• UITableViewCell color issues with custom table view background

  I have a UITableView with a custom background image set like this: self.tableView.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithPatternImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"mybg.png"]]; The background appears fine, but my UITableViewCells (default cells, not custom) have some sort of weird tint to them, and the UILabel containing the "New Project" text also seems to have some sort of background behind it. How can I remove this? I've already tried: cell.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; cell.textLabel.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; Thanks

  If a JFrame has a JDialog modal open, the JDialog is animated (the borders and title bar have a lighter colour) if any other part of the application is clicked other than the JDialog with focus. The user is made aware of the window in focus to attend to first. I have a Swing application with custom dialogs, setUndecorated(true) and custom title bars. Is it possible to implement the behaviour described above for these custome dialogs?

  Hello i am using a resized version of this marker( http://www.clker.com/clipart-orange-pin-4.html ) for showing markers in google maps on android. The problem is i don't know how to make the marker point match the coordinates. The arrow point is at about 1/5 of the Width coordinates and MAX of the Height. here is my class public class GestionaleItemizedOverlay extends com.google.android.maps.ItemizedOverlay { public GestionaleItemizedOverlay(Drawable defaultMarker, Context context) { //super(boundCenterBottom(defaultMarker)); super(boundCenter(defaultMarker)); this.mContext = context; } ...   Hello, I have a Map, which I tried to iterate over with JSTL. Somehow I could not accomplish even this basic task. I also referred the questions here and here, but that is what I am already doing, still no success. What I tried to do was: <c:forEach items="${myMap}" var="myEntry"> ${myEntry.key} + ${myEntry.value} </c:forEach> But I always get the last object.   i want to show text using quartz 2d. Text will be drawing randomly on different position after each 1 seconds. I am not sure how i can use NSTimer with quartz 2D text. I can draw text in drawRect method where graphics context is already available. How i will draw text using my custom method myDraw which will be called after 1 second using NSTimer? If i create my custom Method the graphics context is not available in that method.

• kick off a map reduce job from my java/mysql webapp

  Hi guys, I need a bit of archecture advice. I have a java based webapp, with a JPA based ORM backed onto a mysql relational database. Now, as part of the application I have a batch job that compares thousands of database records with each other. This job has become too time consuming and needs to be parallelized. I'm looking at using mapreduce and hadoop in order to do this. However, I'm not too sure about how to integrate this into my current architecture. I think the easiest initial solution is to find a way to push data from mysql into hadoop jobs. I have done some initial research on this and found the following relevant information and possibilities: 1) https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-2536 this gives an interesting overview of some inbuilt JDBC support 2) This article http://architects.dzone.com/articles/tools-moving-sql-database describes some third party tools to move data from mysql to hadoop. To be honest I'm just starting out with learning about hbase and hadoop but I really don't know how to integrate this into my webapp. Any advice is greatly appreciated. cheers, Brian

Now I deployed my project onto the production server and the management command does not show up, respectively is not available. But I did not get an error message deploying the project (syncdb). Any ideas where I could try to begin to search? Is there a special command that all custom management commands are "autodiscovered"?

  I would make to make a small WYSIWYG editor similar to the one used by StackOverflow. Basically, it would have buttons like [quote], and when that button is clicked, [quote] [/quote] should be inserted in the textarea where the cursor is or at the end of all other text. If the [quote][/quote] could be highlighted in some way that would be even more excellent, but its not required. Is there any WYSIWYG editor already available where you can add custom buttons, with custom text being added to the textbox as a result?
