    - by amok
Hello there - I create a new project using splitview template (iPad). So far so good. What I am trying to accomplish now it have my own view (which in a NIB) in popupview controller. By default the template provides the table which I don't want to use. How can I do that?

  • iPhone SDK: Why is my view not lining up?

    - by iPhone Developer
When I run my app, for some reason the view is pushed up too far. The space it is pushed up too far appears to be the height of the status bar. ( I am using a NIB. I have verified that both MainWindow and this view has the simulated status bar checked. I'm not sure what could be wrong? Any help appreciated.

  • Display different iphone views depending on logged in status

    - by user330936
I want to display a login view to my users if they are not logged in and the main view if they are. In my header file I define a variable to hold the logged in status #define loggedIn 0 I figure I should then reference this in the initWithNibName method and then decide which nib to load. Is the right way of doing it? If so can someone help me out with the exact code? Thanks for any help

  • Lenovo t400 laptop docking station with DVI out shows green artifacts when connected to monitor

    - by Roy Rico
I have a Lenovo T400 laptop, with Windows XP. I have a docking station connected via DVI to my Samnsung monitor. I'm connected at 1920x1200 resolution and I keep seeing all these green dots (when colors are supposed to be near black). It's really bad. I have tried running on my Samsung monitor, at all sizes, even down town 1280x1024 like my monitors at work. When I use the docking station at work, I am able to connect 2 1280x1024 NEC monitors (one via DVI, one through VGA, both through my docking station). I have absolutely no issue there, both displays work great. I have tried to update the drivers, I've even installed the latest video drivers from lenovo's site (DEC-02-2010). Is anyone familiar with this issue? Details: Docking Station: Lenovo Advanced Mini Dock- 250410U - NIB Montior at home: Samsung T240 24-inch monitor Monitors at work: NEC monitors

  • Why does my UIWebView not Allow User Interaction?

    - by thomasmcgee
Hi, I'm new to these forums so I apologize for my noobieness. I did as thorough a search as I could, but I couldn't find anyone else with this issue, applogise if this has been covered elsewhere. I've created a very simple example of my problem. I'm sure I'm missing something but I can't for the life of me figure out what. I'm creating a UIWebView and adding it to a custom view controller that inherits from UIViewController. When the app loads in the iPad simulator, the uiwebview loads the desired page, but the UIWebView is entirely unresponsive. The webview does not pan or scroll and none of the in page links can be clicked. However, if you change the orientation of the webview suddleny everything works. Thanks in advance for your help!! AppDelegate header #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "EditorViewController.h" @interface FixEditorTestAppDelegate : NSObject <UIApplicationDelegate> { UIWindow *window; EditorViewController *editorView; } @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIWindow *window; @property (nonatomic, retain) EditorViewController *editorView; @end AppDelegate Implementation #import "FixEditorTestAppDelegate.h" #import "EditorViewController.h" @implementation FixEditorTestAppDelegate @synthesize window; @synthesize editorView; - (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions { NSLog(@"application is loading"); editorView = [[EditorViewController alloc] init]; [window addSubview:[editorView view]]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; return YES; } - (void)dealloc { [window release]; [editorView release]; [super dealloc]; } @end View Controller header #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface EditorViewController : UIViewController <UIWebViewDelegate> { UIWebView *webView; } @property (nonatomic, retain) UIWebView *webView; @end View Controller Implementation #import "EditorViewController.h" @implementation EditorViewController @synthesize webView; /* // The designated initializer. • TBXML parsing issue while the value cannot get in UILabel

    - by Dany
    In my app I'm using TBXML parser where I need to get a value from xml file and print it on the label. This is my xml file in server <gold> <price> <title>22 K Gold</title> </price> <price> <title>24 K Gold</title> </price> </gold> any my Viewcontroller.h looks like #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "TBXML.h" @interface ViewController : UIViewController{ IBOutlet UILabel *lab; IBOutlet UILabel *lab1; TBXML *tbxml; } @end and my Viewcontrooler.m looks like - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; // Do any additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib. NSData *xmlData = [[NSData alloc]initWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://www.abcde.com/sample.xml"]]; tbxml = [[TBXML alloc]initWithXMLData:xmlData]; TBXMLElement * root = tbxml.rootXMLElement; if (root) { TBXMLElement * elem_PLANT = [TBXML childElementNamed:@"price" parentElement:root]; while (elem_PLANT !=nil) { TBXMLElement * elem_BOTANICAL = [TBXML childElementNamed:@"title" parentElement:elem_PLANT]; NSString *botanicalName = [TBXML textForElement:elem_BOTANICAL]; lab.text=[NSString stringWithFormat:@"re %@", botanicalName]; elem_PLANT = [TBXML nextSiblingNamed:@"price" searchFromElement:elem_PLANT]; elem_BOTANICAL = [TBXML childElementNamed:@"title" parentElement:elem_PLANT]; botanicalName = [TBXML textForElement:elem_BOTANICAL]; lab1.text=[NSString stringWithFormat:@"re %@", botanicalName]; } } } I'm getting BAD_ACCESS thread. Am I missing anything?

