• Regular Expression - Capture and Replace Select Sequences

  Take the following file... ABCD,1234,http://example.com/mpe.exthttp://example/xyz.ext EFGH,5678,http://example.com/wer.exthttp://example/ljn.ext Note that "ext" is a constant file extension throughout the file. I am looking for an expression to turn that file into something like this... ABCD,1234,http://example.com/mpe.ext ABCD,1234,http://example/xyz.ext EFGH,5678,http://example.com/wer.ext EFGH,5678,http://example/ljn.ext In a nutshell I need to capture everything up to the urls. Then I need to capture each URL and put them on their own line with the leading capture. I am working with sed to do this and I cannot figure out how to make it work correctly. Any ideas?

• string substitution regular expression not working in tcl

  i am trying to replace all the special characters including white space, hyphen, etc, to underscore, from a string variable in tcl. I wrote the code below but it doesn't seem to be working. set varname $origVar puts "Variable Name :>> $varname" if {$varname != ""} { regsub -all {[\s-\]\[$^?+*()|\\%&#]} $varname "_" $newVar } puts "New Variable :>> $newVar" one issue is that, instead of replacing the string in $varname, it is replacing the data inside $origVar. No idea why, and also i read the example code (for proper syntax) in my tcl book and according to that it should be something like this regsub -all {[\s-][$^?+*()|\\%&#]} $varname "_" newVar so i used the same syntax but it didn't work and gave the same result as modifying the $origVar instead of required $varname value.

What else I should turn off in order to downgrade combobox to select or shpuld I consider to use other component instead ?

  So I am trying to read an XML file into a string in Perl and send it as part of a SOAP message. I know this is not ideal as there are methods for SOAP sending files, however, I am limited to having to use the SOAP that is set up, and it is not set up for sending with file support. Therefore I need to parse out the markup tags < and replace them with []. What is the best way to do this?

  I'm currently using this regex ^[A-Z0-9 _]*$ to accept letters, numbers, spaces and underscores. I need to modify it to require at least one number or letter somewhere in the string. Any help would be appreciated! This would be for validating usernames for my website. I'd actually like to support as many characters as I can, but just want to ensure that I prevent code injection and that characters will display fine for all users. So I'm definately open to regex validation suggestions that would support a wider set of characters.

  I want to match both the src and title attributes of an image tag: pattern: <img [^>]*src=["|\']([^"|\']+["|\'])|title=["|\']([^"|\']+) target: <img src="http://someurl.jpg" class="quiz_caption" title="Caption goes here!"> This pattern gives me one unwanted match, title="content", and the match I actually want which is the value between the quotes after the word 'title', i.e 'content'. So, my matches are: <img src="http://someurl.jpg http://someurl.jpg title="Caption goes here!" Caption goes here! Is there a way to avoid the third of these matches? I'm using PCRE in PHP 5.2.x

Currently I am using the simpleanalyzer, as it seems to handle the broadest amount of languages. Most of the documents to be indexed will be english, but there will be the occasional double-byte language indexed as well. But if I want to have a string like "/name-or-address:value/name-or-address:value" which has this '-' in second part, it doesn't work. I am using \w to match A-Za-z_, but how can I include - in that?

  I would like to create a RegEx to match only english alphanumeric characters but ignore (or discard) isolated numbers in Ruby (and if possible in JS too). In what programming language this is possible ? def lab(input) input = ['90'] end x = ['80'] lab(x) puts x #=> value of x has changed from ['80'] to ['90] I have written this in ruby but in ruby I get the final x value of 80 because ruby is pass-by-reference. However what is passed is the reference to the data held by x and not pointer to x itself same is true in JavaScript.   I'm looking for a embedded language that can be used to script common code between a server app written in C# and a client app written in Flash/Actionscript. It is important that the embedded language interpreter run natively in the environment it is embedded into. For example, it cannot load any external C libraries (i.e. python, neko). Does such a thing exist for these two languages? Perhaps there is some minimal interpreter that could be easily ported to both? Thanks!
