  • PHP Security checklist (injection, sessions etc)

    So what kind of things should a person using PHP and MySql be focused on to maximize security. Things I have done: -mysql_real_escape_string all inputs -validate all inputs after escaping em -Placed random alpha numerics before my table names -50character salt + Ripemd passwords Heres where I think I am slacking: -I know know nothing about sessions and securing them. How unsafe/safe is it if all you are doing is: session_start(); $_SESSION['login']= $login; and checking it with: session_start(); if(isset($_SESSION['login'])){ -I heard something about other forms of injection like cross site injection and what not... -And probably many other things I dont know about. Is there a "checklist"/Quicktut on making php secure? I dont even know what I should be worried about.I kinda regret now not building off cakephp since I am not a pro.

  • How to grab the lines AFTER a matched line in python

    Hi All, I am an amateur using Python on and off for some time now. Sorry if this is a silly question, but I was wondering if anyone knew an easy way to grab a bunch of lines if the format in the input file is like this: " Heading 1 Line 1 Line 2 Line 3 Heading 2 Line 1 Line 2 Line 3 " I won't know how many lines are after each heading, but I want to grab them all. All I know is the name, or a regular expression pattern for the heading. The only way I know to read a file is the "for line in file:" way, but I don't know how to grab the lines AFTER the line I'm currently on. Hope this makes sense, and thanks for the help!

  • Problem with variable argument function in C++

    I'm trying to create a variable length function (obviously, heh) in C++, and what I have right now works, but only for the first argument. If someone could please let me know how to get this working with all the arguments that are passed, I would really appreciate it. So, when I do res = PQexec(conn, "SELECT point FROM test_point3d"); I don't know how to convert the PGresult I got to my custom data type. I know I can use the PQgetValue function, but again I don't know how to convert the returning string to my custom data type. Any suggestion? Thanks in advice.

    Hi, With a reference to my previous question, I would like to know how would I extract information of a WCF service from a client application to know what methods/types are exposed if the service exposes only one endpoint that uses webHttpBinding? Just to summarize, in my previous question, I came to know that an endpoint using webHttpBinding does not get exposed in the generated WSDL because it would be a JSON endpoint and is just not compatible.

  • New to Drupal -- how should I create a main page with a mix of dynamic and static content?

    I apologize for the terribly basic question but I'm not even a particularly adept web dev. I've read that Drupal is great if you know exactly what you want to do (then the API is handy) but I don't even know what I need yet. That is what I am hoping to gain from this discussion. I want a main content page which has a fancy content slider (using jQuery or something) which will be a selector for showing some basic information on these 2 or 3 subjects. I'm stuck on where I should be writing this mix of markup. In the template? Create "content" through a content type? Since there's a fair share of CSS and markup required to do this, I don't know if I can do that through the "basic page" content type that was there. I'm looking for pointers that can teach me how I would become aware of what Drupal can and can not do. Thanks for reading, let me know if I need to clarify anything.

    For example, I have a domain name example.com hosted at some host free, and now I want to know where is the IP of the host. so I can't configure the registrar control panel to point to that IP. So is there any way to know that IP, without configure the name server to point to it. and I know the Name Server of the hosting. for example ns1.hosting.com can I ask the specify ns1.hosting.com to get the IP of example.com Thanks

    I know how to add to clipboard with JavaScript, but what I want now is TechCrunch clipboard trick; when someone copies some text ( ctrl+c, right click copy, clicking on a copy link on-site ), additional text is added to the clipboard ( like "this text was copied from ... ). I know they use Tynt, but don't really know is this a feature you get with it or custom coded?

I'd like to know if there's a way to access to the class (or its fields) where an object is instanciated. Let's say I have: def Class1: def __init__(self): self.title = "randomTitle" self.anotherField = float() self.class2Field = Class2() and the class whose type will be the class2Field: def Class2: def __init__(self): self.field1 = "" self.field2 = "" # . . . # I'd like to know if there's a way to access the instance of Class1 from the instance of Class2 that is declared in Class1 (meaning, accessing the fields of Class1 from the variable self.class2Field in that Class1 instance) I know I can always change the init in Class2 to accept a Class1 parameter, but I'd like to know if there's another way of "climbing" through the class hierachy...     I am very experienced in C and C++ but am having problems finding current opportunities. I decided to switch to C# but noticed that while the syntax is very similar, the programming styles are very different (we don't have IEnumerable etc in C). So the problem I am having now is having 20 years of experience but is only a junior when it comes to interviewing for a C# job. Most of the problems are me not being able to answer questions like 1) How do you do XYZ in Sql Server? 2) What's the use of in Spring.NET In other words, the phone interviewers don;t care if you know DB programming or not - they want to know if you know SQL Server. I am frustrated because the guys who are doing the interviews seem to be so narrow sighted in knowing ONLY C#, .NET and SQL Server, that I don't know how to get past them.

    Hello, I am aware of that there are a number of code obfuscators/licensing programs for PHP. I wanted to know if anyone has actually used these and what their experience has been. Please note I do not want to know the solutions available. I want to know your experience using one of these solutions. Is it worth investing say 200$ purchasing a code obfuscator etc? I honestly would prefer something that does not have a loader etc. I know that it increases the chances of cracking, but I only want it to be a detrimental factor for them. Thank you for your time.

    I have richTextBox1, and here is the contents: line one from my textbox is this, and i want this to be normal, arial, 8 point non-bold font line two, i want everything after the | to be bolded... | this is bold line three: everything in brackets i (want) to be the color (Red) line 4 is "this line is going to be /slanted/ or with italics and so on, basically if I know how to do what I mentioned above, I'll know everything I need to know to complete my project. As I research Robotium works with a different Virtual Machine (Dalvik) so I cannot run as Junit Test (Only with Android Junit Test).
