Question: What command do you type in to the "Run Application" box on ubuntu to open the terminal?
Info:
I'm having horrible horrible driver issues on my netbook. I might be able to solve some of these problems if I could just get to Terminal, but all I have is my keyboard, no mouse, so i need to know what command to type in to run application (Which I can get to with alt-f2) to open terminal.
Thanks,
~N
Hi,
I am looking for an Open Source & Free Browser based Adhoc / End User Reporting Tool preferably based on Java (any other technologies are also welcome).
I have researched on JasperServer Pro, BIRT & Pentaho. Even though these are open source & free, the end user/adhoc reporting components needs to be paid annual license fees which is not quite affordable for us. So please tell you suggestions
Thanks In Advance.

Hi,
I have my 'shake' working fine (using motionEnded), based off of Apple's GLPaint code. When the user shakes the device (running 3.0 and up) I want to open a view controller modally using presentModalViewController.
In my appdelegate I have the notification (as per the GLPaint sample code):
[[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(shakeToOpenHiddenScreen) name:@"shake" object:nil];
In my shakeToOpenHiddenScreen I just want to open view 'x' modally but I don't think that my appdelegate will respond to presentModalViewController.
Is there a way around this?

Hello,
I've lost my Reporting Services project file for Business Intelligence Development Studio. How can I open the existing reports in a new project? Can I "open" the whole project like in SSAS? I want to get the datasets and data sources into the project again as well.
Hello,
I have two quick questions:
When do two file descriptors point to the same open file ?
When do two open files point to the same inode ?
Also, if you happen to have some good documentation with graphs explaining this, i'll be very grateful if you show me the link to it :)
Thanks!
I am aware of J & K; but neither are open source.
I'm also aware of A+, but that seems outdated.
Is there any decent open source implementation of APL?
If so, where; is not, why?
Thanks!

I am currently working on an application for managing a WPD device.
I want to add an option to open the wpd device in windows explorer to view the saved files.
Problem is that I can't find a way to open explorer pointing to the device's "folder".
I have all information of the device (pnp device id, class name, etc.)
Anybody knows a solution?
Thanks in advance!

I have a lot of Perl scripts that looks something like the following. What it does is that it will automatically open any file given as a command line argument and in this case print the content of that file. If no file is given it will instead read from standard input.
while ( <> ) {
print $_;
}
Is there a way to do something similar in Python without having to explicitly open each file?

How to set a sorting mode in Open Dialog (TOpenDialog class in Delphi) programmatically in application so that the dialog opens with a preferred sorting?

Is there an easy way of programmatically checking if a serial COM port is already open/being used?
Normally I would use:
try
{
// open port
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
// handle the exception
}
However, I would like to programatically check so I can attempt to use another COM port or some such.
When debugging an executable in XCode, I very often have to open up a terminal window, navigate to the executable's working directory and do some work there. Is there any way to have XCode automatically open a terminal window at this location each time I debug my program?
I want to open files, which are doubleclicked in Explorer, in the same instance of my .Net application, e.g. in a new tab. How can I do this?
For now each file starts new instance of my application. Many programs can open files in the same instance, for example, Opera and Notepad++, so there is an easy way for sure.

Has anyone written a YQL open data table for accessing Wikipedia? I've had a hunt around the internet and found mention of people using YQL for extracting various bits of information from Wikipedia pages such as microformats, links or content but I haven't been able to find an open data table that ties it all together.
This can be a handy functionality to have in a program that works with files/folders. It's easy enough to actually open the containing folder using:
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start( *path to folder* );
...but how do I go about actually selecting the target file within that parent folder? If I use the Process.Start method it actually attempts to open the file.
Using CDaoDatabase defined in afxdao.h, how can I open up Excel 2007 (xlsx) files? I can open up Excel 2003 (xls) files using the connection string Excel 8.0;HDR=NO;IMEX=1, anybody know how I can do this?
Thanks!