  • UITextView doesn't not resize when keyboard appear if loaded from a tab bar cotroller

    - by elio.d
    I have a simple view controller (SecondViewController) used to manage a UITextview (I'm building a simple editor) this is the code of the SecondViewController.h @interface SecondViewController : UIViewController { IBOutlet UITextView *textView; } @property (nonatomic,retain) IBOutlet UITextView *textView; @end and this is the SecondViewController.m // // EditorViewController.m // Editor // // Created by elio d'antoni on 13/01/11. // Copyright 2011 none. All rights reserved. // @implementation SecondViewController @synthesize textView; /* // Implement loadView to create a view hierarchy programmatically, without using a nib. - (void)loadView { } */ // Implement viewDidLoad to do additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib. - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; self.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithPatternImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"uiViewBg.png"]]; textView.layer.borderWidth=1; textView.layer.cornerRadius=5; textView.layer.borderColor=[[UIColor darkGrayColor] CGColor]; [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(keyboardWillAppear:) name:UIKeyboardWillShowNotification object:nil]; [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(keyboardWillDisappear:) name:UIKeyboardWillHideNotification object:nil]; } -(void) matchAnimationTo:(NSDictionary *) userInfo { NSLog(@"match animation method"); [UIView setAnimationDuration:[[userInfo objectForKey:UIKeyboardAnimationDurationUserInfoKey] doubleValue]]; [UIView setAnimationCurve:[[userInfo objectForKey:UIKeyboardAnimationCurveUserInfoKey] intValue]]; } -(CGFloat) keyboardEndingFrameHeight:(NSDictionary *) userInfo { NSLog(@"keyboardEndingFrameHeight method"); CGRect keyboardEndingUncorrectedFrame = [[ userInfo objectForKey:UIKeyboardFrameEndUserInfoKey ] CGRectValue]; CGRect keyboardEndingFrame = [self.view convertRect:keyboardEndingUncorrectedFrame fromView:nil]; return keyboardEndingFrame.size.height; } -(CGRect) adjustFrameHeightBy:(CGFloat) change multipliedBy:(NSInteger) direction { NSLog(@"adjust method"); return CGRectMake(20, 57, self.textView.frame.size.width, self.textView.frame.size.height + change * direction); } -(void)keyboardWillAppear:(NSNotification *)notification { NSLog(@"keyboard appear"); [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [self matchAnimationTo:[notification userInfo]]; self.textView.frame = [self adjustFrameHeightBy:[self keyboardEndingFrameHeight: [notification userInfo]] multipliedBy:-1]; [UIView commitAnimations]; } -(void)keyboardWillDisappear:(NSNotification *) notification { NSLog(@"keyboard disappear"); [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [self matchAnimationTo:[notification userInfo]]; self.textView.frame = [self adjustFrameHeightBy:[self keyboardEndingFrameHeight: [notification userInfo]] multipliedBy:1]; [UIView commitAnimations]; } // Override to allow orientations other than the default portrait orientation. - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { return YES; } (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning { // Releases the view if it doesn't have a superview. I used the tabBar template provided by xcode no modifications.

  • MVC design patterns

    - by insane-36
I have an application and it does not use a very good structure. However it seems to me that I have tried to stick to mvc design pattern but a senior engineer claims that I have no design patterns and code are mesh. How I have structured the code : I have couple of nsmanagedobject model classes which represents model in my case and a reskit library which encapsulates the nsurlconnection and url request. I fetch the request from the view controller itself and then when the request get completed I create predicate and then populate it in tableview. Wherever I need custom view either I create it in nib or create in a custom subclass of UIView. I have use delegation pattern and notification to communication to view controller, views and block callback with restkit. But, the senior engineer is very new to ios. He has been doing it for 2 months now but he is a good java programmer. So, what is mvc pattern ? Is core data model not working as a model objects, view controller as controller and views. I dont seem to find any other places or any other cases to create my own model object since the most of the models are used as NSManagedObject subclass.

