We're seeing lots of virtual memory fragmentation and out of memory errors and then it hits the 3GB limit.
The compilation debug is set to true in the web.config but I get different answers from everyone i ask, does debug set to true cause each aspx to compile into random areas of ram thus fragmenting that ram and eventually causing out of memory problems?
Hi, guys,
I find stackoverflow is very friendly, professional and easy to use. Goole webiste is great too.
I knows little of web site development, since most of my time was working on C++.
There are many choices, so where is the start point, asp, jsp, python, php, etc?
Which technology I should use?
Which books are essential to website dev?
Hello.
I'm looking to output some HTML to a web page using F#. Any ideas on the best way to achieve this? I could use ASP.NET but I don't really want anything too bulky.
I'm looking for a nice tutorial or framework for developing Python written web applications.
I've done lots in PHP, but very little in Python or Ruby and figured I'd start with the first one alphabetically.
I'm developing a VB.Net web service application with a purpose of authenticating users credentials from Active Directory. I'm using VirtualBox and installed Windows 2003 standard server with AD role. I'm having problems connecting to the server. Any ideas?
How would i go about creating an application for my web page that can extract data from my database (i currently get the data in a CSV file). id also like the user to be able to filter the data by certain parameters. can u help
I've looked at a lot of the previous questions asked about sharepoint and accessing objects via web-services, and I am pretty convinced that tasks can be accessed through the Lists interface.
Can anybody please verify this for me?
Also, if anyone has any examples of this I would be very grateful. I'm not a Sharepoint guy but I need to connect to an instance just to retrieve task objects.
In silverlight 3 I had an object that had a property that was an observable collection. I returned this via a web service then databinded to it.
Upgrade to silveright 4.....
Now my program crashes because the Observable Collection is converted to an array.
What is the best way to do this? Observable collection is not even an option any longer.
What programming language + web framework combinations supports static type-checking? I'm not scared of functional programming (I'd prefer it), however I'm looking for a mature framework with the bells and whistles we've come to expect. Obviously this includes security and efficiency concerns.
I'm looking for a Java web framework that requires the most minimal amount of configuration for a very small app. Spring & Struts are definitely overkill here. This is an app that could be written without any framework at all but I would prefer to use a minimal MVC framework if I can find one.
I have a normal web service. Many java and .net users are accessing it. Can I update it to wcf without anyone having to change their code? Any tutorials?
What artifacts / diagrams do use to document the flow of a web application taking into account links between static pages and how dynamic view components (html forms, JSP, Ajax, etc) interact with server-side components (Servlets, Struts actions, etc)? Do use UML diagrams?
I'm working on a web based form builder that uses a mix of Jquery and PHP server side interaction. While the user is building the form I'm trying to determine the best method to store each of one of the form items before all the data is sent to the server. I've looked at the following methods
Javascript arrays
XML document
Send each form item to the server side to be stored in a session

I currently am working on a web application that needs to collect data from a form and will take the information and put it in a report format and sent it to a fax machine and print it out.
What is the easiest way to do this. I would like it to act similar to collecting informastion off of a form and then sending an email, but I would like to send it to a fax instead.
Thanks!
I'm designing a web application.
I was wondering if it was feasible to design a php front end (using some php framework e.g. CakePHP), which stores and retrieves data to display to the user.
Then develop a java backend which listens to the database for changes, and depending on what was changed, performs some actions and updates the database.
Any thoughts on this type of implementation would be appreciated.

I need to implement a Web Service in PHP, but I've never written one in it (I nowadays use ASP.net which handles all that SOAP/WSDL/Disco stuff for me).
Are there any libraries/Frameworks for that? Should be as lightweight as possible as they wire into an existing system.
This question goes out to those who have used Tapestry as a web framework and then either gave it up or switched to something else, or even ported their application from Tapestry to something else.
The question is why? What led you to make this change?
EDIT: Also, what framework (if any) did you change to?
