• How to use ocx in .Net windows application

  I have to use a ocx in .Net application. In the toolbox, i right clicked and from com tab added the ocx. Now the ocx appeared in the toolbox and added the control to the form. Whe i execute the application got this error 'Could not load file or assembly 'Interop.WINCMP3XLib, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.'. Can you help me what else needs to be done. I also used the Aximp tool to convert the wrapper dll for the ocx. Now when I used this dll, i could not access the method in the dll. Please can anyone tell me the best way for using ocx in .Net application. Thanks

• How can I make the modal popup scroll its contents with the page?

  I've got a modal popup and when it loads contents that are taller than the browser height I am unable to scroll down to view the rest of the information. Instead the background can scroll but the popup won't. Instead I'd like to have the popup stay put and when the user scrolls up or down it leave the popup in place and let them scroll to the bottom of the contents. If you make a super long post on Facebook the popup works correctly and I'd like to know how I can get this same effect with this control.

  Hello, I thought that this was easier… I have a asp:hyperlink control, with target=”_blank”, pointing to the file I want the user to download. My plan is to track the number of times, the users click on this link. I thought in placing it in ajax update panel, to catch the postback and avoid full page refresh. However, hyperlink doesn’t have a onClick method. On the other hand I could use a linkbutton, which has a onClick built in. But It’s harder to make the file open in a new window… and I would also have to do something like: Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition","attachment; filename=myImage.jpg"); But I heard that the above approach has some problems with PPT, PPTX, PPS, PPSX… What is you'r opinion on this? How and why, would you do it?

  Hi guys! so as title says, I would like to hear your advices what are the most important questions to consider and ask end-users before designing database for their application. We are to make database-oriented app, with special attenion to pay on db security (access control, encryption, integrity, backups)... Database will also keep some personal information about people, which is considered sensitive by law regulations, so security must be good. I worked on school projects with databases, but this is first time working "in real world", where this db security has real implications. So I found some advices and questions to ask on internet, but here I always get best ones. All help appreciated! Thank you!

• Amazon S3 Change file download name

  I have files stored on S3 with a GUID as the key name. I am using a pre signed URL to download as per S3 REST API I store the original file name in my own Database. When a user clicks to download a file from my web application I want to return their original file name, but currently all they get is a GUID. How can I achieve this? My web app is in salesforce so I do not have much control to do response.redirects all download the file to the web server then rename it due to governor limitations. Is there some HTML redirect, meta refresh, Javascript I can use? Is there some way to change the download file name for S3 (the only thing I can think of is coping the object to a new name, downloading it, then deleting it). I want to avoid creating a bucket per user as we will have a lot of users and still no guarantee each file with in each bucket will have a unique name Any other solutions?

• Using MobileMe idisk as a git repository

  I am trying to use git and MobileMe as a version control system for a personal project I am working across several computers. So far i have done the following. Created and empty bare repository on my local computer $ mkdir myproject.git $ cd myproject.git $ git init --bare $ git update-server-info I then copied the myproject.git directory to the mobile me disk, and sync my computer with mobile me. I then switched to the directory where my project was on my local machine, set the remote origin and try to push the local repository to mobile me $ cd myproject $ git remote add origin https://<username>@idisk.me.com/<username>/myproject.git/ $ git push --all Im am then asked for my password twice. The first time is the mobile me password, any other password gets an error. After entering the second password, and believe me i've tried everything, terminal just hangs. So what am I doing wrong?   I am checking for XSS vulnerabilities in a web application I am developing. This Rails app uses the h method to sanitize HTML it generates. It does, however, make use of the jQueryUI autocomplete widget (new in latest release), where I don't have control over the generated HTML, and I see tags are not getting escaped there. The data fed to autocomplete is retrieved through a JSON request immediately before display. I Possibilities: 1) Autocomplete has an option to sanitize I don't know about 2) There is an easy way to do this in jQuery I don't know about 3) There is an easy way to do this in a Rails controller I don't know about (where I can't use the h method) 4) Disallow < symbol in the model Sugestions?

