  I have the following command button set up in a facelet: <h:commandButton action="#{addressAction.deletePreviousAddress}" value="#{bundle['button.deleteAddress']}" styleClass="deg-form-button" immediate="true"> <f:setPropertyActionListener target="#{addressAction.addressActionForm.previousAddress}" value="#{address}"> </f:setPropertyActionListener> </h:commandButton> In AddressAction, the following code gets run to delete a previous address on the form: public Enum<NavigationConstants> deletePreviousAddress() { addressActionForm.getPreviousAddresses().remove(addressActionForm.getPreviousAddress()); return NavigationConstants.addresses; } Before I made the address input components "required=true", this code worked fine and removed the previous address from the jsf form successfully. Right now, I can't successfully delete a previous address because validation is occurring and stating that the input components need to be filled in on the previous address record on the form. How can I bypass this validation? I thought the "immediate=true" attribute on the command button would have accomplished it but that's not cutting it in my case...

  Hi! I'm doing client side validation on a project I'm working on. Everything works, except for the minimumlength property of the StringLength attribute (it works when submitting and a serverside validation is done): [StringLength(50, MinimumLength = 6)] The javascript generated by Html.EnableClientValication(); is the following: // snip {"FieldName":"User.Password","ReplaceValidationMessageContents":true,"ValidationMessageId":"User_Password_validationMessage","ValidationRules":[{"ErrorMessage":"The field Password must be a string with a minimum length of 6 and a maximum length of 50.","ValidationParameters":{"minimumLength":0,"maximumLength":50},"ValidationType":"stringLength"}]}],"FormId":"form0","ReplaceValidationSummary":false}) The important thing is here: {"minimumLength":0,"maximumLength":50} It produces javascript with the wrong minimumproperty. You guys have a hint? Is this a possible bug?

  I am using a lot of my own validation methods to compare the data from one association to the other. I've noticed that I'm constantly checking that my associations aren't nil before trying to call anything on them, but I am also validating their presence, and so I feel that my nil checks are redundant. Here's an example: class House < ActiveRecord::Base has_one :enterance, :class => Door has_one :exit, :class => Door validates_presence_of :enterance, :exit validate :not_a_fire_hazard def not_a_fire_hazard if enterance && exit && enterance.location != exit.location errors.add_to_base('If there is a fire you will most likely die') return false end end end I feel like I am repeating myself by checking the existence of enterance and exit within my own validation. Is there a more "The Rails Way" to do this?

  I have a page (call it form.php) with a form for users to fill out. When the form is submitted, I want to validate it with a server-side script (call it validate.php if necessary, although the code could also go in one of the other pages if that would be better). If any part of the form fails validation, I want to kick back to form.php with the fields the user needs to fix highlighted. If the form passes validation, I want to go to another page, success.php. Which page should I put in the "action" attribute of the <form> element, and what's the best way to get from that page to one of the others?

• CodeIgniter Validation in Library does not accept callback.

  Hey guys, my problem is the following: I am writing a login library. This library has a function _validation() and this uses the validation library to validate the data. With using normal validation methods it works just fine, but using a callback function just does not work. It is not called. I call it like this. $this->CI->form_validation->set_rules('user', 'Username', 'required|callback__check_user'); The functions name is _check_user and it uses the username _check_user($user). The function itself works fine and I can also call it in the class ($this-_check_user('username')) with a working result. I am guessing, there might be a problem because I am not workin in a controller so I have a CI instance $this-CI instead of just the original instance $this- Does anyone have a clue how to fix this?   I need to search the web for sites that are in our industry that use the same Adwords management company, to ensure that the said company is not violating our contract, as they have been accused of doing. They use a tracking code in the template of every page which has a certain domain in the URL, and I'm wondering if it's possible "Google" the source code using some bot that crawls the code rather than the content? For example, I bought an unlimited license for an image gallery, and I was asked to type the license number in a comment just before the script. I thought it was just so a human could look at the source and find out if someone paid, but it turned out that it was actually that they had a crawler looking for their source code and that comment. If it ran across the code on your site, it would look for the comment, and if it found one, it would check to see if it was an existing one. If not, it would first notify you of your noncompliance, and then notify the owner of the script. Edit: I'm looking to index HTML and JavaScript only, not the server-side languages or Java.

• Why is FF on OS X loosing jQuery-UI in click event handler?

  In a web page using jQUery 1.7.1 and jQUery-UI 1.8.18, if I output $.ui in an alert box when the document is ready, I get [object Object]. However when using Firefox, if I output $.ui in a click event handler, I get 'undefined' as result. With other browsers (latest versions of IE, Chrome and Safari), the result is still [object Object] when clicking on the link.   Been trying to decide between using CodeMirror or Ace editor. I've been leaning towards CodeMirror, however there's one feature of Ace that I really like and that is how it does syntax validation. So as I'm typing there can appear a warning or error icon in the left gutter area beside the line number, and when I hover over it it gives me a little description. Is there any way to get this functionality in CodeMirror? Specifically, I'm using the css mode for CodeMirror. It'd also be nice to be able to add in my own custom validation. Thanks.

