I ran bluescreenview and here are the last four BSOD's from today: ================================================== Dump File : 051210-18642-01.dmp Crash Time : 5/12/2010 8:36:14 AM Bug Check String : SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION Bug Check Code : 0x0000003b Parameter 1 : 00000000`c000001d Parameter 2 : fffff880`00000000 Parameter 3 : fffff880`06fda160 Parameter 4 : 00000000`00000000 Caused By Driver : Ntfs.sys Caused By Address : Ntfs.sys+7f030 File Description : Product Name : Company : File Version : Processor : x64 Computer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\051210-18642-01.dmp Processors Count : 2 Major Version : 15 Minor Version : 7600 ================================================== ================================================== Dump File : 051210-16551-01.dmp Crash Time : 5/12/2010 8:41:04 AM Bug Check String : SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION Bug Check Code : 0x0000003b Parameter 1 : 00000000`c000001d Parameter 2 : fffff880`00000000 Parameter 3 : fffff880`06f40160 Parameter 4 : 00000000`00000000 Caused By Driver : ntoskrnl.exe Caused By Address : ntoskrnl.exe+70600 File Description : NT Kernel & System Product Name : Microsoft® Windows® Operating System Company : Microsoft Corporation File Version : 6.1.7600.16539 (win7_gdr.100226-1909) Processor : x64 Computer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\051210-16551-01.dmp Processors Count : 2 Major Version : 15 Minor Version : 7600 ================================================== ================================================== Dump File : 051210-17269-01.dmp Crash Time : 5/12/2010 8:45:51 AM Bug Check String : SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION Bug Check Code : 0x0000003b Parameter 1 : 00000000`c000001d Parameter 2 : fffff880`00000000 Parameter 3 : fffff880`07db1160 Parameter 4 : 00000000`00000000 Caused By Driver : Ntfs.sys Caused By Address : Ntfs.sys+7f030 File Description : Product Name : Company : File Version : Processor : x64 Computer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\051210-17269-01.dmp Processors Count : 2 Major Version : 15 Minor Version : 7600 ================================================== ================================================== Dump File : 051210-19453-01.dmp Crash Time : 5/12/2010 5:46:25 PM Bug Check String : SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION Bug Check Code : 0x0000003b Parameter 1 : 00000000`c000001d Parameter 2 : fffff880`00000000 Parameter 3 : fffff880`02625160 Parameter 4 : 00000000`00000000 Caused By Driver : win32k.sys Caused By Address : win32k.sys+2d4201 File Description : Product Name : Company : File Version : Processor : x64 Computer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\051210-19453-01.dmp Processors Count : 2 Major Version : 15 Minor Version : 7600 ==================================================

  • Does O2Micro Oz776 Smartcard reader support SLE5528 cards?

