  • jQuery .animate() not animating backgroundPosition in IE

    - by mikemike
    I'm trying to animate a background image to move down a set amount of pixels but remain in the center of the page. Upon another click of an element I need it to move back to the top, but still remain in the center. Below is the current code: $(document).ready(function() { $('#email_campaigns').click(function(){ var width = $(window).width(); width = (width / 2) - 700; if($('#email_campaigns_box').css('display') == 'none'){ //$('body').css('background-position','center 119px'); $('body').animate({ backgroundPosition: (width + "px 119px") }, {duration:500}); } else { //$('body').css('background-position','center top'); $('body').animate({ backgroundPosition: (width + "px 0px") }, {duration:500}); } $('#email_campaigns_box').slideToggle("slow"); $('#client_login_box').slideUp("slow"); }); $('#client_login').click(function(){ var width = $(window).width(); width = (width / 2) - 700; alert(width); if($('#client_login_box').css('display') == 'none'){ //$('body').css('background-position','center 119px'); $('body').animate({ backgroundPosition: (width + "px 119px") }, {duration:500}); } else { //$('body').css('background-position','center top'); $('body').animate({ backgroundPosition: (width + "px 0px") }, {duration:500}); } $('#client_login_box').slideToggle("slow"); $('#email_campaigns_box').slideUp("slow"); }); }); I cannot pass 'center', as it will onyl accept numeric values. My goal is to calulate the center of the page in pixels (width = (width / 2) - 700;), and then animate to this rough position (it's normally out by a few pixels due to scrollbars, and then force to the center using a .css() call. The problem is that IE does not want to play ball. IE will not animate at all. Firefox/Safari/Chrome all work as expected. Below is a live example: http://recklessnewmedia.com/new/# (click 'email campaigns' at the top). Thanks

  • Firefox radial gradient issue

    Trying to set radial gradient to the bg. The problem is, all other browsers shows gradient, on Firefox doesn't. What's wrong? • IPhone SDK help with minigame

    - by Harry
    right basically what ive got is an app which is a ball and bat and its how many bounces you can achieve, it works alright but there is one problem, when the ball hits the side of the bat it throws it off course and its like the frame of the ball is bouncing in the frame of the bat, Here is my code in my mainview.m #import "MainView.h" #define kGameStateRunning 1 @implementation MainView @synthesize paddle, ball; - (void)touchesMoved:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [[event allTouches] anyObject]; CGPoint location = [touch locationInView:touch.view]; CGPoint xLocation = CGPointMake(location.x,paddle.center.y); paddle.center = xLocation; } -(IBAction) play { pos = CGPointMake(14.0,7.0); [NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:0.05 target:self selector:@selector(onTimer) userInfo:nil repeats:YES]; } -(void) onTimer { ball.center = CGPointMake(ball.center.x+pos.x,ball.center.y+pos.y); if(ball.center.x > 320 || ball.center.x < 0) pos.x = -pos.x; if(ball.center.y > 460 || ball.center.y < 0) pos.y = -pos.y; [self checkCollision]; } -(void) checkCollision { if(CGRectIntersectsRect(ball.frame,paddle.frame)) { pos.y = -pos.y; } } @end can anyone work out the problem here? Thanks Harry

  • View results of affine transform

    - by stckjp
    I am trying to find out the reason why when I apply affine transformations on an image in OpenCV, the result of it is not visible in the preview window, but the entire window is black.How can I find workaround for this problem so that I can always view my transformed image (the result of the affine transform) in the window no matter the applied transformation? Update: I think that this happens because all the transformations are calculated with respect to the origin of the coordinate system (top left corner of the image). While for rotation I can specify the center of the rotation, and I am able to view the result, when I perform scaling I am not able to control where the transformed image goes. Is it possible to somehow move the coordinate system to make the image fit in the window? Update2: I have an image which contains only ROI at some position in it (the rest of the image is black), and I need to apply a set of affine transforms on it. To make things simpler and to see the effect of each individual transform, I applied each transform one by one. What I noticed is that, whenever I move (translate) the image such that the center of the ROI is in the center of the coordinate system (top left corner of the view window), all the affine transforms perform correctly without moving. However, by translating the center of ROI at the center of the coordinate system, the upper and the left part of the ROI remain cut out of the current view window. If I move ROI's central point to another point in the view window (for example the window center), an affine transform of type: A=[a 0 0; 0 b 0] (A is 2x3 matrix, parameter of the warpAffine function) moves the image (ROI), outside of the view window (which doesn't happen if the ROI's center is in the top-left corner). How can I modify the affine transform so the image doesn't move out of its place (behaves the same way as when the ROI center is in the center of the coordinate system)?

