    - by Mido

The servet class is in the appropriate folder (i.e under the package name). I also added the jar files needed in my servlet into lib folder. the web.xml file maps the url and defines the servlet. So i did everything in the documentation and wt people said in here and still getting this error : type Exception report message description The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request. exception javax.servlet.ServletException: Error instantiating servlet class assign1a.RPCServlet org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:108) org.apache.catalina.valves.AccessLogValve.invoke(AccessLogValve.java:558) org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:379) org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11AprProcessor.process(Http11AprProcessor.java:282) org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11AprProtocol$Http11ConnectionHandler.process(Http11AprProtocol.java:357) org.apache.tomcat.util.net.AprEndpoint$SocketProcessor.run(AprEndpoint.java:1687) java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.runTask(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:886) java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:908) java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) root cause java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: assign1a/RPCServlet (wrong name: server/RPCServlet) java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClassCond(ClassLoader.java:632) java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:616) java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(SecureClassLoader.java:141) org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader.findClassInternal(WebappClassLoader.java:2820) org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader.findClass(WebappClassLoader.java:1143) org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader.loadClass(WebappClassLoader.java:1638) org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader.loadClass(WebappClassLoader.java:1516) org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:108) org.apache.catalina.valves.AccessLogValve.invoke(AccessLogValve.java:558) org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:379) org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11AprProcessor.process(Http11AprProcessor.java:282) org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11AprProtocol$Http11ConnectionHandler.process(Http11AprProtocol.java:357) org.apache.tomcat.util.net.AprEndpoint$SocketProcessor.run(AprEndpoint.java:1687) java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.runTask(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:886) java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:908) java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) note The full stack trace of the root cause is available in the Apache Tomcat/7.0.5 logs. • OSGI & Apache Commons-DBCP Classloading Issue

    - by Saul
    I inherited some code that is using the Apache commons-dbcp Connection pools in an OSGi bundle. This code works fine with Eclipse/Equinox OSGi version 3.4.3 (R34x_v20081215), commons-dbcp 1.2.2 and the postgres jdbc3 8.3.603 bundles from springsource.org. I wanted to modernize, maybe this was my first mistake! When I use the new version of Felix or Equinox OSGI Cores with the new postgresql JDBC3 or JDBC4 bundles along with the latest version of commons-dbcp (1.4.1), I am getting a classloading issue. I have done numerous searches and found that the commons-dbcp code should have a fix DBCP-214, but it still seems to fail. I have tried to put the org.postgresql on the commons-dbcp MANIFEST.MF import-package line, but that did not work either. I wrote a simple test in an activator that first does a basic class.forName() and DriverManager.getConnection(), this works fine, but when I add in BasicDataSource() and setup the connection with BasicDataSource.getConnection(), I get the ClassNotFoundException. See the code example below. Thanks in Advance for any help, suggestions, ... Sau! // This one fails with an exception public void dsTest() { BasicDataSource bds = new BasicDataSource(); ClassLoader cl; try { logger.debug("ContextClassLoader: {}", Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().toString()); cl = this.getClass().getClassLoader(); logger.debug("ClassLoader: {}", cl); if (bds.getDriverClassLoader() != null) { logger.debug(bds.getDriverClassLoader().toString()); } // The failure is the same with and with the setDriverClassLoader() line bds.setDriverClassLoader(cl); bds.setDriverClassName("org.postgresql.Driver"); bds.setUrl("jdbc:postgresql://127.0.0.1/dbname"); bds.setUsername("user"); bds.setPassword("pword"); Class.forName("org.postgresql.Driver").newInstance(); conn = bds.getConnection(); Statement st = conn.createStatement(); ResultSet rs = st.executeQuery("SELECT COUNT(*) FROM table"); conn.close(); logger.debug("Closed DataSource Test"); } catch (Exception ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); logger.debug("Exception: {} ", ex.getMessage()); } } // This one works public void managerTest() { ClassLoader cl; try { cl = this.getClass().getClassLoader(); logger.debug("ClassLoader: {}", cl); Class.forName("org.postgresql.Driver").newInstance(); String url = "jdbc:postgresql://127.0.0.1/dbname"; conn = DriverManager.getConnection(url, "user", "pword"); Statement st = conn.createStatement(); ResultSet rs = st.executeQuery("SELECT COUNT(*) FROM table"); conn.close(); logger.debug("Closed Manger Test"); } catch (Exception ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); logger.debug("Exception: {} ", ex.getMessage()); } }

