• How to install gluezilla-dev?

  gluezilla was removed from latest Ubuntu repository for some silly reason. This library is necessary for mono web libraries to work properly (without gluezilla the web browser component doesn't work). How do I install it on Ubuntu? It has an incredible dependency tree of packages that were in older Ubuntu versions but for some reason aren't in current Ubuntu. Is there any way to install it other than downgrading to older Ubuntu?

• SPSS launcher for Unity

  I have "SPSS 20 for Linux" statistical analysis program installed under /opt/IBM directory. I can run it via terminal entering the command line with /opt/IBM, and it runs without any problems. When the program window opens, I go to the launcher and right-click on its icon to lock it there, but after closing it, the icon becomes useless. When I click on it, nothing happens. I tried to ceate a launcher for it, but there is no use again.

• Data Flow Diagrams - Difference between Lines and Arrows

  I'm currently working with Visio to create Data Flow Diagrams for a System Analysis and Design class but I'm unsure what the difference between ------ and ------> is. I can connect 2 shapes together with a line (process, entity, data store) but does the single line connecting the two mean data flow? Do I need to explicitly use the data flow arrow to show which way data is flowing? (There doesn't seem to be tags for this topic, maybe im in the wrong place?)

• Problem installing UniversalIndentGUI

  I need a GUI beautifier for C code. I've found UniversalIndentGUI on sourceforge. Downloaded a .deb file.Opened it with Ubuntu Software Center to install it but the button is grey and unclickable and there is a line saying Dependency is not satisfiable: libqscintilla2-3. I've installed via the Synaptic Package Manager libqscintilla2-5 but that didn't help. Is there any way to install the UniversalIndentGUI, the libqscintilla2-3 package or to some how work around the problem?

• Ubuntu on Pandaboard giving me troubles

  I'm trying to install the OMAP4 extras for ubuntu on my pandaboard. For some reason, a few packages can't seem to be agree with eachother. This what I did so far: installed on Ubuntu 11.10 on sd card Powered on Pandaboard and let it finish it's initial install Did an "apt-get update" and "apt-get upgrade", to install updates So far, everything went fine, and I was quite happy with my Pandaboard, but then I made the mistake of typing this: apt-get install ubuntu-imap4-extras At first, everything seemed ok, and it started downloading and installing. But then after a while it just crashed. I tried it again but then it gave me this: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done ubuntu-omap4-extras is already the newest version. • A Hot Topic - Profitability and Cost Management

  Maybe it's due to the recent recession, or current economic recovery but a hot topic and area of focus for many organizations these days is profitability and cost management.  For most organizations, aggressive cost-cutting and cost management were critical to remaining profitable while top line revenue was flat or shrinking.  However, now we are seeing many organizations taking a more "surgical" approach to profitability and cost management, by accurately allocating revenue and costs to individual product lines, services, customer segments, locations, channels and other lines of business to understand which ones are truly profitable and which ones are not.  Based on these insights, managers can make more informed decisions about which products or services to invest in or retire, how to price their products or services for different customer segments, and where to focus their marketing and customer service resources.   I was presenting on SQL Server session at one of the Tech Ed On Road event in India. I was asked very interesting question during ‘Stump the Speaker‘ session. I am sharing the same with all of you over here. Question: Can you tell me in simple words what is dimension, member and other terms of multidimensional space? There is no simple example for it. This is extreme fundamental question if you know Analysis Service. Those who have no exposure to the same and have not yet started on this subject, may find it a bit difficult. I really liked his question so I decided to answer him there as well blog about the same over here. Answer: Here are the most important terms of multidimensional space – dimension, member, value, attribute and size. Dimension – It describes the point of interests for analysis. Member – It is one of the point of interests in the dimension. Value – It uniquely describes the member. Attribute – It is collection of multiple members. Size – It is total numbers for any dimension. Let us understand this further detail taking example of any space. I am going to take example of distance as a space in our example. Dimension – Distance is a dimension for us. Member – Kilometer – We can measure distance in Kilometer. Value – 4 – We can measure distance in the kilometer unit and the value of the unit can be 4. Attribute – Kilometer, Miles, Meter – The complete set of members is called attribute. Size – 100 KM – The maximum size decided for the dimension is called size. The same example can be also defined by using time space. Here is the example using time space. Dimension – Time Member – Date Value – 25 Attribute – 1, 2, 3…31 Size – 31 I hope it is clear enough that what are various multidimensional space and its terms. • Why does my WIFI connection drop every 5-20 minutes?

  There are other questions on this but none have been taken very far in their analysis. I get disconnects very often - sometimes every 20 mins or so, but sometimes even every few minutes. The way I have been getting around it is to disconnect from the Wifi connection and reconnect - and then it works fine again until the next disconnect. I am running 11.04 on an ASUS A52F. Can anyone help me please?

  On ubuntu 13.04 Skype segfaults constantly (I've read a couple of threads about fixing the issue and it is kind of works now expect it segfaults every time chat message comes in) so I'm thinking it is time to find it a replacement. Which one should I choose? Ok, I've seen previous post, yet only one answer in it highlights some alternatives. Also I want no the alternative skype client, but the whole ecosystem. • Extremely large spike in traffic on the 1st - 4th of every month from mobile browsers

  I've noticed that on the 1st - 4th of the recent months (since January), several sites I maintain are getting thousands of requests from mobile browsers, whereas throughout the rest of the month, the numbers are in the single or double digits. Has anybody else noticed this sort of behavior? I don't have the exact user agents logged, but my analysis software (WebTrends) reports the traffic as mostly iPhone/iPad/iPod, Android, and Blackberry.

• How to trick apt dependencies?

  I want to use Frescobaldi (an editor for Lilypond), but the packaged release of lilypond (2.12.3; lilypond is like TeX for scoresheets) in the official repos is a bit old, since I want to use some brand-new features. So I just cloned their git repo and installed it from there. Now my question is, how can I tell apt, that I satisfied the dependency on lilypond manually, so that it doesn't tries to install another copy?