  • Reducing lag when downloading large amount of data from webpage

    - by Mahir
I am getting data via RSS feeds and displaying each article in a table view cell. Each cell has an image view, set to a default image. If the page has an image, the image is to be replaced with the image from the article. As of now, each cell downloads the source code from the web page, causing the app to lag when I push the view controller and when I try scrolling. Here is what I have in the cellForRowAtIndexPath: method. NSString * storyLink = [[stories objectAtIndex: storyIndex] objectForKey: @"link"]; storyLink = [storyLink stringByTrimmingCharactersInSet:[NSCharacterSet whitespaceAndNewlineCharacterSet]]; NSString *sourceCode = [NSString stringWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL URLWithString:storyLink] encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding error:&error]; NSString *startPt = @"instant-gallery"; NSString *startPt2 = @"<img src=\""; if ([sourceCode rangeOfString:startPt].length != 0) { //webpage has images // find the first "<img src=...>" tag starting from "instant-gallery" NSString *trimmedSource = [sourceCode substringFromIndex:NSMaxRange([sourceCode rangeOfString:startPt])]; trimmedSource = [trimmedSource substringFromIndex:NSMaxRange([trimmedSource rangeOfString:startPt2])]; trimmedSource = [trimmedSource substringToIndex:[trimmedSource rangeOfString:@"\""].location]; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:trimmedSource]; NSData *data = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:url]; UIImage *image = [UIImage imageWithData:data]; cell.picture.image = image; Someone suggested using NSOperationQueue. Would this way be a good solution? EDIT: - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *MyIdentifier = @"FeedCell"; LMU_LAL_FeedCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:MyIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { NSArray *nib = [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"LMU_LAL_FeedCell" owner:self options:nil]; cell = (LMU_LAL_FeedCell*) [nib objectAtIndex:0]; } int storyIndex = [indexPath indexAtPosition: [indexPath length] - 1]; NSString *untrimmedTitle = [[stories objectAtIndex: storyIndex] objectForKey: @"title"]; cell.title.text = [untrimmedTitle stringByTrimmingCharactersInSet:[NSCharacterSet whitespaceCharacterSet]]; CGSize maximumLabelSize = CGSizeMake(205,9999); CGSize expectedLabelSize = [cell.title.text sizeWithFont:cell.title.font constrainedToSize:maximumLabelSize]; //adjust the label to the the new height. • iPad issue with a modal view: modal view label null after view controller is created

