  Hello I've a must to create wcf service with parameter. I'm following this http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wcf/thread/8f18aed8-8e34-48ea-b8be-6c29ac3b4f41 First this is that I don't know how can I set this custom behavior "MyServiceBehavior" in my Web.config in ASP.NET MVC app that will host it. As far as I know behaviors must be declared in section in wcf.config. How can I add reference there to my behavior class from service assembly? An second thing is that I the following example the create local host, but how I can add headers used in constructor when I use service reference and it will already create instance of web service, right? • Unable to format disk: 'The system cannot find the file specified'

  I have a USB flash drive, which I may have mucked up, so I used DISKPART's CLEAN to clean it up. I created a simple volume, and tried to format it. (This is all using Windows' disk management.) I was told The system cannot find the file specified. So I tried using DISKPART (as an admin): DISKPART select volume 9 Volume 9 is the selected volume. DISKPART format recommended DiskPart has encountered an error: The system cannot find the file specified. See the System Event Log for more information. DISKPART As you can see, no luck. When I plug the drive in, the computer makes a beep noise as though it has recognised something, but nothing appears in My Computer How can I format the disk so I can use it again?

• jqGrid - Problems opening in jquery tabs (on Firefox and Google Chrome)

  I have developed a very simple MVC app to test out trirand's jqGrid for MVC. The app opens a jqgrid in a jquery tab group and everything is ok with IE. However when I use Firefox jqgrid only opens occasionaly in the first tab (but not under any other tab), and in Chrome my jqgrids dont appear to open under any tab of the group. I'm a bit of an MVC newbie (and have only been testing jqgrid out for a few days), but I know my users will want to use different browsers. Trirand have not come back with any answer so wondered if anyone else had had a similar issue. I have really just implemented jqgrid as per the controllers and model in the sample application on the Trirand site, and then combined it with a straightforward jquery tab group. • Project Server 2007 install issue - ProjectEventService won't start

  Trying to install PS2007 with SP1 on Server 2003. The install goes fine, but when running the SharePoint Configuration Wizard, it fails at stage 6 of 12 with the error: Failed to register SharePoint Services. An exception of type System.InvalidOperationException was thrown. Additional exception information: Cannot start service ProjectEventService on computer '.'. From the PSCDiagnostics log: Exception: System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot start service ProjectEventService on computer '.'. --- System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. The ProjectEventService (Microsoft Office Project Server Event) won't even start manually using the Network Service account. Starting the service with a domain account works, but subsequently running the Config Wizard causes the service to be removed and re-provisioned to run using the Network Service account, which again fails. Presumably Network Service needs elevated permissions, but even adding it to the local Admin group makes no difference. Anyone come across this sort of issue before?

• Trouble Deploying .Net Framework 4 Website on IIS7

  Okay, I am trying to deploy a .Net framework 4 website on IIS7 server. I have already changed the application-pool's target framework to .Net 4, but the app is still showing me the error: "The configuration section 'system.web.extensions' cannot be read because it is missing a section declaration" I am guessing that has something to do with the new feature of .Net4 that lets me have a compact Web config file. I think for some reason IIS7 is not happy with this. What can I do to deploy this app successfully or do I have to scale back to v3.5? I am sure there is a solution out there. Do you have any suggestions?

  We have installed windows 2008 R2 enterprise on a Dell server. This server is placed remotely in data center and only administrator is going to access it for maintenance purpose. No multiple users or client remote access is needed Now during 'remote desktop services' role installation network admin accidentally selected 'per user/device' licensing mode. Because of which now 120 days free try period is ticking. Since only administrator is going to access this server remotely we need to have 'Remote control for administrators' licensing mode (like windows 2003) on it. How we can change licensing mode from 'per user/device' to 'Remote control for administrators' on 2008 server? Also will it be possible to do this change remotely using RDC session itself? or do i need to change it using physical console (if remote access is gonna be disabled during switch)?

• Long held AJAX connections being blocked by Anti-Virus

  Ok, this is downright bizarre. I am building a web application that relies on long held HTTP connection using COMET, and using this to stream data from the server to the application. Now, the problem is that this does not seem to go well with some anti-virus programs. We are now on beta, and some users are facing problems with the application when the anti-virus is enabled. It's not just one specific anti-virus either.. I found this work around for Avast when I looked online: http://avricot.com/blog/index.php?post/2009/05/20/Comet-and-ajax-with-Avast-s-shield-web-:-The-salvation-or-not However, anyone here has any suggestions on how to handled this? Should I send any specific header to please these security programs?

  Does anybody know if it is possible to access and manipulate an element in the html page that is rendered by the Silverlight 4 WebBrowser control. The scenario is like this. The user launches a Silverlight OOB application with elevated trust. The user manipulates some data in the application but must submit part of the data to an external web site. If I open the external site in a WebBrowser control, is there any way I can assist the user by pre filling some information in the external sites' web form via programmatic access to the DOM?

