• How to get XDebug working on Mac command line PHP

  I recently installed Zend Server Community Edition on a Mac with Snow Leopard. I can't get XDebug to work ... it shows up in the output for phpinfo from a web browser, but when I var_dump() a variable, there is no special output, and when I run phpunit, code coverage reports aren't generated. Also when I type php -m at the command line, there is nothing for XDebug. I suspect that it's because the Mac is running the executable of PHP that was bundled with it instead of the executable of PHP that came with the Zend Server install. When I type /usr/local/zend/bin/php -m, XDebug does show up. I followed the instructions at http://akrabat.com/php/some-notes-on-zend-server-ce-for-mac-os-x/. Also I downloaded the xdebug.so from the Komodo web site. Zend Debugger and all other Zend extensions are disabled. So how can I get XDebug working correctly?

• Enabling PostgreSQL support in PHP on Mac OS X

  I'm having a terribly difficult time getting the command "pg_connect()" to work properly on my Mac. I'm currently writing a PHP script (to be executed from console) to read a PostgreSQL database and email a report. I've gone into my php.ini file and added extension=pgsql.so But, I'm met with the following error. PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/php_pgsql.so' - dlopen(/usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/php_pgsql.so, 9): image not found in Unknown on line 0 PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function pg_connect() in... (blah file here) When running phpinfo(), I see nothing about PostgreSQL, so what is my issue here?

• eclipse xdebug session never completes

  I am trying to get xdebug working with eclipse (3.5) / php (on xampp windows 7). I have verified xdebug is enabled in php - I have the fancy output and my phpinfo shows all the xdebug stuff. I have remote debug on, and typed in the lan ip address on my eclipse machine. When I tell eclipse to debug, it launches the browser and passes the debug URL parameters. That looks OK. However, in eclipse debug perspective it shows 'launching myproject' 57% 'waiting for xdebug session'. It sits there forever. I have turned off windows firewall on both machines. I tried turning implicit flush on. Any ideas?

• Can't get Xdebug to work on Windows 7

  I installed the latest XAMPP package which includes PHP 5.3.0. I am trying to enable Xdebug, but it just won't work. Here's what I changed in the php.ini shipped with XAMPP: ; uncommented zend_extension = "X:\xampp\php\ext\php_xdebug.dll" ; added the following lines: xdebug.remote_enable=true xdebug.remote_host=localhost xdebug.remote_port=9000 xdebug.remote_handler=dbgp Apache starts fine, but when I open http://localhost/ in my browser, I get the following error If I click the Close the program button, the error message will reappear in a second as if it was in an infinite loop. I'd greatly appreciate any help in getting this to work. I am running a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. • CURL on PHP 5.2 works in CLI but not in IIS

  I have a Windows 2003 Server running IIS with php 5.2.8, I'm trying to use CURL, and it works in CLI mode (if i execute php.exe) but it does not seem to be registered when running under IIS. The output of PHP info in both CLI and IIS show the same 'Loaded Configuration File', but under IIS it does not give the CURL info box. c:\program files\php\php.exe -i shows ... Loaded Configuration File => C:\Program Files\PHP\php.ini ... curl cURL support => enabled cURL Information => libcurl/7.16.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8i zlib/1.2.3 phpinfo() ... Loaded Configuration File => C:\Program Files\PHP\php.ini ... NOTE: This server also runs php 5.3 in c:\program files\php-5.3.0 and CURL does properly work with that installation.

  I am using JanRain OpenID Library PHP. I am trying out the consumer example in /example/consumer. Services like Google (or Yahoo) are not working, while other's like myopenid.com, blogger are working. My PHPinfo says that cURL and OpenSSL is enabled. Note that I also tried using LightOpenID Library (gitorious.org/lightopenid) which works with Google. Unfortunately, it doesn't work on server with php safe_mode On, it requires cURL. So I cannot use on all servers. JanRain's Library works on the server but not with Google.