    - by Proton
    Well, the title seems indicating I'm a lazy guy but it's not the truth... I'm messing with this weird circumstance a whole day. My laptop is a Dell Latitude D630 which has a Oz776 (usb idVendor == 0x0b97, idProduct == 0x7772) smartcard reader, but I'm not sure if it is functioning well. It can successfully recognize my Gemplus GPK4000 smartcard and my SIM card, but not SLE5528. This is my pcscd log when insert the GPK4000: 06039271 ifdhandler.c:1043:IFDHPowerICC() action: PowerUp, usb:0b97/7772:libhal:/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_b97_7772_noserial_if0 (lun: 0) 00000100 - 000000 62 00 00 00 00 00 14 01 00 00 00967744 <- 000000 80 0A 00 00 00 00 14 00 00 00 3B 27 00 80 65 A2 0C 01 01 37 00000048 ATR: 3B 27 00 80 65 A2 0C 01 01 37 00000013 atrhandler.c:102:ATRDecodeAtr() Conv: 01, Y1: 02, K: 07 00000011 atrhandler.c:120:ATRDecodeAtr() TA1: FFFFFFFF, TB1: 00, TC1: FFFFFFFF, TD1:FFFFFFFF 00000011 atrhandler.c:248:ATRDecodeAtr() CurrentProtocol: 1, AvailableProtocols: 1 00000062 eventhandler.c:429:EHStatusHandlerThread() Card inserted into O2 Micro Oz776 00 00 00000014 Card ATR: 3B 27 00 80 65 A2 0C 01 01 37 29016873 eventhandler.c:361:EHStatusHandlerThread() Card Removed From O2 Micro Oz776 00 00 This is the log when insert a SLE5528 card: 99999999 ifdhandler.c:1043:IFDHPowerICC() action: PowerUp, usb:0b97/7772:libhal:/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_b97_7772_noserial_if0 (lun: 0) 00000048 - 000000 62 00 00 00 00 00 11 01 00 00 ** Then it chokes here, when I remove the card, the log continues ** 04741980 <- 000000 80 00 00 00 00 00 11 42 FE 00 00000044 commands.c:225:CmdPowerOn Card absent or mute 00000017 ifdhandler.c:1096:IFDHPowerICC() PowerUp failed 00000082 eventhandler.c:429:EHStatusHandlerThread() Card inserted into O2 Micro Oz776 00 00 00000021 eventhandler.c:443:EHStatusHandlerThread() Error powering up card. 00402818 eventhandler.c:361:EHStatusHandlerThread() Card Removed From O2 Micro Oz776 00 00 I found that SLE5528 is ISO7816 compatible, and it should have ATR, but it just chokes at the PowerUp. When inserted any PVC card with no chip or AT24C01 card, it would not choke but report immediate PowerUp failure. When I tried it on Windows(Windows 7, "runas other user", smartcard login), it chokes too while PVC cards and AT24C01 report immediate failure.

  • ubuntu 10.04 logs itself out overnight

    - by Corey
    Every night when I leave work, I lock the screen via ubuntu's "power" button in the top right hand panel. When I come to work in the morning, I'm greeted with the log-in screen. This doesn't happen every night, but most. I'm running ubuntu 10.04 on a Dell inspiron. I've included some HW specs, and also dmesg output. Please let me know what other logs may be useful. thanks! • Thread Blocks During Call

  • MySQL GROUP_CONCAT + IN() = missing data :-(

    - by Andrew Heath
    Example: Table: box boxID color 01 red 02 blue 03 green Table: boxHas boxID has 01 apple 01 pear 01 grapes 01 banana 02 lime 02 apple 02 pear 03 chihuahua 03 nachos 03 baby crocodile I want to query on the contents of each box, and return a table with each ID, color, and a column that concatenates the contents of each box, so I use: SELECT box.boxID, box.color, GROUP_CONCAT(DISTINCT boxHas.has SEPARATOR ", ") AS contents FROM box LEFT JOIN boxHas ON box.boxID=boxHas.boxID WHERE boxHas.has IN ('apple','pear') GROUP BY box.boxID ORDER BY box.boxID and I get the following table of results: boxID color contents 01 red apple, pear 02 blue apple, pear My question to you is: why isn't it listing ALL the has values in the contents column? Why is my WHERE statement also cropping my GROUP_CONCAT? The table I thought I was going to get is: boxID color contents 01 red apple, banana, grapes, pear 02 blue apple, lime, pear Although I want to limit my boxID results based upon the WHERE statement, I do not want to limit the contents field for valid boxes. :-/ Help?

