  Hi, I have a question about getting DLL's directory on Windows system. The situation is like this : I have a DLL and an EXE file. The exe file must load the DLL to run. These 2 modules are in different directories. Moreover, the directory of the DLL is changeable. Now I have to get the directory of the DLL in "run time". How could I do this? Thanks in advance.

  I am using same class name in two namespaces, say A and B. Should the include guards be unique while declaring the classes with different namespaces too? I mean can't there be two files names AFile.h (in different directories) with same include guards and declaring different namespaces?   Hi Damsel in distress needing help with a batch-script. I have a bunch of files that one system creates. Either in one of 2 directories, or in the directory above that. The naming is apparently not very important, so It's a bit random. 2 questions for you batch-geniuses out there. a) How can I append date/time of creation to the end of the filename with a batch-script? b) How can I append a random filename (so I make the files unique) with a batch-script? • Can I run multiple websites under a single membership database?

  Hi all, I'm trying to plan a series of websites that all share many of the resources such as css/jscript/images/content etc. For this reason I wanted to run all of the websites under the same application and IIS profile, but depending on the URL being used change the masterpage and theme/skin. The ASP.NET membership database seems as if it was designed with this goal in mind because it allows you to setup multiple applications, however I believe the purpose for which this was built was to allow applications to be run under virtual directories/fodlers, not on seperate urls. • Organizing test hierarchy in clojure project

  There are two directories in a clojure project - src/ and test/. There's a file my_methods.clj in the src/calc/ directory which starts with (ns calc.my_methods...). I want to create a test file for it in test directory - test/my_methods-test.clj (ns test.my_methods-test (:require [calc.my_methods]) (:use clojure.test)) In the $CLASSPATH there are both project root directory and src/ directory. But the exception is still "Could not locate calc/my_methods__init.class or calc/my_methods.clj on classpath". What is the problem with requiring it in the test file? echo $CLASSPATH gives this: ~/project:~/project/src

• How to get information about a Windows executable (.exe) using C++

  Hi, I have to create a software that will scan several directories and extracts information about the executables found. I need to do two things: Determine if a given file is an executable (.exe, .dll, and so on) - Checking the extension is probably not good enough. Get the information about this executable (the company name, the product name, and so on). I never did this before and thus am not aware if there is a Windows API (or lightweight C/C++ library) to do that or if it is even possible. I guess it is, because explorer.exe does it. Do you guys know anything that could point me in the right direction ? Thank you very much for your help.

• MacPorts: violation of the ports-filesystem hierarchy in the destroot phase

  I'm in the process of developing a Portfile for my application and I'm running into problems during the destroot phase. According to the MacPorts guide, the destroot phase executes the following command: make install DESTDIR=${destroot} I think I may be misunderstanding how this is supposed to work in the Makefile. My application is very simple and the install rule only needs to copy a couple of directories to the DESTDIR so it is specified as follows: install: cp -R bin $(DESTDIR)/bin cp -R lib $(DESTDIR)/lib cp -R cfg $(DESTDIR)/cfg However, when I try to do a MacPort installation of my application, I get the following warnings: ---> Staging test into destroot Warning: violation by /bin Warning: violation by /lib Warning: violation by /cfg Warning: test violates the layout of the ports-filesystems! How do I fix this? Am I misunderstanding how the DESTDIR variable is used in the install rule or missing something altogether?

• Multiple calls to /dev/stdin using python subprocess (*nix)

  Hi, I have a python subprocess call which I would like to link up to three pipes (two standard in and one standard out). I know that there is only one /dev/stdin, but there's all those other devices in /dev I don't know about, and don't know of any python os, sys or subprocess modules that will utilise them in a manner which allows me to give the device path to subprocess.Popen. The reason I ask is because I would like to pipe information from a mysql database or tar archive rather than a directory structure I currently have which has 28,000 directories in. The directory names alone uses a LOT of space! The alternative is to tar / gunzip the entire directory structure and manoeuvre through the compressed archive. With either solution, mysql or tar, I would still like to have two pipes into subprocess.Popen and one out, so that I can bypass the HDD. Any need for an example??

