  • Is it possible to make the iPhone keyboard invisible / remove it without resigning first responder?

    I am looking for a way to show my own input view (a UITableView) to enter certain keywords in a UITextView faster than typing them, and also be able to type into this text view the normal way. My solution has a button that causes the keyboard to disappear, revealing the table view underneath it. Problem is I can't figure out how to make the keyboard go away without resigning first responder, and losing the cursor. Has anyone accomplished this before? Thanks for any help.

    Visual Studio 2010 highlights all references to the same variable (or class) when your cursor is placed over it. with the theme I use highlighted references are white on white - making them virtually impossible to read. what is the name of "display item" in Options- Environment Fonts and Colors that is responsible for that color? changing Plain Text to a darker one partially solves an issue however that also changes color for lots of other stuff on a screen, so ideally would be to change a background for this type of "selection"..

    I'm trying to clean some html text with javascript, there are white spaces included before and after some words (text is poorly formatted). Currently I have this regex: $("#" + target + " *").replaceText(/([\S][\u05B0-\u05C4]*)/gi, '<span class="marked">$1<\/span>'); This will capture all the non white-space characters and wrap them in a span element, but will not capture spaces between words (I need the span). How would you solve this?

    I am developing Javascript app that will wrap every line of text entered inside iframe (designmode) with P (or div) like it happens by default in IE. For now I am not pasting my code because I just started, the first problem is when i type some text in firefox and even before I click enter or calling any function firebug inserts <br _moz_dirty=""> under the entered text.     Here's an excerpt from Sun's Java tutorials: A switch works with the byte, short, char, and int primitive data types. It also works with enumerated types (discussed in Classes and Inheritance) and a few special classes that "wrap" certain primitive types: Character, Byte, Short, and Integer (discussed in Simple Data Objects ). There must be a good reason why the long primitive data type is not allowed. Anyone know what it is?

    In IE8 (& maybe others), when I leave my page to go to another tab in IE and then come back to my page's tab, each time the cursor runs over an image it disappears until I refresh the page. I've heard of disappearing image bugs, but I couldn't find anything on this particular case, especially given this isn't a weird pre-IE8 bug.
