  Hi All, I have the following strings in my application. /admin/stylesheets/11 /admin/javascripts/11 /contactus what I want to do is to write a regular expression to capture anything other than string starting with 'admin' basically my regex should capture only /contactus by excluding both /admin/stylesheets/11 /admin/javascripts/11 to capture all i wrote /.+/ and i wrote /(admin).+/ which captures everything starts with 'admin'. how can i do the reverse. I mean get everything not starting with 'admin' thanks in advance cheers sameera

  At the last PDC (can't remember which talk it was) they gave us the information that it will be possible to share assemblies between regular .Net 4 and Silverlight 4. Unfortunately I can't find anything on this. Was this feature dropped? What options/limitations are there? (There are similar questions on SO but they don't say if they apply to SL3 or 4.)

  hi how do i return after the first match of regular expression? (does the Matcher.find() method do that? ) say I have a string "abcdefgeee". I want to ask the regex engine stop finding immediately after it finds the first match of "e" for example. I am writing a method to return true/false if the pattern is found and i don't want to find the whole string for "e". (I am looking for a regex solution ) thanks

The running program originates as a root-owned Python process, which then setuids/setgids itself as a regular user.   I have a NetBeans project and the Mercurial repository is in the project root. I would like it to ignore everything except the contents of the "src" and "test" folders, and .hgignore itself. I'm not familiar with regular expressions and can't come up with one that will do that. The ones I tried: (?!src/.*) (?!test/.*) (?!^.hgignore) (?!src/.|test/.|.hgignore) These seem to ignore everything, I can't figure out why. Any advice would be great.

  I want a regular expression to validate a nickname: 6 to 36 characters, it should contain at least one letter. Other allowed characters: 0-9 and underscores. • Cleaning an XML file in Python before parsing

  I'm using minidom to parse an xml file and it threw an error indicating that the data is not well formed. I figured out that some of the pages have characters like ไอเฟล &, causing the parser to hiccup. Is there an easy way to clean the file before I start parsing it? Right now I'm using a regular expressing to throw away anything that isn't an alpha numeric character and the </> characters, but it isn't quite working.

  I am new to programming PHP and am trying to validate a field in a form. The field if for a RAL color code and so would look something like : RAL 1001. so the letters RAL and then 4 numbers.
