  • Implement master detail in one datagrid in wpf

    - by Archie
    Hello, I have classes as following: public class Property { public string PropertyName { get; set; } public int SumSubPropertValue; private List<SubProperty> propertyList; public void CalculateSumSubPropertValue { // implementation} } public class SubProperty { public string SubPropertyName { get; set; } public int SubPropertyValue { get; set; } } I have grouped the rows in datagrid on PropertyName . When the user clicks on PropertyName expnader the columns should display SubPropertyName and SubPropertyValue. Also SumSubPropertValue should appear in front of PropertyName in the expander header. My Datagrid is bound to a CollectionViewSource as follows: CollectionViewSource view = new CollectionViewSource(); view.Source = infoList; view.GroupDescriptions.Add(new PropertyGroupDescription("PropertyName")); Where infoList is ObservableCollection<Property>. My datagrid colmns look like <my:DataGrid.Columns> <my:DataGridTextColumn Header="SubPropertyName" Binding="{Binding SubPropertName}" Width="*"/> <my:DataGridTextColumn Header="SubPropertyValue" Binding="{Binding SubPropertyValue}" Width="*"/> </my:DataGrid.Columns> Can someone help me with it?

  • Displaying a list of Items in a WPF form using XAML

    - by Dave Colwell
    Hi guys, I am attempting to display a list of items (the style and controltemplate for these items are defined elsewhere) and i want to be able to add/remove as many as i want to. As i do not have infinite screen realestate I am displaying these in a ListBox control. This is the screen i have to date: What is going to happen is this. When i click the New button, i want the item to appear in the outlined area. So now for the problem: I want, when i click the New... Button, a new item to appear in the ListBox (outlined). Is it possible to do this using XAML? I am trying to work on seperating the business logic from the interface, so if there were some way to acheive this in XAML i would appreciate it. If not,can i use the custom templated item i have created in C# so that it will appear as the template specifies in the list box instead of like a normal ListBoxItem Thanks in advance!

  • WPF In-Memory Image Display

    - by Aren B
    Im trying to build an Item Template for my list-view and im bound to a list of Entities. The entity I have has a System.Drawing.Image that I'd like to display, but so far I cannot for the life of me figure out how to bind it to the <Image> block. Every example and documentation I can find on the internet pertains to Images accessible via an uri i.e. File on HDD or On Website <DataTemplate x:Key="LogoPreviewItem"> <Border BorderBrush="Black" BorderThickness="1"> <DockPanel Width="150" Height="100"> <Image> <Image.Source> <!-- {Binding PreviewImage} is where the System.Drawing.Image is in this context --> </Image.Source> </Image> <Label DockPanel.Dock="Bottom" Content="{Binding CustomerName}" /> </DockPanel> </Border> </DataTemplate>

  • Confusion about WPF binding...

    - by Vladislav
    I am trying to bind a 2D array of buttons arranged in stackpanels to a 2D ObservableCollection... Yet, I'm afraid I don't understand something very elementary about binding. My XAML: <Window.Resources> <DataTemplate x:Key="ItemsAsButtons"> <Button Content="{Binding}" Height="100" Width="100"/> </DataTemplate> <DataTemplate x:Key="PanelOfPanels"> <ItemsControl ItemsSource="{Binding Path=DayNumbers}" ItemTemplate=" {DynamicResource ItemsAsButtons}"> <ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"/> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> </ItemsControl> </DataTemplate> </Window.Resources> ... <ItemsControl x:Name="DaysPanel" Grid.ColumnSpan="7" Grid.Row="2" ItemTemplate="{DynamicResource PanelOfPanels}"/> My C# code: The backend: /// <summary> /// Window BE for Calendar.xaml /// </summary> public partial class Calendar : Window { private CalendarViewModel _vm; public Calendar() { InitializeComponent(); _vm = new CalendarViewModel(); this.DataContext = _vm; } } The ViewModel: class CalendarViewModel { CalendarMonth _displayedMonth; EventCalendar _calendar; public CalendarViewModel() { _displayedMonth = new CalendarMonth(); } public ObservableCollection<ObservableCollection<int>> DayNumbers { get { return _displayedMonth.DayNumbers; } } } I'm trying to populate the buttons with values from CalendarViewModel.DayNumbers - yet the buttons do not appear. I'm clearly doing something wrong with my binding.

