• How to configure S3 or DNS to handle incomplete name (sans www) for web site?

  I have a set up a bucket called "www.mydomainname.com" to host my website and I have configured the CNAME such that "www.mydomainname.com" points to the my endopint http://www.mydomainname.com.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com/ It works and when people who type the the full url "www.mydomainname.com" are able to see my index page But most people are in the habit of typing incoplete domain name -- they just type "mydomainname.com" and their browser fails to find my site. Is there a way to configure CName or S3 bucket such that typing "mydomainname.com" take them to my s3 website ? (I am using Networksolutions as my DNS provider).

• Maze not being random.

  Hey there, I am building a program that generates a maze so I can later translate the path to my graphical part. I have most of it working, however, every time you can just take the east and south routes, and you'll get to the end. Even if I set the width as high as 64, so the maze is 64*64, I'm able to choose those 2 options and get to the end every time. I really don't understand why it is doing that. As you can see, I think the problem is at the point where I generate the maze, however, when I just have it go until the current point is at the end, it doesn't fill every maze and is usually just one straight path. Thanks for helping. Update: I have changed the for loop that generates the maze to a simple while loop and it seems to work much better. It seems that when the for loop ran, it didn't go recursively, however, in the while loop it's perfectly fine. However, now all the squares do not fill out.

  TLDR I want my treepanel from EXTJS to remember its previous settings. ExtJS-3.2.1 I have seen this done before for ExtJS-2.x.x :See here on the extjs forums. But as seen as they are pretty much lifeless, with threads on there asking this question or similar with no reply for up to 6months. I thought I would bring it here. I need to be able to get my treePanel to remember previous opened folders and which boxes are checked. It is async treePanel.   hi, has anybody already programmed a iphone compass heading tilt compensation? i have got some approaches, but some help or a better solution would be cool! FIRST i define a vector Ev, calculated out of the cross product of Gv and Hv. Gv is a gravity vector i build out of the accelerometer values and Hv is an heading vector built out the magnetometer values. Ev stands perpendicular on Gv and Hv, so it is heading to horizonatl East. SECOND i define a vector Rv, calculated out of the cross product Bv and Gv. Bv is my looking vector and it is defined as [0,0,-1]. Rv is perpendicular to Gv and Bv and shows always to the right. THIRD the angle between these two vectors, Ev and Rv, should be my corrected heading. to calculate the angle i build the dot product and thereof the arcos. phi = arcos ( Ev * Rv / |Ev| * |Rv| ) Theoretically it should work, but maybe i have to normalize the vectors?!   Hi, I am looking for a way to calculate the distance between 2 points on the globe. We've been told to use Haversine, which works fine to calculate the shortest distance between the 2 points. Now, I'd like to calculate the "long distance" between to points. So suppose you have 2 cities, A in the west and B in the east. I want to know the distance from B to A if I would travel eastwards around the globe and then reach A coming from the west. I've tried changing a couple of things in the haversine function, but doesn't seem to work. Anyone know how I can simply do this using small adjustments to the haversine function? • iPhone MapKit - Go "Around the World" ?

  I have an App that is using MapKit. I am dropping pins and everything else, but when I zoom out to view the entire world, it does not let me go past the the middle of the Pacific Ocean. If I am viewing California and want to go to China, I have to scroll all the way East to view it. Is there a setting that I need to turn on, or is this just the way it is? I do note that this is how the actual Maps App works, so I might presume that this setting cannot be changed...

  A horizontal compass looks something like this if you are facing due East (90 degrees). 85----90---95 If you were facing due 355 degrees northwest, it would look like this: 350----355---0 As you turn the compass, the number should cycle from 0 - 360 - 0 So, my question is, how would you implement a view like this on the iPhone? I had a couple of ideas: Make one long image with all numbers and tick marks, and shift it left/right when the compass heading changes Create pieces of the view as tiles and append them when the compass heading changes. Create a line of tick marks that shifts with the compass heading, and just write numbers on it as needed. How would you attack this problem? Im mainly looking for algorithmic advice, but if you ave code or pseudo-code to demonstrate, that would be helpful too.

What I want to do is to wait the bounds (southWest and northEast) to have been set and then run the Dajaxice.async.hello(...). So I need something like "wait until bounds are set".

  Suppose I have a cellphone with accelerometer and magnetometer, and want to determine its absolute (wrt North/East/South/West) 3d position. Imagine the phone is laid vertically, with the screen facing me, the "up" vector pointing to the ceil. Whenever I tilt, the accelerometer allows me to get the "up" vector info change. The problem is that if I tilt the device and put it horizontally (screen now facing ceil, and "up" vector pointing to the opposite of where I am), then the up vector doesn't get updated any more if I rotate the phone horizontally on the table. This is something that clearly is detected by the magnetometer now. So, the question is, when to know where to use acc or mag for each case? Is there a generic way to achieve this?

  I'm having a single Parent Panel, which has 2 child panels. One has content dynamically created, while the other is fixed height and width. The Parent panel is using border layout, with center and east regions defined. I'm trying to get autoscroll to trigger on the parent panel when there is an overflow on on the center region panel. I've set the autoscroll option to true to the parent panel, but everytime there is an overflow on the center panel, it just gets cuts off. When I'm adding an overflow to center region panel, i get a scrollbar for that panel alone. I don't need that, but rather I want it on the entire Parent Panel. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions..

  Hi, I'm currently using this code to calculate the sunrise / sunset times. (To be more precise, I'm looking for civil dawn / civil dusk times which are defined as the time when the sun is between 0° and -6° altitude). As a next step, I'd like to compute the dawn beginning and dusk ending times. I believe the calculations must be very similar. My idea is that if I want to calculate the dawn beginning (dusk ending) time for a place I just calculate the sunrise (sunset) times for a place 6° farther east (west).   I'm using ExtJS 3.2 and have content inside of a tab panel, and the tab panel inside of a container in a Viewport. The actual TabPanel resizes correctly on the viewport size changes, but the content inside a panel in the TabPanel seems to be a fixed width and will not shrink when the window is resized.The strange thing is it grows if I increase the window size. How can I get the content inside a Tabpanel to shrink on window resizing.   Hi. i'm trying to built in support for locations in my application and i'm expecting users to be inputting gps coordinates in a variety of ways. I need to convert all of the below to: latitude - direction (N/s), degres, minutes, seconds; longitude (E/W) - degrees, minuts, seconds. Each user input will be in a single line. eg: 9.182, -39.140625 9.182 / -39.140625 9.182,-39.140625 9.182 -39.140625 21° 16' 674S[some_separator]27° 30' 318E 21 16 674S[some_separator]27 30 318E [some_separator] may be a single space as well... The final format needs to beas: latitude.direction = south latitude.degrees = 21 latitude.minutes = 16 latitude.seconds = 674 longitude.direction = east longitude.degrees = 27 longitude.minutes = 30 longitude.seconds = 318 (a) what is the simplest way of asking ordinary-non-tech users to input the GPS coordinate?s (b) how do i convert the above to the final format? any built in functions that handle these variations in data input? i've seen http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2548943/gps-format-in-php - but i need to handle a more varied input.