Nothing from behind the colon is there though. How should I 'escape' it so that the colon is properly recognized? Its PHP... Thanks

  • Oracle Database 12 c New Partition Maintenance Features by Gwen Lazenby

    - by hamsun
    One of my favourite new features in Oracle Database 12c is the ability to perform partition maintenance operations on multiple partitions. This means we can now add, drop, truncate and merge multiple partitions in one operation, and can split a single partition into more than two partitions also in just one command. This would certainly have made my life slightly easier had it been available when I administered a data warehouse at Oracle 9i. To demonstrate this new functionality and syntax, I am going to create two tables, ORDERS and ORDERS_ITEMS which have a parent-child relationship. ORDERS is to be partitioned using range partitioning on the ORDER_DATE column, and ORDER_ITEMS is going to partitioned using reference partitioning and its foreign key relationship with the ORDERS table. This form of partitioning was a new feature in 11g and means that any partition maintenance operations performed on the ORDERS table will also take place on the ORDER_ITEMS table as well. First create the ORDERS table - SQL CREATE TABLE orders ( order_id NUMBER(12), order_date TIMESTAMP, order_mode VARCHAR2(8), customer_id NUMBER(6), order_status NUMBER(2), order_total NUMBER(8,2), sales_rep_id NUMBER(6), promotion_id NUMBER(6), CONSTRAINT orders_pk PRIMARY KEY(order_id) ) PARTITION BY RANGE(order_date) (PARTITION Q1_2007 VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE('01-APR-2007','DD-MON-YYYY')), PARTITION Q2_2007 VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE('01-JUL-2007','DD-MON-YYYY')), PARTITION Q3_2007 VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE('01-OCT-2007','DD-MON-YYYY')), PARTITION Q4_2007 VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE('01-JAN-2008','DD-MON-YYYY')) ); Table created. Now the ORDER_ITEMS table SQL CREATE TABLE order_items ( order_id NUMBER(12) NOT NULL, line_item_id NUMBER(3) NOT NULL, product_id NUMBER(6) NOT NULL, unit_price NUMBER(8,2), quantity NUMBER(8), CONSTRAINT order_items_fk FOREIGN KEY(order_id) REFERENCES orders(order_id) on delete cascade) PARTITION BY REFERENCE(order_items_fk) tablespace example; Table created. Now look at DBA_TAB_PARTITIONS to get details of what partitions we have in the two tables – SQL select table_name,partition_name, partition_position position, high_value from dba_tab_partitions where table_owner='SH' and table_name like 'ORDER_%' order by partition_position, table_name; TABLE_NAME PARTITION_NAME POSITION HIGH_VALUE -------------- --------------- -------- ------------------------- ORDERS Q1_2007 1 TIMESTAMP' 2007-04-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q1_2007 1 ORDERS Q2_2007 2 TIMESTAMP' 2007-07-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q2_2007 2 ORDERS Q3_2007 3 TIMESTAMP' 2007-10-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q3_2007 3 ORDERS Q4_2007 4 TIMESTAMP' 2008-01-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q4_2007 4 Just as an aside it is also now possible in 12c to use interval partitioning on reference partitioned tables. In 11g it was not possible to combine these two new partitioning features. For our first example of the new 12cfunctionality, let us add all the partitions necessary for 2008 to the tables using one command. Notice that the partition specification part of the add command is identical in format to the partition specification part of the create command as shown above - SQL alter table orders add PARTITION Q1_2008 VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE('01-APR-2008','DD-MON-YYYY')), PARTITION Q2_2008 VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE('01-JUL-2008','DD-MON-YYYY')), PARTITION Q3_2008 VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE('01-OCT-2008','DD-MON-YYYY')), PARTITION Q4_2008 VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE('01-JAN-2009','DD-MON-YYYY')); Table altered. Now look at DBA_TAB_PARTITIONS and we can see that the 4 new partitions have been added to both tables – SQL select table_name,partition_name, partition_position position, high_value from dba_tab_partitions where table_owner='SH' and table_name like 'ORDER_%' order by partition_position, table_name; TABLE_NAME PARTITION_NAME POSITION HIGH_VALUE -------------- --------------- -------- ------------------------- ORDERS Q1_2007 1 TIMESTAMP' 2007-04-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q1_2007 1 ORDERS Q2_2007 2 TIMESTAMP' 2007-07-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q2_2007 2 ORDERS Q3_2007 3 TIMESTAMP' 2007-10-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q3_2007 3 ORDERS Q4_2007 4 TIMESTAMP' 2008-01-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q4_2007 4 ORDERS Q1_2008 5 TIMESTAMP' 2008-04-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q1_2008 5 ORDERS Q2_2008 6 TIMESTAMP' 2008-07-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEM Q2_2008 6 ORDERS Q3_2008 7 TIMESTAMP' 2008-10-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q3_2008 7 ORDERS Q4_2008 