  Hi, I need to develop a PHP class to communicate with Apple servers in order to do Push notification (APNS). I have the certificate (.pem) and I tried to follow various tutorials found on Internet but I'm still getting error trying to connect to ssl://gateway.sandbox.push.apple.com:2195 with stream socket : $apnsHost = 'gateway.sandbox.push.apple.com'; $apnsPort = 2195; $apnsCert = 'apns-dev.pem'; $streamContext = stream_context_create(); stream_context_set_option($streamContext, 'ssl', 'local_cert', $apnsCert); $apns = stream_socket_client('ssl://'.$apnsHost.':'.$apnsPort, $error, $errorString, 2, STREAM_CLIENT_CONNECT, $streamContext); A telnet on this URL works so port 2195 is opened. Openssl is activated on PHP since I get "Registered Stream Socket Transports : tcp, udp, ssl, sslv3, sslv2, tls" with a phpinfo(). My certificate is well read (PHP is_readable(certif.pem) returns true on the file) Is there anything else to activate in Apache or PHP to get it work ?

• Renaming Functions during runtime in PHP.

  In PHP 5.3 is there a way to rename a function or "hook" a function. There is the rename_function() within "APD" which has been broken since ~2004. If you try and build it on PHP 5.3 you'll get this error: 'struct _zend_compiler_globals' has no member named 'extended_info' This is a really easy error to fix, just change this line: GC(extended_info) = 1; to CG(compiler_options) |= ZEND_COMPILE_EXTENDED_INFO; I modified my php.ini and the APD shows up in my phpinfo() as it should. However when i call rename_function() the PHP page doesn't load and I get a segmentation fault in my /var/log/apache2/error.log. Is there anyway to fix APD to work with a modern version of PHP? Or is there another method to rename functions? Why on earth is vital feature not in php!??!?! (Gotta love python :)

• My site not directing links correctly.

  I have a site at http://badassmonkeys.com/ and when i click any of the links it does not direct it to the actual page but still pulls up the link. For some reason it works perfectly on linux cpanel and actually loads the pages, but on windows in apache, or in IIS even with a rewrite mod for it, it just doesnt work. The links dont go correctly. Is it a php.ini setting? This is my htaccess file if curious, but it works perfect in linux, but not on windows.... • Moving Wordpress from Apache to IIS

  I've encountered a problem when moving a Wordpress installation from a Linux Apache server to a Windows IIS server. Nearly all pages load blank, including /wp-admin/. I created a php file in the main directory to check phpinfo, and it loads fine. I've copied the file system over, as well as the database. I've also updated the wp-config.php with the correct credentials. I think it has something to do with .htaccess, but I'm not sure how to correct it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• php.ini not being read with windows 7 installation

  I have installed php successfully on a Windows 7 machine but I can not for the life of me get it to read the php.ini file. I have uncommented out the line for php to use mysql and when I run phpinfo(), it never shows up. I have checked to make sure there is only one php.ini file on my entire c:\ drive and it's sitting in my c:\windows folder. has anyone else run into this and know of a solution to get php to read the .ini so that I can enable some extensions (mysql etc)?

• PHP code cannot see query string param on return in Facebook oAuth flow

  I am doing some integration with Facebook Open Graph using their oAuth flow and having issues with parsing query string parameters they return. On my callback URL, they pass back an "access_token" parameter with a hash (#). so the callback would be: http://mydomain.com/callback.php#access_token=foobar123 where foobar123 is my access token I'm trying to parse out. However, no matter what I do, my PHP code cannot see if and I've done every debug trick I know (even using phpinfo() to go through everything). The URL is stated only as http://mydomain.com/callback.php. It's as if the rest of the URL isn't really there! This code returns nothing: $token = $_REQUEST['access_token']; Any help would be greatly appreciated... I'm obviously missing something simple.

  file_get_contents() is returning "failed to open stream" when I call it on an HTTPS URL. Warning: file_get_contents(https://google.com) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: No error in E:\\htdocs\callback3.php on line 5 Same call will work with a non-SSL URL. At first, I thought it was a security issue with my webhoster, but I have verified with phpinfo() that allow url open is indeed allowed. I have also tried this code and verified it works: Anyone have any ideas why file_get_contents() is failing with an HTTPS URL? update: People correctly pointed out this was an HTTPS issue. My webhoster claims this should work, and has no idea how to resolve this. Anyone have specific directions I can give them for their IIS7 setup?

