  • Integrating Pentaho/Talend/etc. with an OR Mapper

    We have an application (Java) with an own OR mapper. Within this system we have what can be compared to Hibernate's interceptors (we call it triggers): Do specific actions just before saving data in the database, after it's deleted and so on. The underlying database is MySQL. Now we would like to use tools such as Pentaho Data Integration or Talend to convert data to put it into our system. It's no problem to do that directly on the SQL level, but by doing so we loose the built-in power of our triggers. Is there a way to somehow integrate any of the Data Integration solutions into our existing application? It would be great if there was a way to write into instances of our classes instead of writing into the database directly. Any hints welcome :-)

  • Asp.net web forms, Asp Identity - how to store claims from Facebook, Twitter, etc

    This request is based upon the new Visual Studio 2013 integration of Asp.net Identity stuff. I have seen some of the posts regarding this question for MVC, but for the life of me cannot get it to work for standard Web Forms. What I'm trying to do is populate the AspNetUserClaims table from the claims that I get back from Facebook (or other service). I actually can see the values coming back in the OnAuthenticated below, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to add these claims to the context of the currently logged in user? There are literally hundreds of MVC examples surrounding this, but alas no Web Forms examples. This should be completely straightforward, but for some reason I cannot match up the context of the currently logged in user to the claims and credentials coming back from Facebook. Currently after the OnAuthenticated fires, it obviously returns me to the page (RegisterExternalLogin.aspx) as the built-in example provides. However, the claims are gone, the context of the login to Facebook is gone, and I can't do anything else at this point.   • C# style Action<T>, Func<T,T>, etc in C++0x

    C# has generic function types such as Action<T> or Func<T,U,V,...> With the advent of C++0x and the ability to have template typedef's and variadic template parameters, it seems this should be possible. The obvious solution to me would be this: template <typename T> using Action<T> = void (*)(T); however, this does not accommodate for functors or C++0x lambdas, and beyond that, does not compile with the error "expected unqualified-id before 'using'" My next attempt was to perhaps use boost::function: template <typename T> using Action<T> = boost::function<void (T)>; This doesn't compile either, for the same reason. My only other idea would be STL style template arguments: template <typename T, typename Action> void foo(T value, Action f) { f(value); } But this doesn't provide a strongly typed solution, and is only relevant inside the templated function. Now, I will be the first to admit that I am not the C++ wiz I prefer to think I am, so it's very possible there is an obvious solution I'm not seeing. Is it possible to have C# style generic function types in C++?

    I have a bunch of Workflow foundation 4.0 RC code activities that consume web services and talk to databases that I want to add some error handling in. I would really like to be able to attempt to call my web service / db, catch any faults such as a communication failure and then retry the same operation in 1 hours time (after I have logged the exception).   • JSON to Persistent Data Store (CoreData, etc.)

    All of the data on my application is pulled through an API via JSON. The nature of a good percentage of this data is that it doesn't change very often. So to go and make JSON requests to get a list of data that doesn't change much didn't seem all that appealing. I'm looking for the most sensible option to have this JSON saved onto the iPhone in some sort of persistent data store. Obviously one plus of persisting the data would be to provide it when the phone can't access the API. I've looked at a few examples of having JSON and CoreData interact, for example, but it seems that they only describe transforming NSManagedObjects into JSON. If I can transform JSON into CoreData, my only problem would be being able to change that data when the data from the API does change. (Or, maybe this is all just silly.)

The user could then click a few buttons and his contacts would be automagically uploaded from X. A company called Plaxo has a widget that does exactly what I am looking for, BUT: They only support a limited number of data sources (I am most interested in ACT, Salesforce, Outlook, and QuickBooks), and They only support e-mail addresses.     How to convert an large image and embed it into postscript? I used to convert the bitmap into HEX codes and render with colorimage. It works for small icons but I hit a /limitcheck error in ghostscript when I try to embed little larger images. It seem there is a memory limit for bitmap in ghostscript. I am looking a solution which can run without 3rd party/pre-processing other then ghostscript itself.