  • Why does my Google maps api v3 and side panel not fill my page upon resizing?

    - by Gavin
    I'm developing a web page and I have a side panel on the left with a search bar and a Google maps api v3 filling the rest of the page to the right. When I make the browser very small vertically, there is a white space between the side panel and the map, and the bottom of the browser. However, the text continues to the bottom of the browser. It looks like: Here's my css code: <style type="text/css"> body {margin:0;} #panel {height:100%; width:300px; position:absolute; padding:0;background-color:#8C95A0;} #header {padding:2px; text-align:center} #address_instruction {position:relative; top:7%; padding:2px; text-align:center} #geocoder {position:relative; top:8%; padding:2px; text-align:center} #toggle_instruction {position:relative; top:22%; padding:2px; text-align:center} #layers {position:relative; top:25%; padding:2px; text-align:center} #layer0 {padding:2px; text-align:center} #layer1 {padding:2px; text-align:center} #layer2 {padding:2px; text-align:center} #link {top:50%; position:relative; padding:2px; text-align:center} #map_canvas {height:100%; left:300px; right:0px; position:absolute; padding:0;} </style> The IDs within #panel refer to the items on the left hand side in the panel. Why don't the side panel background color and map extend to the bottom of the browser?

  • Visual Studio Async CTP

    - by Daniel Moth
    While most of the buzz at the recent PDC here at Microsoft's headquarters has been about Windows Azure and Windows Phone, there is a truly noteworthy technology that as a .NET developer (of any kind of application) you should pay attention to, even in its early technology preview stage: Visual Studio Async CTP. I could provide many more direct links, but you do not need them: just visit the home page of this technology to download whitepapers, watch videos on how this technology integrates with C# and with VB, (through the new async and await language keywords) as well as videos on how the technology works under the covers (based largely on the Task Parallel Library). More importantly, download the actual bits (they install on top of your Visual Studio 2010), which include many samples. Get ready for a revolution in Asynchronous Programming with C# and Visual Basic. Comments about this post welcome at the original blog.

  • Why html frame behave differently in Firefox and IE8 ?