It is running: Ubuntu 9.10 Apache 2.2.12 PHP 5.3.2-0.dotdeb.1 MySql 5.0.7-dev Currently the settings in the php.ini for displayiong errors are: display_errors = on error_reporting = E_ALL But I do not see any errors in my php script. Also very strange is that phpinfo() shows me this: display_errors Off I checked the php.ini file, and restarted the apache server many times, but with no luck. Does anybody knows how this is possible? edit: When I localy set this: ini_set('display_errors', 'on'); I do receive errors.

However, when trying to access to a simple test.php file (just has phpinfo() in it), I get the following list of errors: • IIS was not able to access the web.config file for the Web site or application. This can occur if the NTFS permissions are set incorrectly. • IIS was not able to process configuration for the Web site or application. • The authenticated user does not have permission to use this DLL. • The request is mapped to a managed handler but the .NET Extensibility Feature is not installed. Any idea of what I'm doing wrong here?

• Setting a Global Doctype

  Is it possible using PHP (I was thinking may the phpinfo file or a php.ini file) or an .htaccess file to set a doctype for an entire subdirectory? Basically, in a nutshell, I'm using a software that uses XSL templates to output data to a set of HTML files. Modifying the xsl:output tag to include the doctype breaks the template and therefore, does not work. Just adding the doctype in the XSL file, breaks it as well. I need the proper doctypes in place for my CSS to function properly, cross-browser. I realize that I could add the doctype to the HTML files after export but, I'm really striving to automate this process. Any thoughts?

  Hey, I recently am working on an projekt that uses the "SQL Server Driver for PHP", i wanted to upgrade the existing driver to the new version (2.0), because I need some of the functions that have been implemented there. Now i replaced the old .dll in the php/ext directory and restarted the webserver. But now i recieve the following error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function sqlsrv_connect() in E:\ProjekteExtern\hades_apl\classes\sql\sqlsrv.class.php on line 34 But if i run phpinfo();, sqlsrv shows up, in the same way as the previous version did.   Hi, I'm trying to install pixelpost on an Apache server on windows. The installer is failing because: Pixelpost will not run if your PHP installation is not compiled with the GD graphics library. I've added the following line to php.ini extension=php_gd2.dll But I still get the same error message. When I run phpinfo() I don't see any reference to GD, so I guess it really isn't installed. I searched for php_gd2.dll and it's in the ext subfolder of my PHP root dir. I know nothing about PHP, so be gentle with me. Thanks, Don

• PHP mysql_real_escape_string() returning `NULL`

  I'm using PHP Version 5.1.6 and trying to escape a query string from my $_GET array. However my script is returning a NULL after it's escaped. It seems that mysql_escape_string() works fine, but it's deprecated, so I don't want to use it. Having checked over the phpinfo() the MySQL lib is all loaded fine from what I can see. Has anyone experienced this kind of thing before? $term = $_GET['q']; var_dump($term); // string(7) "richard" echo "<br />"; $sterm = mysql_real_escape_string($term, $db); var_dump($sterm); // NULL It's very strange to me, I can't imagine why this function wouldn't work.

• imap_open dies when being called

  Hi, I've got the following code: The script dies. I get zero responds, nothing from apache, no "foo" or "bar", nothing. I can however connect to the imap server (nc localhost ...), I can also put the script on another server and connect to the same imap server. So, I think there's something wrong with the php on this server. But I can't figure out what I'm missing, forgetting or didn't install. phpinfo() tells me php is configured --with-imap and --with-imap-ssl. The OS is CentOS, btw.