8 TIMESTAMP' 2009-01-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q4_2008 8 Next, we can drop or truncate multiple partitions by giving a comma separated list in the alter table command. Note the use of the plural ‘partitions’ in the command as opposed to the singular ‘partition’ prior to 12c– SQL alter table orders drop partitions Q3_2008,Q2_2008,Q1_2008; Table altered. Now look at DBA_TAB_PARTITIONS and we can see that the 3 partitions have been dropped in both the two tables – TABLE_NAME PARTITION_NAME POSITION HIGH_VALUE -------------- --------------- -------- ------------------------- ORDERS Q1_2007 1 TIMESTAMP' 2007-04-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q1_2007 1 ORDERS Q2_2007 2 TIMESTAMP' 2007-07-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q2_2007 2 ORDERS Q3_2007 3 TIMESTAMP' 2007-10-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q3_2007 3 ORDERS Q4_2007 4 TIMESTAMP' 2008-01-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q4_2007 4 ORDERS Q4_2008 5 TIMESTAMP' 2009-01-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q4_2008 5 Now let us merge all the 2007 partitions together to form one single partition – SQL alter table orders merge partitions Q1_2005, Q2_2005, Q3_2005, Q4_2005 into partition Y_2007; Table altered. TABLE_NAME PARTITION_NAME POSITION HIGH_VALUE -------------- --------------- -------- ------------------------- ORDERS Y_2007 1 TIMESTAMP' 2008-01-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Y_2007 1 ORDERS Q4_2008 2 TIMESTAMP' 2009-01-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q4_2008 2 Splitting partitions is a slightly more involved. In the case of range partitioning one of the new partitions must have no high value defined, and in list partitioning one of the new partitions must have no list of values defined. I call these partitions the ‘everything else’ partitions, and will contain any rows contained in the original partition that are not contained in the any of the other new partitions. For example, let us split the Y_2007 partition back into 4 quarterly partitions – SQL alter table orders split partition Y_2007 into (PARTITION Q1_2007 VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE('01-APR-2007','DD-MON-YYYY')), PARTITION Q2_2007 VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE('01-JUL-2007','DD-MON-YYYY')), PARTITION Q3_2007 VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE('01-OCT-2007','DD-MON-YYYY')), PARTITION Q4_2007); Now look at DBA_TAB_PARTITIONS to get details of the new partitions – TABLE_NAME PARTITION_NAME POSITION HIGH_VALUE -------------- --------------- -------- ------------------------- ORDERS Q1_2007 1 TIMESTAMP' 2007-04-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q1_2007 1 ORDERS Q2_2007 2 TIMESTAMP' 2007-07-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q2_2007 2 ORDERS Q3_2007 3 TIMESTAMP' 2007-10-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q3_2007 3 ORDERS Q4_2007 4 TIMESTAMP' 2008-01-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q4_2007 4 ORDERS Q4_2008 5 TIMESTAMP' 2009-01-01 00:00:00' ORDER_ITEMS Q4_2008 5 Partition Q4_2007 has a high value equal to the high value of the original Y_2007 partition, and so has inherited its upper boundary from the partition that was split. As for a list partitioning example let look at the following another table, SALES_PAR_LIST, which has 2 partitions, Americas and Europe and a partitioning key of country_name. SQL select table_name,partition_name, high_value from dba_tab_partitions where table_owner='SH' and table_name = 'SALES_PAR_LIST'; TABLE_NAME PARTITION_NAME HIGH_VALUE -------------- --------------- ----------------------------- SALES_PAR_LIST AMERICAS 'Argentina', 'Canada', 'Peru', 'USA', 'Honduras', 'Brazil', 'Nicaragua' SALES_PAR_LIST EUROPE 'France', 'Spain', 'Ireland', 'Germany', 'Belgium', 'Portugal', 'Denmark' Now split the Americas partition into 3 partitions – SQL alter table sales_par_list split partition americas into (partition south_america values ('Argentina','Peru','Brazil'), partition north_america values('Canada','USA'), partition central_america); Table altered. Note that no list of values was given for the ‘Central America’ partition. However it should have inherited any values in the original ‘Americas’ partition that were not assigned to either the ‘North America’ or ‘South America’ partitions. We can confirm this by looking at the DBA_TAB_PARTITIONS view. SQL select table_name,partition_name, high_value from dba_tab_partitions where table_owner='SH' and table_name = 'SALES_PAR_LIST'; TABLE_NAME PARTITION_NAME HIGH_VALUE --------------- --------------- -------------------------------- SALES_PAR_LIST SOUTH_AMERICA 'Argentina', 'Peru', 'Brazil' SALES_PAR_LIST NORTH_AMERICA 'Canada', 'USA' SALES_PAR_LIST CENTRAL_AMERICA 'Honduras', 'Nicaragua' SALES_PAR_LIST EUROPE 'France', 'Spain', 'Ireland', 'Germany', 'Belgium', 'Portugal', 'Denmark' In conclusion, I hope that DBA’s whose work involves maintaining partitions will find the operations a bit more straight forward to carry out once they have upgraded to Oracle Database 12c. • Need help identiying a nasty rootkit in Windows

