  • Creating a spin from my installation

    - by LinuxPCplus
Over the last 6 months or so I have tweaked & customized my Ubuntu installation until I have what I feel is a perfect Distro! Now I would like to turn it into a custom Ubuntu spin that can be run either as I live DVD/USB or installed to a users HDD. Is there an "easy" way to do this? I would want to use the standard Ubuntu installer but the distro would have it's own name, so I may need to customize the installer to reflect this.

  • How to write the content of a dictionary to a text file?

    - by codemonkie
I have a dictionary object of type Dictionary and trying to use StreamWriter to output the entire content to a text file but failed to find the correct method from the Dictionary class. using (StreamWriter sw = new StreamWriter("myfile.txt")) { sw.WriteLine(dictionary.First()); } I can only retrieve the first element and it is bounded by a square bracket plus a comma separator in between as well: [Peter, Admin] and would be nice to have [Peter Admin] (without the comma)

  • Improving performance of fuzzy string matching against a dictionary [closed]

    - by Nathan Harmston
Hi, So I'm currently working for with using SecondString for fuzzy string matching, where I have a large dictionary to compare to (with each entry in the dictionary has an associated non-unique identifier). I am currently using a hashMap to store this dictionary. When I want to do fuzzy string matching, I first check to see if the string is in the hashMap and then I iterate through all of the other potential keys, calculating the string similarity and storing the k,v pair/s with the highest similarity. Depending on which dictionary I am using this can take a long time ( 12330 - 1800035 entries ). Is there any way to speed this up or make it faster? I am currently writing a memoization function/table as a way of speeding this up, but can anyone else think of a better way to improve the speed of this? Maybe a different structure or something else I'm missing. Many thanks in advance, Nathan

  • Custom field not showing in Custom Content Type

    - by BeraCim
Hi all: I created a custom column in a custom content type in a Sharepoint Web manually (e.g. /MySite/MyWeb). I now want to programmatically copy this content type across to another web (e.g. /MySite/MyWeb2). However, upon looping through the custom content type in code, I could only find 2 fields: Content Type and Title (expected: Title and custom column). The custom column was missing. I'm very sure that the content type and field are added at the web level. The custom content type is inherited from Item. When I loop through the web's fields, I can see the custom column, and that was copied to the new web. It is only within the content type that the custom column is not showing up. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks.

  • Dictionary looping performance comparison

    - by Shimmy
I have the following 3 options, I believe there are more: For Each entry In Me Next For i = 0 To Count Dim key = Keys(0) Dim value = Values(0) Next For Each Key In Keys Dim value = Me(Key) Next Personally, I think the For Each is best since the GetEnumerator is TKey, TValue based, but I donnu.

  • Dictionary with delegate or swith?

    - by Samvel Siradeghyan
Hi, I am writting a parser, which call some functions dependent on some value. I can implement this logic with simple switch like this swith(some_val) { case 0: func0(); break; case 1: func1(); break; } or with delegates and dictinary like this delegate void some_delegate(); Dictinary some_dictinary = new Dictinary(); some_dictinary[0] = func0; some_dictinary[1] = func1; some_dictinary[some_value].Invoke(); Are this two metods equal and wich is prefered? Thanks.

  • String literals vs constants for Session[...] dictionary keys

    - by FreshCode
Session[Constant] vs Session["String Literal"] Performance I'm retrieving user-specific data like ViewData["CartItems"] = Session["CartItems"]; with a string literal for keys on every request. Should I be using constants for this? If yes, how should I go about implementing frequently used string literals and will it significantly affect performance on a high-traffic site? Related question does not address ASP.NET MVC or Session.

  • Dictionary keys don't contain a key that's already contained in keys

    - by ran
    Why is the following 'exist' boolean variable getting a value of false??? foreach (Cell existCell in this.decoratorByCell.Keys) { //this call yield the same hashcode for both cells. still exist==false bool exist = this.decoratorByCell.ContainsKey(existCell); } I've overridden GetHashCode() & Equals() Methods as follows: public override int GetHashCode() { string nodePath = GetNodePath(); return nodePath.GetHashCode() + m_ownerColumn.GetHashCode(); } public bool Equals(Cell other) { bool nodesEqual = (other.OwnerNode == null && this.OwnerNode == null) || (other.GetNodePath() == this.GetNodePath()); bool columnsEqual = (other.OwnerColumn == null && this.OwnerColumn == null) || (other.OwnerColumn == this.OwnerColumn); bool treesEqual = (this.m_ownerTree == other.m_ownerTree); return (nodesEqual && columnsEqual && treesEqual); }

