  I need that because I am running a free version of iESX server and there is very little that I can configure in the OS itself. The server is sitting rather far from my router and I want to get rid of that cable. Now, I have seen a device which is allows to cut a cable with a transmitter and a receiver. Ideally I just want a receiver because my router is already transmitting stuff. If you have successfully used a wifi to ethernet adapter / bridge, then please recommend it here. Thank you.

• Frustration with superuser.com user interface (please migrate this to "meta")

  Can someone please migrate this question to "meta" for me? I'm unable to post there while I wait for OpenID to fix my password problems. Thanks. I'm having problems with superuser.com's interface -- when I provide an answer to a question, sometimes the buttons get locked and then I find out that the question was migrated. Usually I can go back and copy-and-paste my answer at whatever site it goes to, but on occasion my answer is lost and I have to re-type it. This is very time-consuming, and makes it quite frustrating to use the system. In addition, I find that I'm wasting a lot of time dealing with having to re-register on the other sites. My suggestion is to not de-activate the "Submit answer" button but to just forward that along to the migrated site automatically, thus ensuring that answers that people put a lot of effort into don't get lost. I need the following functionality : 1- Subscribe to podcasts (mp3's from radio shows) using rss 2- Have OPML support so I can load up my old subscriptions easily 3- That runs quietly in the backgrond and looks after itself 4- That deletes old episodes automatically after a set time 5- Isn't just designed for an IPOD (I use a simple generic mp3 player to listen).   I want to disable something for a specific window : the window's ability to get activated or focused. Everytime a window gets a focus or it gets activated( ex: when you click on it ) ,the window appears the top most of all windows. So I want to stay forever in the 'background'. And to do this , maybe I need somehow to remove the possibily of having focus for that windows... EDIt: I know the window can be hided or minimized but I need it displayed on the monitor.   All, I am using a Pendrive to transfer files from one system to another. I think I deleted some files from the Pendrive that I now need back. Also, there are chances that I might have overwritten the memory where the deleted data might have existed. Is there any software to do something about that? I understand that logically whatever is overwritten in memory cannot to fetched back. But still I need to trust the advances in the technology. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

  Upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 via the Store upgrade path has screwed my SkyDrive. The C:\Users\<user name>\SkyDrive folder is empty (it only has single file desktop.ini). When I open the native (Store) SkyDrive app, I see "This location can't be found, please try later". I'm glad to still have my files alive online in my SkyDrive account. I tried disconneting from / reconnecting to my Microsoft Account with no luck. Anyone has an idea on how to fix this without reinstalling/refreshing Windows 8.1? Whats happening: After dig, answer section empty, the query is trying to access a.root server instead of 192.168.0.197 ,even though i have defined 192.168.0.197 as dns in gateway1's resolv.conf Why? I need this working asap, can anyone here help ?

I checked with Samsung, they do not make manuals available nor will they help over the phone as to how to remove the bottom cover of this Samsung NP900X1A Laptop. They did offer to sell me a manual BUT they are out of stock for another 10-15 days. I saw the screws under the 4 rubber feet and 4 rubber grommets, all removed but the cover is still on.   I am in need of a real time, two way synchronization software for Centos 5.5 / 64Bit. Here's little explanation: It needs to be able to perform: Two way synchronization. It must be realtime. By realtime means it can be almost realtime, i.e. a delay of 1 second for example is fine. And the folders are on the same server. I am currently using GlusterFS across two webservers. However, it has extremely poor small file read performance and it's slowing down my website. There's nothing more that can be done to improve this, I have already tested many configurations. As a solution, I was going to mount a RAM drive (tmpfs) that mirrors the GlusterFS web files but get the webserver to use the RAM drive. The issue is that I need two way realtime mirroring or replication between glusterfs and the RAM drive. I need this is as Apache writes files as wells. As I said, realtime two way synchronization across two folders. Which are in fact 2 different mounts points. The RAM (tmpfs) mount poing and the GlusterFS mount point. I already know about: Rsync - Which is one way Unison - Which is not realtime Please suggest me any solution free or paid. Thanks in advance

  My setup: I have 2 hosts, and 2 shards each. Host1 has 2 shards, and is the master of the replicas host2 has the secondaries of the 2 shards. . host1: shard1 (repset1),shard2 (repset2) host2: shard1 (repset1),shard2 (repset2) There's also a 3rd host that acts as arbitrer. I have 50 threads writing randomly to both shards (using a hash) via mongos with REPLICA_SAFE WriteConcern set on each insert. The questions: mongostat displays about 90% locked for both shards in host1 and about 1% locked on host2. Since I use REPLICA_SAFE which supposedly writes to both servers shouldn't the locks be the same? mongostat reports qr=30 for both shards of host1, and qw=0 always. Since I perform only writes how is this possible? Moreover on host2 all queues are reported 0. Faults are abut the same in all shards/hosts (arround 80). netIn/netOut on the secondaries (host2) are always about 200bytes/sec. Too low. mongos has 53 connections, host1's shards have 71 and 71 and host2's shards have 9 and 8. How is this? Please answer whatever you can. Thanks!