    - by goofrider
    I have a nasty rootkit that not tools seem to be able to idenity. I know for sure it's a rootkit, but I can figure out which rootkit it is. Here's what I gathered so far: It creates multiple copies of itself in %HOME%\Local Settings\Temp with names like Q.EXE, IAJARZ.exe, etc., and install them as hidden services. These EXE have SysInternals identifiers in them so they're definitely rootkits. It hooked very deep in the system, including file read/write, security policies, registry read/write, and possibly WinSock/TCP/IP. When going to Sophos.com to download their software, the rootkit inject something called Microsoft Ajax Tootkit into the page, which injects code into the email submission form in order to redirect it. (EDIT: I might have panicked. Looks like Sophos does use an AJAZ email form, their form is just broken on Chrome so it looked like a mail form injection attack, the link is http://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/virus-removal-tool/download.aspx ) Super-Antispyware found a lot of spyware cookies, in the name of .kaspersky.2o7.net, etc. (just chedk 2o7.net, looks like it's a legit ad company) I tried comparing DNS lookup from the infected systems and from system in other physical locations, no DNS redirections it seems. I used dd to copy the MBR and compared it with the MBR provided by ms-sys package, no differences so it's not infecting MBR. No antivirus or rootkit scanner be able to identify it. Most of them can't even find it. I tried scanning, in-situ (normal mode), in safe mode, and boot to linux live CD. Scanners used: Avast, Sophos anti rootkit, Kasersky TDSSKiller, GMER, RootkitRevealer, and many others. Kaspersky reported some unsigned system files that ought to be signed (e.g. tcpip.sys), and reported a number of MD5 mismatches. But otherwise couldn't identify anything based on signature. When running Sysinternal RootkitRevealer and Sophos AntiRootkit, CPU usage goes up to 100% and gets stucked. The Rootkit is blocking them. When trying running/installing HiJackThis, RootkitRevealer and some other scanners, it tells me system security policy prevent running/installing it. The list of malicious acitivities go on and on. here's a sample of logs from all my scans. In particular, aswSnx.SYS, apnenfno.sys and PROCMON20.SYS has a huge number of hooks. It's hard to tell if the rootkit replaced legit program files like aswSnx.SYS (from Avast) and PROCMON20.SYS (from Sysinternal Process Monitor). I can't find whether apnenfno.sys is from a legit program. Help to identify it is appreciated. • Read a text file and transfer contents to mysql database

