  • undesirable cropping of Label that has been rotated 90 degrees

    - by 108980470541437452574
Hello, I am creating 2 columns. left column will show caption of the DataGrid which will be in right column. <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="20" /> <ColumnDefinition /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Label Grid.Column="0" Name="FilterLabel"> <Label.RenderTransform> <TransformGroup> <RotateTransform Angle="-90" /> </TransformGroup> </Label.RenderTransform> </Label> the problem here is that the lable gets rendered horizontally first, and cropped at 20 pixels. So after it has been rotated, only first few letters appear rendered in left column. as soon as i make the left column wider, more letters get rendered.

  • How to align all fields as label width grows

    - by TheCloudlessSky
I have a form where the labels are on the left and the fields on the right. This layout works great when the labels have small amounts of text. I can easily set a min-width on the labels to ensure they all have the same distance to the fields. In the first picture below, this works as expected. A problem arises when the label's text becomes too long, it'll either overflow to the next line or push the field on the same line over to the left (as seen in picture 2). This doesn't push the other labels so it is left with a "jagged" look. Ideally, it should like to style it as picture 3 with something like the following markup: <fieldset> <label>Name</label><input type="text" /><br /> <label>Username</label><input type="text" /> </fieldset> I created a jsFiddle to show the issue. Of course, the easy cross-browser way to solve this would be to use tables. That just creates tag-hell for something that should be so simple. Note: this does not need to support IE6.

  • Repositioning a label with mouseevents to anywhere on the screen

    - by user2947295
I've created a label and used setPixmap to attach a .png image to the label. I've also setWindowFlags to disable the title bar and create a frameless window. Because I've disabled those, it also disables the ability to drag anything around, so I want to create mouseevents (unless there's a better method) to position my label anywhere on the screen exactly like dragging the frame of a window. How would I do that? An example and brief explanation would be greatly appreciated.

  • Sync Gmail label with Outlook folder

    - by Prashant
I am using Outlook 2011 with gmail. I moved to Outlook 2011 recently. Before that I was using web mail. When I moved to Outlook recently, I got all my labels with the emails. But now when I go the web mail and create a label, it does not come up as a folder in Outlook 2011. Similarly if i delete a label from Gmail, it does not come up in Outlook 2011. PS - I used this link to set up my Outlook 2011 - http://www.macstories.net/tutorials/how-to-wrangle-outlook-2011-to-work-with-gmail/

  • Inline form fields with labels placed on top

    - by rcourtna
    I can't believe I'm having to ask this, but I'm at my wit's end. I'm trying to display 2 form fields inline, but with the label for each field on the top. In ascii art: Label 1 Label 2 --------- --------- | | | | --------- --------- Should be pretty simple. <label for=foo>Label 1</label> <input type=text name=foo id=foo /> <label for=bar>Label 2</label> <input type=text name=bar id=bar /> This will get me: --------- --------- Label 1 | | Label 2 | | --------- --------- To get the labels on top of the boxes, I add display=block: <label for=foo style="display:block">Label 1</label> <input type=text name=foo id=foo /> <label for=bar style="display:block">Label 2</label> <input type=text name=bar id=bar /> After I do this, the labels are where I want them, but the form fields are no longer inline: Label 1 --------- | | --------- Label 2 --------- | | --------- I've been unable to find a way to wrap my html so the fields display inline. Can anyone help?

  • avoid dupllcate copies in thunderbird when using gmail labels

    - by mandy
I like the system of multiple gmail labels but am concerned about space used. I think that TB stores a separate copy of the whole email in every folder corresponding to a gmail label [including a copy in the "allmail" folder along with a separate copy in the each of the other folders]. Can I arrange to store a single copy of the email in TB,[perhaps in the allmail folder] with a shortcut type pointer from the individual folders to that single copy.[i.e for every email with one gmail label [eg personal] there are already 2 copies in TB, one in the allmail folder and a second in the "personal" folder