  • iPhone app throwing EXC_BAD_ACCESS with dictionary from contents of file

    - by Mark Szymanski
I have the code NSArray *paths = [[NSArray alloc] initWithArray:NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSLibraryDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES)]; NSString *docsDirectory = [[NSString alloc] initWithString:[paths objectAtIndex:0]]; NSLog(@"This app's documents directory: %@",docsDirectory); NSString *docsDirectoryWithPlist = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@"%@/Stuff.plist", docsDirectory]; BOOL fileExists = [[NSFileManager defaultManager] fileExistsAtPath:docsDirectoryWithPlist isDirectory:NO]; if (fileExists) { chdir([docsDirectory UTF8String]); NSMutableDictionary *readDict = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] initWithContentsOfFile:@"Stuff.plist"]; in an application's applicationDidFinishLaunching method and whenever it gets to the last line it crashes, throwing EXC_BAD_ACCESS along the way. Thanks in advance!

  • How to map a Dictionary<string, string> spanning several tables

    - by Kim Johansson
I have four tables: CREATE TABLE [Languages] ( [Id] INTEGER IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [Code] NVARCHAR(10) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY ([Id]), UNIQUE INDEX ([Code]) ); CREATE TABLE [Words] ( [Id] INTEGER IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY ([Id]) ); CREATE TABLE [WordTranslations] ( [Id] INTEGER IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [Value] NVARCHAR(100) NOT NULL, [Word] INTEGER NOT NULL, [Language] INTEGER NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY ([Id]), FOREIGN KEY ([Word]) REFERENCES [Words] ([Id]), FOREIGN KEY ([Language]) REFERENCES [Languages] ([Id]) ); CREATE TABLE [Categories] ( [Id] INTEGER IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [Word] INTEGER NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY ([Id]), FOREIGN KEY ([Word]) REFERENCES [Words] ([Id]) ); So you get the name of a Category via the Word - WordTranslation - Language relations. Like this: SELECT TOP 1 wt.Value FROM [Categories] AS c LEFT JOIN [WordTranslations] AS wt ON c.Word = wt.Word WHERE wt.Language = ( SELECT TOP 1 l.Id FROM [Languages] WHERE l.[Code] = N'en-US' ) AND c.Id = 1; That would return the en-US translation of the Category with Id = 1. My question is how to map this using the following class: public class Category { public virtual int Id { get; set; } public virtual IDictionary<string, string> Translations { get; set; } } Getting the same as the SQL query above would be: Category category = session.Get<Category>(1); string name = category.Translations["en-US"]; And "name" would now contain the Category's name in en-US. Category is mapped against the Categories table. How would you do this and is it even possible?

  • Need sorted dictionary designed to find values with keys less or greater than search value

    - by Captain Comic
Hi I need to have objects sorted by price (decimal) value for fast access. I need to be able to find all objects with price more then A or less than B. I was thinkg about SortedList, but it does not provide a way to find ascending or descending enumerator starting from given key value (say give me all objects with price less than $120). Think of a system that accepts items for sell from users and stores them into that collection. Another users want to find items cheaper than $120. Basically what i need is tree-based collection and functionality to find node that is smaller\greater\equal to provided key. Please advice.

Like getting 200, 140, such like that. result.cal = calorie in dict(CALORIES[1])

  • Shell halts while looping and 'transforming' values in dictionary (Python 2.7.5)

