    I just got Windows 7. However, I'm now unable to connect to the internet. Doing the diagnosis gives me these: There might be a problem with the driver for the Local Area Connection Adapter The Local Area Connection 2 Adapter is disabled How do I resolve those? These are the things I've tried: In cmd do ipconfig /renew In Device Manager, go to Network Adapter. (I don't see any red exclamation marks)

    Does running multiple coaxial splitters on a single coaxial cable line effect quality of service for cable internet connections? Suppose there are 2-4 splitters between the cable line coming into a building before the connection to a cable modem, does this negatively effect the latency, throughput, etc of a cable internet connection by any measurable amount? Is there a maximum number of times that a coaxial cable can be split into multiple internet and TV connections before QoS suffers?

  • slow pppoe connection using Ubuntu 9.10

    I have a Compaq Presario CQ61, instaled Ubuntu 9.10 and Windows 7 on it. It works great except the PPPoE connection in Ubuntu, when i dial in Windows my download speed reach up to 91 Mb, rebooted in Ubuntu, downloaded same file from the same server with a speed of maximum 3 Mb, cheked in Windows again 80 - 90 Mb constant. I can't figure what slow's the internet connection in Ubuntu. Anyone has an ideea on this problem ? (NO iptables configured, NO HTB, CBQ ...etc configured) . Thank you

    Development of the free application Putty Connection Manager that can display more than one Putty sessions stopped in 2009, and it sometimes triggers this error when I double-click on any host in the right hand-side list: PuTTY Connection Manager/An unexpected error occured : Object reference not set to an instance of an object.. When that happens, I have to reboot :-/ Does someone know of an alternative? Thank you.

    Hi, I want to connect to the SSH server on my jailbreaked iPhone via the USB connection (because that connection is much faster than WLAN) from MacOSX. Right now I am using this: http://novis.jimdo.com/2009/10/18/ssh-relay-aka-iphone-tunnel-version-3/ However, this is really buggy and always breaks when I am transfering a lot of data.   • Connection error when trying to browse SSAS cube in BIDS

    SQL Server 2008 db instance is installed on a win 2003 server, networked (but no domain) VM. I can browse a cube from BIDS on the same VM, but when I try to browse the same cube on a windows 7 (home premium) networked machine, I get a connection error. The error suggests checking the datasource settings which I have, and when I click "test connection" on the datasource it is successful. Looking for probably causes and solutions?

The problem with window remote desktop connection is that it does not support realtime. By "Realtime", I mean it does not display what I am doing on the computer being controlled. Any suggestions?

    When working from Windows, I prefer to use RoyalTS instead of the default Microsoft RDP client, because it allows me to save multiple connections, the credentials of the connection, etc; as well has having more than 1 connection open at a time. Is there a similar (or any) alternative to the Microsoft RDP client for connecting from OSX to Windows? Aside from VNC, that is; at this point I'm hoping to continue using the RDP protocol.

    Hi I have no idea on this problem. My wireless connection doesn't work sometimes. I find it's due to my XP and I have no problem with my Win 7 machine. The problem is - Internet Connection a bit slower than usual Limit connectivity issue I use netsh reset for resetting network configurations but it helps sometimes or not help at all. Any ideas?     When I am trying to connect to a MySQL database from a remote computer I get a prompt saying: Connection Failed: [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Can't Connect to MySQL server on 'XXX.XXX.XX.XX' (10060) I have created a user account in the MySQL Administrator and added a host to enable remote access, I have also made an exception for my Windows Firewall on port 3306 but the connection still fails.     We are expecting a large number of users to hit a Website built with IIS/.Net 4.0 that our SQL Server 2008 database server is providing data for. The database is around 2GB in size. We are contemplating increasing the MAX CONNECTION POOL to between 500 to 1000 -- to handle the estimated traffic. Two questions (1) Does anyone have any hard performance numbers indicating the kind of improvement this may provide? (2) What is the impact of hitting that MAX CONNECTION POOL number in a production enviroment?

I'm trying to determine if the application is re-using it's connection to the SQL server or is creating new connections on a regular basis. Using SQL Profiler I've audited for login events, but that appears to generate an event every time a SQL statement is executed even with apps that I know are maintaining their connection to SQL.

    Hi, Windows 7 is a great OS but there are some problems which should be solved from Microsoft as fast as possible. On my Computer the LAN connection randomly loses its connection. I don't know why but I think this problem depends on my network driver which is only available for Windows XP (where it always worked perfectly). I can not reproduce this issue. Also the only answer there is not useful. I have had this connection for about 2 weeks with no problems, but suddenly, yesterday, it happened a few times and today it has happened at least 8 times so far.