    - by iPhone Guy
    This is a weird issue. I have created a view controller with a nib file for my modal view. On that view there is a label, number and text view. When I create the view from the source view, I tried to set the label, but it shows that the label is null (0x0). Kinda weird... Any suggestions? Now lets look at the code (I put all of the code here because that shows more than I can just explain): The modal view controller - in IB the label is connected to the UILabel object: @implementation ModalViewController @synthesize delegate; @synthesize goalLabel, goalText, goalNumber; // Done button clicked - (void)dismissView:(id)sender { // Call the delegate to dismiss the modal view if ([delegate respondsToSelector:@selector(didDismissModalView: newText:)]) { NSNumber *tmpNum = goalNumber; NSString *tmpString = [[NSString alloc] initWithString:[goalText text]]; [delegate didDismissModalView:tmpNum newText:tmpString]; [tmpNum release]; [tmpString release]; } } - (void)cancelView:(id)sender { // Call the delegate to dismiss the modal view if ([delegate respondsToSelector:@selector(didCancelModalView)]) [delegate didCancelModalView]; } -(void) setLabelText:(NSString *)text { [goalLabel setText:text]; } /* // The designated initializer. Override if you create the controller programmatically and want to perform customization that is not appropriate for viewDidLoad. - (id)initWithNibName:(NSString *)nibNameOrNil bundle:(NSBundle *)nibBundleOrNil { if ((self = [super initWithNibName:nibNameOrNil bundle:nibBundleOrNil])) { // Custom initialization } return self; } */ -(void) viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillAppear:animated]; // bring up the keyboard.... [goalText becomeFirstResponder]; } // Implement viewDidLoad to do additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib. - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; // set the current goal number to -1 so we know none was set goalNumber = [NSNumber numberWithInt: -1]; // Override the right button to show a Done button // which is used to dismiss the modal view self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = [[[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithBarButtonSystemItem:UIBarButtonSystemItemDone target:self action:@selector(dismissView:)] autorelease]; // and now for the cancel button self.navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem = [[[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithBarButtonSystemItem:UIBarButtonSystemItemCancel target:self action:@selector(cancelView:)] autorelease]; self.navigationItem.title = @"Add/Update Goals"; } - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { // Overriden to allow any orientation. return YES; } - (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning { // Releases the view if it doesn't have a superview. [super didReceiveMemoryWarning]; // Release any cached data, images, etc that aren't in use. } - (void)viewDidUnload { [super viewDidUnload]; // Release any retained subviews of the main view. // e.g. self.myOutlet = nil; } - (void)dealloc { [super dealloc]; } @end And here is where the view controller is created, variables set, and displayed: - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { // put a checkmark.... UITableViewCell *tmpCell = [tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath]; [tmpCell setAccessoryType:UITableViewCellAccessoryCheckmark]; // this is where the popup is gonna popup! // ===> HEre We Go! // Create the modal view controller ModalViewController *mdvc = [[ModalViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"ModalDetailView" bundle:nil]; // We are the delegate responsible for dismissing the modal view [mdvc setDelegate:self]; // Create a Navigation controller UINavigationController *navController = [[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController:mdvc]; // set the modal view type navController.modalPresentationStyle = UIModalPresentationFormSheet; // set the label for all of the goals.... if (indexPath.section == 0 && indexPath.row == 0) { [mdvc setLabelText:[[[NSString alloc] initWithString:@"Long Term Goal 1:"] autorelease]]; [mdvc setGoalNumber:[NSNumber numberWithInt:1]]; } if (indexPath.section == 0 && indexPath.row == 1) { [mdvc setLabelText:[[[NSString alloc] initWithString:@"Long Term Goal 2:"] autorelease]]; [mdvc setGoalNumber:[NSNumber numberWithInt:2]]; } if (indexPath.section == 0 && indexPath.row == 2) { [mdvc setLabelText:[[[NSString alloc] initWithString:@"Long Term Goal 3:"] autorelease]]; [mdvc setGoalNumber:[NSNumber numberWithInt:3]]; } if (indexPath.section == 0 && indexPath.row == 3) { [mdvc setLabelText:[[[NSString alloc] initWithString:@"Long Term Goal 4:"] autorelease]]; [mdvc setGoalNumber:[NSNumber numberWithInt:4]]; } if (indexPath.section == 1 && indexPath.row == 0) { [mdvc setLabelText:[[[NSString alloc] initWithString:@"Short Term Goal 1:"] autorelease]]; [mdvc setGoalNumber:[NSNumber numberWithInt:5]]; } if (indexPath.section == 1 && indexPath.row == 1) { [mdvc setLabelText:[[[NSString alloc] initWithString:@"Short Term Goal 2:"] autorelease]]; [mdvc setGoalNumber:[NSNumber numberWithInt:6]]; } if (indexPath.section == 1 && indexPath.row == 2) { [mdvc setLabelText:[[[NSString alloc] initWithString:@"Short Term Goal 3:"] autorelease]]; [mdvc setGoalNumber:[NSNumber numberWithInt:7]]; } if (indexPath.section == 1 && indexPath.row == 3) { [mdvc setLabelText:[[[NSString alloc] initWithString:@"Short Term Goal 4:"] autorelease]]; [mdvc setGoalNumber:[NSNumber numberWithInt:8]]; } // show the navigation controller modally [self presentModalViewController:navController animated:YES]; // Clean up resources [navController release]; [mdvc release]; // ==> Ah... we are done... }

  • New to iPhone SDK: touchesBegan not called

    - by coriolan
Hi, I created a very very basic iPhone app with File/New Projet/View-Based application. No NIB file there. Here is my appDelegate .h @interface MyAppDelegate : NSObject <UIApplicationDelegate> { UIWindow *window; MyViewController *viewController; } .m - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application { // Override point for customization after app launch [window addSubview:viewController.view]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; } And here is my loadView method in my controller - (void)loadView { CGRect mainFrame = [[UIScreen mainScreen] applicationFrame]; UIView *contentView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:mainFrame]; contentView.backgroundColor = [UIColor redColor]; self.view = contentView; [contentView release]; } Now, in order to catch the touchesBegan event, I created a new subclass of UIView: .h @interface TouchView : UIView { } .m - (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { NSLog(@"Touch detected"); } and modified the second line in my loadView into this : TouchView *contentView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:mainFrame]; Why is touchesBegan never called?

