• Is there a good web-based project management app with scheduling?

  Ideally something as intuitive as basecamp, with good usability and accessibility. The best I've seen is huddle.net but it's still weak in several areas. Must have: Projects - ability to add people & tasks and schedule tasks to people Calendar - showing when people are busy or available Role based access - Admins and non-admins History - ability to look back at all history Anyone seen a product that's worth a look? Clarification: Must be hosted i.e. not require my own hardware or IT staff I'm looking for an app to schedule people with specific tasks at specific times and monitor the outcomes. I'm already using Mingle (for stories), Basecamp (to run the business) and Exceptional (to track bugs). I'm not looking for a bug-tracking system or a story management application (I already looked at VersionOne, but chose Mingle due to it's nicer UI) My response to the answer being auto-selected: I still don't feel the answer (chosen for me) is the correct one. It's a useful list but little more, and doesn't provide the solution I was seeking.

• Can using Chronic impair you sense of time?

  Haha.. I'm using Chronic to parse the time users add in the Calendar. Where the code works and implements the right time, the end result is that, IF a user adds a time, then it has no date, and because it has no date, it will not show in results. • Extend Google AppEngine User in JRuby?

  I'm working with JRuby and DataMapper running on Google AppEngine. I want to add a property to the AppEngine::User like :active_calendar which is a reference to a Calendar kind. I was able to do something in Python this way using a back reference. Are these possible in JRuby? Is this possible? Do I need to subclass the User? Can I even do that? If so - how? Thanks!

  Hi, I have a javascript function (very big one!) that I need its functionality in a Java (Groovy) class. It is a simple calendar converter. I can rewrite it in groovy but just want to know if it is possible to call javascript function from a java (groovy) method? • jQuery - Outputting jquery results to a hidden form field

  Hey All, I was wondering how i could output the results from my jQuery to a hidden form field so i can then shove it into the database. Im using the Calendar function found here - http://www.kelvinluck.com/assets/jquery/datePicker/v2/demo/index.html Apparently the following code gets the array, but im not sure how to forward it to the hidden field. $('.date-picker').dpGetSelected() From what i can tell i want the dpGetSelected to run with when the following is triggered dpClosed Its all a bit confusing to me. • Using AND/OR mysql commands with FROM_UNIXTIME

  Trying to select a query in php/mysql to get "Upcoming Items" in a calendar. We store the dates in the DB as a unix time. Here's what my query looks like right now SELECT * FROM `calendar` WHERE (`eventDate` > '$yesterday') OR (FROM_UNIXTIME(eventDate, '%m') > '$current_month' AND `$yearly` = '1') ORDER BY `eventDate` LIMIT 4 This is giving me an error "Unknown column '' in 'where clause'". I'm sure it has to do with my use of parenthesis (which I've never used before in a query) and the FROM_UNIXTIME command. Can someone help me out and let me know how I've screwed this up? Thanks!

I am using the HTMLAgilityPack but, this is the first time I have used it, also the webpage who ever set it up has no classes or Id's and the end dates are stored in a Tr H4 tag. But jquery datepicker calendar does not work in this component. If Visible="true" by default then works. Why and how to fix that. I think that problem is in changing visibility.

  Hi there, my situation is the following: I have a project with JSP, Struts and a lot of actions. Lets say that I have these 3 main groups {contacts.do, calendar.do and notes.do} with lot of actions in each of them. I have an action unrelated to all of them but since I didn't know where to put it I just chose contacts. My aim is after the action, to go back to the page I was but since the action is place in contacts it returns to the default action of contacts. Is there anything I could do for this purpose? • Something wrong with redirects on my Joomla 1.5.18 site

  My Joomla 1.5.18 site, I enabled login, when I click login the page I get sent to is NOT styled with CSS. If I login it redirects to the home page and it is not styled anymore either. It looks like it is recursively appending stuff to the URL incorrectly. http://www.myjoomlasite.org/index.php/index.php/login if I click on home page or login links it keeps putting more and more index.php entries in the URL, and sometimes on the end. The following is what I get when I try and go to a JEvents menu item. http://www.myjoomlasite.org/index.php/index.php/index.php/index.php/upcomingevents/month.calendar/2010/06/09/index.php Anyone have any idea why this is happening? I don't know what to search for on Google apparently, and none of the Joomla! books I have address this.

  Wondering if anyone know how to automatically send the user an email after he/she fills out a form. I have the form emailed to me after it gets submitted, but I can't figure out how to capture the user's email from the form field and have it send it to them automatically??? • Website/App on Dotcloud is down

  The website is nhslhs.tk . The last time I edited something was four days ago. I tried to get a calendar on the Django datable, but deleted it all and never actually pushed it to the Dotcloud server. Also, few hours before that I was able to update HTML files, push them, and see the edits on the website. The link should take you to a log-in page (this is available when you google "nhslhs.tk" and click cache view) but it takes you to a search magnified advertisement-esque page. On a few sites, people claimed the error was due to a Trojan horse virus or server being down. Do you know how to fix this? Thanks!

