Hello, I have jquery tabs like <ul id="tabsList"> <li><a href="#tab-1">Name 1</a></li> <li><a href="#tab-2">Name 2</a></li> <li><a href="http://www.google.com/">Name 3</a></li> </ul> <div id="tab-1">content 1</div> <div id="tab-2">content 2</div> the first two tabs load the respective divs. But the third one should go to google.com, instead it does nothing. It just adds http://example.com/index.html#ui-tabs-[object Object] to the url. I am developing a wordpress plugin and the admin page needs a tab interface. I tested this in a local server and not working update: i don't want to load google.com inside the page. It should open the webpage in new tab/window like ordinary links do.

JQuery UI Tabs - "Loading..." message

All, I am using Jquery UI nested tabs. I was just wondering if there is any way to display an AJAX Spinner image next to the tab text, while the tab is loading. I do not want to change the tab text to "Loading..". Consider that when multiple tabs are loading at the same time or one after the other, the spinner image should be displayed next to each loading tab.. Any Suggestions? Thanks

jQuery ajax not preloading images

I have a list of galleries, when you click on the title of a gallery it pulls in the contents (HTML with images). When the content is pulled in it preloads the html but not the images, any ideas? Setting Tab Order on UI Elements in jQuery Dialog

Is there a way to specify the tab order of the elements within a jQuery Dialog which itself contains an Accordion? The dialog also specifies one button in the buttons options. For accessibility, we need to be able to tab through the accordion panes, the form elements in each accordion, the button in the buttons options, and the close icon of the dialog itself, but tabbing seems to be skipping over the button in the buttons options, and I can't find any resource that has a resolution for this sort of problem.

High Server Load cannot figure out why

The sites that we're hosting are taking a lot time to respond and resolve. top doesn't show anything out of the ordinary and iftop doesn't show a lot of traffic. NGINX load balancer DOS itself

I have been running a load balancing machine for a number of months now which has had no problems in the past. I got woken up to some downtime and I am seeing this a lot in syslog: TCP: Possible SYN flooding on port 80. Sending cookies. At which point Nginx takes up 100% of the cpu and doesn't come back down to normal for several minutes. I have it running on Ubuntu currently but I also was able to replicate on Debian 6.

Working on a jQuery plugin : viewport simulator

Hi community, i'm working on a jQuery plugin that's aiming to simulate one axis camera movements. The first step to achieving this is simple : use conventional, clean markup, and get the prototype to work. My clone uses the original background image to then animate it.fade it to black/white. But when you clik on an element, image url is found, but doesn't seem to be injected. Do you see anything ? Finally, about animation of elements : as you can see in source code, I'm using the container $('#wrapper') to position all animated children. jQuery .load() and sub-pages

Hi, I am not just a newbie with Javascript. I am developing a simple site to get my hands on web programming. The web site is simple and structure is like this: A simple ul/li/css based navigation menu Sub pages are loaded in "div" using jQuery, when ever user click appropriate menu item. Some of the sub-pages are using different jQuery based plugins such as LightWindow, jTip etc. The jQuery function that loads the sub-page is like this: function loadContent(htmlfile){ jQuery("#content").load(htmlfile); }; The menu items fires loadContent method like this: <li><a href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="loadContent('overview.html');return false">overview</a></li> This loads a sub-page name "overview.html" inside the "div". That's it. Now this is working fine but some of the sub-pages using jQuery based plugins are not working well when loaded inside the "div". If you load them individually in the browser they are working fine. Based on above I have few qustions: Most of the plugins are based on jQuery and sub-pages are loaded inside the "index.html" using "loadContent" function. Do I have to call <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script> on each and every sub-page? If a page is using a custom jQuery plugin, then where do I call it? In "index.html" or on the page where I am using it? I think what ever script you will call in "index.html", you don't to have call them again in any of the sub pages you are using. Am I right here? JQUERY UI Accordion Resize on Window Resize?

I'm using the JQUERY UI Accordion module: <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $("#sidebar_column_accordion").accordion({ fillSpace: true, icons: { 'header': 'ui-icon-plus', 'headerSelected': 'ui-icon-minus' } }); }); </script> By using the fillSpace option, the accordion takes up the entire height of the window which I want. Problem is it calculate the height on page load, and if the user resizes their browser, it does not adjust... Is there a way to have the accordion recalculate the height/size when the browser window is resized? Thanks

jQuery Sortable - Limit number of items in list.