  • WPF designer gives exception when databinding a label to a checkbox

    - by John
I'm sure it's something stupid, but I'm playing around with databinding. I have a checkbox and a label on a form. What I'm trying to do is simply bind the Content of the label to the checkbox's IsChecked value. What I've done runs fine (no compilation errors and acts as expected), but if I touch the label in the XAML, the designer trows an exception: System.NullReferenceException Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at MS.Internal.Designer.PropertyEditing.Editors.MarkupExtensionInlineEditorControl.BuildBindingString(Boolean modeSupported, PropertyEntry propertyEntry) at <Window x:Class="UnitTestHelper.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:FileSysCtls="clr-namespace:WPFFileSystemUserControls;assembly=WPFFileSystemUserControls" xmlns:HelperClasses="clr-namespace:UnitTestHelper" Title="MainWindow" Height="406" Width="531"> <Window.Resources> <HelperClasses:ThreestateToBinary x:Key="CheckConverter" /> </Window.Resources> <Grid Height="367" Width="509"> <CheckBox Content="Step into subfolders" Height="16" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="17,254,0,0" Name="chkSubfolders" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="130" IsThreeState="False" /> <Label Height="28" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="376,254,0,0" Name="lblStepResult" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="120" IsEnabled="True" Content="{Binding IsChecked, ElementName=chkSubfolders, Mode=OneWay, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged, Converter={StaticResource CheckConverter}}" /> </Grid> The ThreeStateToBinary class is as follows: class ThreestateToBinary : IValueConverter { #region IValueConverter Members public object Convert(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) { if ((bool)value) return "Checked"; else return "Not checked"; //throw new NotImplementedException(); } public object ConvertBack(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) { return ((string)value == "Checked"); //throw new NotImplementedException(); } #endregion } Quite honestly, I'm playing around with it at this point. It was originally simpler (not using the ValueConverter) but was displaying similar behavior when I simply had the content set to: Content="{Binding IsChecked, ElementName=chkSubfolders, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" Any ideas? Thanks, John

  • Flex: embedded fonts not being applied correctly in Label and DataGrid

    - by lje
Folks, I am observing a problem with how an embedded font is applied to certain Flex components, namely mx:Label and mx:DataGrid. I have a CSS that declares three variations on an embedded font as follows: @font-face { src:url("buttons.swf"); font-family: "Arial"; } @font-face { src:url("buttons.swf"); font-family: "Arial"; font-weight: bold; } @font-face { src:url("buttons.swf"); font-family: "Arial"; font-style: italic; } And in the style declaration for Label and DataGrid, I have: Label { fontFamily: "Arial"; fontSize: 11; fontFamily: LucidaSans; } and DataGrid { fontFamily: "Arial"; height: 16; } (I've snipped some stuff from both style rules, so if you think there's something that may be causing a conflict I can certainly post the entire definition. It's mostly color, line and padding stuff for the DataGrid.) The problem that is for both Label and cells in the DataGrid the text is being rendered as sort of a times new roman font. The headers in the DataGrid are fine, just the text in the cells is wonky. All other components use the correct font as defined in the CSS/SWF. Any ideas why this is happening?

  • emacs public/protected/private label indentation of C++ header file not working for zero offset

    - by murrekatt
I cannot get zero offset for some things for my C++ header files in emacs even if I have it defined in my .emacs file. The header file below shows a class definition inside two namespaces and most importantly the public keyword I would like to have with zero offset like below. namespace n1 { namespace n2 { class SomeClass { public: // this line with zero offset SomeClass(); ... }; } // n2 } // n2 In my .emacs file I have added label like this: (c-set-offset 'label 0) I used Ctrl-C Ctrl-S to find out what to modify. Other offsets I have defined in the .emacs file are working fine and also values other than 0 work for label. When I set offset 0 for label it turns out to be 1 when hitting tab for that line. This is strange and looks like something else is overriding or adding a minimum of 1. Can anyone explain how I can achieve what I want and maybe also an explanation what is happening currently? Phew, this was my first question here. Thanks :)

  • Clickable label not working in IE 8

    - by coffeeaddict
I've got the following list item: <li> <input value="someRadioButton" name="ctl00$mainContent$group" type="radio" id="ctl00_mainContent_somelRadioButton" onclick="showSomeInfo()" /> <label for="ctl00_mainContent_someRadioButton"><img class="extraPadding-Right-10" src="https://xxy.com/some_mark_37x23.gif" /></label> </li> So what shows up is a radio button and an image next to it. When I am in FireFox, Chrome, and Safari clicking on that image fires the showSomeInfo() that's specified in the radio's onclick. I'm not sure why I guess because it's wrapped in a label and that label is relating to that radio button.... But anyway that's not my problem. I like that when you click the image, that javascript method showSomeInfo() is called. But the problem is that it works in all browsers except IE 8. If I open this page in IE 8, clicking on the image does nothing and I'm not sure why. I'm baffled at this one.

  • Fields_for dynamic label

    - by sebajb
I have dynamic form which has a set of values. I created a partial which contains text fields which I display. Next to each of them I would like to display a label containing the title of the text. For instance First Name, and Last Name would not be known previously. How do I go about doing that? It seems that I cannot access the attributes directly. But when I use the label field, the variable name in the label is displayed not the actual value.