    - by Jack Brown
    I need a php script to read a .txt file. The content of the text file are like this: data.txt 145|Joe Blogs|17/03/1954 986|Jim Smith|12/01/1976 234|Paul Jones|19/07/1923 098|James Smith|12/09/1998 234|Carl Jones|01/01/1925 These would then get stored into a database like this DataID |Name |DOB 234 |Carl Jones|01/01/1925 I would be so grateful if someone could give me script to achieve this.

  • Why does using ASP.NET OutputCache keep returning a 200 OK, not a 304 Not Modified?

    - by Pure.Krome

Here's the top of it:- <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Foo.aspx.cs" Inherits="Foo" %> <%@ OutputCache Duration="3600" VaryByParam="none" Location="Any" %> Now, every time I hit the page in FireFox (either hit F5 or hit enter in the url bar) I keep getting a 200 OK response. Here's a sample reply from FireBug :- Request Headers:- GET /sitemap.xml HTTP/1.1 Host: localhost.foo.com.au User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8 Accept-Language: en-au,en-gb;q=0.7,en;q=0.3 Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Keep-Alive: 115 Connection: keep-alive Cookie: <snipped> If-Modified-Since: Tue, 01 Jun 2010 07:35:17 GMT If-None-Match: "" Cache-Control: max-age=0 Response Headers:- HTTP/1.1 200 OK Cache-Control: public Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8 Expires: Tue, 01 Jun 2010 08:35:17 GMT Last-Modified: Tue, 01 Jun 2010 07:35:17 GMT Etag: "" Server: Microsoft-IIS/7.5 X-Powered-By: UrlRewriter.NET 2.0.0 X-AspNet-Version: 4.0.30319 Date: Tue, 01 Jun 2010 07:35:20 GMT Content-Length: 775 Firebug Cache tab:- Last Modified Tue Jun 01 2010 17:35:20 GMT+1000 (AUS Eastern Standard Time) Last Fetched Tue Jun 01 2010 17:35:20 GMT+1000 (AUS Eastern Standard Time) Expires Tue Jun 01 2010 18:35:17 GMT+1000 (AUS Eastern Standard Time) Data Size 775 Fetch Count 105 Device disk Now, if i try it in Fiddler using the Request Builder (and no extra data) I also keep getting the same 200 OK reply.   • Why i disconnect every few seconds? using USB wireless adapter

    - by Rev3rse
    i know it's for ubuntu questions..but mint and ubuntu are very similiar and i had the same problem with linux ubuntu too..so i think this is the right place for my question anyway i don't have experience with drivers and other things,after installing Linux on my machine( i did dist-upgrade btw) everything seem to be great because i didn't have to install any driver, after a while i realized that my connection stop after few minutes(actually it shows that I'm connected but it's not) so i have to reconnect and after few minutes it disconnect again. I'm using Alfa USB wireless adapter AWS036H, and my Linux version is 11 i think the driver i'm using is Realtek i searched in the Internet and i found nothing. these are some outputs of few things people usually ask for: Note: I'm NOT using a laptop. dmsg: [19445.604448] [UFW BLOCK] IN=wlan0 OUT= MAC=00:c0:ca:44:62:d1:00:24:c8:4b:46:e0:08:00 SRC=2.174.220.77 DST=192.168.1.6 LEN=52 TOS=0x00 • Linux Kernel not passing through multicast UDP packets

