• Need help with setting up MS-SQL on EC2.

  I have a large MS-SQL database that i need to send to the aws cloud. The issue is how do i persist my sql data and how to setup MS-SQL cluster using windows AMI. The real issue is that for replication i need to use the private ip's of the instances. However, these ip's are always dynamic and will change on server launch. • How can I use the "Windows Live Call Button" on my headphone to answer a call with Skype?

  Webcams and headphones from Microsoft (like for example the LifeChat ZX-6000, in my case) have a button which can be used only with Windows Live Messenger, to answer a call. There is no option provided to configure it so that it would launch a program, or work in another communicator, in the given drivers. Is there a way to make it work with Skype, so that I can answer a call by pressing this button? Maybe there are other drivers?

  Working on Vista & Window 7, I use Winamp 5.57 for listening to mp3 and VLC player for watching movies. I made those two as my default players for corresponding media respectively. But when I launch winamp for playing mp3, some of the video files( like .flv, etc.,) automatically get changed the file opening mode to winamp player. This happens every time even if I set it back to 'default program'. Can someone please help me out.

• Open application with lowered privileges

  I have a mac installer which runs as root with pre and post install bash scripts. At the end of the post install script I launch the application which inherits and opens as root. Is there a way I can lower the permissions back down to the user that ran the installer and then open the app? Or a more hackish way I can set the app to open in some scheduler from the script, which then gets opened by the scheduler which would have the users permissions

The workflow goes something to the effect of "Does everything look correct on this user? Y/N" to continuing on, or to bringing up the account to edit. There's no reason to completely duplicate the functionality of these dialogs. I don't mind requiring that EMC or ADU&C already be open before the script is run, if necessary.