I have a schedule table I'm using jQuiry Sortable for editing. Each day is a UL, and each event is an LI. My jQuery is: $("#colSun, #colMon, #colTue, #colWed, #colThu").sortable({ connectWith: '.timePieces', items: 'li:not(.lith)' }).disableSelection(); To make all LI's sortable except those with class "lith" (day names). User can drag an event from day to day, or add new events by clicking a button, which appends a new dragable event (LI) to the fist UL (Sunday). I want to make each day accept only up to 10 events. Is it possible to add icons to the buttons on a jQuery UI Dialog? I've tried doing it this way: $("#DeleteDialog").dialog({ resizable: false, height:150, modal: true, buttons: { 'Delete': function() { /* Do stuff */ $(this).dialog('close'); }, Cancel: function() { $(this).dialog('close'); } }, open: function() { $('.ui-dialog-buttonpane').find('button:contains("Cancel")').addClass('ui-icon-cancel'); $('.ui-dialog-buttonpane').find('button:contains("Delete")').addClass('ui-icon-trash'); } }); The selectors in the open function seem to be working fine. If I add the following to "open": $('.ui-dialog-buttonpane').find('button:contains("Delete")').css('color', 'red'); then I do get a Delete button with red text. That's not bad, but I'd really like that little trash can sprite on the Delete button as well.

jquery ui autocomplete is changing my listbox

I am trying to change my comboboxes to use autocomplete so i leverage the code listed here (which worked perfectly for my dropdowns) The issue is that i also on the same page have a listbox with the following code: <%= Html.ListBox("Cars", Model.BodyParts.Select( x => new SelectListItem { Text = x.Name, Value = x.Id, Selected = Model.CarsSelected.Any(y => y.Id == x.Id) } ))%> and it appears that the jquery ui code is changing this to a autocomplete dropdown as well (as opposed to keeping it as a multi select list box) any idea how to prevent this from happening?

Update JQuery Progressbar with JSON Response in an ajax Request

All, I have an AJAX request, which makes a JSON request to a server, to get the sync status. The JSON Request and responses are as under: I want to display a JQuery UI progressbar and update the progressbar status, as per the percentage returned in the getStatus JSON response. If the status is "insync", then the progressbar should not appear and a message should be displayed instead. Ex: "Server is in Sync". JQuery dirtyForm not working on text boxes in ajaxToolkit:TabPanel

I'm a newb to jQ so please forgive my ignorance. I'm using Asa Wilson's plugin jquery.dirtyform.js to prompt a user of unsaved changes before they nav away from a page (ASP.Net C# 3.5). It basically loops through all controls and appends a class and handler to each input. Controls w/i an ajaxToolkit:TabPanel are ignored, unfortunately. I'd appreciate if anyone knows of this type of error and how to resolve it short of manually manipulating each control (as I have this logic in the master page). Thank you.

Hi designers/developers, I am looking for a way of graphically showing a countdown. I am working for a large Hospital and have written an Ambulance page that shows ambulance arriving in a datagrid with the time of arriving at the hospital in minutes and seconds (plus other info). They have asked me for somehow visually representing the information, so it fits with there other visually appealing Emergency Department web application (e.g. progress bar or something better): 1) Can somebody show me (visually appealing) design examples on how this could be done 2) Are there solutions in .Net (ASP.net or JQuery or Javascript) since this is our preferred technology Thanks so much!

Jquery UI Slider focus issue

I have a problem with the jQuery UI Slider. The issue also appears on the demo. It is more obvious in Chrome - if you go to http://jqueryui.com/demos/slider/#steps and slide the slider, you'll not see anything wrong. If you then click "New Window" or go to (http://jqueryui.com/demos/slider/steps.html) to view the demo in a new window and try sliding the slider, you'll see the handle of the slider gets a focus box around it during dragging. I am having this problem and I cannot seem to fix it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

How to stop SWF inside of a jQuery UI tab from reloading

I have a SWF movie inside of a jQuery UI tab, and the problem I'm having is that the SWF gets reloaded everytime I click away from the tab, onto another tab, and then click back. I can inspect the DOM and see that the div containing the SWF is still in the DOM when I click away, so I don't know why this it seems to reload it when I click back to the tab. I added the following CSS rules to try to prevent the display being set to: none, but the Flash movie is still reloading: .ui-tabs .ui-tabs-hide { display: block !important; position: absolute; left: -10000px; }