    - by Frank
    I use html frame on my webiste, it's been running for I while, usually I only use Firefox to surf the net, my site looks and functions ok, but today I suddenly found IE8 has a problem with the frame on my site, if I click on the top menu items, it's supposed to display the content in the lower part of the frame, it does this correctly in Firefox, but in IE8, it displays the content in the upper part of the frame and replaces the menu items. In order to give more details, I'll include a simplified version of my html pages, at the top level there are two items, an index.html page and a file directory, all the pages except the index.html are in the directory, so it looks like this : index.html Dir_Docs 00_Home.html 00_Install_Java.html 00_Top_Menu.html 01_Home_Menu.html 01_Install_Java_Menu.html 10_Home_Welcome.html 10_How_To_Install_Java.html [ index.html ] <Html> <Head><Title>Java Applications : Tv_Panel, Java_Sound, Biz Manager and Web Academy</Title></Head> <Frameset Rows="36,*" Border=5 Bordercolor=#006B9F> <Frame Src=Dir_Docs/00_Top_Menu.html Frameborder=YES Scrolling=no Marginheight=1 Marginwidth=1> <Frame Src=Dir_Docs/00_Home.html Name=lower_frame Marginheight=1 Marginwidth=1> </Frameset> </Html> [ 00_Home.html ] <Html> <Head><Title>NMJava Application Development</Title></Head> <Frameset Cols="217,*" Align=center BorderColor="#006B9F"> <Frame Src=01_Home_Menu.html Frameborder=YES Name=side_menu Marginheight=1 Marginwidth=1> <Frame Src=10_Home_Welcome.html Name=content Marginheight=1 Marginwidth=1> </Frameset> </Html> [ 00_Install_Java.html ] <Html> <Head> <Title>Install Java</Title> </Head> <Frameset Cols="217,*" Align=center BorderColor="#006B9F"> <Frame Src=01_Install_Java_Menu.html Frameborder=YES Name=side_menu Marginheight=1 Marginwidth=1> <Frame Src=10_How_To_Install_Java.html Name=content Marginheight=1 Marginwidth=1> </Frameset> </Html> [ 00_Top_Menu.html ] <Html> <Head>Top Menu</Head> <Body> <Center> <Base target=lower_frame> <Table Border=1 Cellpadding=3 Width=100%> <Tr> <Td Align=Center Bgcolor=#3366FF><A Href=00_Home.html><Font Size=4 Color=White>Home</Font></A></Td> <Td Align=Center Bgcolor=#3366FF><A Href=00_Install_Java.html><Font Size=4 Color=White>Install Java</Font></A></Td> </Tr> </Table> </Center> </Body> </Html> [ 01_Home_Menu.html ] <Html> <Head><Title>Home Menu</Title></Head> <Base Target=content> <Body Bgcolor=#7799DD> <Center> <Table Border=1 Width=100%> <Tr><Td Align=center Bgcolor=#66AAFF><A Href=10_Home_Welcome.html>Welcome</A></Td></Tr> </Table> </Center> </Body> </Html> [ 01_Install_Java_Menu.html ] <Html> <Head><Title>Install Java</Title></Head> <Base Target=content> <Body Bgcolor=#7799DD> <Center> <Table Border=1 Width=100%> <Tr><Td Align=Center Bgcolor=#66AAFF><A Href=10_How_To_Install_Java.html>How To Install Java ?</A></Td></Tr> </Table> </Center> </Body> </Html> [ 10_Home_Welcome.html ] <Html> <Head><Title>NMJava For Software Development</Title></Head> <Body> <Center> <P> <Font Size=5 Color=blue>Welcome To NMJava For Software Development</Font> <P> </Center> </Body> </Html> [ 10_How_To_Install_Java.html ] <Html> <Head> <Title>Install Java</Title> </Head> <Body> <Center> <Br> <Font Size=5 Color=#0022AE><A Href=http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp>How To Install Java ?</A></Font> <Br> <P> <Table Width=90% Cellspacing=5 Cellpadding=5> <Tr><Td><Font Color=#0022AE> You need JRE 6 (Java Runtime Environment) to run the programs on this site.   • How to use Devicemotion/Gyroscope to move a dot from center to 8 directions of iphone screen

