  OK that's the worst title I could ever possibly think up. But I'm not too sure how to phrase it! What I mean is, is it inefficient for the browser, search engine optimisation, or any other important factors, if programmatically my float:righted sidebar appears in the markup before the main content div, which is set to float:left? To the user, the main content appears on the left, and the sidebar on the right. In the source code it appears like so: <div id="sidebar">This is where my sidebar goes </div> <div id="content">This is where my content goes </div> Will this affect SEO or other factors in my page?

  I had to solve this question in which given a string, i had to return the first non repeating character present in the string. I solved it using hashtable and wrote a method which takes a constant reference to the string and returns the first non repeating character. However, when there is no non repeating character present in the string, i return -1 and in the main program i check as follows char c = firstNonRepeating( word ); if (static_cast<int> (c) == -1) cout<<"no non repeating character present\n"; else cout<<c<<endl; is that the correct way to return -1 when required character is not present?

• C++ adding friend to a template class in order to typecast

  I'm currently reading "Effective C++" and there is a chapter that contains code similiar to this: template <typename T> class Num { public: Num(int n) { ... } }; template <typename T> Num<T> operator*(const Num<T>& lhs, const Num<T>& rhs) { ... } Num<int> n = 5 * Num<int>(10); The book says that this won't work (and indeed it doesn't) because you can't expect the compiler to use implicit typecasting to specialize a template. As a soluting it is suggested to use the "friend" syntax to define the function inside the class. //It works template <typename T> class Num { public: Num(int n) { ... } friend Num operator*(const Num& lhs, const Num& rhs) { ... } }; Num<int> n = 5 * Num<int>(10); And the book suggests to use this friend-declaration thing whenever I need implicit conversion to a template class type. And it all seems to make sense. But why can't I get the same example working with a common function, not an operator? template <typename T> class Num { public: Num(int n) { ... } friend void doFoo(const Num& lhs) { ... } }; doFoo(5); This time the compiler complaints that he can't find any 'doFoo' at all. And if i declare the doFoo outside the class, i get the reasonable mismatched types error. Seems like the "friend ..." part is just being ignored. So is there a problem with my understanding? What is the difference between a function and an operator in this case?

• SAP .NET connector takes a long time to fetch results on first attempt

  I have an issue with the SAP .NET Connector I have built a web application (ASP.NET, C#) that connects to SAP BAPI procedure to fetch results from SAP database. I have connected it to SAP BAPI procedure and it also fetches the results for the web application. My issue is, during the first attempt it takes 25 to 30 seconds to fetch the results, but from the second attempt onwards the results are fetched with no time. I don't know exactly why it is taking so long to fetch the results on the first attempt. Can somebody help me with this?

  We're building a Win Mobile 6 warehouse app which needs to update our server based corporate DB. We've got a C# business layer that sits on our app server and we'd really like our warehouse app to go through this. We also like MS Synch Services. Is there a way to combine the two ie can we use sync services but get them to go through our business layer ? Has anyone done this and got an example I can follow ?   I have a class instance variable on one of my AR classes. I set its value at boot with an initializer and, after that, never touch it again except to read from it. In development mode, this value disappears after the first request to the web server. • Prolog - Finding the current directory, relative directory for 'tell' predicate

  I'm having trouble trying to figure out how to get prolog to spit out a text file where I want it to. I'm currently doing a bunch of operations and then using tell('output.txt') to record the output. Now the problem is that when I do this, it creates this file in the SWI \bin\ folder. I was wondering if there's a way to make it create this file in the directory containing the actual .pl file. So even if the file was moved (and it will be), the text file gets created right where the source file is. Long story short, is there a way to get the location of the source file once the source file has been consulted? Many Thanks!

If you run the above code you'll hopefully see... 1) Editing the text widget triggers the event handler but it seems to fire it off without registering the actual change, 2) Even when the text widget is cleared (ie, keep pressing BackSpace) it still seems to have a one character length string, 3) The output widget only receives its update when the NEXT event trigger is fired despite the fact the data came on the previous event. Is this just how bindings work in tkinter or am i missing something here? The behaviour i would like when updating the input widget is: 1) Show the change, 2) Enter event handler, 3) Update output widget, 4) Show message box.

  Hi, I am new to Maya and trying to figure out how to use Python in Maya. I wanted to create a shelf in Maya and when I click that shelf, it will execute a file containing python code. First thing, I figured out that we can't simply "source" python script. I followed tutorial from http://www.rtrowbridge.com/blog/2008/11/maya-python-import-scripts/, so now I have a function psource(). In my shelf, I can just call psource("myPythonScript") My problem is I have to somehow register psource() when Maya first loaded. Do you have any idea how to do this? Thanks!

  Hi Folks, I am creating a store in Magento and have a weird issue with IE6 and the ordered lists on my page. For some reason, IE6 ignores the horizontal margin on my first list. Not the first element in the list but the whole list. I have multiple list on the page.   I'm overriding onPrepareOptionsMenu to hide and show menu items. When testing it with the API level 16 emulator; onPrepareOptionsMenu is not called when opening the menu for the first time. But when i reopen the menu it works. The problem is only with the first usage. I´m trying to do something like you do in a spreadsheet where you have a fixed header and the first column too So when scroll the uitableview vertically the header will stay visible at top of the table and rows will change And finally when you scroll in horizontal direction the first cell of the row will stay visible and will change the header depending of how you scroll the uitableview I hope you could give me an idea how to get this, because I don't imagine how to do this, also I don´t have a lot of experience with this programming language.   Although in Oracle DB its is allowed to parametrize the number of rows that the query can fetch by adding to the query: select ... from ... where ... and rownum <= @MaximumRecords I can't add similar condition to acuivalent query running in DB2: It is allowed to add: select ... from ... where ... fetch first 500 rows only (where there is fixed number of rows) but not: select ... from ... where ... fetch first :1 rows only (:1 == @MaximumRecords) Is someone aware of a solution/work-around to this problem?