  • Making a query result equal to zero when a condition is null

    Hello, I believe the query below should work. However, when I run it, the results are blank. I think this is happening since for now, the table "comment" is empty. So there is no instance where s.submissionid = c.submissionid. I would like to have the query below to work even if there if no s.submissionid that equals a c.submissionid. In this case, I would like countComments to equal zero. How can I do this?   • Foreach loop returning null values in PHP?

    Hello, I have a pretty simple problem. Basically I have an array called $list that is a list of titles. If I do a print_r($list) I get these results: Array ( [0] => Another New Title [1] => Awesome Movies and stuff [2] => Jascha's Title ) Now, I'm running a foreach loop to retrieve their values and format them in an <ul> like so... function get_film_list(){ global $categories; $list = $categories->get_film_list(); if(count($list)==0){ echo 'No films are in this category'; }else{ echo '<ul>'; foreach($list as $title){ echo '<li>' . $title . '<li>'; } echo '</ul>'; } } The problem I'm having is my loop is returning two values per value (is it the key value?)     Linux's stddef.h defines offsetof() as: #define offsetof(TYPE, MEMBER) ((size_t) &((TYPE *)0)->MEMBER) whereas the Wikipedia article on offsetof() (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offsetof) defines it as: #define offsetof(st, m) \ ((size_t) ( (char *)&((st *)(0))->m - (char *)0 )) Why subtract (char *)0 in the Wikipedia version? Is there any case where that would actually make a difference?

    Hello All, I have just started trying to make a simple game with XNA 3.1 to help myself learn C# and XNA. I have run into a bit of an interesting problem, however. In all of the tutorials, one is supposed to pass GraphicsDevice when instantiating a new spriteBatch object like this: spriteBatch = new SpriteBatch(GraphicsDevice); One might even do this: GraphicsDevice objGraphics = new graphics.GraphicsDevice; spriteBatch = new SpriteBatch(objGraphics); where graphics is the GraphicsDeviceManager. However, no matter which version I try, I always get an ArgumentNullException when I try to pass the GraphicsDevice object to spriteBatch's constructor. Almost every tutorial I have found gives the first one and only one mentioned the second option. Has anyone else run into a similar error or know what could be causing this? I am working in Windows 7 x64 with Visual Studio 2008.

  • How to completely wipe rubygems along with rails etc

    Ok, so I decided I'd be cool and try to use Rails3 that's in beta. Then, things were getting hard to manage so I got rvm. I installed ruby 1.9.2-head in rvm and things were working, and then a computer restart later rails wouldn't start up. So I figured I'd just try running the system ruby and start rails in it. same error. Then, I uninstalled rails3 and got rails: no such file or directory type errors.. So now I'm royally screwed because rails2 is still installed but will not uninstall because of invisible dependencies, along with a lot of other random gems. How do I completely clear out all ruby gems and such so I can start anew?

  • Free Memory Occupied by Std List, Vector, Map etc

    Coming from a C# background, I have only vaguest idea on memory management on C++-- all I know is that I would have to free the memory manually. As a result my C++ code is written in such a way that objects of the type std::vector, std::list, std::map are freely instantiated, used, but not freed. I didn't realize this point until I am almost done with my programs, now my code is consisted of the following kinds of patterns: struct Point_2 { double x; double y; }; struct Point_3 { double x; double y; double z; }; list<list<Point_2>> Computation::ComputationJob(list<Point_3> pts3D, vector<Point_2> vectors) { map<Point_2, double> pt2DMap=ConstructPointMap(pts3D); vector<Point_2> vectorList = ConstructVectors(vectors); list<list<Point_2>> faceList2D=ConstructPoints(vectorList , pt2DMap); return faceList2D; } My question is, must I free every.single.one of the list usage ( in the above example, this means that I would have to free pt2DMap, vectorList and faceList2D)? That would be very tedious! I might just as well rewrite my Computation class so that it is less prone to memory leak. Any idea how to fix this?
