  Before asking this question : i have gone through this link How do I allow remote access to mysql using xampp? But i couldnt make it up !!! i have installed xampp using xamppinstaller.exe and its version is 3.1.0. i am heidisql Gui for database managament i tried the same by changing the # bind-address from "127.0.0.1" to my system ip address as # bind-address to "192.168.1.69" After changing and restarting my xampp mysql i went to other system and tried to login (hedisql) with the hostname 192.168.1.69 and it gave me an error saying Error 1130(0000): host' ....' is not allowed to connect to this mysql server. what should i do please help me !!

• Almost working 2D Collisions

  I'm terribly sorry I'm asking this question YET AGAIN, but I can almost guarantee that this will be the last time I'll have to ask. I'm currently on the verge of FINALLY getting these collisions to work for my game, made with libGDX in Java. My collisions use the same method as (and are basically copied and modified code from) the XNA Platformer example (here) where the direction of the collision is based on the rectangle where two objects are overlapping. The collisions themselves almost work perfectly, but for some reason, holding down/up and left and colliding with the floor/ceiling while doing so doesn't seem to work well. I'm not at all sure why. Instead of vaguely giving my problem and snippets of code, I've decided to instead provide a binary and the source of the game I have so far so you can see for yourself what my problem is. Link. (Note: make sure you unzip everything into a folder somewhere or it will not work) You'll find the collision code in the method workingCollisions() in Link.java. Please excuse the messy code and terrible graphics as this whole thing is in pre-pre-alpha. If anyone is kind enough and helps me out here, you are the best person ever. • Yahoo media player not working with Ruby on rails

  I have a yahoo media player embedded in my webpage. I am currently using Ruby on Rails to create/edit my web page. When i click the play button next to a track the YMP waits a while and then goes to the next track without playing the first one. I then get a warning on my second (last) track that its file could not be found. Does anyone has a better recommendation for an audio player or a way to fix this one?

• Adventures in Windows 8: Working around the navigation animation issues in LayoutAwarePage

  LayoutAwarePage is a pretty cool add-on to Windows 8 apps, which facilitates greatly the implementation of orientation-aware (portrait, landscape) as well as state-aware (snapped, filled, fullscreen) apps. It has however a few issues that are obvious when you use transformed elements on your page. Adding a LayoutAwarePage to your application If you start with a blank app, the MainPage is a vanilla Page, with no such feature. In order to have a LayoutAwarePage into your app, you need to add this class (and a few helpers) with the following operation: Right click on the Solution and select Add, New Item from the context menu. From the dialog, select a Basic Page (not a Blank Page, which is another vanilla page). If you prefer, you can also use Split Page, Items Page, Item Detail Page, Grouped Items Page or Group Detail Page which are all LayoutAwarePages. Personally I like to start with a Basic Page, which gives me more creative freedom. Adding this new page will cause Visual Studio to show a prompt asking you for permission to add additional helper files to the Common folder. One of these helpers in the LayoutAwarePage class, which is where the magic happens. LayoutAwarePage offers some help for the detection of orientation and state (which makes it a pleasure to design for all these scenarios in Blend, by the way) as well as storage for the navigation state (more about that in a future article). Issue with LayoutAwarePage When you use UI elements such as a background picture, a watermark label, logos, etc, it is quite common to do a few things with those: Making them partially transparent (this is especially true for background pictures; for instance I really like a black Page background with a half transparent picture placed on top of it). Transforming them, for instance rotating them a bit, scaling them, etc. Here is an example with a picture of my two beautiful daughters in the Bird Park in Kuala Lumpur, as well as a transformed TextBlock. The image has an opacity of 40% and the TextBlock a simple RotateTransform. If I create an application with a MainPage that navigates to this LayoutAwarePage, however, I will have a very annoying effect: The background picture appears with an Opacity of 100%. The TextBlock is not rotated. This lasts only for less than a second (during the navigation animation) before the elements “snap into place” and get their desired effect.   When the Windows Firewall Service is disabled I cannot remote desktop (RDP) to the machine. Has anyone seen this? This is on Win7 64 Enterprise on a domain. Is it some sort of domain policy perhaps? EDIT: Yes, when the firewall service is enabled, RDP works like a charm. I can also ping the system when the firewall service is on, but not when it is off. I am starting to suspect some sort of corporate imposed security policy, but GPedit hasn't really showed anything of significance.

• Why isn't this simple CRON job working?

  I am on Ubuntu server and would like to send an email to myself every 10 minutes (as a test). The code for that is in this file: /var/www/cron-test.php To set up the cron I typed: crontab -e and added this line to the bottom of the file using nano editor: ### email me every 10 min. */10 * * * * /var/www/cron-test.php But that script is not running every 10 minutes. I only recieve the email if I load the PHP script directly in my browser. The cron doesn't seem to be executing at all. What am I doing wrong? Also this is my first time setting up a cron so putting the cron script in my www folder is probably not a good idea, should I put it elsewhere? If so where? Also is there a cron error log? Where all failed crons can be seen?