    - by buecking
    Recently I've set up a new Ubuntu Server 10.04 and noticed my UDP server is no longer able to see any multicast data sent to the interface, even after joining the multicast group. I've got the exact same set up on two other Ubuntu 8.04.4 LTS machines and there is no problem receiving data after joining the same multicast group. The ethernet card is a Broadcom netXtreme II BCM5709 and the driver used is: b $ ethtool -i eth1 driver: bnx2 version: 2.0.2 firmware-version: 5.0.11 NCSI 2.0.5 bus-info: 0000:01:00.1 I'm using smcroute to manage my multicast registrations. b$ smcroute -d b$ smcroute -j eth1 233.37.54.71 After joining the group ip maddr shows the newly added registration. b$ ip maddr 1: lo inet 224.0.0.1 inet6 ff02::1 2: eth0 link 33:33:ff:40:c6:ad link 01:00:5e:00:00:01 link 33:33:00:00:00:01 inet 224.0.0.1 inet6 ff02::1:ff40:c6ad inet6 ff02::1 3: eth1 link 01:00:5e:25:36:47 link 01:00:5e:25:36:3e link 01:00:5e:25:36:3d link 33:33:ff:40:c6:af link 01:00:5e:00:00:01 link 33:33:00:00:00:01 inet 233.37.54.71 <------- McastGroup. inet 224.0.0.1 inet6 ff02::1:ff40:c6af inet6 ff02::1 So far so good, I can see that I'm receiving data for this multicast group. b$ sudo tcpdump -i eth1 -s 65534 host 233.37.54.71 tcpdump: verbose output suppressed, use -v or -vv for full protocol decode listening on eth1, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), capture size 65534 bytes 09:30:09.924337 IP 192.164.1.120.58848 > 233.37.54.71.15572: UDP, length 212 09:30:09.947547 IP 192.164.1.120.58848 > 233.37.54.71.15572: UDP, length 212 09:30:10.108378 IP 192.164.1.120.58866 > 233.37.54.71.15574: UDP, length 268 09:30:10.196841 IP 192.164.1.120.58848 > 233.37.54.71.15572: UDP, length 212 ... I can also confirm that the interface is receiving mcast packets. b $ ethtool -S eth1 | grep mcast_pack rx_mcast_packets: 103998 tx_mcast_packets: 33 Now here's the problem. When I try to capture the traffic using a simple ruby UDP server I receive zero data! Here's a simple server that reads data send on port 15572 and prints the first two characters. This works on the two 8.04.4 Ubuntu Servers, but not the 10.04 server. require 'socket' s = UDPSocket.new s.bind("", 15572) 5.times do text, sender = s.recvfrom(2) puts text end If I send a UDP packet crafted in ruby to localhost, the server receives it and prints out the first two characters. So I know that the server above is working correctly. irb(main):001:0> require 'socket' => true irb(main):002:0> s = UDPSocket.new => #<UDPSocket:0x7f3ccd6615f0> irb(main):003:0> s.send("I2 XXX", 0, 'localhost', 15572) When I check the protocol statistics I see that InMcastPkts is not increasing. While on the other 8.04 servers, on the same network, received a few thousands packets in 10 seconds. b $ netstat -sgu ; sleep 10 ; netstat -sgu IcmpMsg: InType3: 11 OutType3: 11 Udp: 446 packets received 4 packets to unknown port received. 0 packet receive errors 461 packets sent UdpLite: IpExt: InMcastPkts: 4654 <--------- Same as below OutMcastPkts: 3426 InBcastPkts: 9854 InOctets: -1691733021 OutOctets: 51187936 InMcastOctets: 145207 OutMcastOctets: 109680 InBcastOctets: 1246341 IcmpMsg: InType3: 11 OutType3: 11 Udp: 446 packets received 4 packets to unknown port received. 0 packet receive errors 461 packets sent UdpLite: IpExt: InMcastPkts: 4656 <-------------- Same as above OutMcastPkts: 3427 InBcastPkts: 9854 InOctets: -1690886265 OutOctets: 51188788 InMcastOctets: 145267 OutMcastOctets: 109712 InBcastOctets: 1246341 If I try forcing the interface into promisc mode nothing changes. At this point I'm stuck. I've confirmed the kernel config has multicast enabled. Perhaps there are other config options I should be checking? b $ grep CONFIG_IP_MULTICAST /boot/config-2.6.32-23-server CONFIG_IP_MULTICAST=y Any thoughts on where to go from here?