  • WPF Custom ListBox as Buttons Click not firing

    - by Ryan
    I am attempting to have a ListBox of TextBoxes with click events. I have read that one way to achieve this was to have a list of Buttons and call ButtonBase.Click="" on the ListBox. • Accessing WPF Template for Custom Control from Code behind

    - by Ashwani Mehlem
    Hi, i am trying to access a named grid inside a default template for a custom control from code behind. But it seems that the template for the control is null, even after calling ApplyTemplate(). Is that impossible inside the controls constuctor? Here's the code: Generic.xaml: ... <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type local:TimeTableControl}"> <Grid Name="ContentGrid"> </Grid> </ControlTemplate> ... TimeTableControl.cs: public TimeTableControl() { ApplyTemplate(); contentGrid = (Grid)(Template.FindName("ContentGrid", this)); //Line above causes null-pointer-exception ... }

  • WPF Trigger / Style overrides another

    - by ozczecho
    I have a listview defined as such <ListView Width="auto" SelectionMode="Single" ItemContainerStyle="{StaticResource baseListViewStyle}" .... Then in "baseListViewStyle" I have defined some base styles to apply to my list views, including a Style trigger: <Style x:Key="baseListViewStyle" TargetType="ListViewItem"> <Setter Property="Height" Value="20" /> <Setter Property="HorizontalContentAlignment" Value="Stretch"/> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsMouseOver" Value="True"> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="Red" /> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> The trigger here highlights the row when mouse is over it. Nice. I also have a Data Trigger on the listviewitem: <Style.Triggers> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding IsTestTrue}" Value="True"> <DataTrigger.EnterActions> <BeginStoryboard Storyboard="{StaticResource SomeFunkyAnimation}" /> </DataTrigger.EnterActions> </DataTrigger> If test is true then a nice little fade animation is played out. This all works except when I move my mouse over the row where "test is true" the animation stops and the mouse over style is displayed. Any ideas how I can override that style in my DataTrigger? TIA

  • WPF: How to get Binding.Converter

    - by Nike
    I create DataGrid Columns with Binding (where i is a Int value): dataGrid.Columns.Add(new DataGridTextColumn { Header = i.ToString(), Binding = CreateBinding(i), }); private Binding CreateBinding(int num) { Binding bind = new Binding(string.Format("[{0}]", num)); bind.Converter = new CellValueConverter(); return bind; } In the CreateBinding method I have an access to bind.Converter property. I need to call Converter.Convert() method in some handler, but there is no Converter property when I try to access it: (dataGrid.Columns[clm] as DataGridTextColumn).Binding."no Converter property!" How can I get my CellValueConverter which was created for particular Column?

  • Saving a screenshot of a window using C#, WPF, and DWM

    - by Evan
    This is a follow up question to this question The solution to the above uses DWM to display a thumbnail of an active window. If I understand correctly, it works by letting you specify the window handle of the application you want to view and then having you provide a window handle and a location on that window where windows should draw the contents of the target Window. Is there a way to render the window screen shot directly to BitmapImage or Image instead of directly drawing it somewhere in your window? (Basically to just grab a screen shot of the window - even if it's covered by another window - with out using an updating thumbnail.) Thanks for you help!

  • WPF Accessing Items inside Listbox which has a UserControl as ItemTemplate

    - by Turker
    I have Window that has a ListBox ListBox(MyListBox) has a DataTable for its DataContext ListBox's ItemSource is : {Binding} Listbox has a UserControl(MyUserControl) as DataTemplate UserControl has RadioButtons and TextBoxes (At first They're filled with values from DataTable and then user can change them) Window has one Submit Button What I want to do is, when user clicks the submit button For each ListBox Item, get the values form UserControl's TextBoxes and RadioButtons. I was using that method for this job : foreach(var element in MyListBox.Items) { var border = MyListBox.ItemContainerGenerator.ContainerFromItem(element)as FrameworkElement; MyUserControl currentControl = VisualTreeHelper.GetChild(VisualTreeHelper.GetChild(VisualTreeHelper.GetChild(myBorder,0) as Border,0)as ContentPresenter,0)as MyUserControl; //And use currentControl } I realised nothing when using 3-5 items in Listbox. But when I used much more items, I saw that "var border" gets "null" after some elements looped in foreach function. I found the reason here : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1675926/listview-itemcontainergenerator-containerfromitemitem-return-null-after-20-item So what can I do now? I want to access all items and get their values sitting on user controls. Thanks

  • Wpf binding with nested properties

    - by byte
    ViewModel I have a property of type Member called KeyMember. The 'Member' type has an ObservableCollection called Addresses. The Address is composed of two strings - street and postcode . View I have a ListBox whose item source need to be set to ViewModels's KeyMember property and it should display the Street of all the Past Addresses in the collection. Question My ViewModel and View relationship is established properly. I am able to write a data template for the above simple case as below <ListBox ItemsSource="{Binding KeyMember.Addresses}"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate DataType="Address"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Street}"/> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> How would I write the DataTemplate if I change KeyMember from type Member to ObservableCollection< Member assuming that the collection has only one element. PS: I know that for multiple elements in collection, I will have to implement the Master-Detail pattern/scenario.