    - by iSeeker
    I am trying to move a dot at center to 8 directions of iphone screen using Devicemotion such that it moves faster when tilted at a faster rate. Rough sketch is below: I could find a similar implementation in an app called Gyrododge in appstore, i cant figure out how to make it work... Update: This is what i have done so far, but the response is not smooth, and is very jittery.. xdiff and ydiff are the change of device attitude in x and y directions, derived from quatenion implementation. if (currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.x < -2) { NSLog(@"To Top"); if (195+800*ydiff >=193 && 195+800*ydiff <= 197) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; }else{ if (195+800*ydiff >=390 ) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 390, 20, 20)]; }else if (195+800*ydiff <= 0){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 0, 20, 20)]; }else if(195+800*ydiff < 194){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195+800*ydiff, 20, 20)]; }else if(195+800*ydiff > 196){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195+800*ydiff, 20, 20)]; } } }else if (currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.x > 2){ NSLog(@"To Bottom"); if (195+800*ydiff >=193 && 195+800*ydiff <= 197) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; }else{ if (195+800*ydiff >=390 ) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 390, 20, 20)]; }else if (195+800*ydiff <= 0){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 0, 20, 20)]; }else if(195+800*ydiff < 194){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195+800*ydiff, 20, 20)]; }else if(195+800*ydiff > 196){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195+800*ydiff, 20, 20)]; } } }else if (currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.y < -2){ NSLog(@"To Left"); if (150+500*xdiff >= 148 && 150+500*xdiff <=152) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; }else{ if (150+500*xdiff >= 300 ) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(300, 195, 20, 20)]; }else if (150+500*xdiff <= 0){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 195, 20, 20)]; }else if(150+500*xdiff < 148){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150+500*xdiff, 195, 20, 20)]; }else if(150+500*xdiff > 152){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150+500*xdiff, 195, 20, 20)]; } } }else if (currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.y > 2){ NSLog(@"To Right"); if (150+500*xdiff >= 148 && 150+500*xdiff <=152) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; }else{ if (150+500*xdiff >= 300 ) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(300, 195, 20, 20)]; }else if (150+500*xdiff <= 0){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 195, 20, 20)]; }else if(150+500*xdiff < 148){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150+500*xdiff, 195, 20, 20)]; }else if(150+500*xdiff > 152){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150+500*xdiff, 195, 20, 20)]; } } }else if (currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.x < -0.20 && currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.y > 0.20 ){ NSLog(@"To Diagonal Right Top"); if (150+650*xdiff >= 148 && 150+650*xdiff <=152) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; }else{ if (150+650*xdiff >= 300 ) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(300, 0, 20, 20)]; }else if(150+650*xdiff > 152){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150+650*xdiff, 195-1.3*650*xdiff, 20, 20)]; } } }else if (currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.x > 0.20 && currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.y < -0.20 ){ NSLog(@"To Diagonal Left Bottom"); if (150+650*xdiff >= 148 && 150+650*xdiff <=152) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; }else{ if (150+650*xdiff <= 0 ) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 390, 20, 20)]; }else if(150+650*xdiff < 148){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150+650*xdiff, 195-1.3*650*xdiff, 20, 20)]; } } }else if (currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.x < -0.20 && currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.y < -0.20 ){ NSLog(@"To Diagonal Left Top and xdiff is %f",xdiff); if (150+650*xdiff >= 148 && 150+650*xdiff <=152) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; }else{ if (150+650*xdiff <= 0 ) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 20, 20)]; }else if(150+650*xdiff < 148){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150+650*xdiff, 195+1.3*650*xdiff, 20, 20)]; } } }else if (currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.x > 0.20 && currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.y > 0.20 ){ NSLog(@"To Diagonal Right Bottom"); if (150+650*xdiff >= 148 && 150+650*xdiff <=152) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; }else{ if (150+650*xdiff >= 300 ) { [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(300, 390, 20, 20)]; }else if(150+650*xdiff > 152){ [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150+650*xdiff, 195+1.3*650*xdiff, 20, 20)]; } } }else if((currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.x < 0.20 && currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.x < -0.20) ||(currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.y < 0.20 && currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.y < -0.20) ||(currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.z < 0.20 && currDeviceMotion.rotationRate.z < -0.20)){ [self.rollDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; [self.pitchDot setFrame:CGRectMake(150, 195, 20, 20)]; } It could be great if i could make it move like the application i have stated above, called Gyrododge This link also addresses a similar question:Link. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated... Thanks.

  • Simple XNA 2D demo: why is my F# version slower than C# version?

    - by Den
    When running this XNA application it should display a rotated rectangle that moves from top-left corner to bottom-right corner. It looks like my F# version is noticeably much slower. It seems that the Draw method skips a lot of frames. I am using VS 2012 RC, XNA 4.0, .NET 4.5, F# 3.0. I am trying to make it as functional as possible. What could be the reason for poor performance? C#: class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { using (var game = new FlockGame()) { game.Run(); } } } public class FlockGame : Game { private GraphicsDeviceManager graphics; private DrawingManager drawingManager; • How can you use Windows Backup with a TrueCrypt encrypted backup destination?