  • Is this valid JFS partition?

    - by Coolmax
    This is my first question on StackExchange. My teacher gave my his laptop (with Fedora 16 on it) and compact flash card with data. He want to have access to files on card, but he couldn't get access to it. The problem is Linux don't know what type of partion is. I suppose there is JFS: root@debian:~# dmesg |grep sdc [ 9066.908223] sd 3:0:0:1: [sdc] 3940272 512-byte logical blocks: (2.01 GB/1.87 GiB) [ 9066.962307] sd 3:0:0:1: [sdc] Write Protect is off [ 9066.962310] sd 3:0:0:1: [sdc] Mode Sense: 03 00 00 00 [ 9066.962312] sd 3:0:0:1: [sdc] Assuming drive cache: write through [ 9067.028420] sd 3:0:0:1: [sdc] Assuming drive cache: write through [ 9067.028637] sdc: unknown partition table [ 9067.097065] sd 3:0:0:1: [sdc] Assuming drive cache: write through [ 9067.097281] sd 3:0:0:1: [sdc] Attached SCSI removable disk and some of data: root@debian:~# hexdump -Cn 65536 /dev/sdc 00000000 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |................| * 00008000 4a 46 53 31 01 00 00 00 48 63 0e 00 00 00 00 00 |JFS1....Hc......| 00008010 00 10 00 00 0c 00 03 00 00 02 00 00 09 00 00 00 |................| 00008020 00 20 00 00 00 09 20 10 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |. .... .........| 00008030 04 00 00 00 26 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 24 00 00 00 |....&.......$...| 00008040 41 03 00 00 16 00 00 00 00 02 00 00 a0 cc 01 00 |A...............| 00008050 37 00 00 00 69 cc 01 00 b6 d8 ac 4b 00 00 00 00 |7...i......K....| 00008060 32 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |2...............| 00008070 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |................| 00008080 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 90 15 e5 5f e3 c4 45 fa |..........._..E.| 00008090 9d 6a 5c b5 4f da 62 1a 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |.j\.O.b.........| 000080a0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 c3 c9 01 00 ed 81 00 00 |................| 000080b0 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |................| 000080c0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |................| * [cut] * 0000f000 4a 46 53 31 01 00 00 00 48 63 0e 00 00 00 00 00 |JFS1....Hc......| 0000f010 00 10 00 00 0c 00 03 00 00 02 00 00 09 00 00 00 |................| 0000f020 00 20 00 00 00 09 20 10 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |. .... .........| 0000f030 04 00 00 00 26 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 24 00 00 00 |....&.......$...| 0000f040 41 03 00 00 16 00 00 00 00 02 00 00 a0 cc 01 00 |A...............| 0000f050 37 00 00 00 69 cc 01 00 b6 d8 ac 4b 00 00 00 00 |7...i......K....| 0000f060 32 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |2...............| 0000f070 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |................| 0000f080 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 90 15 e5 5f e3 c4 45 fa |..........._..E.| 0000f090 9d 6a 5c b5 4f da 62 1a 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |.j\.O.b.........| 0000f0a0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 c3 c9 01 00 ed 81 00 00 |................| 0000f0b0 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |................| 0000f0c0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |................| * 00010000 I'm total newbie to filesystems. I googled and found that JFS superblock may starts on 0x8000 offset. But what next? How to mount this card? And sorry for my bad english :) Kind regards.