    Hi all, Our professor is making us do some basic programming with java, he gaves a website and everything to register and submit our questions, for today I need to do this one example I feel like I'm on the right track but I just can't figure out the rest .. here is the actualy question : **Sample Input:** 10 12 10 14 100 200 **Sample Output:** 2 4 100 And here is what I've got so far : public class Practice { public static int calculateAnswer(String a, String b) { return (Integer.parseInt(b) - Integer.parseInt(a)); } public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println(calculateAnswer(args[0], args[1])); } } Now I always get the answer 2 because I'm reading the single line, how can I take all lines into account? thank you For some strange reason everytime I want to execute I get this error: C:\sonic>java Practice.class 10 12 Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Fact Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Fact.class at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:20 at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native M at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.jav at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:307 at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher. at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:248 Could not find the main class: Practice.class. However if I run it in eclipse Run as Run Configuration - Program arguments 10 12 10 14 100 200 I get no output EDIT I have made some progress, at first I was getting the compilation error, then runtime error and now I get wrong answer , so can anybody help me what is wrong with this : import java.io.BufferedReader; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.InputStreamReader; import java.math.BigInteger; public class Practice { public static BigInteger calculateAnswer(String a, String b) { BigInteger ab = new BigInteger(a); BigInteger bc = new BigInteger(b); return bc.subtract(ab); } public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException { BufferedReader stdin = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in)); String line; while ((line = stdin.readLine()) != null && line.length()!= 0) { String[] input = line.split(" "); if (input.length == 2) { System.out.println(calculateAnswer(input[0], input[1])); } } } }

  • ClassCastException When Calling an EJB that Exists on Same Server

    - by aaronvargas
    I have 2 ejbs. Ejb-A that calls Ejb-B. They are not in the same Ear. For portability Ejb-B may or may not exist on the same server. (There is an external property file that has the provider URLs of Ejb-B. I have no control over this.) Example Code: in Ejb-A EjbBDelegate delegateB = EjbBDelegateHelper.getRemoteDelegate(); // lookup from list of URLs from props... BookOfMagic bom = delegateB.getSomethingInteresting(); Use Cases/Outcomes: When Ejb-B DOES NOT EXIST on the same server as Ejb-A, everything works correctly. (it round-robbins through the URLs) When Ejb-B DOES EXIST on the same server, and Ejb-A happens to call Ejb-B on the same server, everything works correctly. When Ejb-B DOES EXIST on the same server, and Ejb-A calls Ejb-B on a different server, I get: javax.ejb.EJBException: nested exception is: java.lang.ClassCastException: $Proxy126 java.lang.ClassCastException: $Proxy126 NOTE (not normal use case but may help): When Ejb-B DOES EXIST on the same server, and this server is NOT listed in the provider URLs for Ejb-B, and Ejb-A calls Ejb-B on a different server, I get the same Exception as above. I'm using Weblogic 10.0, Java 5, EJB3 Basically, if Ejb-B Exists on the server, it must be called ONLY on that server. Which leads me to believe that the class is getting loaded by a local classloader (on deployment?), then when called remotely, a different classloader is loading it. (causing the Exception) But it should work, as it should be Serialized into the destination classloader... What am I doing wrong?? Also, when reproducing this locally, Ejb-A would favor the Ejb-B on the same server, so it was difficult to reproduce. But this wasn't the case on other machines.

  • Create 2 connection pools using c3p0 in Jetty

    - by Mike
    Hello, I'm trying to set up a maven web project that runs Jetty. In this project, I need 2 JNDIs... my plan is to configure 2 connection pools using c3p0 in Jetty. So, I created WEB-INF/jetty-env.xml, and I have the following:- <Configure class="org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext"> <New id="ds1" class="org.mortbay.jetty.plus.naming.Resource"> <Arg>jdbc/ds1</Arg> <Arg> <New class="com.mchange.v2.c3p0.ComboPooledDataSource"> // ... JTDS to SQL Server - omitted for brevity </New> </Arg> </New> <New id="ds2" class="org.mortbay.jetty.plus.naming.Resource"> <Arg>jdbc/ds2</Arg> <Arg> <New class="com.mchange.v2.c3p0.ComboPooledDataSource"> // ... JTDS to Sybase - omitted for brevity </New> </Arg> </New> </Configure> When I run jetty, I get this exception:- May 14, 2010 1:16:56 PM com.mchange.v2.c3p0.impl.AbstractPoolBackedDataSource getPoolManager INFO: Initializing c3p0 pool... com.mchange.v2.c3p0.ComboPooledDataSource [ acquireIncrement -> ... ... ... If I remove either one of the connection pool, it worked. What am I doing wrong? How do I create 2 connection pools in Jetty? Thanks much.