• ASP.NET MVC 2 and authentication using WIF (Windows Identity Foundation)

  Are there any decent examples of the following available: Looking through the WIF SDK, there are examples of using WIF in conjunction with ASP.NET using the WSFederationAuthenticationModule (FAM) to redirect to an ASP.NET site thin skin on top of a Security Token Service (STS) that user uses to authenticate (via supplying a username and password). If I understand WIF and claims-based access correctly, I would like my application to provide its own login screen where users provide their username and password and let this delegate to an STS for authentication, sending the login details to an endpoint via a security standard (WS-*), and expecting a SAML token to be returned. Ideally, the SessionAuthenticationModule would work as per the examples using FAM in conjunction with SessionAuthenticationModule i.e. be responsible for reconstructing the IClaimsPrincipal from the session security chunked cookie and redirecting to my application login page when the security session expires. Is what I describe possible using FAM and SessionAuthenticationModule with appropriate web.config settings, or do I need to think about writing a HttpModule myself to handle this? Alternatively, is redirecting to a thin web site STS where users log in the de facto approach in a passive requestor scenario?

I had to put a "return false" in order for the parent page to not postback (and I think the problem lies here...). Then, when I click in the ImageButton with the CommandName="Insert", instead of firing the ItemCommand event, it enters once again in the ItemDataBound handler. So, any ideas? Thanks!

  I'm new with Rundeck and completely amazed with it and I'm trying to execute a job and my scenario is detailed below: Rundeck is configured with ssh passwordless authentication for user master between node Server (rundeck server) and node Target (remote Solaris host) for user "master" In node Target I want to execute a script /app/acme/stopApp.sh with a user appmanager Normally and manually, when I need to run script above I proceed with ssh master@server sudo su - appmanager or simply ssh -t master@server 'sudo su - appmanager' works without password and finally run (as appmanager) /app/acme/stopApp.sh But I'm not sure how can I reproduce these steps using Rundeck. • Can't run MonoTouch App

  Hi guys, This is not a really Programming Question, but please bear with me as it's related to the IDE that we use to develop and I'm really Stuck! :( Every time I create a project (can be an empty project) I get the message above when pressing Run or Debug. I have no Web Servers running the Web Share is off, the Zend Server as well MAMP is Off, the app itself does nothing as it's a blank project and if I run it on the iPhone/iPad Simulator, the app just opens and closes automatically :-/ I'm all new to monoTouch, but I wonder, does anyone has this problem and know what should I do? • SoapHttpClientProtocol disable ssl certificate validation

  I need to tell my C# soap web service consumer to not validate the certificate and just accept it. Is this possible? Why: we publish a https-only web service. A client needs to consume it but has some kind of firewall/proxy (WebSense?) which does something to the certificate to make it fail validation. At this point I don't even know the details of what it does, but the customer appears to be ok with forfeiting the benefits of SSL, so I'm looking for a workaround.

• How to disable a McAfee service?

  I am trying to disable a McAfee Real-Time Protection service, but if I go into Services/Properties, then try to set it to Manual or Disable - it says that unable to open service McShield for writing on Local Computer. Error 5. Access is denied. I've tried logging in as an Admin, to no avail. I've tried resetting permissions in the registry to the key where the McAfee service is described...nothing helped. Logging in with Safe Mode did not help either. How can I disable this service? Is there a way to disable a service before even getting into Windows? P.S. Uninstalling McAfee is not an option.

  I am using WSPBuilder to create and deploy my web part from a user control, as shown here. This works perfectly well, but I have added another user control to the project. I am adding it in page_init by going the Page.LoadControl("~/_controltemplates/MyControl.ascx"); route. It builds successfully, but after adding it to the page, I get The referenced file '/MyControl.ascx' is not allowed on this page. This control is in the ControlTemplates folder in the hive. In the web.config for this sharepoint 2007 site, all items within _controltemplates are listed as safe, as shown here <SafeControl Src="~/_controltemplates/*" IncludeSubFolders="True" Safe="True" AllowRemoteDesigner="True" /> How do I get the ascx file to be allowed on the page and get this webpart to display successfully?

• ASP.Net error: “The type ‘foo’ exists in both ”temp1.dll“ and ”temp2.dll" (pt 2)

  I'm experiencing the same problem as in this question, but none of the answers fixed my problem. (edit: Setting the web.config batch attribute works, but that's a coverup, not a solution) The problem I'm having is with a User Control that I moved from the root directory to a subdirectory within the same Web Application project. It used to work fine before I moved it. When I moved it it started giving me the error message. It's saying that the class name exists in two dll files in Temporary ASP.NET Files. Sure enough, when I open Reflector, it's in two dlls. If I rename the class and ascx file, everything works fine. No usages of the original name exist within any of the files in my entire application. When I rename the file, I opened all of the dll files in Temporary ASP.NET Files with Reflector, and no references to the original class name exists. So where's this phantom reference coming from how can I fix this?

• Create files on C:\ root gives error 0x80070522

  One of our customers has just found a problem when trying to create a file on the root of the C:\ Drive, on a Windows 7 Professional PC. I know they shouln't be keeping files here, but there is a valid reason in this case, so I've relaxed the security on the root of C:\ by giving the group 'users' modify permission. Before I relaxed the security, the user was receiving 'access denied', but now they are receiving the message: An unexpected error is keeping you from creating the file. If you continue to recieve this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem. Error 0x80070522: A required priviledge is not held by the client. Googling for this suggests that it is caused by UAC, but how can I get round this when the user doesn't have admin rights on their PC?