  I have a simple form: a combobox and a textbox. My combobox has 2 values: A and B. When value A is selected I want textbox to use a validation rule. When value B is selected there should be no validation rules applied to the textbox. I've read an article that has a solution and I'm trying to use it, but had no luck so far, and I think there might be a more elegant solution. Has anyone done anything like this before? • How can I support objects larger than a single tile in a 2D tile engine?

  I´m currently working on a 2D Engine containing an isometric tile map. It´s running quite well but I'm not sure if I´ve chosen the best approach for that kind of engine. What I want my engine to support is like having groups of MapCells since I would like to add objects to my tile map (e.g. a house with a size of 2x2 tiles). How should I do that? Should I edit my MapCell object that it may has a reference to other related tiles and how can I find an object while clicking on single MapCells? Or should I do another approach using a global container with all objects in it?

  We are building a multithreaded game engine and we've encountered some problems as described below. The engine have 3 threads in total: script, render, and audio. Each frame, we update these 3 threads simultaneously. As these threads updating themselves, they produce some tasks and put them into a public storage area. As all the threads finish their update, each thread go and copy the tasks for themselves one by one. After all the threads finish their task copying, we make the threads process those tasks and update these threads simultaneously as described before. So this is the general idea of the task schedule part of our engine. Ok, well, all the task schedule part work well, but here's the problem: For the simplest, I'll take Camera as an example: local oldPos = camera:getPosition() -- ( 0, 0, 0 ) camera:setPosition( 1, 1, 1 ) -- Won't work now, cuz the render thread will process the task at the beginning of the next frame local newPos = camera:getPosition() -- Still ( 0, 0, 0 ) So that's the problem: If you intend to change a property of an object in another thread, you have to wait until that thread process this property-changing message. As a result, what you get from the object is still the information in the last frame. So, is there a way to solve this problem? Or are we build the task schedule part in a wrong way? • ASP.NET MVC 2 JQuery POST not displaying the model state errors

  Hello, I have been using asp.net mvc for a bit (but I'm still a beginer). I want to have the ability to update two views as a result of a jquery postback. Basically I have a list and a details view. The details view is presented using a jquery popup (using jquery-UI popup). I only want to update the list if the details save is successful (i.e. there are no validation errors on the details view). However, if there are any validation errros in the details view, I want to update the details view so that the user sees the validation errors. so I thought in my controller, I return a JsonResult instead of a View. [HttpPost] public ActionResult SavePersonInfo(Person p) { if(ModelState.Valid) { return View("PersonList"); } return Json({Error = true, View = PartialView("PersonDetails", p)}); } As you can see if there are no errors I return the person list view, but if there are any validation errors, I have return the details view. The reason that I'm returning a JsonResult is I need to tell my view there is an error so that the view (jquery) knows which section to update (as in whether to update the person list 'div' or the popup dialog 'div'). I do have valication summary and Html.ValidationFor(m = ...) statements put in my details view. Could someone tell me why I'm not seeing the validation errors? although I'm using a JSonResult, I do use the right property which is a valid view when I render the 'dvDetails'. Am I doing something that I'm not suppose to in asp.net mvc? Btw I'm using asp.net mvc2 RC with Visual Studio 2010 RC. Thank you.

• how to indicate a change in list elements' order using jquery?

  i am using jquery sortable. right now i have a list of items that i can ALREADY use drag and drop. which is cool. i will use a submit button at the bottom of the list to submit the new order. the change in the list is not automatically submitted. All i need is somehow indicate that an element's position has changed. • How to apply CSS theme to only a specific jQuery-UI element?

  I have a web site already build with my own CSS theme. I'm using jQuery UI "tabs" widget but no CSS from jQuery-UI. Now, I'm trying to add the "Date Picker" widget in one of my page. It would be great if I could reuse jQuery-UI default theme which is just fine. The problem is that the date picker theme is also applied to my tabs CSS. For example the "ui-widget" css properties is applied to both date picker and tabs elements. I can't seem to find a way to apply the css properties to only the date picker. I can't see a "super selector" that only applies to the date picker DIV. What would be the best way to handle this? [EDIT] The datepicker widget is really the problem. I cannot apply CSS style specific to it. Here is the starting code of the DIV that get pops up: <div style="position: absolute; top: 300.4px; left: 149px; display: block;" id="ui-datepicker-div" class="ui-datepicker ui-widget ui-widget-content ui-helper-clearfix ui-corner-all ui-helper-hidden-accessible"><div class="ui-datepicker-header ui-widget-header ui-helper-clearfix ui-corner-all"> As such, I cannot add a super selector.   I have just jquery pagination plugin to work... But what happens is when i click page number 2 i get the first page and when i click 3 i get second page and so on.... My initial page my current page value changes to 0 instead 1 this causes the problem... • Is it possible to supply the jQuery Validation plugin with a rules object?

  I took the rules that I'd been using to validate my form and broke them out into a JSON object, hoping to use the same set of rules for client/server validation. So, where I had: $(document.getElementById('new_listing_form')).validate({ rules: { apt: { required: true } } }); I'm attempting to use: var rules_obj = { apt: { required: true } }; $(document.getElementById('new_listing_form')).validate({ rules: rules_obj }); ... and the form is not being validated. Does anyone know if this is possible?