• Django 1.2: Dates in admin forms don't work with Locales (I10N=True)

  I have an application in Django 1.2. Language is selectable (I18N and Locale = True) When I select the english lang. in the site, the admin works OK. But when I change to any other language this is what happens with date inputs (spanish example): Correctly, the input accepts the spanish format %d/%m/%Y (Even selecting from the calendar, the date inserts as expected). But when I save the form and load it again, the date shows in the english form: %Y-%m-%d The real problem is that when I load the form to change any other text field and try to save it I get an error telling me to enter a valid date, so I have to write all dates again or change the language in the site to use the admin. I haven't specified anything for DATE_INPUT_FORMATS in settings nor have I overridden forms or models. Surely I am missing something but I can't find it. Can anybody give me a hint?

• Reduce text length to fit cell width in a smart manner

  Hello, I am in project where we are building a simple web calendar using Java EE technologies. We define a table where every row is an employee, and every column represents an hour interval. The table width and column widths are adjustable. In every cell we have a text retrieved from a database, indicating what the employee is doing / should do in that time interval. The problem is that sometimes the text in cells is getting bigger than the actual cell. My task is to make the text more "readable" by reducing it's length in a "smart way" so that it can fit in the cell more "gracefully". For example if initially in a cell I have: "Writing documents", after the resize I should retrieve: "Wrtng. dcmnts" or "Writ. docum." so that the text can fit well. Is there a smart way to do it ? Or removing vocals / split the string in two is enough ?

• Add Expansion Button to Stackpanel

  I'd like to add Elements to a StackPanel (or Listbox / Listview if it would make that easier) and automatically add a Button (like "...") to indicate that there are more children than there is space for. Consider a calendar that has appointment items in each day. If there are more appointments than as much as can be displayed a button is displayed to go to a detailed view for that day. Can this be done automatically, or how do I calculate the positions of the stackpanel and its items. It's for windows store development in c#. Thanks in advance.

  I've got an input field in a form that needs a date value. I'm using jQuery UI's datepicker for the calendar and I've set a range for it. However, the user can override that by typing a different date in the input field. How can I specify a date range for the field with jQuery validation? All I see with jQuery is that you can only specify that the field be a date type. Can I create min and max values that work with dates?

  I'm trying to figure out dates in Java and am completely lost. Do I use Date? Use epoch time? Gregorian Calendar? Let's say I have a want to store a date, then later compare it to other dates. For example, I've stored a date "10/27/2013". Then, I want to later compare it to dates entered later to see if a later date is identical to "10/27/2013", or if just the day, year, or month matches? What's the best way to do this?

  I have an existing Crystal Report done in Crystal Reports version 9. I need to display it via an ASP website created in Visual Studio 2008. I have put the Crystal data source and viewer controls on the design page and configured the controls to use the crystal report but cannot seem to figure out how to pass a date to the report which uses it as an input parameter for a SQL Server 2005 stored procedure.   Hey, I'm totally behind this topic. Yesterday I was doing profiling using Python profiler module for some script I'm working on, and the unit for time spent was a 'CPU second'. Can anyone remind me with the definition of it? For example for some profiling I got: 200.750 CPU seconds. What does that supposed to mean? At other case and for time consuming process I got: -347.977 CPU seconds, a negative number! Is there anyway I can convert that time, to calendar time? Cheers,

• Site works perfect in Mozilla but not in IE. Is my js file not compatible with IE

  I'm working on a site written in PHP/MySQL. We have a form to reserve time on a calendar and it works great in Mozilla and stores the reservation to our database, but in IE you fill out the form and when you click the "Reserve" button to submit it and nothing happens. All I can think of is that my javascript is not working with IE. I have these lines in my .js file: resLenT = document.getElementById(resLenElem); resLenI = resLenT.selectedIndex; resLen = resLenI + 1; where resLenElem is a drop-down box. These are the only lines that I can think of at the moment that might be causing trouble in IE. Does this all sound like I'm on the right track or am I way off base?

Issue: Opening a view model in my application sometimes makes dropdowns/datepickers nonfunctional. ie. dropdown won't drop and the datepicker calendar won't come up I suspect a binding issue but don't see one. Dropdowns have normal things like strings, numbers. One drop has a list of mini views. Datepickers are bound to nullable dates set in the constructor of the viewmodel. Note: These same things work in other viewmodels/views. I can paste code, I'm just not sure what code is relevant here. Thank you for helping me :)

  I have a ArrayList returned from a service which contains date-timestamp as String values (with values: 2010-05-06T23:38:18,2010-05-06T23:32:52,2010-04-28T18:23:06,2010-04-27T20:34:02,2010-04-27T20:37:02) to be more specific, This is part of a parent ArrayList ObjectHistory. This list contains the datestamp and serial number. I need to pick the correct serial number. Objecthistory is the List object and I need to get the latest timestamp within this ObjectHistory. I need to pick the latest timestamp from this Arraylist in Java 6. How should I be doing this? Should I do convert these values into calendar-time? I am in panic mode as this has to be done directly in production.

• Display Outlook rooms occupancy in a web page

  Hi everybody, I'm decommissioning a meeting room scheduling [web] tool in favor of the same Outlook's functionality. I'd like, however, to publish (read-only) a "Group Schedule" view in a web page. To make the idea more clear: On Outlook's Calendar view, select Actions / View Group Schedules and then create a new group for say, Conference Rooms. This new view will give a global view of Conference Rooms occupancy. I need a way to publish this room's occupancy. Any idea or suggestion? Thanks in advance
