  • Widgets and .mobi sites, is this possible?

    I have a couple of concerns, I'm busy building a normal .mobi site for a client, so basically how I understand this is keep it simply since most phones do not support JavaScript and have a small screen etc. So I build a mobi site using only content and basic links. Now my question is how do mobi widgets work on a mobile site? I've googled and could not find a answer? Is this possible at all?

  • Javascipt select a sentence in textarea

    I'm thinking if there is a way to use javascript to pick up ANY ONE sentence from a textarea simply by clicking any position within that sentence. I'm thinking along the line of - first, get current cursor position (which I know how) - second, somehow locate the position of the previous fullstop and the next fullstop (how?) - take whatever content within the two fullstops. (how?) Or there is a simple way to do it?

    Hi, so..I followed doctrine documnetation to get started. Here is the documentation http://www.doctrine-project.org/documentation/manual/1_2/en/working-with-models#dealing-with-relations:retrieving-related-records My code is $User = Doctrine_Core::getTable("User")->find(1); when I access relations by $User-Phonenumbers, it works. When I convert User object to array by using toArray() method, it does not convert relations to array. It simply display $User data. Am i missing something?

    I like Yelp but I've never liked putting all of my eggs in one basket. I am about to launch a site this year (hopefully before July) that will rely heavily on Yelp for local businesses, restaurants, reviews, etc. Are there any other noteworthy competitors out there with API's? Basically, if my user is going to be in Tampa, I simply want to find restaurants, golf courses, etc. Thanks for any suggestions.

    I think that subject summs it pretty well... I have created my custom validators that work great when I put them on page in design mode. However if I place them in a usercontrol, and then try to add this user control to the parent page via updatepanel, then my custom validators just won't trigger. They simply don't work. Does anyone have any clue on what I have to do here? .net 3.5

    Hello all I was wondering how it's possible to find out if an image in the iPhone photo library is isotropic or anisotropic. Basically how many millimeters each pixel measures in height and in width. In JPG images the information is hardcoded into the data stream so it's possible to do by simply pointing a const char* to the image file, but I'm not sure I can do that with the data the iPhone image returns.     Let's say I have a base class called Pet and two subclasses Cat and Dog that inherit Pet. I simply map these to three tables Pet, Cat and Dog, where the Pet table contains the base class properties and the Cat and Dog tables contain a foreign key to the Pet table and any additional properties specific to a cat or dog. A joined subclass strategy. Now, using NHibernate and ICriteria, how can I get a list of "pure" Pet objects (not cats or dogs, just pets), without making any joins to the other tables?

Currently I'm using the one found at thehorizontalway.com but it doesn't seem to work in all browsers (Chrome).     I have checked the servers (Win Server 2003) application event logs for the following problem http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308097 which doesn't show up. It just appears that sessions drop randomly for random users It's a single server setup, no web farms and no load balancing Even though the issue I point to above doesn't occur in the logs, is it worth increasing the stateNetworkTimeout attribute anyway? The configuration at the moment is simply <sessionState mode="StateServer" cookieless="false" stateConnectionString="tcpip=localhost:42424" timeout="60"/>

    I'm trying to add a range of - 365 days and + 365 days but it appears that using this attribute in EL 4.1 only accepts a special ISO formatted string ... thus I can't simply add a normal string to this validation routine. <DateTimeRangeValidator(DateTime.Now.AddDays(2), DateTime.Now.AddDays(4))> _ I wanted to do something similar to the above - fyi Does anyone know how you can force this attribute to accept this ISO formatted string w/out hand coding this value?

  • libpcap packet size

    I'm working with libpcap in C on linux (centos) and I'm following this guide I want to simply print out the entire packet in ascii and i'v managed to get it working by casting it a u_char* in the "my_callback" function. But I can't figure out how to get the length of the data. strstr didn't work. the header has a len member that you can access to get the size but I can't find anything similar for the *packet being passed. Any help is appreciated.

    Hello, We have a series of products with built in web servers each of which has a login page, a customer wants to create a web portal in which they log into once, from there they can simply click on any of the devices (external websites) and it will automatically login to that site and redirect them to the page after the login screen. The portal is using ASP.NET MVC, the external devices are Windows CE based units running embedded web servers. Can find a lot on scraping, but not much on redirection after the event.   • What good alternatives to CHM are there for context sensitive help documents in desktop applications

    We currently have a number of desktop applications (PowerBuilder, Winforms, WPF) that make use of a single CHM for context sensitive help. We'd like to move away from CHM as it's difficult to maintain but we've not found a suitable alternative. Ideally we'd like our developers to keep the help files up to date (perhaps in a wiki) as they add funtionality and simply export this to PDF or something like that, but is it possible to use a PDF for context sensitve help, or are there any other promising alternative to CHM?