  Hi, i am a noob with servers. I have a centos5.5 vps with 512mb ram. My goal is to have it host just one magento store. I've installed Magento on the server without any control panel, by just installing lamp myself and whatever php extensions were necessary to get Magento to install. As soon as i visit my magento store, suddenly the ram on the vps is almost completely used, with only about 100mb left. Please see this screenshot of htop taken after just myself visited the website. http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/1944/screenouv.png As you can see there's only around 100mb left. Is that normal? I'm wondering if i might have done something stupid with the server that makes it very resource hungry. I installed apache from the centos base repo, php version 5.3 from the ius repository and mysql 5.1 also from ius repo. I haven't changed any of the default config files for any of these except to make memory_minimum 256 in php.ini. Is there anything i can do to make more ram free? I'm clueless but i see each Apache daemon is using 8% of available ram, and AFAIK each visitor needs one Apache daemon. So i would run out of ram with just a handful of visitors. Regular releases ensure that the UPK Developer supports updates to targeted applications as well as new Java updates. Installing an ESP is quick and easy. • Download the latest ESP from My Oracle Support (requires a My Oracle Support account). • Run the setup for each client machine that uses the UPK Developer • Run the Library Updates from one of the clients (multi-user only) Enablement Pack 1 for UPK 3.6.1 contains new features such as a new Tabbed Gateway, FireFox 3.6 support for the Player and SmartHelp, and several new target application versions. But a very exciting feature that is part of this ESP is now available to all Oracle E-Business Suite customers. Until now, a requirement for EBS customers who wish to record UPK content is to install delivered library files (CUSTOM.pll and ODPN.pll) on to the Oracle Application Server. These files were required to present context information to the UPK Developer so that content can be launched in a context sensitive manner. This requirement involved the Oracle system administrator to transfer, install and compile these libraries into the system. Usually a simple process, however, we understood the need to streamline the procedure. With ESP 1 for UPK 3.6.1, these pll files are no longer required. Now, a simple procedure from within the EBS application can make context available to the UPK recorder. From the System Profile, search for UPK: Change the Site field to Enable UPK Recording. Save the Form. Context information will now be made available to the UPK Recorder without involving the System Administrator or DBA. The setting you see here makes context available to all client machines recording content with UPK and does not affect the performance of your EBS application.

  I am trying to recover an accidentally formatted partition using testDisk, After selecting the partition[pic 1] and selecting Undeleted[pic 1], it says, No deleted file found.[pic 2] 1 2 I know it's a silly question, but I just want to make sure that those data are really out of reach. Or is there anything I can do to recover them? :( I tried to repair my partition table using bootrec.exe/FixMBR & bootrec.exe/FixBoot, can this be the reason why testdisk can't work anymore? I haven't written anything on that partition. Is there any low level approach to retrieve all the lost data?

• Simple C: How do I scan this information in properly?

  OK this is a simple question but for some reason I just can't get it right. I have to scan from a file hundreds of lines of code and store it in a array (which I can normally do a ok job with) however At one point the code will specify a number that then corresponds to the next batch of chars ints and floats going into various arrays. • [URGENT HELP PLEASE]USB Flash Drive Problem!

  Here it goes. My friend saved by his works into my flash drive which was detectable/openable but ... The very next day, the drive wouldn't show up in My Computer and Windows gave him error code 43 (Unknown device). I been searching for the next few hours to find a solution as the works inside is important to him. I know he should back up his files but let's not go there. So .... I tried others few systems that once detected his flash drive but the problem still persisted. I don't know whether or not his flash drive is damaged but when plug/un-plugging, there are still sounds coming out though. Tried solutions: [On Vista Home Premium/HIS COME]Uninstalled -- Restarted com -- Re-installed (ERROR 43) [Windows 7/MY COM] Uninstalled --- Restarted com --- Can't install (ERROR 43) It seems that my com (Windows 7) had the lastest drivers already but still can't detect it. Its a Kingston DataTraveller 101 (DT101) 8GB. Could unplugging the flash drive without clicking "Safely Remove Hardware" is the problem? Kindly provide some help. Thank you all.