  • iPad After drill down in Split View's Master View, Detail View will not load.

    - by Stuart
Hi, completely new to coding other than html. I have an iPad app based on the MultiDetailsView/SplitView sample in Xcode. I have a master view that drills down and loads new detail views, both at the same time when needed. But when I do drill down the lower views will not load their new detail views. If I change the master 'RootViewController' in the Main nib to any of my other navigation views they will load their correct detail views. I think it could be that my lower views are somehow not connected to the SplitViewController. I have tried many things but I am just guessing. Any help with this would be great, thanks!

  • Add a Contextual Menu to WebView

    - by Woodster
An easy one, I think: I want to add a contextual menu to a WebView. In IB, I added a NSMenu to the NIB, connected it to the WebView's menu outlet, launched and expected to be able to control-click in the WebView and see the pop-up menu. The only item I saw on the contextual menu is "reload". I can do the same steps but connect the Menu to some other view and it works as expected. Why doesn't the menu work the same when connect to the webview's menu outlet? Thanks

  • Does UIGestureRecognizer work on a UIWebView?

    - by rscott
I am attempting to get a UIGestureRecognizer working with a UIWebview which is a subview of a UIScrollView. This sounds odd but when I have the numberOfTouchesRequired set to 2 the selector fires, but when numberOfTouchesRequired is set to one the selector doesn't fire. Here is my code: UITapGestureRecognizer *tap1 = [[UITapGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:@selector(select1:)]; tap1.numberOfTouchesRequired = 2; tap1.numberOfTapsRequired = 1; tap1.delegate = self; [self.ans1WebView addGestureRecognizer:tap1]; [tap1 release]; - (void) select1:(UILongPressGestureRecognizer *)sender { //Do Stuff } I've confirmed this by using the Apple sample for UIGestureRecognizer and inserting a webview in their nib. Their tap code works everywhere but inside the area of the webview.

  • Unclickable NSWindow?

    - by Brock Woolf
I have an NSWindow in a Cocoa application with a fullscreen OpenGL context running above it. The NSWindow (is loaded from the default nib). It contains some buttons, but when I try to click them they do not press down as a normal aqua button does. I think this could have something to do with the first responder, but i'm not 100% sure. I can move the NSWindow around by it's title bar, but nothing inside it is clickable, nor are there any changes on rollover of the close and minimise buttons. How do I make my NSWindow (and the objects inside it) 'clickable'?

  • From iPhone OS to cocoa on OSX...

    - by David
Hi - this is quite a basic OSX/cocoa question. I come from an iPhone OS development background. I'm now trying to write apps for OSX, but I don't understand where cocoa on OSX decides where the program gets control. I can see the main function, but where does program control go from there? Say for example I want to programatically create a window with an NSView in it once the app has finished launching - how would I do that? There is no app delegate created that I can see, in iPhone OS I would wait for the - (void) applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application method to be called. I really don't want to use the Interface Builder or NIB files to setup my window/view. How would I go about this? Any help would be much appreciated - Cheers, David

  • iPad modal form sheet takes up the whole screen anyways

    - by quixoto
I'm trying to create a form sheet modal on iPad, which should be a 540x620 modal view. I've created a view controller with a NIB file whose view is a 540x620 sized UIView (with stuff on it). I set the modal presentation style to UIModalPresentationFormSheet, and call presentModalViewController:animated: on the current view controller. My view slides in from the bottom, but instead of being a form sheet, it takes up the whole screen (my view elements are all anchored in the top left of the screen). Even stranger, when I dismiss it, all the UI that was "underneath" it, is all re-layed out to be in the center, in approximately a form sheet sized area in the center of the screen. Bizarro! Anyone have any suggestions as to what could cause this behavior? Thanks.

  • How to create a run loop that only listens to performSelector:onThread: and GUI events?

    - by Paperflyer
I want to create a separate thread that runs its own window. Frankly, the documentation does not make sense to me. So I create an NSThread with a main function. I start the thread, create an NSAutoreleasePool, and run the run loop: // Global: BOOL shouldKeepRunning = YES; - (void)threadMain { NSAutoreleasePool *pool = [NSAutoreleasePool new]; // Load a nib file, set up its controllers etc. while (shouldKeepRunning) { NSAutoreleasePool *loopPool = [NSAutoreleasePool new]; [[NSRunLoop currentRunLoop] runUntilDate:[NSDate distantFuture]]; [loopPool drain]; } [pool drain]; } But since there is no registered port or observer, runUntilDate: exits immediately and CPU utilization goes to 100%. All thread communication is handled by calls to performSelector:onThread:withObject:waitUntilDone:. Clearly, I am not using the API correctly. So, what am I doing wrong?

