• Android ActiveSync/Outlook Error

  Getting the following error when attempt to press "Refresh" inside the Mail app for an exchange server account. Using an Android 2.1 device (Evo). "Exchange email synchronization is disabled". I can send outbound messages, but new emails are not coming in. Anyone know what would cause this error? Thanks, Kyle

On the server I have uncommented the following lines of /etc/ssh/sshd_config: X11Forwarding yes AllowTcpForwarding yes Now I try to ssh in, but I get the following error messages (and Xforwarding isn't working). $ssh -Y example.com /usr/bin/xauth: /home/dan/.Xauthority not writable, changes will be ignored $ssh -X example.com /usr/bin/xauth: error in locking authority file /home/dan/.Xauthority Any suggestions? • Default Text Color in Apple Mail.app

  Is there any way to set the default font color for new messages in Mail.app? It's trivial to set the actual font, and text size. I cannot seem to get the application to change the text color though. It always defaults to black. After 5 or 6 major revisions of OS X, surely someone has thought of this, right?

This bridge is connected to a Cisco Access Port and will disable the uplink port when the first BPDU arrives. bridged[3651]: [ID 581644 daemon.warning] unexpected BPDU on rge1 from 0:xx:xx:xx:xx:b; forwarding disabled I already disabled the transmission of BPDU Messages to the Switch by: dladm set-linkprop -p stp=0 rge1 This solved only the problem that the access switch port goes in "error-disable" mode. • DTaskManager Runtime '5' error?

  I really enjoy using DTaskManager as an alternative to Windows TaskManager, but recently I've been getting Runtime Error '5' messages. It looks like DTaskManager was programmed in Visual Basic 6, but it is quite powerful. I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise x64 so I suspect that the error might be coming from a Visual Basic runtime problem. I'm not sure which registry keys to edit to fix the Runtime Error '5' message.

  In Windows 2003 I was able to change the registry key as follows to display the actualy computer name on the desktop using the Computer Desktop Icon. System Key: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}] Change "LocalizedString" value to %COMPUTERNAME% I'm getting access denied messages using regedit for this key and I'm unable to give full rights to this specific key as well as administrator. Does anyone have a better solution for displaying the computer name on the desktop? Thanks.

  Hi, I want to compare the time used by our internal servers against time.microsoft.com. Is there an easy way to do this? Basically a third party sends me messages stamped with a time that has been synced iwth time.microsoft.com, unfortunately our servers are using a different time server, so I want to calculate if there is a significant difference between the our NTP synced time, and theirs. • Juniper not working on Windows 8.1

  I recently upgrade my laptop to windows 8.1 and now I can't run the Juniper terminal to connect to the company VPN. At the moment to click on the virtual machine it launche the terminal and afetr a few seconds a messages popup appears saying: juniper terminal services client has stopped working When I had windows 8 I was able to run Juniper without any problem. • Troubleshooting Windows Explorer

  I have a .NET application that receives messages from a web server and alerts the user. I have one Windows XP SP3 computer that when my application receives the message, it crashes the Windows Explorer shell. (I can see the message received in the listview just before Explorer crashes.) I don't see any errors in the Windows event logs. Is there somewhere that I should be looking at to troubleshoot this problem?

I am concerned about people who doesnt want my email clicking "report as junk"-button in hotmail, and understand that JMRP send me a message each times somebody clicks the button on one of my emails. • SMB starts but didn't show up in netstat

  I've running an SMB server at a SLES 10 server. The SMB server starts up well without error messages in log files. But it didn't show up when I try to check with netstat if the smb server is listening at the designated ports. I've no more ideas about how to fix this problem. Note - the SMB server worked well but after a reboot it shows the error described above.

• How Do I Restrict Repository Access via WebSVN?

