  • How to set variable size for List control item in Flex?

    The following code display a list of comments using List control. The item height set to a fixed value (150), so it seems working: if the content is too long, the scrollbar shows... However, what I really want is not to set the height but let it to change according to the content size.   • Changing the width of dropdown area in flex combobox.

    I have a combobox which gets populated by a remote method. I need to set the dropdownwidth of the combobox to the maximum length of the item in the combobox. I am able to achieve it by the following code. But if the resolution of the screen changes, the result is not similar.   • Given n report thumbnails, how do I create a Flex Effect that zooms into the selected report?

    I am worried about performance issues. If I just render all n reports zoomed out, then that will cost me in performance. Even animating a zoomed out report to zoom in, will also cost me in performance because it has to recalculate all the UIComponent's of my report as it transitions from zoomed out to zoomed in-to view. Any solutions/suggestions welcome. Let me know if you need clarification.

  • CaptureCameraDialog returns OK but does not save (Motorola ES400)

    Ok it seems like everyone in the world has issues with CaptureCameraDialog. In my case the result is OK, but when taking the photo there is a MessageBox that says "Error" that appears and disappears in the blink of an eye, then returns to my app (so I don't have time to actually read the error). It has not saved the file. It does not throw an error to my application. There is also another issue which is exactly the same as the issue talked about here (yet none of the fixes work for me). http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-4025602.php Does anyone know how to get the "error message" that the dialogue box displays for an instant?

  • static constants return instance of specific class in Flex?

    So here's what I mean. Let's say I have a class ErrorMessages which holds all my error messages as static constants. So I could access them like ErrorMessages.PASSWORD_INVALID or ErrorMessage.PASSWORD_TOO_SHORT. I want to know if it is possible to have separate classes that hold subset of these constants and access them like ErrorMessages.PASSWORD.INVALID or ErrorMessages.PASSWORD.TOO_SHORT, etc. This way I can more structured static structure and makes it much easier to use autocomplete. I tried few different ways and couldn't figure out if this was possible..

I have tried it as FlexEvent.batchGenerated and FlashEvent.batchGenerated. The MetaData and function that dispatches the even in the component printableInvoice is all right. It I instantiate printableInvoice as an mxml component instead of via action-script it well let put a tag into the mxml line: batchGenerated="someFunction()" Thanks.

    Hi, i load in ActionScript a swf file. So far no Problem, but I didn't found a way to access one of it's functions, the best thing would be if I could access the main function in the mxml part of the swf.   • In AS3/Flex, how can I get from flat data to hierarchical data?

    I have some data that gets pulled out of a database and mapped to an arraycollection. This data has a field called parentid, and I would like to map the data into a new arraycollection with hierarchical information to then feed to an advanced data grid. I think I'm basically trying to take the parent object, add a new property/field/variable of type ArrayCollection called children and then remove the child object from the original list and clone it into the children array?   • Flex/Flash: Don't show 'bar' cursor when dragging over a TextField/TextArea?

    As the title suggests, how can I prevent the "bar" cursor from appearing when I click-and-drag over a TextField? For example, consider this interaction: I'd like to prevent the cursor changing to the "bar" in step "2". How can I do that?   • How can I animate between states in a programmatic skin? [FLEX]

    I have a button with the various states (up/over/down etc) that uses a skin file to render the display. I want to achieve animation between the states. For instance, between the change from 'up' to 'over' I want to fade in a color and a border. The way I am doing this at the moment is to use viewstates and animate between them using transitions and the mx:AnimateProperty. However, using this method I can only animate one property per viewstate. So only the border, or the color can be animated. Does anyone know how I can achieve multiple animations on multiple properties of a programmatic button skin? Thanks in advance! Note: I have looked into using tweener but cannot see how it would help my situation

    I have an application in which I need to create mx.states.State objects on the fly, as I'm reading external data in order to create the states. Each State only has a single child, so here's my code which I was using to accomplish this: var state:State = new State(); state.name = "a"; state.overrides = [new AddChild(parent, DisplayObject(view))]; this.states.push(state); However, when I actually change a state, I get a runtime error relating to the fact that you can't call addChild on a spark.components.Group component. Is there an equivalent AddElement action for adding elements to a Group during a state change?

How do you suggest to implement it ? I was thinking to add in MXML all visible elements and then use Actionscript to add the fade in fade out components. However I just realize it is quite tricky, because I want the user select for example tag1, tag2 and tag3, with the mouse. Instead now they disappear when the mouse rolls out from the puppet image. Any guideline ? thanks