• How to allow an internal server accept remote connections not through RD Gateway

  So, I help administrate a collection of servers running various windows server environments. We have a RD Gateway server, properly configured, to gatekeep for us. It does not have the other servers listed in it's server farm category, though. I just added a refurbished server for a non-profit development environment that is sharing the rack space and port. I would like this server to be accessible via remote connection, but not require RD gateway certification (I cannot add the users for this development server to our gateway since they do not work for the organization hosting the rack.) Is there any way for me to add this dev. server as an exception to which servers should require RD Gateway clearance, or otherwise let users bypass RD gateway credentials for this one machine? Thanks, and let me know if I am misinformed on how RD gateway works or anything. I am still learning.

• Capital D key not working / producing output

  For some inexplicable reason the capital d key on my Ubuntu system is no longer producing output. Hitting caps lock and then d produces a D. I've tried multiple keyboards and the issue is the same. • Tumblr Custom URL Not Working

  I have bought a domain that I want to use as a unique Tumblr website but I can't get the url to pick up on Tumblr settings. The domain is a .com registered with 123-reg. I've set the CNAME to the correct tumblr url and also set the A record too. When I visit the url I get the Tumblr error page so I know that the domain is pointing, however when I go to settings in Tumblr and "Test" the url it says that it's not pointing and I can't save it. What could be the problem?

• DRAC for remote OS install w/o Virtual Media

  I have a few DELL servers in a remote DC and our ISP has been very kind about doing OS installs for us. However, as we move to Production and multiple DC's I'd like to be able to do the installs/re-installs internally and DRAC Enterprise w/SDRAM seems ideal. My question is, how do you get your install ISO's on to the SDRAM? Can I just copy it from a local DVD (temp USB hookup) or FTP? What's the advantage to the SDRAM over just buying a USB dongle (to leave plugged into the server) and installing a bootable install ISO? We're a virtual org generally using DSL (2mb) connections to the DC over the Internet and using 'Virtual Media' isn't viable for us.

• HP Media Smart remote access

  I just purchased this box for home backups for my pc's and mac's. Everything works great accept for the remote access part. I can RD into the machine locally but I can't get to it from outside of my network. I've enabled port forwarding on my router but it doesn't seem to matter. I checked with Qwest and they don't block these ports so I'm at a loss. I do have Vonage in front of my router but I've taken it out and it didn't make a difference. I suspect I've made an error with my router setup. I'm a programmer and I'm playing in the world of the unknown here. I'm lost. Any suggestions?

• Software center is not working after attempt to install skype

  I am completely new person on Linux. I installed it just today and i have to say I like them a lot, until I faced the problem. I was looking on the internet but nothing worked for me. After i downloaded skype and tried to run it, software center showed up and was loading something for 5 mins. then it just dessapeared. Now everytime I try to turn it on, the window is gone after 3 sec. I tried to kill it but didnt really wokrked.   I am having a problem with the shutdown dialog box for Ubuntu 12.04. If I am logged in as any user and press shutdown, I see the box with the question 'Are you sure..." and its usual options. Shutting down when I am not logged in as a specific user, however, displayed only square boxes. An image of this error can be found here: I believe this error started a few weeks ago when i accidentally changed the group for my root system directory, so it might be a permission thing or an improperly assigned group lingering somewhere. The trouble is that I don't know where the text for this box is stored, and no idea where to begin checking. Can any one point me in the right direction?

• DVD Drive Burner Not Working

  I'm attempting to burn Bodhi Linux to a blank DVD. It's a dual-layered DVD+R DL disc and my drive has burned to these discs before. I know bodhi will fit on a regular DVD or a CD but all I have at the moment is the dual layered DVDs. The computer I'm putting bodhi on doesn't support booting from USB either. When I try to write the bodhi iso to the DVD with xfburn, I get this error: http://i.stack.imgur.com/lxs0O.png I was able to burn to these exact DVDs about a week ago, preparing a video compilation using devede and xfburn. Using k3bm, I get an error saying "Failed To Write" and when using brasero (as a last attempt) I received the same error as with xfburn.

• Dual nVidia GPUs (3 monitors) not working in 11.10

  after searching I have not found a solution. I have 2 nvidia quadro 295 cards with 3 monitors but I can not extend twinview across multiple GPUs. I have the most recent nvidia proprietary drivers installed, and they work fine for the single GPU / dual monitors. I tried using xinerama, but without success. I don't mind switching to the nouveau drivers if that would handle my multiple monitors, although I would like to continue to use unity and compiz if i can).

The most simplest and reliable way to upgrade your RDA installation is delete or move your old installation to a new location. Then install the new release into the location you had the prior release installed. If you want to reuse you old setup.cfg file, you can place the older version into the new <rda> directory and it will try to upgrade your setup.cfg to the new features. A second approach is to install the latest RDA into another directory, then if needed copy the old setup.cfg file to the new RDA directory. When the new RDA is run for the first time, it will try to upgrade your setup.cfg to the new features. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The upgrade method via Oracle Configuration Manager is nice because it allows RDA to be auto updated whenever a new release of RDA is made available (which roughly speaking is every 3 months).
