource.AccountNum = row["AccountNum"].ToString(); ents.SaveChanges(true); } catch(Exception ex) { } } }

  • Better way to make side-by-side DIVs in CSS

    - by JoelFan
I have 2 DIV's that I want to be side-by-side under all circumstances. So far I am accomplishing it like this: <div style="float: left"> <table> ... </table> </div> <div style="float: right; overflow: scroll; width: 1000px"> <pre> ... </pre> </div> However, I don't like that I have to specify an absolute width in the 2nd div. I just want the 1st div to be the minimum width to display the table and 2nd div to take up the rest of the space without overflowing. Is there a better way?