  I'm looking for the most official definition of CSCI / Configuration Item - not just what it is but what we have to deliver / can expect when a contract defines subsystems which shall be developed as configuration items. I spend some time with my famous search tool and found a lot of explanations for CSCI (wikipedia, acronym directories, ...) but I haven't found a standard or a pointer to a standard (like ISO-xxx) yet which tells (1) what it is and (2) what has to be done from a QM/CM point of view. I just ask, because a contractors QM representative stated during an acceptance test, that CI only requires to not forget the CI in the configuration plan and to assign a serial number ... I expected to see some SRS, SDD, ICD, SVD, SIP, ... documents and acceptance test documentation for those subsystems...

• including library and dll into c++ project

  i have a third party library (say tp.lib) and the third party dll (say tp.dll) which i need to use in my C++ project (my project is a dll project, lets call it my.dll). i have include the library with the #pragma comment(lib, "libraryname") in the header file and also included the path of the library file in the configurationproperties-linker-additional library directories in my c++ visual studio project. the code compiles okay. but fails to execute. when i use depends to check if i am missing someting i observe that the tp.dll is missing from my.dll. the tp.dll resides in the same library folder where the tp.lib resides. my quesiton is what should i do so that tp.dll get included to my.dll thanks in advance

  Hi, I need to write some data in several database. I choose sqlapi.com I have made it for mysql and mssql. Now I have Problem with Oracle database. I have installed server and client on Ubuntu. In browser it works, but sqlapi says: libnnz10.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory DBMS API Library 'libclntsh.so' loading fails This library is a part of DBMS client installation, not SQLAPI++ Make sure DBMS client is installed and this required library is available for dynamic loading Linux/Unix: 1) The directories in the user's LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable 2) The list of libraries cached in /etc/ld.so.cache 3) /usr/lib, followed by /lib There are both of these files depp inside /usr/lib. I have tried a lot of ways to say eclipse path to this folder, but nothing works. Thanks for help.

  Hi guys, I am trying to install PEAR in my WAMP-server. The go-pear.bat is running as intended, but when it comes to changing the directories, it all goes wrong. I have followed this guide: http://phphints.wordpress.com/2008/08/26/installing-pear-package-manager-on-wamp/ The 9th line of configuration, Public Web Files directory, will not change upon command and instead says Input file error, no file extension in C:\documents I am running XP SP3.   For desktop based applications, what are best practices to perform auto updates? Currently, we download all files, then copy and register (if com dll) to their respective directories. I looked at Google Chrome update method. It seems that it first downloads a zipped file into a directory, and then unzips all the files. Also, they have a setup application which seems to be used to do the update. Additionally, they create a directory mapped to update version like 1.0.154.43, but they keep the old version's directory.

  Hello all, I was helped out today with a command, but it doesn't seem to be working. This is the command: find /home/me/download/ -type f -name "*.rm" -exec ffmpeg -i {} -sameq {}.mp3 && rm {}\; The shell returns find: missing argument to `-exec' What I am basically trying to do is go through a directory recursively (if it has other directories) and run the ffmpeg command on the .rm file types and convert them to .mp3 file types. Once this is done, remove the .rm file that has just been converted. I appreciate any help on this.

  Hello I need to find out exactly what files/directories a Lua program uses so I can try to only pack what it needs into a ZIP file, and come up with a simple way to deploy this script. I used SysInternals' Process Monitor, but I'm surprised by the small amount of information it returned while it watched the program (For Lua users out there, it's wsapi.exe, which is the launcher for the light-weight Xavante web server). Does someone know of a good Windows application that can completely monitor what a program does, eg. something like a live version of the venerable PCMag's InCtrl5. Thank you.

  Users attempting to check out files from a particular Subversion 1.4.x repository with Apache 2.2 on Windows 2003 have suddenly begun getting an error message in their log windows upon checkout with TortoiseSVN 1.4: Error REPORT request failed on '/[path_to_repo]/!svn/vcc/default' Error REPORT of '/[path_to_repo]/!svn/vcc/default': 200 OK (http://[server_name]) This started following an hd crash on the server and subsequent restore of about 10 subversion repositories. Only one repository is having this problem after an attempted working directory reconciliation. The repo owner reconcile their working directory with the repository by modifying/deleting the hidden .svn directories (though this was not advised). I can't find anything on the Internets that represents my situation. The restored server is exactly as the original and no other repositories on this server are throwing errors. Any ideas on 1) what this error is and 2) how to fix it?

