  I just recently followed the tutorials on http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/download for installing the ubuntu server onto my 1TB Seagate External. I was planning on using this to install it on my macbook and in these instructions it states to preform this line of code Run diskutil unmountDisk /dev/diskN (replace N with the disk number from the last command; in the previous example, N would be 2) Now my HD prompts "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer". • How to Print From Metro Apps in Windows 8

  Printing has become an application aware feature in Metro applications. This makes the outcome of a print job different from application to application, but the question remains, how do you print? Using the Keyboard Not all apps support printing in Windows 8, a good example of one that does is Mail. So fire up the default Mail app select an email you want to print. When you are ready, go ahead and press the ctrl + P keyboard combination. This will bring up a list of available print devices on the right-hand side, you can use the up and down arrows to select a printer. You will get most of the options you are use to when printing, so once you have set up your preferences go ahead and hit the print button. Using the Mouse If you would rather use your mouse, move it to the bottom right hand corner of your screen, which will bring up the Charms bar, from here you will need to click on the devices charm. • 3D Collision help

  I'm having difficulties with my project. I'm quite new in XNA. Anyway, I'm trying to make 3D game and I'm already stuck on one basic thing. I have terrain made from a heightmap, and an avatar model. I want to set up some collisions for game so the player won't go through the ground. But I just don't know how to detect collisions for so complex an object. I could just make a simple box collision for my avatar, but what about the ground? I already implemented the JigLibX physics engine in my project and I know that I can make a collision map with heightmap, but I can't find any tutorials or help with this. So how can I set proper collision for complex objects? How can I detect heightmap collisions in JigLibX? Just some links to tutorials would be enough. Thanks in advance!

  How many times have you needed to show a video during a presentation? Using YouTube and PowerPoint, it is now possible. Insert a YouTube Video Into a PowerPoint Presentation in Office 2013 Go ahead and open PowerPoint and switch over to the Insert tab. Then click on Video, and then Online Video… If this is your first time inserting a video from YouTube, you will need to add it as a provider from the bottom left hand side of the dialog. Once added, you will be able to enter a search term. You can then simply select a video and hit the insert button. That’s all there is to it. Remember Videos come with their own set of editing options, so be sure to take a look around.

FATAL: Error running install command for wl (this one is only for the second one actually) I tried the broadcom-sta, didn't work. What's confusing is down below in the next steps for STA with internet access it says to use the bcmwl one. So I install that and it succeeds but with some errors: sudo apt-get install bcmwl-kernel-source Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done The following package was automatically installed and is no longer required: module-assistant Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove it. FATAL: Error running install command for wl Then I do the modprobe wl commands listed above and it gives the above listed errors. It didn't work with the broadcom-sta driver either. I installed the b43 ones but nothing happened, and I don't know why so those are still installed. firmware-b43legacy-installer, b43-fwcutter and firmware-b43-lpphy-installer (yes it is a LP-PHY) are currently installed. If I go into System Settings Software Sources Additional Drivers it says "Using Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA wireless driver source from bcmwl-kernel-source (proprietary) But bcmwl-kernel-source isn't installed. I could try again but I remember rebooting and it still said this. What's funny is it found wireless networks during the Ubuntu setup/installation, I don't remember if I got it to connect or not though. I think it kept asking for a password when I put it in (yes it was right I showed password and looked at it) so I just ignored it. But right now the Enable Wireless option in the top right is just gone, it's just Enable Networking and I'm on ethernet on this HP Pavilion dv4-1435dx right here. If I run rfkill list it shows: 0: hp-wifi: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no It was hard blocked at the beginning but unblocking it makes no change. Also it's a touch sensitive button, and it appears to be always orange no matter if it's enabled or not because when I touch it the hard blocked changes between yes and no in rfkill list. I think it was blue for a minute at one point. What is going on?!?! Help me! Lol, thanks for any and all of your time guys. Oh yeah this is Ubuntu 12.10 fresh install.

  By default Windows 8 only allows you to pin a few file types to the Start Screen. Read on to find out how you can change that by editing the registry. How to Pin Any File to the Start Screen in Windows 8 Press the Win + R keyboard combination to open a run box, then type notepad and press enter. When notepad opens, paste the following into the new document: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\pintostartscreen] “MUIVerb”=”@shell32.dll,-51201″ “NeverDefault”=”" “Description”=”@shell32.dll,-51202″ “MultiSelectModel”=”Single” [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\pintostartscreen\command] “DelegateExecute”=”{470C0EBD-5D73-4d58-9CED-E91E22E23282}” Then click on the File menu item and select save as… Before you go any further, change the Save as type to All Files. When you are prompted about whether you want to continue, click Yes. Now you can pin any file to the Start Screen.   Entering your full password on a touch screen device can really become a pain in the neck, luckily for us we can link a short 4 digit PIN to our user account and log in with that instead. Note: PIN codes are nowhere near as safe as using an alphanumeric password, however, they do still have a purpose when you don’t want to enter your 15 character password on a touch screen device. Creating a PIN Press the Win + I keyboard combination to bring up the Settings Charm, then click on the Change PC settings link. This will open up the Modern UI PC Settings app, where you can click on the Users section. On the right hand side you will see a Create a PIN button, click on it. Now you will need to verify that you are the owner of this user account by entering your password. Then you can choose a PIN, remember that it can only contain digits. • Is there a limit of emails/pictures per Gravatar account?

  I'm building a site to connect patients to doctors. Each doctor will have a profile picture. I'm quite happy to manually maintain the profile pictures as there won't be that many doctors nor will they have a need to change their picture very often, if at all. I thought of using Gravatar to host all these profile pictures. The idea is to create a single Gravatar account then keep adding email addresses to it in the form [email protected] and associating each one with a new image. Does anyone know, however, if I will run into any per-account limit? If so, it wouldn't be feasible because I would end up with a bunch of Gravatar accounts instead of just the one.