  • How to troubleshoot deallocation of object in uitableview?

    - by 4thSpace
I have a table view with tall cells. About 300 in height. The cells are custom and have an associated nib. In cellForRowAtIndexPath, I access an object in an array using indexPath.row. The object has properties, which I assign to labels on the custom cell. This works fine for the first two cells. Once I scroll enough for the third cell to get created, the app crashes. I have NSZombieEnabled set and here is the output: 2010-04-19 21:48:13.360 MyApp[54463:207] *** -[CALayer release]: message sent to deallocated instance 0xfc4e50 (gdb) continue 2010-04-19 21:48:18.382 MyApp[54463:207] *** NSInvocation: warning: object 0xfc4e50 of class '_NSZombie_CALayer' does not implement methodSignatureForSelector: -- trouble ahead 2010-04-19 21:48:18.383 MyApp[54463:207] *** NSInvocation: warning: object 0xfc4e50 of class '_NSZombie_CALayer' does not implement doesNotRecognizeSelector: -- abort (gdb) continue Program received signal: “EXC_BAD_ACCESS”. • How to change to a grouped table view in xcode without using Interface Builder

    - by Dave
I have a table that I created within xcode so there is no nib file in this case. I want to make my table into the 'Grouped' style but im not sure how. I think it has somthing to do with the method below, the problem is Im not really sure how to call it, I do understand how methods work I'm just not too sure on where to start with this one: - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame style:(UITableViewStyle)UITableViewStyleGrouped So could someone tell me how to call it? The problem is that its not a method I wrote its a built in one so I could put that line into my header file but how would I use it in my implementation file? Thanks guys,

  • VB Project Template for Monobjc in MonoDevelop?

After installing Monobjc and playing around with the Monobjc Application Project under C# in MonoDevelop, I noticed that there is only an empty Monobjc project under the VB section. Obviously this template adds all the correct references but doesn't add the basic files for the application to run. I've tried creating a class with: Imports System Imports Monobjc Imports Monobjc.Cocoa Class Application Public Sub Main(Byval args() As String) ObjectiveCRuntime.LoadFramework("Cocoa") ObjectiveCRuntime.Initialize() End Sub End Class Obviously I'm not loading the NIB there either, as I haven't added that in either, but if I try to build this I get: /Source/VB_Sample/VB_Sample/<MyGenerator>(1,1): Error VBNC30420: Could not find a 'Sub Main' in ''. (VBNC30420) (VB_Sample) Where should I be putting the Sub Main? Also if I add in a xib file from IB, how do I generate the designer code for the partial AppDelegate class? Any help would be appreciated.

  • iPhone: [subview release] removes my subview from the display

    - by Stefan Klumpp
    I have these two pieces of code. The first one works perfectly: UIView *tmp = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0f, 60.0f, 296.0f, 44.0f)]; [self.dynamicView addSubview:tmp]; [tmp release]; The second one is pretty much the same, but the view doesn't show up. CommentBox *commentBox = [[CommentBox alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0f, 0.0f, 296.0f, 44.0f)]; [self.dynamicView addSubview:commentBox]; [commentBox release]; // Why does this remove the view? If I remove the [commentBox release] the view surprisingly appears. But I don't see a different between these two code snippets. The init for the CommentBox looks like this: - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame { if ((self = [super initWithFrame:frame])) { // Load the nib: NSArray *nibObjects = [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"CommentBox" owner:self options:nil]; self = [nibObjects objectAtIndex:0]; } return self; }

  • NavigationController pushViewController problems.

    - by Jacek
Hello. I have created new a view controller in my project (ActivateController). I have added it to the interface of the parent view controller (PrefsViewController): #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "ActivateController.h" @interface PrefsViewController : UIViewController <UITextFieldDelegate> { ActivateController *activateController; } -(IBAction)pressedActivate; @property(nonatomic,retain) IBOutlet ActivateController *activateController; @end I have also added it to parent's controller nib (and changed it type to ActivateController), and connected it to IBOutlet ActivateController. But still, when I perform (on pressedActivate): [self.navigationController pushViewController:activateController animated:YES]; Nothing happens. I have done it successfully many times before. What might be wrong? P.S. pressedActivate is executed for sure (I used NSLog to check).