  I have multiple subversion repositories which are served up through Apache 2.2 and WebDAV. They are all located in a central place, and I used this debian-administration.org article as the basis (I dropped the use of the database authentication for a simple htpasswd file though). Since then, I have also started using WebSVN. My issue is that not all users on the system should be able to access the different repositories, and the default setup of WebSVN is to allow anyone who can authenticate. According to the WebSVN documentation, the best way around this is to use subversion's path access system, so I looked to create this, using the AuthzSVNAccessFile directive. When I do this though, I keep getting "403 Forbidden" messages. My files look like the following: I have default policy settings in a file: <Location /svn/> DAV svn SVNParentPath /var/lib/svn/repository Order deny,allow Deny from all </Location> Each repository gets a policy file like below: <Location /svn/sysadmin/> Include /var/lib/svn/conf/default_auth.conf AuthName "Repository for sysadmin" require user joebloggs jimsmith mickmurphy </Location> The default_auth.conf file contains this: SVNParentPath /var/lib/svn/repository AuthType basic AuthUserFile /var/lib/svn/conf/.dav_svn.passwd AuthzSVNAccessFile /var/lib/svn/conf/svnaccess.conf I am not fully sure why I need the second SVNParentPath in default_auth.conf, but I just added that today as I was getting error messages as a result of adding the AuthzSVNAccessFile directive. With a totally permissive access file [/] joebloggs = rw the system worked fine (and was essentially unchanged), but as I soon as I start trying to add any kind of restrictions such as [sysadmin:/] joebloggs = rw instead, I get the 'Permission denied' errors again. The log file entries are: [Thu May 28 10:40:17 2009] [error] [client 89.100.219.180] Access denied: 'joebloggs' GET websvn:/ [Thu May 28 10:40:20 2009] [error] [client 89.100.219.180] Access denied: 'joebloggs' GET svn:/sysadmin What do I need to do to get this to work? Have configured apache wrong, or is my understanding of the svnaccess.conf file incorrect? If I am going about this the wrong way, I have no particular attachment to my overall approach, so feel free to offer alternatives as well. UPDATE (20090528-1600): I attempted to implement this answer, but I still cannot get it to work properly. I know most of the configuration is correct, as I have added [/] joebloggs = rw at the start and 'joebloggs' then has all the correct access. When I try to go repository-specific though, doing something like [/] joebloggs = rw [sysadmin:/] mickmurphy = rw then I got a permission denied error for mickmurphy (joebloggs still works), with an error similar to what I already had previously [Thu May 28 10:40:20 2009] [error] [client 89.100.219.180] Access denied: 'mickmurphy' GET svn:/sysadmin Also, I forgot to explain previously that all my repositories are underneath /var/lib/svn/repository UPDATE (20090529-1245): Still no luck getting this to work, but all the signs seem to be pointing to the issue being with path-access control in subversion not working properly.   I successfully configured Postfix to deliver messages to virtual mailboxes. I can set aliases and pipes inside /etc/postfix/virtual and mailboxes inside /etc/postfix/virtual_mailbox files. However, whenever I set a catch-all domain and point to a remote email address, it overrides all other virtual mailboxes and virtual aliases set in postfix. How can I set a catch-all forwarding to the remote email address when virtual mailbox is enabled? I set catch-all like this: @mydomain.com [email protected] Thanks for your help!

• Machine check events logged

  In /var/log/messages, this error occurred: Sep 19 13:18:15 wdc kernel: [2772302.630416] Machine check events logged Shortly there after, the entire server became unresponsive. This is in the log of the Dom0 for a Xen Server (running the latest version on Debian Squeeze). Can anyone shed some light on what this error means? Should I be ordering new hardware? Edit: Also, it seems to imply it logged something, where can I find that?

  I have created a very simple script (see below) but cannot get it to run properly. I always get messages saying line 5: syntax error near unexpected token 'fi' line 5: 'fi' when I try to execute this script. #!/bin/sh rm /opt/file_name if $? -ne 0 then echo 'error' fi exit I am running this on Red Hat Linux if that makes any difference.
