  • Browser show incomplete JSP data

    - by memoryleaks
I am using JSP, Struts 1.3 and Apache Tomcat 5.5. For some reason response from JSP is being truncated and complete information is not shown. Class generated from the problem JSP page looks just fine. There are no any errors logged in Catalina's logs. I have no idea how this issue can be fixed.

  • How do I organise my libraries in sub-directories in a web application project

    - by Ravish Bhagdev
I am working on a huge web-application with hundreds of dependencies (jar files). I want to organise the jars in sensible way as each piece of software comes with its bunch of jar files and when I want to remove or upgrade version of that software it will be easier to do if kept in sub directories. Problem is that when using a web-server (I'm using tomcat), all libs need to be under WEB-INF/lib folder, you cannot create subdirectories otherwise it doesn't load the jars in subdirectories. Thanks.

  • Use WampServer's MySQL as a real MySQL for going on the net.

    - by Auxiliary
Is this a right thing to do? I am using the Apache/Tomcat that comes with the liferay portal bundle and I used the MySQL that comes with WampServer at home but now I want to transfer my portal to a real Server and I wanted to know whether I could still use the Wamp's MySQL or should I install a real MySQL (What's the difference?) Thanks in advance.

  • Saving objects in servlet session and java.io.NotSerializableException

    - by EugeneP
SEVERE: IOException while loading persisted sessions: java.io.WriteAbortedException: writi ng aborted; java.io.NotSerializableException: That means this object cannot be persisted on hard disk. Does it imply that it's not safe to keep in Session objects that do not implement "Serializable"? I haven't heard that there are limitations on saving non-serializable objects in Session object. It simply means that Tomcat will always keep them in memory, right?

  • Nutch search always returns 0 results

    - by darbour
I have set up nutch 1.0 on a cluster. It has been setup and has successfully crawled, I copied the crawl directory using the dfs -copyToLocal and set the value of searcher.dir in the nutch-site.xml file located in the tomcat directory to point to that directory. Still when I try to search I receive 0 results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Spring MVC: easiest way to see incoming requests

    - by flybywire
I am debugging a Spring MVC (3.0) app, deployed on tomcat. I want to see in my console or log files all the incoming requests. Including 404s, both generated by my app or by spring because it didn't find an appropriate controller. I'd like to see something like this: GET /index.html GET /img/logo.png GET /js/a.js GET /style/b.css POST /ajax/dothis?blah=yes POST /ajax/dothat?foo=np GET /nextpage.html ... What is the easiest way to see that.

  • IE dynamic image caching issue?

    - by rdevitt
I have an html page that is loading multiple iframes into which are embedded dynamic images created from a Tomcat server page (.jsp). This works as expected from Chrome and Firefox, but for some reason IE displays all of the images the same (as the first image). I've created an example: http://coupondiscounts.com/dev/jsImageTest.html jsImageTest.html -- This page simply loads 6 instances of the testImageFrame.html page in separate iframes one-at-a-time, using Javascript. testImageFrame.html -- This is the page loaded in all the iframes. It contains only a JavaScript block that writes out the current time and an img tag. The img is dynamically generated by a .jsp page on a different server. It should be a white box on a black background. In the box are the current time (from the Tomcat server using Java) and a randomly created double between 0 & 1. What happens (in IE): The page almost instantly loads four identical iframes. Depending on the speed of your machine, the JavaScript times may vary by a second or two. The images' times will all be the same as will be the random number. This holds true even for the last two iframes which are loaded 5 and 10 seconds after the others (using JavaScript setTimeout()). What should happen (as it does in Chrome and FF): The page loads the same 4 iframes, but the random numbers in the images will be different. The times in the images occasionally span a second as well. Anyone have a clue as to what's going on here? Is IE doing some strange caching? The image header has "no-cache," "no-store" and all that. I've tried it on IE6 and 7. You can use the "Next" button to create another iframe. In IE, the images are always the same. Notes: I don't really need iframes, just the images, but if I only use img tags, the problem appears in Chrome and FF as well. I also don't really need to load these iframes dynamically, I was just trying to abstract the issue further and allow a delayed load for the latter 2 images.

  • Absent Code attribute in method that is not native or abstract

    - by kerry
I got the following, quite puzzling error today when running a unit test: java.lang.ClassFormatError: Absent Code attribute in method that is not native or abstract in class file javax/servlet/http/Cookie A google search found this post, which explains that it is caused by having an interface in the classpath, and not an actual implementation. In this case it’s the java-ee interface. To fix this I added the jetty servlet api implementation to my pom: jetty javax.servlet test Piece of cake. I have run in to this before, so I figured I would capture the fix here in case I run in to it again.