  I am customizing the ajax html editor. I am creating a class which derives from ajax html editor, and overriding FillTopToolbar() method to have limited toolbar buttons. I am trying to use this in my aspx page. <%@ Register namespace="Content" tagprefix="edit" %> <edit:MyEditor runat="server" Width="100%" Height="250px"/> I am able to see the editor in my aspx page. The problem comes when I give an ID to the control <edit:QNAEditor ID="htmlEditor" runat="server" Width="100%" Height="250px"/> I get an error in the designer file in the below line. protected global::Content.MYHTMLEditor htmlEditor; I am not able to use it in code behind. • Parsing an RFC822-Datetime in .NETMF 4.0

  I have an application written in .NETMF that requires that I be able to parse an RFC822-Datetime. Normally, this would be easy, but NETMF does not have a DateTime.parse() method, nor does it have some sort of a pattern matching implementation, so I'm pretty much stuck. Any ideas? EDIT: "Intelligent" solutions are probably needed. Part of the reason this is difficult is that the datetime in question has a tendency to have extra spaces in it (but only sometimes). A simple substring solution might work one day, but fail the next when the datetime has an extra space somewhere between the parts. I do not have control over the datetime, it is from the NOAA.

• Nested flowlayout panel not wrapping

  I've got a FlowLayoutPanel with properties: Dock = Fill (in a usercontrol) FlowDirection = TopDown WrapContents = false I do it this way so that each item added to the panel gets added to the bottom. The items that I add to this panel are usercontrols which themselves have FlowLayoutPanels on them, however they have the standard behaviour (LeftToRight, WrapContents = true). The problem that I'm having is that the interior usercontrol's FlowLayoutPanel isn't resizing to fill the outer control, but when I set autosizing to true on these controls, then the panel won't wrap its contents - which is a known problem apparently. • Flex: vertical gap between list items not working

  I have a list item with buttons in it like so: <mx:List contentBackgroundAlpha="0" baseColor="0x333333" leading="10" id="weekButtonList" width="260" borderVisible="false" dataProvider="{_data.mappoints.week.@number}" itemClick="onWeekClick(event);" > <mx:itemRenderer > <mx:Component> <mx:Button buttonMode="true" width="260" height="50" label="Week {data}" /> </mx:Component> </mx:itemRenderer> </mx:List> No matter what I do, these buttons have a vertical gap inbetween them. I have tried everything from setting the "vertical-gap" property to negative and positive numbers as well as changing the padding-bottom and padding-top on them. I want the buttons to be right up against eachother vertically. I have also tried "button-height" and padding on the List component...still nothing. How do I control this?

• c# winforms - scrollable panel with rectangles

  Hi, I'm new to winforms and have tried to track down an answer to the following with no luck ... I have a panel in winforms and add to it a Rectangle that is wider than the panel itself. I've set the panel AutoScroll property to true however the panels horizontal scrollbar never appears. Why is this? And how do I get the scrollbar to scroll? Here is my code to add the rectangle: private void panel1_Paint(object sender, PaintEventArgs e) { Graphics g = e.Graphics; Rectangle rec = new Rectangle(2, 2, 400, 40); g.DrawRectangle(new Pen(Color.Black), rec); g.FillRectangle(new SolidBrush(Color.Blue), rec); } If I add a Label control to the panel and give it a text value that will go beyond the bounds of the panel - then the autoscroll works, but just not for a rectangle.   Is there a way to modularize JMeter tests. I have recorded several use cases for our application. Each of them is in a separate thread group in the same test plan. To control the workflow I wrote some primitives (e.g. postprocessor elements) that are used in many of these thread groups. Is there a way not to copy these elements into each thread group but to use some kind of referencing within the same test plan? What would also be helpful is a way to reference elements from a different file. Does anybody have any solutions or workarounds. I guess I am not the only one trying to follow the DRY principle...

• How do I give each test its own TestResults folder?

  I have a set of unit tests, each with a bunch of methods, each of which produces output in the TestResults folder. At the moment, all the test files are jumbled up in this folder, but I'd like to bring some order to the chaos. Ideally, I'd like to have a folder for each test method. I know I can go round adding code to each test to make it produce output in a subfolder instead, but I was wondering if there was a way to control the output folder location with the Visual Studio unit test framework, perhaps using an initialization method on each test class so that any new tests added automatically get their own output folder without needing copy/pasted boilerplate code?

  Hello all, I am getting some odd behavior from stock table cells, or maybe not odd, maybe I am making some assumptions. I create the cells as follows: cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; Then I assign an image to the default imageView property. My image usually comes in from a user, so it might be larger than the default size. To take care of this I: [cell.imageView setContentMode:UIViewContentModeScaleAspectFit]; which I expected to scale the image for me within the control, but in reality, the images are all over the map. So, is there a proper way to constrain the image in stock cell types? Thanks in advance!

