    I like to view my library in various ways in WMP. For example, I usually search for Podcast and order the result by date added. This gives me a list of my podcasts by date order, newest to oldest. Is there a way of saving this view so that I don't have recreate it each time I open WMP? If it's not possible to do this, can anyone suggest an app that does do it, and that handles syncing as well as WMP.

    I have a Mac connected to two different networks (wireless en1 and ethernet en0 ). The ethernet network is the preferred (System Preferences-Set Service Order). I'd like to be able to print to a printer on the wireless network side, without having to go to System Preferences and make the wireless network come first in the service order. Is there a way to add a route for a specific printer?

    I've an application that need to be deployed to some testers. those with windows machine are reporting that the certificate used for signing the application couldn't be installed because of an unknown critical extension (1.2.840.113635.100.6.1.4) is there a way to make that critical extension known to windows (vista 64bit specifically)? I'm guessing that all this system of extension give user the ability to register callbacks to interpret the various added extensions (it would be totally useless otherwise)

    I'm currently running Windows XP, but have ordered Windows 7. I want to keep Windows XP on a separate partition, and install Ubuntu as well. In which order should I install the OSs, and is there anything differing from an ordinary single-system install I should keep in mind? For example, does the order of partition make any difference? If I want to have the system drive as "C:" drive in both Win XP and Win 7, what should I do?

    In the VLC playlist window, I can't seem to drag the items around to change their order. Is that normal? In every other media player I've used before, this is possible. At the moment I'm resorting to clicking the title to sort the list in an order which is what I want, but I can't guarantee I'll always have the titles so correct! UPDATE No one? So Excel draws me first the Bananas, the the pears and finally the apple bar... Is there anyway to tell Excel 2003 that it keeps the order? Thank you very much

Unfortunately, this month we're using a printer that wants an un-booked PDF -- with one page per page, in the right order. I can re-order pages easily enough, but is there any way to take a PDF which is essentially 2-up and split the pages?

    I have tried many different CHM-to-HTML utilities, but I am having a difficult time finding one that is able to produce a single HTML file. I can decompile a CHM file using hh.exe, but I don't know how to easily merge the resulting files into a single HTML file, all while preserving the correct order of pages. Is there a free tool which can do this? If not, how can I merge the HTML files in order?

Extra info : I want OpenSSH 4.8+ in order to not install an extra library (RSSH) when OpenSSH can already handle it. However if you think that there is a cleaner and easier to maintain way to install a chrooted SFTP server let me know!

    There are some badly implemented programs like iTunes that are very... difficult to close, and interpret a close command (alt-f4 or clicking the 'x') as "minimize". Is there any setting I can change so that when I close a program it forces it to close, without having to go through the trouble of opening the task manager, find the program, kill it or clicking "close/quit" in 1000 different places hoping that one will do the trick?

    So here are my requirements. I have a website built in Django. I deployed it on Apache Ubuntu. Before there was no SSL involved so the deployment was pretty simple. But now the requirements are changed. Now I have to take a few actions like signup and login behind SSL and present the admin panel and other normally via HTTP. By following the this tutorial I have set-up Apache and SSL and generated certificates for SSL communication. But I am not sure how to proceed, ie. how to serve only a few of my actions through SSL.   • cisco parse show command

    I want to write a perl script which logs into cisco switches via telnet and parses the output of show mac-address-table. The problem is that different switches show me a different field layout. The WS-C3548-XL shows the fields in the order Destination Address Address Type VLAN Destination Port while the C2960 shows it like Vlan Mac Address Type Ports is there a way to tell show to print the fields in a predefined order?

  • Convert Ubuntu back to windows 8

    I recently wiped a windows 8 machine and installed Ubuntu. I now need to sell this machine, and the people I want to sell it to would like it to be running windows 8 again. I've been looking around online, and I was under the impression that I could simply order a recovery disk or a re-install disk or something similar. But I'm getting a lot of different answers. What is the right (legal, cheap, in that order) way to do this?

  • Facebook to iPhone sync only

    Is there a simple way to sync your Facebook contacts to your iPhone and only that direction? The Facebook app syncs both ways and there are contacts on my phone that I do not want on Facebook. At least that is how I interpret their warning when you turn sync on.