    - by Gus
I'm building a program that will sum digits in a given list in a recursive way. Say, if the source list has 10 elements, the second list will have 9, the third 8 and so on until the last list that will have only one element. This is done by adding the first element to the second, then the second to the third and so on. I'm stuck without feedback from the shell. It halts without throwing any errors, then in a couple of seconds the fan is spinning like crazy. I've read quite a few posts here and changed my approach, but I'm not sure that what have so far can produce the results I'm looking for. Thanks in advance: #--------------------------------------------------- #functions #--------------------------------------------------- #sum up pairs in a list def reduce(inputList): i = 0 while (i < len(inputList)): #ref to current and next item j = i + 1 #don't go for the last item if j != len(inputList): #new number eq current + next number newNumber = inputList[i] + inputList[j] if newNumber >= 10: #reduce newNumber to single digit newNumber = sum(map(int, str(newNumber))) #collect into temp list outputList.append(newNumber) i = i + 1 return outputList; #--------------------------------------------------- #program starts here #--------------------------------------------------- outputList = [] sourceList = [7, 3, 1, 2, 1, 4, 6] counter = len(sourceList) dict = {} dict[0] = sourceList print '-------------' print 'Level 0:', dict[0] for i in range(counter): j = i + 1 if j != counter: baseList = dict.get(i) #check function to understand what it does newList = reduce(baseList) #new key and value from previous/transformed value dict[j] = newList print 'Level %d: %s' % (j, dict[j])

  • Webhosting with custom database choice [closed]

    - by churchill614
Possible Duplicate: How to find web hosting that meets my requirements? I am trying to find somewhere to host a website which uses OrientDB as its database. My budget doesn't stretch to a dedicated server where I can configure everything as I need it. Rather, I am hoping to find somewhere, ideally UK based, that will allow me to install/install for me OrientDB on their server, that is of the normal shared server variety. Is anybody able to point me in a good direction for this please (whilst UK is preferable it is not essential)?

  • hardy alternate cd customization and ubuntu-keyring-udeb

    - by gokul
I have been trying to customize Ubuntu 8.04 (hardy heron) alternate install cd. I have followed the community documentation at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/InstallCDCustomization#Generating_a_new_ubuntu-keyring_.deb_to_sign_your_CD to rebuild the ubuntu-keyring packages. But when the media boots I get a warning: anna[7581]: WARNING **: bad md5sum. Though I have not been able to confirm that the message is for the ubunu-keyring-udeb package, the nearest debconf Adding [package] message is for ubuntu-keyring-udeb. This is followed by: INPUT critical retriever/cdrom/error. This message is already from syslog. I don't think dpkg.log will help in this case. I have tried modifying the md5sum file within the source package manually and signing it with my own public key, before building it. But that has not helped either. How do get the installer to work in this scenario? Alternatively, can I customize the contents of Ubuntu8.04 without signing anything?

  • How to convert aspell dictionary to simple list of words?

    - by rafalmag
I want to get list of all words from aspell dictionary. I downloaded aspell and aspell polish dictionary, then unziped it using: preunzip pl.cwl I got pl.wl: ... hippie hippies hippiesowski/bXxYc hippika/MNn hippis/NOqsT hippisiara/MnN hippiska/mMN hippisowski/bXxYc ... but they appear with sufix like /bXxYc or /MNn. These suffixes are defined in pl_affix.dat, which looks like ... SFX n Y 5 SFX n a 0 [^ij]a SFX n ja yj [^aeijoóuy]ja SFX n a 0 [aeijoóuy]ja SFX n ia ij [^drt]ia SFX n ia yj [drt]ia ... It is connected to the declination and conjugation. How can I add to the first list all forms (with all corresponding suffixes as defined in .dat file ) ? BTW: I need this list to spell-checker jazzy.

  • Executing Custom Actions immediately in WIX

    - by jbloomer
Is there any way to execute a custom action in WIX as soon as the first dialog (welcome) appears? The requirement is to check prerequisites, and some of those require a custom action. The custom action could be executed as we click to the next dialog, but then the standard WIX prereqs are determined apart from our custom prereq. (The custom action we need is to check that IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility is turned on and a registry search does not work on x64 machines with a 32-bit installer)

  • Why can't I define a case-insensitve Dictionary in C#?

    - by Edward Tanguay
This WPF code: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Controls; using System.Windows.Data; using System.Windows.Documents; using System.Windows.Input; using System.Windows.Media; using System.Windows.Media.Imaging; using System.Windows.Navigation; using System.Windows.Shapes; namespace TestDict28342343 { public partial class Window1 : Window { public Window1() { InitializeComponent(); Dictionary<string, string> variableNamesAndValues = new Dictionary<string, string>(StringComparison.InvariantCultureIgnoreCase); } } } gives me the error: The best overloaded method match for 'System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary.Dictionary(System.Collections.Generic.IDictionary)' has some invalid arguments Yet I find this code example everywhere such as here and here. How can I define a Dictionary whose keys are case-insensitve?