  • What build tools do not depend on java (or Ruby)?

    - by Mohamed Meligy
I'm wondering what generic build tools out there include their binary run-times and do not depend on another environment not shipped with them. For example, ANT requires Java, Rake requires Ruby, etc.. would be great if talking about also target-platform-agnostic tools, where I'd just give whatever command for building, whatever command for testing, etc.. and can then define my artifacts in CI or so. Would see something like that useful for building .NET projects (say, on both Windows .NET and Mono), and Node JS projects especially. I do not want to install Java and / or Ruby if what I want is a .NET build or a Node JS build. This is a bit of general awareness question not an exact problem I'm facing, that's why it's here not on StackOverflow. Update: To explain a bit more, what I'm after is the build script that would run MSBuild for compiling for example ( in .NET, and then maybe several Node/NPM commands in Node, etc..), and then have the rest build/test steps, instead of setting these all in MSBuild (again, in .NET case, also, wondering if there is equivalent story in Node).

  • Best practices for versioning project after dependency upgrade

    - by shabunc
Say, my project have dependency N with version 1.0.0. Then something have changed, and I should depend on newer version - let it be 1.0.1. OK, I'm incrementing dependency version, nothing else changes in my code. It looks like I should increment my own projects' version, but how exactly I should increment? Should I increment only third number (so-called revision), or best practices here are more complicated. For example, may be, if we are changing projects' dependency minor value, we should do the same thing in the project itself?

  • Slimbox 2 Plugin, jQuery Flickr, and IE8

    - by Nick H.
Hello, I am currently developing a site that I make use of two jQuery plugins: Flickr jquery plugin (http://code.google.com/p/jquery-flickr/) Slimbox (http://code.google.com/p/slimbox/) The first plugin is used to pull in flickr photos from a specific account. These photos are displayed as thumbnails on the page. I am then using the second plugin to display larger views of these images. Because the flickr photos are fetched when the page loads, I am calling the Slimbox 2 function like this: $(document).ready(function() { $("#Flickr").flickr(); //Call Flickr plugin $(window).bind('load', function() { $("#Flickr a").slimbox();//Call Slimbox2 }); }); On first testing this seemed to have worked perfectly. I tested multiple versions of FireFox, IE7, IE6, and Safari. Everything is great. However, the Slimbox lightbox effest does not work in IE8. However, if I put IE8 into compatibility mode, everything works as expected. I would like to avoid forcing compatibility mode. There are no javascript errors and I am at a loss for testing. Here is a link to a sample: http://www.njhall.com/JRMcCourt-Builders/index.html#ourwork Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Nick

  • Uploadify plugin doesn't call Java Servlet

    - by sergionni
Hello,i just started using Uploadify flash plugin instead of standard HTML UI. And met the next problem: when I click "Upload Files" link, that progress is shown and "completed" status is appeared, but in reality - it didn't happened anything,Java Servlet isn't called from backend. There is upload servlet and uploading performed next way earlier: < form enctype="multipart/form-data" method="post" target="uploadFrame" action="<%= request.getContextPath() %>/uploadFile?portletId=${portletId}&remoteFolder=${remoteFolder}">... After providing Uploadify plugin, UI now looks like: plugin part(configuration): <script> ... oScript.text+= "$j('#uploadify').uploadify({"; oScript.text+= "'uploader' : 'kne-portlets/js/lib/uploadify/scripts/uploadify.swf',"; oScript.text+= "'script' : '<%= request.getContextPath() %>/uploadFile?portletId=${portletId}&remoteFolder=<%= decodedString %>',"; oScript.text+= "'cancelImg': 'kne-portlets/js/lib/uploadify/cancel.png',"; oScript.text+= "'folder' : '<%= decodedString %>',"; oScript.text+= "'queueID' : 'fileQueue',"; oScript.text+= "'auto' : false,"; oScript.text+= "'multi' : false,"; //oScript.text+= "'sizeLimit' : 1000"; oScript.text+= "});"; oScript.text+= "});"; ... </script> 'scripts' parameter here points to Java Servlet on backend <%= decodedString %> is folder path, which value is \\file-srv\demo part for uploading: <input type="file" name="uploadify" id="uploadify" /> <a href="javascript:$j('#uploadify').uploadifyUpload();">Upload Files</a> Where is my fault? 'Script' param in plugin config points to Java Servlet on backend and it's done, but Servlet isn't triggered. error, when 'script' param isn't correct:http://img190.imageshack.us/i/errormm.png/ Thank you for assistance.