    - by Burly
    Background There are numerous backup solutions out there for Windows and they come in many different forms. From a file copy and/or syncing tool like SyncBackSE to whole hard drive backup utilities based on Volume Shadow Copy like Acronis TrueImage or Norton Ghost to block level copy tools like dd. Each of these solutions offers different pros and cons versus the "Windows Backup and Restore Center" feature built-in to Windows Vista and Windows 7. I am not interested in discussing alternative backup solutions here however, as that has already been covered by numerous other questions. Contraints There are two "types" of backup supported by the "Windows Backup and Restore Center"(WBRC): - File backup (which Windows calls "Back Up Files") - Full System Backup (which Windows calls "Complete PC Backup) I am interested in a solution which supports either and/or both types of backup with WBRC. Questions How can you use a TrueCrypt encrypted mount point as the destination for the built-in "Windows Backup and Restore Center" feature in Windows Vista and 7? See-Also Volume Shadow Copy based backup that works with TrueCrypt References Backup and Restore Center Windows Vista - Backup and Restore Center Windows 7 - Backup and Restore Center

    - by Bob Rhubart
    The 2010 series of Oracle Technology Network Architect Day events kicked off in May with events in Dallas, Texas, Redwood Shores, California, and Anaheim, California. The centerpiece of each Architect Day event is a panel discussion that brings together the day's various presenters along with experts drawn from the local Oracle community. This week’s ArchBeat program presents highlights from the panel discussion from the event held in Anaheim. Listen The voices you’ll hear in these highlights belong to (listed in order of appearance): Ralf Dossmann: Director of SOA and Middleware in Oracle’s Enterprise Solutions Group LinkedIn | Oracle Mix Floyd Teter: Innowave Technology, Oracle ACE Director Blog | Twitter | LinkedIn | Oracle Mix | Oracle ACE Profile Basheer Khan: Innowave Technology, Oracle ACE Director Blog | Twitter | LinkedIn | Oracle Mix | Oracle ACE Profile Jeff Savit:  Oracle virtualization expert, former Sun Microsystems principal engineer Blog | LinkedIn | Oracle Mix Geri Born: Oracle security analyst LinkedIn | A 10-minute podcast can't really do justice to the hour-long panel discussion at each Architect Day event, let alone the discussion that is characteristic of each session throughout each Architect Day. But at least you’ll get a taste of what you’ll find at the live events. You’ll find slide decks and more from this first series of 2010 events in the Architect Day Artifacts post on this blog. More dates/cities will be added soon to the Architect Day schedule.  Coming Soon Next week’s ArchBeat program kicks off a three-part series featuring Cameron Purdy,  Oracle ACE Director Aleksander Seovic, and Oracle ACE John Stouffer in a conversation about data grid technology and Oracle Coherence. • Circle to Circle collision, checking each circle against all others

    - by user14861
    I'm currently coding a little circle to circle collision demo but I've got a little stuck. I think I currently have the code to detect collision but I'm not sure how to loop through my list of circles and check them off against one another. Collision check code: public static Vector2 GetIntersectionDepth(Circle a, Circle b) { float xValue = a.Center.X - b.Center.X; float yValue = a.Center.Y - b.Center.Y; Vector2 depth = Vector2.Zero; float distance = Vector2.Distance(a.Center, b.Center); if (a.Radius + b.Radius > distance) { float result = (a.Radius + b.Radius) - distance; depth.X = (float)Math.Cos(result); depth.Y = (float)Math.Sin(result); } return depth; } Loop through code: Vector2 depth = Vector2.Zero; for (int i = 0; i < bounds.Count; i++) for (int j = i+1; j < bounds.Count; j++) { depth = CircleToCircleIntersection.GetIntersectionDepth(bounds[i], bounds[j]); } Clearly I'm a complete newbie, wondering if anyone can give any suggestions or point out my errors, thanks in advance. :)

