• CSS positioning breaks in Safari

  Hi all, i have a website in which i am trying to position (using CSS) a certain on the page. the is absolutely positioned and is located inside a relatively positioned paernt . on firefox and even IE it looks ok but on Safari, things get messy and it shows 5 pixels lower than it should. i have tried to figure out for days now what is wrong there but cannot seem to see it. you can find an example link to the problematic page here: http://yaronattar.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=117:the-new-lovers-2010&catid=51:the-new-lovers-2010&Itemid=242 the problematic is the one conaining the "previous/next" navigation at the bottom right corner of the page. anyone sees what is causing the trouble here? thanks

• iPad UISplitView initial state in portrait: how to display popover controller widget?

  Hi, I'm working on an iPad app that uses a UISplitView. Inspired by http://blog.blackwhale.at/2010/04/your-first-ipad-split-view-application/, I display a button in my detail view when in portrait mode that shows the popover controller. This works great. However, the appropriate UISplitViewControllerDelegate message is only sent when the device rotates. So, when the app first loads (in portrait mode), my navigation button is not visible. Is it possible to somehow convince the UISplitViewController to send that message on load or something, or do I need to re-implement my own popover logic to get things working? Thanks, -Patrick

• Orientation in a UIView added to a UIWindow

  OK, bear with me. I have a UIView which is supposed to cover the whole device (UIWindow) to support an image zoom in/out effect I'm doing using core animation where a user taps a button on a UITableViewCell and I zoom the associated image. The zooming is performing flawlessly, what I haven't been able to figure out is why the subview is still in portrait mode even though the device is in landscape.   Hello, assume I have a such html order <div id="header">>Header(logo, navigation menus etc)will be here, fixed height </div> <div id="content"> Dynamic content with different length will be here. </div> <div id="footer"> Footer of the page here, fixed height </div> Now as you can see, it is only the content div which will be changing in size as the length changes. I want to make sure the screen is used even if the height of the content is less than to fill the whole. (in other words minimum height of the content will be screen (height in pixel) - ( (height of header) + (height of footer) ) Now I can see that min-widht can be used but it is not supported with IE, how can I achieve this issue ?

• Pass data to Master Page with ASP.NET MVC

  I have a hybrid ASP.NET WebForms/MVC project. In my Master Page, I have a "menu" User Control and a "footer" User Control. Anyways. I need to pass some data (2 strings) to my "menu" User Control on my Master Page (to select the current tab in my menu navigation, etc.) My views are strongly-typed to my data model. How can I push data from my controller to my menu or at least allow my master page to access some data pre-defined in my controller? Note: I understand this violates pure ASP.NET MVC, but like I said, it is a hybrid project. The main purpose of my introduction to ASP.NET MVC into my project was to have more control over my UI for certain situations only.

• UINavigationController back button half works in iPad landscape orientation

  In an iPad application with a UINavigationController, everything works in portrait mode but in landscape mode the back button sometimes only goes back half a level. That is to say, on the first press the title bar animates as if it was popping a controller, and on the second press it animates the content popping. Has anyone found a solution to this? The contradictory solution in this question did not help. • No scrolling occurs when UITableView scrollToRowAtIndexPath is invoked

  My view contains a simple TableView with 6 rows and a button that invokes doScroll when clicked. My objective for doScroll() is simply scroll to the 5th cell such that it's at top of the table view. - (void)doScroll: (id)sender { NSIndexPath *index = [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:4 inSection: 1]; [m_tableView scrollToRowAtIndexPath:index atScrollPosition:UITableViewScrollPositionTop animated:YES]; } However when doScroll is invoked, the tableview scrolls only slightly. I suspect this has something to do with the size of the scroll view. So I tried increasing the height of m_tableview.contentsize before scrolling. After I do this however, no scrolling occurs at all... The view controller is a simple UIViewController and refers to the table view via IBOutlet. For some reason, scrolling works as expected for the default Navigation Based Application, where the controller is a UITableViewController

I used 2 ajax calls to get the data from actor.php and director.php. It works fine on my local machine, but only the first one works on server. • YUI Menu rendering below "fold" on first open

  I have a YUI menu on the bottom navigation of the screen which creates a large white space beneath it where the action list would be rendered if visible... On the first click the menu will render in that white space which requires the user to scroll to see it... on the second click however it will draw upward (ideally) so that the user does not have to scroll to see the menu... the second click also kills that block of white space... i found adding a style of display:none to the div kills the white space... but then YUI doesn't set the display to block, which from what I understood it should... so I wrote another method that would do that manually... but the same behavior happens, the menu first renders below the fold requiring the user to scroll.... 2nd time its works fine... some reason the top/left positions are not being calculated properly on the first click and i cannot seem to figure out why

• Easy GWT Animations

  I've started looking at some external GWT libraries for animations, but they all seemd a bit overkill for what i want. I'm trying to mimic JQuery Tools scrollabel plugin in GWT for a scrolling navigation (think iphone). User clicks an item, page scrolls to the child panel of that item, which may also have children that can be clicked. All I need to do is slide a div, x number of pixels backwards and forwards over some fixed rate of time The only real tutorial i've found on writing animations in GWT is 2 years old and seems a bit verbose, (managing individual frames etc...) Is there no simpler solution for easily moving a div from one position to another without requiring all the extra cruft? Forgive me but I'm coming from jQuery coding that has this built in simply and easily.