  I'm pretty new to the world of RSpec. I'm writing a RubyGem that deals with a list of files within a specified directory and any sub-directories. Specifically, it will use Find.find and append the files to an Array for later output. I'd like to write a spec to test this behaviour but don't really know where to start in terms of faking a directory of files and stubbing Find.find etc. This is what little I have so far: it "should return a list of files within the specified directory" do end Any help much appreciated!

• Multiple Apps Possible via Launch Services, want to Specify Particular One

  Here's the issue: I have a list of App names that I want to launch. They do not include a path (e.g. {"VLC","Microsoft Word"}. I have two different copies of VLC in different directories. I would like Launch Services to ONLY open the one from /Applications/ and not EVER launch from /Applications/AnotherDirectory I want to get the path of these, and test to see what Launch Services wants to launch (via bash with "open" or applescript via "tell _ to launch" or [NSWorkspace launch...]) The only way that I have come up with to test the path of a file about to be launched by launch services is: Applescript: tell application "Finder" to return the (posix path of (path to application "VLC" as alias)) That works fine, but launches the app (which I don't want at all). Suggestions?

• How to disambiguate subdirs with the same name in the Projects list?

  My Qt project has 2 subdirs/subprojects with the same name. Their directories are myproject/node and myproject/compiler/test/node. The problem (or annoyance) is that, in the Projects list in Qt, both subdirs are listed as "node". So you have to open them up to figure out which is which. myproject.pro is like this: TEMPLATE = subdirs QMAKE_CLEAN = Makefile SUBDIRS += \ compiler_test_node \ node \ ... compiler_test_node.subdir = compiler/test/node node.depends = compiler_vuo_compile ... Without renaming the myproject/compiler/test/node directory, is there a way to make it show up with a different name in the Projects list?

• merging 3 source versioned trees into 1

  This is probably an easy question... I have 4 source versions of the same software in 4 different directories. I have just started using git for version control. To date, I have just been snapping a desperate copy rolling forward. I want to merge all versions (1.0.0.1, 1.0.0.2, 1.0.0.3, 1.0.1.0) together so that I will have a reference history. Opposed to just starting out with 1.0.1.0 as the initial version. I want to get this sort of thing right form the start. Can someone outline the basic steps to accomplish this? Thanks much, XO

• Using JLists and ListModels

  I have defined a DirectoryListModel class that extends the AbstractListModel class from the Java Api. Internally, I have a list of File objects. I have defined the getElementAt(int index) method as: @Override public Object getElementAt(int index) { return directoryElements.get(index) } The problem is that when I try to run my JList with my DirectoryListModel, it is going to show up the full paths of files instead of just the filenames. I could change this code to: @Override public Object getElementAt(int index) { return directoryElements.get(index).getName(); } and it'd work wonders, but the problem is that in the onclick event I'll want to have the File objects so I can do some checking with them (check if they're directories, etc). If I make getElementAt() return a String, I'm losing that possibility, thus I'd like to konw if there is a way I can format my File objects before the JList shows them in my window. Thanks

• PHP: Iterate through folders and display HTML contends

  Hi, I’m currently trying to develop a method to get a overview of all my different web templates I’ve created and (legally) downloaded over the years. I thought about a displaying them like Wordpress is previewing it’s templates view a small preview windows, displaying the concrete file with styles and everything. How to divide them into rows and columns and create AJAX modal window open on preview and pagination and so on I believe I can manage, but it is the concept itself about iterate over several folders then find all index.htm / index.html pages and displaying them. I’ve not worked very much with directories in PHP and the only references and code stumps I’ve found so far is just to list all the files in a certain directory like, what it contains. I would be really grateful if someone knew about a script, a function, snippet or just could get me a nudge in the right direction to create such a (probably simple) preview function. Nevertheless it works. And all other sites are also working correctly. Any hints?