  • C#: Graphics DrawString to Exactly Place Text on a System.Label

    - by jp2code
I have overridden the OnPaint method of my Label control in VS2008: void Label_OnPaint(object sender, PaintEventArgs e) { base.OnPaint(e); Label lbl = sender as Label; if (lbl != null) { string Text = lbl.Text; e.Graphics.SmoothingMode = System.Drawing.Drawing2D.SmoothingMode.AntiAlias; if (myShowShadow) { // draw the shadow first! e.Graphics.DrawString(Text, lbl.Font, new SolidBrush(myShadowColor), myShadowOffset, StringFormat.GenericDefault); } e.Graphics.DrawString(Text, lbl.Font, new SolidBrush(lbl.ForeColor), 0, 0, StringFormat.GenericDefault); } } This works, but I really want to find out how to center the text both vertically and horizontally. I've heard of the MeasureString() method, but my "Text" complicates matters because it could include page breaks. Could someone guide me with how to do this?

  • Html helper to show display name attribute without label

    - by Pedre
I have this: [Display(Name = "Empresa")] public string Company{ get; set; } In my aspx I have: <th><%: Html.LabelFor(model => model.Company)%></th> And this generates: <th><label for="Company">Empresa</label></th> Are there any html helper extensions to only show the display attribute without label, only plain text? My desired output is this: <th>Empresa</th> Thanks! EDIT I tried DisplayFor or DisplayTextFor as suggested, but they are not valid because they generate: <th>Amazon</th> They return the value of the property... I want the name from the Display attribute.

  • WPF: Aligning the base line of a Label and its TextBox

    - by Heinzi
Let's say I have a simple TextBox next to a Label: <StackPanel> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <Label Margin="3">MyLabel</Label> <TextBox Margin="3" Width="100">MyText</TextBox> </StackPanel> ... </StackPanel> This yields the following result: As you can see, the base lines of MyLabel and MyText are not aligned, which looks ugly. Of course, I could start playing around with the margins until they match up, but since this is such a common requirement I'm sure that WPF provides a much easier and more elegant solution, which I just haven't found yet...

  • Put text input inside label for radio button?

    - by Martijn
I'm trying to make a radio group specifying a bunch of options, and an extra option "other" with a text input to specify. The code for this particular radio button I'm using is <input type='radio' name='RadioInput' value='Other' id='RadioInput_Other' /> <label for='RadioInput_Other'>Ohter: <input type='text' name='RadioInput_Other_Value' id='RadioInput_Other_Value' value='' /> </label> The idea is that if you give focus to the text input, the radio button corresponding to it is selected. The code above almost does this (since the text input is inside the label). However, it also shifts focus to the radio button (which is annoying, since whatever you type next is lost). Is there any way to prevent this using XHTML1.0 / CSS2? Preferably without using javascript.

  • How to align centre a custom label in highcharts

    - by Chrissy
See a jsfiddle example I am trying to align the custom label in the /labels/items JSON element to hang right under the title and subtitle. Playing with firebug I can alter the SVG text element for the label and add text-align='middle' and change the x='' attribute to have the same value as the title's x attribute. This makes it perfectly align under the title and stay there when resized but I can't figure out how to make the highcharts library generate this source. Maybe there is a better way to add another label under the subtitle?

  • How to hide a label for="x01" Checkbox using jQuery

    - by tonsils
Hi, I am attempting to hide this checkbox, which is a check all checkbox in my table header, using jQuery but am not having much luck. The view source of the section I am trying to hide from the user is as follows: <th class="t12subheader" id="CHECK$01"><label for="x01" class="hideMe508">Check All</label><input type="checkbox" name="x02" value="1" onclick="checkAll(this)" /></th> I have tried both: $('#x01, label[for="x01"]').hide (); & $('#x01').hide (); to no avail. Any help using jQuery would be appreciated. Also, does it matter the positioning of hiding this chckbox? Thanks.

  • How to get arc4Sin() output into label/NSString

    - by Moshe
I'm trying to take the output of arc4sin and put it into a label. (EDIT: You can ignore this and just post sample code, if this is too irrelevant.) I've tried: // Implement viewDidLoad to do additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib. - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; NSString *number = [[NSString alloc] stringWithFormat: @"%@", arc4random() % 9]; label.text = number; } I've created an IBOutlet for "label" and connected it. What's wrong here?