• Eclipse’s Ctrl+click does not work and indexer does not seem to update?

  I am running Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers (Ganymede) and I have recently encountered a problem with it. I can no longer get Ctrl+click navigation to work! I went to my project and tried to rebuild the index, but the rebuild command of the indexer does not work either. I did not do anything to my knowledge that may have caused this bug and so I was wondering if it could be a corrupt index or something else weird like that. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  I have an .xib file connected to a ViewController, which is init'ed as the root controller of an instance of UINavigationController in my appDelegate. In that view, I have a UISearchBar and a UITableView below it. When the view loads up, there's a navigationBar at the top, followed by a ~20 pixel gap, and then the UISearchBar, and the table beneath it: My problem is that when I enter the UISearchBar to type something, the navigation bar disappears (which is fine), but the search box is all screwy: I'm pretty new to this (a couple of weeks), so I'm not quite sure what's going on. Can anyone help me shed some light on this?

• How can I stop the flickering in Scriptaculous?

  I'm running this script on a page which shows a box with more information when you roll over it. site for review The script works fine, except theres a flicker of the box before it actually scales. What is causing this? I use the same thing in the main navigation with the same flicking. • How can I push a new view controller onto a different nav controllers stack and switch to it?

  I have a Tab Bar Controller created in Interface Builder Within the Tab Bar are 4 Navigation Controllers. Each controller functions separately and perfectly (yay!) What I need to be able to do is a push a view controller onto a different nav controllers stack and switch the focus onto the appropriate tab bar item (so that the user moves sideways (to a different tab) and up (to a new view) at the same time). This is my first time working with a tab bar controller, and while it's been simple to this point, figuring this out is giving me fits. Any tips you can toss my way would be much appreciated.

  I'm hearing this alot, that you can develop an app in WPF and run it as a desktop app or in a browser. Is this really true? I've install visual studio 2010 and I see 2 project templates : WPF Windows Application and WPF Browser Application (XBAP). Currently reading a book on WPF, it talks about Page-Base app, which can be use for navigation. To creatre an app to run on your browser you have to use the WPF Browser Application. So if I start with WPF Windows Application template can I run it in a browser ? I am assuming not since most of my class will be Window and not Page ....

• switch views using a button, going to a table view, iphone

  My program has 4 buttons and each button calls a different table view. That works fine, but my problem is, the view controller I'm using brings up a table view that covers up my navigation bar and my tab bar. I need to replace that coding with something that will bring up a table and not cover up my nav and tab bars. • Posting a form and redirecting to action ASP.NET MVC

  I have a navigation bar that uses JQuery to move between 4 stages of signup process. However I need to make sure everything is working with JS disabled. So I have these 4 link images at the bottom of the page and I need so that if one is clicked it posts to the current action so I can save all the form data and then redirect to the next stage. The redirect is easy enough as I will just pass a parameter in the route or form but I don't know how to post the method using just action links. I could put 4 different submit buttons with different classes for the image backgrounds etc but this feels wrong. Any ideas?

I am using webservice to create Order in Oracle database and websvc will give a response (OrderNumber) and I will inform customer that his Order (OrderNumber) is generated My problem The creation of order is taking too much time in backend system and user is keeping refreshing the page, On each refresh user is coming back to Order create Page, so user is able to click on create Order button again In such cases multiple orders are creating for same orderlines.I can restrict user to create only one order per session in case I got order number in websvc response and I can give ordernumber to customer in next page But real problem come when I didn't get response(Ordernumber) and user is refreshing page. request is already went to Backend system and it will create order and my applicaion will not get response Is there any method in PHP where we can asyncronously check the status of order if first request is initiated by user and it doesn't matter the furthur page navigation Please help me out.. • Silverlight tests not working unless RDP connection open

  I have a few Silverlight UI tests that I'm automating with White. These tests are subsequently run by a TFS build agent, which is running interactively so it can access the desktop. The build passes if I have a Remote Desktop connection open to the build agent as the tests are run; I can see the mouse pointer moving around. When the test clicks on a HyperlinkButton navigation takes place, and is subsequently verified by assertions within the test. The build fails if I do not have a Remote Desktop connection open to the build agent as the tests are run. The Internet Explorer window is created and the Silverlight app loads, but no clicks happen; the application remains on the initial page and test assertions subsequently fail. Has anyone out there found a solution to this problem?

• [[UIDevice currentDevice] orientation] always null

  As per the title. Calling [[UIDevice currentDevice] BeginGeneratingDeviceOrientationNotifications] has no effect. DidRotateToInterfaceOrientation etc events are working fine, but I need to be able to poll the device orientation arbitrarily. How can I fix/do this? The long story: I have a tab application with a navigation controller on each tab. The root view of tab number one is a graph that goes full screen when the orientation changes to landscape; however this needs to be checked whenever the view appears as the orientation change could have occurred elsewhere, so I was hoping to poll the orientation state whenever this view appears.