  • bash - how to filter java exception info

    - by Michael Mao
    Hi all: We've got a multi-agent Java environment where different agent would most likely produce all sorts of exceptions thrown to stderr. Here is a sample taken from the huge exception log **java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.io.FilePermission ..\tournament\Driver\HotelRoomAnalyser.class read)** at java.security.AccessControlContext.checkPermission(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.checkPermission(Unknown Source) at java.lang.SecurityManager.checkPermission(Unknown Source) at java.lang.SecurityManager.checkRead(Unknown Source) at java.io.File.length(Unknown Source) at emarket.client.EmarketSandbox$SandboxFileLoader.loadClassData(EmarketSandbox.java:218) at emarket.client.EmarketSandbox$SandboxFileLoader.loadClass(EmarketSandbox.java:199) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) **java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.io.FilePermission ..\tournament\Driver\HotelRoomAnalyser.class read)** at java.security.AccessControlContext.checkPermission(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.checkPermission(Unknown Source) at java.lang.SecurityManager.checkPermission(Unknown Source) at java.lang.SecurityManager.checkRead(Unknown Source) at java.io.File.length(Unknown Source) at emarket.client.EmarketSandbox$SandboxFileLoader.loadClassData(EmarketSandbox.java:218) at emarket.client.EmarketSandbox$SandboxFileLoader.loadClass(EmarketSandbox.java:199) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(Unknown Source) at MySmarterAgent.hotelRoomBookings(MySmarterAgent.java:108) fortunately all top-tier exceptions are denoted by no leading spaces, as wrapped by ** above. My concern is to get all of the top-tier exception name (delimited by colon :), together with the first line below which contains something like at emarket.client.EmarketSandbox$SandboxFileLoader.loadClassData(EmarketSandbox.java:218) Basically, something with padded style, starts with "at" and ends with ".java:108" So this info can be forwarded to the owner of that error-prone agent and let him/her fix it. My code in ~/.bashrc is incompleted now : alias startmatch='java -jar "emarket.jar" ../tournament 100'; function geterrors() { startmatch 2>"$1"; a=0; while read line do if true; then a=$(($a+1)); echo $a; fi; done } What it does now is to redirect all stderr to a text file specified by the first argument passed in, and after that, parse that text file line by line, if certain conditions returns true, echo only that line. And I am stuck with what to do inside the loop. Any suggestion is much appreciates, any hint is welcomed.

  • Problem locating file in a classpath

    - by Gandalf StormCrow
    I'm trying to read in file content, ex : public void myMethod(){ FileInputStream fstream = new FileInputStream(fileLocation); // Get the object of DataInputStream DataInputStream in = new DataInputStream(fstream); BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(in)); String strLine; while ((strLine = br.readLine()) != null) { .... .... ..... end while end method And I have at the begining of the class body private String fileLocation; and at the end of a class I have a getter and setter for it. Now I'm trying inject this file location from spring inside bean from this class and I specify the init-method of this class. But I get error cannot find the specified file as if its not on a classpath but it is inside war file? I'm building the project with maven and I put file in src/main/resources This is the error I get when trying to read file : Error: src\main\resources\ids.txt (The system cannot find the path specified) That is when I tried this : FileInputStream fstream = new FileInputStream("src\\main\\resources\\ids.txt"); how to reference the properly from the classpath? EDIT When I edit my code according to @BalusC solution , here is how it looks but I still get null error : ClassLoader classLoader = Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader(); InputStream input = classLoader.getResourceAsStream("src/main/resources/ids.txt"); // Get the object of DataInputStream BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(input)); String strLine; while ((strLine = br.readLine()) != null) { .... .... ..... end while end method

  • GWT RPC and GoDaddy Shared Hosting

    Hi, I've deployed the sample Stock Watcher app to my GoDaddy Hosting site, and I get the error below. I've tried compiling the Project in Eclipse with JRE 1.5 because my Host is using jre 1.5. • Could someone help me debug my app (not very big)?

    Not sure if this kind of help is accepted to ask for here, tell me if it isn't. It has to get done before tomorrow, it's not entirerly finished but it should work somewhat ok by now. I'm trying to use the Eclipse debugger (not very used to it). I have my top-level or main class, which is Game, in which I have a constructor and a main method. In the main method I create a new "Game", initiating the constructor. public static void main(String[] args){ Game chess = new Game(); } public Game(){ Board board = new Board(); That's the first thing the debugger reacts to: Thread [main] (Suspended) ClassNotFoundException(Object).<init>() line: 20 [local variables unavailable] ClassNotFoundException(Throwable).<init>(String, Throwable) line: 217 ClassNotFoundException(Exception).<init>(String, Throwable) line: not available ClassNotFoundException.<init>(String) line: not available URLClassLoader$1.run() line: not available AccessController.doPrivileged(PrivilegedExceptionAction<T>, AccessControlContext) line: not available [native method] Launcher$ExtClassLoader(URLClassLoader).findClass(String) line: not available Launcher$ExtClassLoader.findClass(String) line: not available Launcher$ExtClassLoader(ClassLoader).loadClass(String, boolean) line: not available Launcher$AppClassLoader(ClassLoader).loadClass(String, boolean) line: not available Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(String, boolean) line: not available Launcher$AppClassLoader(ClassLoader).loadClass(String) line: not available Game.<init>() line: 15 Game.main(String[]) line: 11 Line 11 is the one line in my main method, line 15 is the instantiation of "board".