• Is there a way to make sure a background process spawned by my program is killed when my process ter

  Basically the child process runs indefinitely until killed in the background, and I want to clean it up when my program terminates for any reason, i.e. via the Taskmanager. Currently I have a while (Process.GetProcessesByName("ParentProcess").Count() 0) loop and exit if the parent process isn't running, but it seems pretty brittle, and if I wanted it to work under debugger in Visual Studio I'd have to add "ParentProcess.vshost" or something. Is there any way to make sure that the child process end without requiring the child process to know about the parent process? I'd prefer a solution in managed code, but if there isn't one I can PInvoke. Edit: Passing the PID seems like a more robust solution, but for curiosity's sake, what if the child process was not my code but some exe that I have no control over? Is there a way to safeguard against possibly creating orphaned child processes?

• Java EE 6 - ordering Servlet Request Listeners

  Hi all, I finally updated to Java EE 6 (web profile) and would like to control the ordering of my servlet request listeners. I did that before through the XML ordering by listing the listeners in a particular order. Now, I have placed the @WebListener annotation on the classes which are listeners and am trying to figure out how to order the listeners such that they work properly. One must run before another one, otherwise, it won't have the information it needs and won't work. Also, it doesn't seem my listeners are actually being invoked even though they're marked with @WebListener. I am running embedded glassfish 3.0. Another question that is somewhat related - ServletRequestListeners in Java EE 6 by default are still synchronous meaning they're hit first, then servlet filters, right? ServletRequestListeners are not asynchronous where they merely get notified of an event without interrupting the execution? Walter

• JQuery, ASCX and webmethods not seems to be working

  Hi all, I have a cascading dropdown (3 of them) Type, Categories and Sub Categories. Type loads first and upon selection of Type, Category load and selection of Category, Sub Category loads. Also i have 2 buttons, "Add Category" and "Add Sub Category" Upon clicking on these buttons, i call a JQuery Modal Form to add them. I use Webmethod in code behind to add them to database This works perfectly in ASPX page. Since I need use this in 3-4 pages, i thought of making the above as User control (ASCX). When i try to use this in a webpage, the webmethods in ASCX don't get called. Is my approach correct? what should be done for my scenario lOoking forward for your suggestions. • Combobox in bound DataGridView

  Hi. I've got a DataGridView control which is bound to a database table. I want one of the columns in the gridview to be of combobox type. The combobox should contain a list of hardcoded strings, which is the same for all rows in the datagridview. One of the fields in my database table is an index for this list of hardcoded strings. I've programatically added a new column to the gridview of type "DataGridViewComboBoxColumn", which successfully creates the column with comboboxes in it. However, that's then not bound to the index field in my DB table. The index field in my DB table is actually automatically bound to a column via the DataAdapter::Fill method. I've set this column to hidden, so it's hidden to the user. Obviously just before updating the dataadapter, I can programatically fixup the hidden column in my datatable with the SelectedIndex of my combobox. Just wondering if there's a better way of doing this? Thankyou for any help with this, Dan.

• ASP.NET VB.NET GridView adding anchor tag to a cell

  I have an GridView control with some data in the first cell throughout the column. Ineed to make that cell data into a hyperlink (anchor tag) like the following. <a href=""myPage.aspx?r=" & strParam & """>" & strData & "</a>" Can anyone advise on the most effective way to do this? I am using a datatable and then assigning the datatable to the gridview. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I need to use the Sub GridView1_RowDataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As GridViewRowEventArgs). So I could add a hyperlink whatabout getting the parameters into the RowDataBound event is where my skills are falling down. Thank you

• SSIS DTSX File Repair Tool

  I'm working with an SSIS 2005 file that crashes Visual Studio 2005 on my workstation. This happens when I open the data flow diagram and Visual Studio attempts to validate the package. I can open it successfully on another computer though. The package itself is fairly simple and only has two control flow tasks and maybe ten tasks in the data flow. I'm wondering if there is a tool that goes through the XML in the dtsx file and repairs any issues or if this is even necessary. The dtsx file is about 171 kB and it seems like there's a lot in it considering what a simple package it is.