  • Pathfinding with MicroPather : costs calculations with sectors and portals

    - by Adan
    Hello, I'm considering using micropather to help me with pathfinding. I'm not using a discrete map : I'm working in 2d with sectors and portales. However, I'm just wondering what is the best way to compute costs with this library in this context. Just to be more clear about geometrical shapes I'm using : sectors are basically convex polygons, and portals are segments that lies on sector's edge. Micropather exposes a pure virtual Graph class that you must inherate and overrides 3 functions. I understand how pathfinding works, so there's no problem in overriding those functions. Right now, my implementation give me results, i.e I'm able to find a path in my map, but I'm not sure I'm using an optimal solution. For the AdjacentCost method : I just take the distance between sector's centers as the cost. I think a better solution should be to use the portal between the two sectors, compute its center, and then the cost should be : distance( sector A center, portal center ) + distance ( sector B center, portal center ). I'm pretty sure the approximation I'm using with just sector's center is enough for most cases, but maybe with thin and long sectors that are perpendicular, this approximation could mislead the A* algorithm. For the LeastCostEstimate method : I just take the midpoint of the two sectors. So, as you understand, I'm always working with sectors' centers, and it's working fine. And I'm pretty sure there's a better way to work. Any suggestions or feedbacks? Thanks in advance!

  • How to handle circle penetration

    - by Kaertserif
    I've been working on cirlce to circle collision and have gotten the intersection method working correctly, but I'm having problems using the returned values to actually seperate the circles from one another. This is the method which calculates the depth of the circle collision public static Vector2 GetIntersectionDepth(Circle a, Circle b) { float xValue = a.Center.X - b.Center.X; float yValue = a.Center.Y - b.Center.Y; Vector2 depth = Vector2.Zero; float distance = Vector2.Distance(a.Center, b.Center); if (a.Radius + b.Radius > distance) { float result = (a.Radius + b.Radius) - distance; depth.X = (float)Math.Cos(result); depth.Y = (float)Math.Sin(result); } return depth; } This is where I'm trying to apply the values to actually seperate the circles. Vector2 depth = Vector2.Zero; for (int i = 0; i < circlePositions.Count; i++) { for (int j = 0; j < circlePositions.Count; j++) { Circle bounds1 = new Circle(circlePositions[i], circle.Width / 2); Circle bounds2 = new Circle(circlePositions[j], circle.Width / 2); if(i != j) depth = CircleToCircleIntersection.GetIntersectionDepth(bounds1, bounds2); if (depth != Vector2.Zero) { circlePositions[i] = new Vector2(circlePositions[i].X + depth.X, circlePositions[i].Y + depth.Y); } } } If you can offer any help in this I would really appreciate it.

  • Current .NET technology stack for a new project? [closed]

    - by jkohlhepp
    If you are going to start a new .NET project, what technologies do you use on top of the base framework? I'm thinking things like ORMs (NHibernate, EF), logging frameworks (Log4Net), IoC containers, rules engines, UI frameworks (Telerik), etc. Are there certain technologies that you always bring in regardless of project type / complexity? Are there certain others that you bring in sometimes when complexity warrants it? This seems like a moving target, and I'm curious what people are using as their "basic setup" nowadays.

    How to place a control at the center of a canvas? I have a main VLayout set to 100%width and 100% haight. I want to place a grid at the center of this layout, meaning at the center of the browser' viewport. How to do that with smartGWT layouts? setLayoutAlign(Alignment.CENTER) This places the controls center to the layout's breadth axis. But if I nest HLayout and VLayout it is not giving desired result.

  • Understanding Oracle: Demystifying OpenWorld

    - by mseika
    Seminar: Wednesday 24th October 2012: Avnet, Bracknell Oracle OpenWorld is the world's largest event dedicated to helping enterprises harness the power of technology, during a full week in October. Oracle Corporation always uses Oracle OpenWorld to make its most important product announcements, and this year is no exception. We realise that not all our partners can attend this prestigious event in San Francisco, primarily due to time and cost pressures. Oracle OpenWorld is the only conference that goes this deep and wide with Oracle technology, providing thousands of sessions and hundreds of demonstrations geared toward helping partners and customers get better results with the technology it has —and plan strategically for the technology it will need to keep ahead of the competition in the years to come. With the sheer number of announcements planned, it is sometimes difficult to find your way through the fog and identify the opportunities relevant to your business to take advantage of, this coming year. So why not engage with the Oracle's UK team via Avnet and get the announcements shared with you face-to-face, in the UK?
